I've always been a fan of Jersey Mike's but I'll never going back to the Eastgate Marketplace store in South Riding again. Luckily, they just opened a Wawa down the street. There were five people working and the store was almost empty.  No one was in line, so I stepped up and placed my order with Reed, who seemed to be the one in charge.  Instead of seeing to my order, Reed chatted with the other workers on duty and cleaned the grill before he got around to preparing my order.  The other workers either stood by doing nothing or attended to other duties while I waited.  While Reed was getting around to my order another customer stepped up to the counter to place an order and none of the five workers on duty acknowledged him while he stood there for at least five minutes with every worker in the store ignoring him.  The poor guy finally gave up and walked out, but as he left, he let the workers know that he was disappointed that no one even said hello, let alone sold him a sandwich.  He left without anyone even saying anything to him even after he complained! I didn't say anything, but as I waited for Reed to finish my order the workers started talking among themselves about how out of line the 'old guy' was for calling them out for their poor service.  There were other customers in the store eating who heard them talking disrespectfully about the customer as well.  As I was paying for my order I finally spoke up and told the workers that they were in the wrong and had messed up.  This seemed to upset them, but I figured it was a learning moment.  I paid for my sandwich and was walking toward the door when I heard one of the workers call out, "JACKASS!" either referring to me or the customer.  I turned around and walked back and confronted him and demanded his name (Aiden) and of course he backed right down. He had green hair. To be fair, as I was walking out after confronting Aiden, Reed did try to apologize but it was too little too late.  I realize good help is hard to find, but they have a serious problem with their staff.  The crew on duty tonight needs to be retrained or let go, especially green haired Aiden (if that is his real name). read more

There is only meat and cheese and the whole sub is the thickness of a regular sandwich made with sliced bread. I don't know what went wrong but for the price of the sandwich I expect better. Don't expect to get an online order at the time promised. This is the third time we ordered online and went at promised time and had to wait an extra 20-30 minutes before our order was ready. We didn't get any hot subs, just a turkey and provolone and an Italian. Then after the long wait, we get home only to find that after customizing my sub on the app, nothing I asked for was added. I have eaten at several Jersey Mike's restaurants and the south riding store has got to be the worst. The bread was stale the bacon was old and the service sucked. Please get some better employees at that location. I was the only person in the store at the time and i had to wait for 8 minutes before they asked for my order. First, let me say that I am a fan of Jersey Mike's and always enjoy the food. My review is of this particular location and a consistent problem I think they have with processes and training. We eat here regularly and 90% of the time, we order in-store and wait. Service is generally quick and friendly. That said, there have been a few times where we placed an order through the app thinking that it might be easier or faster. However, what I have found every time is that I'll arrive at the time given in the app, typically 15-20 minutes after the order is placed and they haven't even started the order yet. I end up waiting, like I did today, an extra 15 minutes or so beyond the time they say it will be ready. I watched countless customers come into the store, place their order, and receive their (hot) sandwiches before my order from 20 minutes earlier, was even started. The guy on the grill appeared to be making only one (1) sandwich at a time instead of working 3 or 4 orders at once. Then, after waiting the 35 minutes for the grill sandwich, only THEN, did they start the cold sandwich in my order? Another 10 minutes added to my wait time. BIG FAIL. My husband and I love JM's however lately they have gone down hill. Our last visit I ordered a #14, vegetarian which is supposed to have swiss and provelone. I asked for double provelone instead and I got 3 slices of cheese on my entire sandwhich! These sandwhichs are very good and very pricey which we do not mind except for when they skimp on ingredients or forget them all together. On Saturday we ordered wrap sandwhiches which we never have before. My husband got the new Chicken club wrap and they forgot the bacon! How do you forget bacon on your NEW sandwhich and on a CLUB? I ordered the Baja chicken wrap. It states "grilled sliced chicken breast" well it was HUGE chunks of chicken in a sea, literally swimming, in salsa. It was such a gross mess I could NOT eat it! Friday 8:45 PM called placed an order on line i live 6 minutes away, arrived at 8:51 lights were out, doors locked. I knocked on the door 5 times 3 people behind the counter screaming to me that they are closed, completely ignoring me would not even come to the door he new I was on my way but keep in mind I paid for 2 subs. It is now 9:29 PM still completely ignoring the fact that I actually am leaning against the door. I manage 3 UPS STORES if ever one of my employees behaved in such a manner they would be fired immediately. With the world in such turmoil and not have a bit of understanding the definition of customer service then at the end of the day you have nothing. I want my money back and I promise you with the involvement I have in this community I will make sure that all of social media will know how I was treated. This was my first time trying out Jersey Mike's. I've heard a lot of good things about their subs, and many of my coworkers have recommended them. I ordered the Club Supreme sub online and decided to go with the giant size, because I've heard that they are massive. When I picked up my sub, an employee informed me that he wasn't able to completely fulfill my order. I ordered my sub on wheat bread, but they were out of wheat bread, so they substituted white bread. That's fine, not a problem for me. Unfortunately my giant sub was quite a bit on the small side. I'm pretty upset that their giant sub, which costed me close to $14, was shorter than a Subway footlong. I'd hate to see what their regular size subs look like. The sub tasted mediocre. The bacon was pretty good on the sub, but didn't justify the price. I will be attaching a photo of my sub. Really disapointed with Jersey Mike's. I love Jersey Mikes and it's usually at the top of my choices of places to eat. However, this past Sunday, we went in to get subs and the person who was making my sandwich went to the back between the person in front of me and making my sandwich and came back with a mouth FULL of food and still chewing. He was wearing the same gloves and chewing over my food he was prepping with toppings and talking with his mouth full. Jersey Mike's is one of my favorite legacy sub shops. However, this particular location has the worst service. I believe the high school students that work at this location have never been trained. While attempting to order food a few days ago in the restaurant, I watched 4 employees some how squeeze onto a grill for hot food; another was taking orders over the phone; and, the last individual was taking more orders for the grill. I simply wanted turkey sandwiches. No one was making cold sandwiches. After watching people walk back and forth, I asked someone to make a sandwich for me. I was told by the young woman taking orders that she was not cleared to cut meat. After 10 minutes of waiting for someone to start my sandwich, I left the establishment in disgust. I've been in this Jersey Mike's a few times since they opened in South Riding for a quick lunch. Every time, the employees have been courteous and friendly and the place has been clean. As another reviewer stated, they support community programs. Last time I was in they were donating a portion of their profits to the Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center which provides equine assisted activities and therapies for disabled children and vets. For that alone, I'll give them a 4th star! My husband and I split one of their large subs and neither of us could finish. Their sandwiches are huge and full of meat, cheese and whatever other toppings you crave. Everything tasted fresh. I love their chipotle steak and cheese. It's not often that I am happy with fast food, but this place prepares everything to order on a grill. Sandwiches are not nuked or toasted as in other chains.
