We were on this side of town and needing a lunch for the family in a hurry. The employees were amazing. The lady in front of us seemed to be ordering for a confused football team - tons of sandwiches, throwing lots of changes at them. The employees handled it like champs zigging and zagging through the changes and not appearing to be annoyed although the rest of the line was. Jersey mike's as a chain is great. They have gluten free bread (which is wish I remembered to try) and my husband and I love the agave soda ! Delicious ! My only complaint was that the lobby was a tad cold but that was probably just a personal problem. The bathrooms and lobby were super clean. I came near closing time, they seemed in a rush. Very abrupt and I watch team members wipe down and close for the night. I saw very unsanitary measures taking place and a lot of short cuts in cleanliness. In a time that businesses, should take extra measures. Including I saw people wipe meat cutters and counters with what appeared to be a dirty dash cloth. Also instead of wrapping extra vegetables leftover and such in different containers,because of cross-contamination. They took one piece of saran wrapped and wrapped everything together. Get it mikes way- it comes with onions, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices. Also they shred the meat right before they make it the sandwich. How cool is that!? It is thin and fresh. Came for lunch with a coworker. We both had Philly cheese steaks. Mine classic his chipotle. First off ordered the regular not the giant and glad I did. The giant would be lunch and dinner or a good choice for 2 people to split. Our sandwiches came out fairly quick and piping hot. We both really like the hot cheese mixed in the meat. Made for a rib sticking lunch that probably isn't going to be on anyone's diet plan. The place offers standard sub shop fair like chips, cookies, and pop. Salt and Vinegar chips with a machine lemonade topped off my meal. Overall the filling was good, the bread was ok, and the side options pretty standard. I ordered $50 worth of sandwiches. They were for delivery. After after an hour with no contact I called and was told that my order hadn't been picked up for delivery. After an hour and a half the same story. After 2 hours I called and asked them to refund my money. They told me that they couldn't because it was a third party app. I explained to them that it was Jersey Mike's app. They said it's still third-party. I went for lunch earlier this week. I Ordered the philly cheese steak. They have been advertising the item a lot, so I thought I would give it a try. Frankly they are having execution problems. They are taking "in-house" customer orders by hand on written tickets. Plus they are trying to mange large call in orders and on line orders. A big mess. My son ordered a cold sub and his sandwich was ready very promptly. My sandwich took over 20 minutes to receive it. They we're delivering other hot subs to people out of order, if you will. We like the food. It is priced a bit higher than other sub shop options. But the food tastes better, so I'll pay it. Really it's the bread that does it. But it's lunch, and my delays forced my son to eat without me as he only had an hour for his lunch break. We will probably go back because of the tasty food, but never again at lunch. read more

The food was okay. People that worked there seemed friendly. On the negative side, the place was dirty. The entry door needed a good cleaning. (we should have left then). The floors had clutter and sandwich crumbs, etc. All the tables were messy and smeared with sandwich condiments. While waiting for our sandwich... a young man came out to clean the tables. I am reasonably confident he had no training or chose to not to follow any training on the how to sanitize / clean a table top. He used a dark dirty rag that he pulled from a cabinet....and only managed to knock off the big stuff leaving greasy looking film on the table. Most of the table top was not touched nor were the edges of the table cleaned. The rag he used was thrown back into a cabinet which i suspect will once again be used to "clean" the tables. We chose to leave with our food rather than sit at the tables. The staff needs to be trained on Food Safety...and the Manager needs to check out / follow up what is really going on. These type of issues most likely is due to poor management. Our first and last visit. read more

I ordered two reg size chipotle cheesesteaks and asked for jalapenos on them as well (old cooks would always forget) and this new little girl who cooked the meat and prepared it all knew what she was doing! The cheese was all ooey gooey how it should be, jalapenos were on, steak was proper, bread game was soft and on point, it was delicious.. I've enjoyed eating at Jersey Mike's Subs until I went there a couple days ago. My problem wasn't with the food or even the speed of service. No, it was feeling pressured by the employee to tip the staff. I was entering the info on my shore points and the employee said oh, you can get a free sub. I said, great, I'll take it. Then she said, it will ask you if you want to leave a tip. I entered no, but felt pressured to leave one. Who leaves a tip at a restaurant where there are no waiters or waitresses? Where you normally carry the order to a table yourself? Where you get your own drink? Where you clean up the table yourself? Wish I was wealthy enough to give everybody a tip, but my bank account isn't that fat. Step up, Jersey Mike and pay your people fairly, so customers don't have to feel obligated to tip. Cold meats on two varieties of plain cold bread with plain cold toppings. Hope you like mayo or vinegar/oil. There is no mustard. Nothing gourmet, nothing artisan, and no pretense at a recipe in the whole house. The turkey, ham, and cheese is freshly sliced, and sliced so thin as to be transparent. It's really difficult to see much value here. If you work nearby it may be a lunch option if you want some variety, but it doesn't compare to the old Mr. Goodcent's which used to occupy the same location and offered soup, salad, and pasta. Subway has nothing to fear from JM's, as this comparable meal was nearly $9, about $3 higher than Subway's combo, and Subway offers more variety. The counter people are friendly, it's clean, the music is pleasant (country radio), and JM's offers Pepsi products (thumbs down). read more

I'm very impressed with the customer service at Jersey Mikes. I recently posted a complaint about an employee that prevented me from getting my food. I promptly recieved direct contact from management about the situation. I went back recently and was able to try the chicken ranch sub. It was fantastic. Well, this was my first time trying this place! I can say, unequivocally, Never Again. I really hate that Jimmy John felt the need to kill wild animals, but I am not sure if I have the patience to boycott them. The quality of the cold cuts is not even close to those at JJ. I know my Italian deli meats! Jimmy John's is top notch, period. The app does not let me customise my sandwich completely, the YELLOW MUSTARD SUCKS, IT'S GREY POUPON OR NOTHING. It's better than you can make at home, but it's not gourmet. No crazy cheeses or bacon jam...Just meat and cheese. Ordered my sandwich from a young gal with way too much makeup on...And fair warning, their mini size is plenty big enough. They definitely don't slack on the filling, so a 'mini' was a full meal, at least for me. Next stop was a a guy whose first words were "you want this Mike's way?". I had no idea what that meant other than there was a mysterious concoction about to be squirted on my sandwich. No thank you. Just mayo. Bless his heart.. that mayo was a work of art. It probably took him a full minute to put it on my bread...I also watched him put tuna on someone's sandwich, and it was heartbreakingly slow. It was a fabulous job, and I guarantee that person got no tuna overflow...but mercy. Slap it on the bread and let's roll. You have hungry people waiting. Next stop, payment. Lady was asking for money before the mayo was done, gave me my cup, and I had to hover awkwardly behind other people paying while my sandwich was being finished. I don't know if they get prizes for ringing people up quickly, or a new car...but this lady was all about ringing me up as quickly as possible. Apparently they have some sort of club or punch card...but I didn't hear anything about it during the nascar pit crew experience I had while paying. Sandwich was good...except it is a LOT of bread. It's almost like you get two top halves of a loaf. Towards the end, I gave up and just ate the turkey. There is also an extraordinary amount of cornmeal on the bread. I like nonstick just as much a the next girl, but this was overkill. Maybe that's the Jersey way to do things?? Everything to excess? This place is much better than I expected. With so many sub shops popping up around its hard to know. This location used to be Lenny's so I was hopeful. Their checkout was very efficient which made it fast and easy to get your sandwich. To me their cold subs are where it is at. Their hot sub selection is less and didn't look nearly as good as the cold Italian sub I had. They were very friendly and clean. I will probably never have another sub sandwich from any other chain store. The #6 Roast Beef is amazing, the beef is cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I always like JM's. This trip we had our lil one with a dairy allergy- so the problem is JM's website has an allergen menu and listing of what is in everything, bread is a big concern for milk products, but there is a disclaimer saying to check the products because the website isn't always up to date- JM corporate doesn't list ingredients on the products they send to the stores. read more

Jersey Mike's is a good sub franchise. The one in Springfield is great. Ingredients are fresh and high quality. This is a franchise take on New Jersey subs, which are Italian influenced. You get a lot of ham, salami, pepperoni, and Philly cheese-steak stuff here. Meats and cheeses are deli sliced to order. Veggie toppings, while few, are high quality and always fresh. Every tomato I've had from here was ripe. Every slice of lettuce I've had from Jersey Mike's was fresh and never had any brown on it. They'll always ask you if you want it Mike's Way, which is great if you love oil and vinegar and herbs and onions. If you don't like any of those, maybe opt for your own toppings combo. You can get bacon for extra, and you can ask for mustard and other toppings (they're just not displayed) on the counter. They also have a great rewards program and good coupons. Other things they offer besides sandwiches are salads (or "sub-in-a-tub" as they call them), kids meals, chips, drinks, and cookies. Oh, and the Rosemary Parmesan bread is to die for! read more

The place has to be good - there are always so many people there! Right? Right? I will admit, the meat on the Famous Philly was pretty good. My issue is with the fact that it was surrounded by so much bread I had to take a couple of bites to get to it. More on that later. From the outside, Jersey Mikes looks like a good place to get a quick sandwich. From the inside it feels like a fire hazard. There is one door and there were 50 people scattered around about 2000 square feet. The lady in line in front of me must have had some sort of proximity phobia, because when I walked in she was about as far from the person in front of her as the door would allow, and gave me a dirty look for standing behind her. Famous Mikes has a lot of people working behind the counter, so the service should have been a lot quicker. There is one guy back there that seemed to be doing a little bit of everything - he made a cold sandwich, he manned the grill and wiped off a table or two, unfortunately - that same guy was the only one taking orders. So, while there did not seem to be a time when there were less than at least four people waiting to order, there were several times when there was no one taking any orders, for far too long of a time (I don't know, maybe that makes some people feel like they are waiting for their food for less time - it made the wait seem longer to me). I ordered a Famous Philly - if you label something famous on your menu, it should probably be one of the better items right? Maybe it is. If so, it's unfortunate for Mike. Like I said the sandwich was good, but it did have a lot of bread. Here's my complaint. The grill is on one side of the restaurant, so it seems logical, that a good place to wait for your sandwich would be in front of the grill. At least that is what I, and everyone loitering around in front of the grill thought. But for some reason, once they get your sandwich ready, they wrap it up, walk back to the other side of the restaurant and start yelling names until someone claims their sandwich (which is usually back in front of the grill where they could have just handed the sandwich across the bar). My guess is the sandwich guys are wearing fitbits and are just trying to get extra steps in - either that or they're trying to keep from doing something productive. One last note - their Cookies are Awesome! I bet the one guy, that was doing everything, baked them too.
