This is the FIRST time I have been to a Jersey Mikes where part of the staff was rude and unprofessional. I went in at 11:15 today 11/12/2021 and there was no one in line. The two girls making sandwiches barely acknowledged me. When I placed my order, the never looked at me, just continued making to-go orders with me just standing there. Finally I told them that I was in a hurry and they started making my sandwich, one of the girls asking me short questions without even showing any interest in being friendly or welcoming. When my sandwich was made, she slid it to the very friendly and professional gentleman who rang up my order. When I said thank you to her, she turned her head and said "uh huh" in an obvious rude and irritated way. I have been going to JM's for YEARS, but I won't be going back to this one. I have been very very sad about the closing of our (Castaic) Mike's, only to be replaced by some cafe that went down the tubes shortly afterward. I LOVE Mike's. So I tried another location where the guy behind the counter was so busy flirting with the young thangs in front of me, he forgot what I told him my order was when he prematurely asked me before he even got the young thangs' sandwiches made up. FAIL. After repeating my order, I finally moved slowly down the line. Definitely a step below my Castaic Mike's. On to THIS Mike's.... Met the hubby for lunch and it was a very busy Mike's at lunchtime. Oh my gosh! These guys were efficient, fast and accurate! The guy cutting the meat and cheese wielded that machine like The Walking Dead's Michonne with her Katana. Zip, zip, zip and done! Next! The filler person cranked out the fillings, fast and accurate. No having to repeat anything to her. The slow people in this assembly line were the two "um"ers in front of me. (Um, I'll have that, and um... some peppers and um... *lol*) Not the people assembling the sandwiches or at the checkout. The lunch workers here (at least on this day) were a well-oiled machine. Sheer disappointment! Definitely one of the places I wanted to meet and/or exceed my expectations. FAIL! Major FAIL! This location just opened about a week ago. And even though they're just around the corner from me, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. To me, a judge of a good sandwich place is based on two sandwiches: the club (cold sub) and a pastrami Reuben (hot sub). I opted for the Reuben. I don't know if I ordered wrong, but when I ask an employee how the Rueben is and they answer,"Well all of the sandwiches are good." I should have taken it as a sign. A BAD sign. My sandwich started out on the grill okay. Nice looking pastrami - lean with a little marbling. It was down hill from there. One employee asks the other,"What else goes on this sandwich?" Uh..... you work here right??? Sauerkraut somehow made it's way on to the grill. Okay, fine. Then came the slices of cheese. Nice. The cheese went on the meat, then the girl proceeded to mix and chop everything together on the grill. By the time it came off? It was a mess. When I later opened up my sandwich at home, and it looked so bad I wished I had gone to the Subway down the street! It resembled dog food! Ingredients weren't even recognizable anymore. The 5 tablespoons of 1000 island made the bland wheat bread worse by just making the whole thing salty and soggy. That old saying less is more would apply in this case. I should also mention that this is a meat and cheese kind of place. If you want lettuce, tomatoes, onions or pepper on your hot sub consider yourself SOL! Even if you don't, they should give that option. They don't have peppers out where you can help yourself. Oh, and good luck trying to get anyone's attention to ask for any on the side. Didn't get any napkins in the bag for an order to go. Or should I say in with the three bags, foil and paper for 2 sandwiches. I think I got more packaging than sandwich! Customer service is also a lacking hallmark for my return business. Everyone has to touch my sandwich and somehow no one asks me what I want on it. When my sandwich was done and wrapped, it sat on the counter for 5 minutes because none of the employees were paying attention. I had to reach over the counter to get my food otherwise there's no telling how much longer I would've had to wait! 7 inches of bread, 3 ounces of meat, cheese, sauerkraut and way too much 1000 island, I'm still left hungry and $7.50 poorer! My favorite all time sub shop! Turkey and provolone mikes way with pepperchinis! What's even better is that with a yelp Check in at this location they throw in a chip and soda combo...radical! The staff is always friendly, the place is clean, and I've never seen it crowded so ordering and receiving food happens pretty quickly (compared to my experience at other JM locations). The only issue I have here is they constantly forget to put the bacon on club sandwiches. It's listed on the menu as part of the sandwich, but somehow gets overlooked. So now I make sure to pay attention, and remind them to add the bacon in if they finish the sandwich without it. read more

Came in today around lunchtime. There was a line almost all the way to the Wells Fargo when I was here. Once I left, the line was still that far. I don't necessarily know what the rest of these reviews are talking about- the staff at this location is great! They handled the rush like champs. There was nothing more they could do. Even with how busy it was, I am simply impressed at how organized and efficient the rush was held, along with amazing customer service. I took my daughter in this afternoon to get a sandwich. She ordered a veggie sandwich. She is a very strict vegetarian so she asked if they could slice her cheese on a separate slicer so it didn't come into contact with the meat. The employee that started her sandwich was very nice and accommodating. The next employee, Tristen, was getting ready to put on her toppings and said, "Let me change my gloves for you." The next employee, Jenna, was going to cut the sandwich but first went and got a new, clean knife for my daughter's sandwich. I've gone to this location quite a few times. Compared to the other Jersey Mikes, this one doesn't maintain their location. Food is good (usually) - 1 star I like all of the other ones in the valley - 1 star. Otherwise, this is a great place to go if you feel like interrupting conversations of the employees and inconveniencing them with having to do their job. Typically jersey mikes is good because its not just a slapped together sandwich like their competition. Unfortunately this particular location seems to differ from every location in the valley in that they want to just throw something together as fast as possible, quality be damned. For instance, we recently came in while the restaurant was pretty dead. There had been an already cut (horizontally and vertically) piece of bread just sitting out on the counter. Rather than get a new slice, they served us this dry, stale, underwhelming sandwich. Nevermind it just seemed unsanitary. Almost every employee here could use a lesson in common courtesy, specifically - the customer pays your check, so don't treat them as if they were a interruption to a super deep conversation. read more

This is a real conversation that has been replicated with permission from the participants. I ordered the turkey and provolone sandwich made "Mike's way" which includes all the good stuff like lettuce, tomato, onions, vinegar, oil, pickles and yum. It was neat how they would take the giant slabs of turkey and cheese and run it through this fancy (dangerous) chopper thingy. It helps to see all the ingredients being used in a super fresh way. The staff was nice and we all had a pleasant conversation. The location was clean. My only bummer was they didn't have the nutrition information readily available. I think at the beginning of the year this became a law and even if not, it's a chain, and it's helpful to most customers to have it available in a pamphlet at least.
