Oh Jersey Mike's subs, how I missed you! Thankfully, since your arrival in PDX February 2013 I've explored each of your locations and find this one to be perplexing: First, the staff was mostly young women that were quick to welcome you in, made small talk and engaged customers and made sure that your sandwich was made as you ordered it and cut the bread all the way through. Now, just a few months later, the staff is mostly young men, preoccupied with the sports on the television, talking to each other and not bothering to slice your sandwich into pieces, even if you've asked for it. Theat sandwiches don't taste the same as at other locations and I cannot pinpoint why. Everything seems to be the same except for the people. I'll still come here when I NEED my JM's fix, but if I can hold off, I'll go to a different spot to procure my #13, Mike's Way, no tom, add banana peppers and Brown mustard. read more

This is my first ever review but the people working at Jersey Mike's in Tualatin were either very obtuse or intentionally playing dumb. Ordered a simple roast beef and provolone sandwich. No onions or tomatoes. Girl asked if i wanted any other sands. No. I asked if they had something like Italian dressing they could put on instead of mayo. She looked at me like I was an alien. I asked again really slowly "Do you have anything like Italian dressing that I could have on my sandwich instead of mayo?" She looked around and then said "you want an Italian sandwich too?" Moved on to the guy who finished the sand. Told him, no onions or tomatoes, please. First thing he puts on: onions. Please take off. I'll try again another way: please just lettuce, pickles and a bit of oil and vinegar (which I saw in their bottles). He does lettuce, pickles and then spends probably 15 seconds dumping vinegar on it and even more oil until I told him to stop. Ok whatever. Get to go and when I pick up the double bagged sand 5 min later it's soaked thru with oil onto my cloth seats! It has now soaked thru the 4 napkins I wrapped around It!! Downtown one was really good. My wife and I cruised through here over the weekend. I can't speak to the customer service as she ran inside to order while I stayed in the car but the food seemed to come out pretty quick. I had the reuben sandwich which was ordered "light on the kraut". I find that a lot of places over-do it on sauerkraut (imho) so generally get a little less than normal. Having never had their sandwiches before I can't say what they are like without modification but I found the kraut to meat ratio perfect. My wife sampled my sandwich and we both agreed it could have used a bit more thousand island but it was hot and had good flavor overall. I won't compare this to deli's that specialize in reubens and pastrami as I think that is somewhat unfair but when compared to other "sub style shops" in the area it was pretty darn good. read more

I always eat at Jersey Mike's and always have had a good customer service experience. Yesterday, myself and co-workers went to Jersey Mike's for lunch, the cashier was going so fast I couldn't punch my sandwich points in fast enough. I asked for him to fix it and he refused, He told me to call the store, I asked for his manager, his name, who I could call, He smiled antagonistically, said he wouldn't and didn't have to give out managers name nor his own, he then said nothing would happen as his Mother owns the sandwich shop. Well his Mother's sandwich shop is going to get a bad reputation fast if she continues to keep her son working there demonstrating poor customer service skills and unacceptable behavior towards his "Mothers" customers! I will be calling Jersey Mike's corporate office to follow up with this complaint. I later called Jersey Mike's actually talked to one employee who admitted the son to the owner of the shop likes to push buttons and is privy and his behavior is tolerated because he is the Mother's son! I later talked to a sensible shift leader who assured me he would discuss the complaint with his manager. read more

A buddy and I stopped by today with 2 Japanese exchange students around 7:30PM. The employees were very understanding and helped the exchange students order their sandwiches! Look, if you prefer "West Coast" style sandwiches, then maybe you shouldn't go to an East Coast style sub shop named "Jersey" Mike's. AND IT'S NOT A CHEESESTEAK PLACE! Cheesesteaks originated in Philadelphia and in my opinion shouldn't even be on this menu but whatever. Theses subs are made with oil and vinegar, so if you don't want that then don't go there. But don't write a bad review because you don't like that style. I'm originally from New Jersey and this franchise is a godsend to me because I haven't been able to find this experience in the PDX area. As far as east coast style subs go these are very good. There are plenty of other sandwich places that make sandwiches just like all the other sandwich shops so pick one and shut up about Jersey Mike's. You know places where you can get sprouts and avocado and mustard and mayonnaise just just go there and stop saying these sandwiches are bad because you have no idea what your talking about and no one should pay attention to your reviews. read more

I thought the point of mobile ordering was the fact that you get to skip the line? I show up ten minutes after my order, and there is a line of four people. I have worked in food service for over three years, and I totally understand taking care of the customer in front of you first, before the order that was placed online. BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID; If you have your mobile order person standing right in front of you, and showed up 10 minutes after the order had been placed, you would think they would grab my food and FINISH IT (yes it was already started, but sitting off to the side) instead of make me wait an additional 10 minutes for my order. NORMALLY I do not care about things like this, like I said, I work in food service and I have learned to not be impatient over food, because I, as a cook myself, can understand why food may take a bit longer than normal. But today was different as I was picking up food for my boyfriend before he had to go to work and I was running kind of late. I know that isn't their fault but at the same time, the girl working food was being exceptionally slow. ALSO this was probably the dirtiest kitchen floor I have ever seen. I wish I brought my phone in with me to get a picture, but they weren't all that busy and definitely had an extra body that could sweep their kitchen floor. The kitchen trash by the takeout line was completely overflowing, with trash all over the floor. I also noticed that the cashiers were immediately handling fresh food items and preparing sandwiches for customers as soon as they were done handling money, with no regards to changing their gloves or washing their hands whatsoever. To end my review, I am now eating my food and the bread is so dry. It's sad. I don't think I will be returning. Although I may pop in to get a picture of the place to prove to you guys I'm not over exaggerating. We all know those Yelpers. I, on the other hand, am definitely not one of those yelpers, as I never really review any establishment. But this I felt needed to be said. I hope this helps someone. read more

Having grown up on the Jersey Shore, I know what a ham and provolone sub is supposed to be..especially when it is dressed with oil, vinegar and spices. The sandwich here is pretty authentic and tasty..BUT, as my pet peeve continues to rear it's ugly head..slow, no actually glacial service. In there today at 1130 with a few people in line in front of me, one woman taking orders and slicing meets, another guy completing the sandwich and taking your $$$ and a couple of others just standing around..You're making sandwiches..this is not quantum physics. First time at Jersey Mike's. A good sub at an expensive price. My large sub and large drink came to over $17.00. If you get the medium sub you can get that for $7-$8. The large drink was $2.29 with a sub and $2.59 by itself. I had the club supreme which has roast beef, turkey, and bacon. Then I had it Mike's way. Though it was pricey I will be back, but not a real regular, just because of the price. The sub was very good, but did not show itself head and shoulders above the competition. The crew was extremely friendly and as I told them it was my first time they made suggestions and answered questions. Didn't like it at all. My husband got the number 55 I got the buffalo chicken with hot sauce and my daughter had the turkey cheese kids meal sub. All 3 subs were gross. It was so gross I had to write a review about it. The whole time I was sitting there eating this sub I was thinking of subway! The only reason I kept eating this sub is because I was hungry. Plus there was so much grease dripping out from the foil that the sub was sitting in I had to use about 10 napkins to put on the bottom because it would drip onto my hands, the whole bottom of the sub was literally drenched in orange grease obviously I threw that part away. Maybe the other subs are better I don't know but I will not be coming back here to see if the other ones are good. read more

The sandwich was promptly prepared on fresh bread and delivered to my table. This was a flavorful handful - larger than Subway's - and, ready for lunch, I ate with gusto and enjoyed every bite. We came here last night for the opening and the service was the best service I have ever had from a sub shop/fast food. The owners were extremely nice as well as the workers. Tried it for the first time today. if you like the taste of bread, this is your place, however, if you prefer an assortment of toppings, or toppings that you do not need a microscope to see, avoid this place. tried the pastrami reuben, the tiny amount of pastrami had a fishy taste???they sliced the bread roll about 1" into the depth and stuffed all the toppings into that small slice, so the rest of the sandwich was just bread.. other than the fishy taste the sandwich was flavorless. In comparison to TOGOS in Beaverton, there really is no comparison. won't be going back, unless i need bread. read more

I do like the idea that they support the community but the sandwiches themselves were just a-ok to me. I had a chipotle cheesesteak sandwich that didn't really have much flavor. But the girl who was working was extremely unprofessional for starters as I walked in before she noticed me I could hear her tell her coworker how she's drank alcohol in the freezer before. Then as I was ordering I asked for more mayo and pickles and she rudely said it's going to be 50 cents more! Nobody's ever charged me for asking for extra mayo and pickles! I have been in a couple of times and have tried the turkey prov sub and must say it was cool that they slice the meat In front of you but the fact that I came in before dinner and it took about 8 minutes to get my sub is a little disappointing. Came in because I got a coupon at tualatin library and purchased a meal for my other kid and best service. The two young gentleman were super polite and seemed happy to be at work. You could see the team work between the two. It was like something you see in the old days for customer service manners and all. Very pleasant and will definitely be coming back. Hate to give it two stars but Meh...so I went in and ordered a number 17 which is a cheesesteak and specifically asked for no onions and peppers. I say the kid behind the counter write down the order and it didn't say no onions or peppers. So I told him again no onions or peppers, he replied "don't worry it won't have any". With it being the grand opening week it took 5 or more minutes for the 1st sandwich which had veggies on it. So strike one. The gal behind the counter wanted to fix it right away which I appreciated. She told the cook to expedite another one. Well 5 minutes later I get my sandwich cause the cook forgot...strike two...the taste? It was ok, nothing to make you want to try it again...strike three? I really want it to do well as I love to support our local business but you can't have issues like this and need to know or you will see the same fate as Quiznos.
