Hook n ladder sandwich, more like mush
    Debbie T.

I ordered a sandwich from postmates hook n ladder & it was aweful, it had sooo much mayo on it was like soup. I could not even it the sandwich, digusting. Won't be ordering from them ever again. They use to make good sandwiches.

Each location has a custom mural - this one has Six Flags Magic Mountain in the background!

We really like Firehouse Subs in Simi Valley, so when we found this location in Valencia and just wanted a simple meal, we gave this restaurant a try. Unfortunately, it was like night and day from the Simi place. The staff wasn't welcoming, the order took time to prepare that seemed excessive given that there was only one other patron in the place. The sandwiches were okay; nothing to write home about, whereas normally I'm tickled by the freshness and flavor of their sammies. I often order the Hook & Ladder, which features smoked turkey breast, honey ham, and Monterey Jack cheese (on which I have to pass). They don't have any vegan cheese, unfortunately for me. I miss cheese on sandwiches! Firehouse Subs feature a number of warm subs, as well as cold ones. The warm items lend a comfort food taste that is very enjoyable. The one served at this location was warm, but some element seemed missing. Maybe because the service was off, it affected the overall experience. As I mentioned, they weren't busy when we were there, but the dining room felt haphazard; some of the tables needed cleaning, and chairs were askew. We had just purchased our first newer car in over a decade (!) nearby, so we were looking forward to sitting together to talk about the purchase experience and be excited about our new baby. We ended up disappointed that we'd chosen this location of Firehouse Subs to have our mini celebration meal. I expect we'd just caught them on a bad night, right?

Just another Firehouse Subs? Well, not really. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Sandwich was the normal, very good quality of other Firehouse subs. Two clean bathrooms near the back on the right. The cashier was very helpful and recommended signing up on their app. Gets you points and a free sub on your birthday. I did it and it worked great. Decent sized parking lot because it's part of a strip mall. Nice sized dining area with a couple of tables out front. Has the usual 100 in 1 fountain drink machines. Good crowd for lunch, it was about half full with the addition of those coming it to get food to go. Hungry for a Firehouse sub? Here's a good place to get one. Enjoy!

I've had a lot of sandwiches in my days roaming the earth and eating things so I feel I'm kind of an expert on the subject matter. The roast beef is super tender without all the nasty chewy parts you get in other meats, it's absolutely delicious. Ms Ruth puts in the perfect amount of condiments so you're not overwhelmed with one flavor over another. It's something that you just have to go and try for yourself. That being said, they have a giant selection of other sandwiches. The portions are very large and enough to split so go with a friend or take a couple home for the family and cut them up the way you want. There's abundant parking but limited seating so many people get them to go. It's in Seco Mini Market so the selection of chips and drinks is more than enough to make you happy.

I moved away from the SCV a couple years back, but driving through today meant one thing: I had to stop. The service is still as warm as ever, and the sandwiches? Just as incredible as I remembered. My BF and I also tried the famous Yelp Sandwich and quickly remembered just how massive these subs are. We absolutely should've split one--because the Italian Combo alone is basically a 2-pound masterpiece. If you know, you know. Still a 10/10.

Brent's Deli is an institution in the San Fernando Valley, and it may just be its best. One thing…read morefor sure, the portions are generally humongous so you will never leave hungry. Nothing succeeds like excess. In fact, most people will need a take out box for one less meal to cook. Delicatessen means delicate eating in German, but at a Jewish American Delicatessen, the emphasis is on the Eating, which I am not complaining. 1) I requested an off menu item of having a Reuben sandwich where half is Corned Beef and the other Pastrami. Brent's Reuben has warm Sauerkraut, grilled Rye bread, melted Swiss Cheese, 1,000 Island dressing. Thinly sliced, multi-layered Mound of Pastrami is a bit on the dry side. Curing doesn't create a deep meaty Umami and spicing is present but attenuated. The Corned Beef is moister with bit more Umami & plush, thin multi-layered red colored meat. I have to say the Pastrami at Langer's is cured more intensely to bring out a deep Umami as well as more complex and complementary spicing of especially warm spiced cloves that adds aromatic richness. Brent's Pastrami doesn't seem to reach that kind of apotheosis. 1b) I asked for the steak fries to be fried two minutes longer for a crisper finish which was honored. Not much in way of that distinctive potato earthiness, but acceptable. 1c) Coleslaw is mayonnaise based, watery, bland, but a good cruciferous, fibrous veggie to add more fibre, healthful phytochemicals to counter the meat overload even though it isn't flavourful 2) Carrot Cake is closer to a delicate, dense, moist spice cake. A slice is enormous since it is cut from an extra tall cake studded with crushed walnuts and a cream cheese like not too sweet frosting. At $14 it could feed 4 people. Service is fine. They take your order and run with it. Bit of tunnel vision where it may be a bit hard to flag them down. But the job does get done. Overall 3+ stars

The cooks are great. We usually order either omelettes, eggs benedict, breakfast burritos or an occasional hot sandwich (the Rueben is my favorite). The omelettes come with a choice of bagel or toast. If I know I want a bagel, I call earlier in the morning and ask them to put the ones aside I would like. They do run out of or have a scant of variety of bagels available later in the day. We have never eaten in the restaurant, as we live close by and take it home. However, there is lots of seating inside and some tables outside. Outdoors is a large type sidewalk by the parking lot so not very desirable. There is a restroom for customers. From time to time I have purchased their peanut butter cookies. Love them! I know many people are bagel connoisseurs. I am not. I only know what I like and I like Dink's bagels. I love the rye, salt, and garlic bagels. Sometimes I get a small container of their lox cream cheese. Oh, by the way, the deli meat by the pound and salads are a great entertaining option. So there you have it. Breakfast, snack or lunch, Dink's is a great choice.
