The other day i was in this restaurant and long story short, i ordered my food and sat down to eat and my sandwich was made incorrectly and was not fully warm in the middle to my liking, i brought it back up to the register and the cashier offered to remake it and another worker (girl with orange and green hair) came up behind the register and was talking over the manager and the cashier, stating she had made the food and that it was perfectly the way i ordered it, then she went back and forth with me for multiple minutes to the point the manager had to tell her to walk away. the food here was not the issue it was the attitude of that employee, manager and cashier were very helpful but the other employee completely ruined my experience here. read more

They're food might be amazing but they're customer service is lacking. I came in to pick up a large catering order at the Tualatin location...no one offered to help me bring everything to my car or even offer to hold the door while I shoveled everything out one box and bag at a time. If you're on I-5 near I 205 Tualatin Oregon it's a nice place to stop. I have driven by it many times and I have to admit it just seemed like another sub shop. Tonight I drove by after 8 pm and thought I would check it out and found out different. I am very glad I stopped, they steam the meat and cheese separately than the bread so they can toast it to perfection. I was pleasantly surprised with a nice selection of sandwiches and even soups as an alternate side. The Hook & Ladder was recommended to me as their most popular and I can see why. Their sub and soup ate more like a meal and they have a nice theme to support first responders. They get the 5 star from me due to the clean restaurant and due to the theme. read more

I've had better from a box! When I tried to resolve the issue with GrubHub, I was told to contact Firehouse Sub directly. Which I did. I offered to bring the disgusting food back for a refund. There's always been something special about Firehouse Subs. I used to be a loyal Subway guy, so I was a little hesitant to try them, but the good ingredients and the speed of delivery won me over. The prices aren't bad and the portion sizes are good. The staff are always helpful, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. I have gotten the occasional wrong order where I asked for no cheese on my sub but got it anyway, but outside of that Firehouse has consistently been a reliable place to get a good sandwich. read more

Super disappointing experience here last week. Ordered two subs to go. It took close to 20 minutes. In both cases, they managed to get every single element wrong. Wrong meats, wrong bread, wrong toppings. The four teenagers working there without any semblance of adult supervision were likely simply in "don't give a crap" mode. After reading the reviews I was pretty excited about going to this place. I like it that they do donate a portion of their income to charity. Is located in the mall area so there is plenty of parking. When I entered there were only four people seated at two tables. There were four people working behind the counter. No one said anything to me as I was standing in front of the ordering area. In about three minutes someone arrived to take my order. I ordered the medium size Firehouse steak and cheese sandwich on wheat. It was basically a Philly cheese steak sandwich with the sautéed onions and peppers. I ordered it to go and received my sandwich within eight minutes which was a little bit long for as many people that were working and the amount of customers they had at the time. A portion of steak was decent but the sandwich was flavorless. The sautéed onions and peppers were over cooked. I ended up throwing half of it away. Instead of being my favorite hot-sandwich place, I now sadly refer to them as the "hot mess" sandwich place. Food: A People: B+ Restaurant environment: F Takeout process: F Parking: C- On the positive side, for me they make the best hot sandwiches in the southern burbs, and I've been fortunate to live only a couple miles from them. Their people are usually friendly and helpful. I've probably been there 50 or 60 times at least, and can't recall ever having a bad interaction there. On the downside, their restaurant has always been a really unpleasant place come to. A pretty bad parking situation, a tiny cramped dining space with tiny tables stacked back to back with other tables. Often a big long line to order, very long wait times for them to complete your order, and a big pile-up at the drinks machine. During covid though, they "fixed" all that by putting together what eventually became a really effective take-out process and reward program. Order and customize food from the app, show up, find my food waiting for me, pour my drink and walk out. Awesomeness! Now they've reverted. No more takeout rack, their app is broken, and even if you do order via their website, you will now have to navigate through the long order line to get your food as they no longer have a take-out rack. OWCH! Why even offer take-out at all then? I'm going to have to stand in line either way, I may as well order from the line, at least that way it will be fresh and hot. And their rewards process is effectively gone (bummer since I think I had a couple of freebies saved up). Really sad to see, but unless I'm going their off-hours, it's no longer a place worth going to imo. read more

Service was friendly straight up. The place was packed at 1:30 on a Wednesday not surprisingly for the area which I feel I had to grow some cahonas to have the courage to even enter this packed shopping center. Social anxiety be damned right? Exposure therapy, sure? You can order pickup, take to-go, or sit down (if you can find a seat). The drive through running along the side of Firehouse is for the Wendy's next door. It's deceiving. I'm imagining being stuck in it now and being forced to eat Wendy's with shame. They have about ten different varieties of subs but you can build your own. They run small, medium and large $4.99-$12.49. Even for a packed place, service was pretty quick and with a smile. We got the New York Steamer (corned beef and pastrami melt add pickles) and The Italian, both on white though they offer wheat too. Make sure to look at the sign showing sizes to gauge your appetite. The small is about as big as a slider. Medium seems to be the way to go for most (I should have looked at the sign as the small only dented my 18+ hour incidental fast). My bad, not theirs. Sandwiches were good. You know, good. Light years above subway. They sit well in the stomach. The medium was worth the price, the small, nope. Better to take the extra half home if you have a small appetite for value's sake alone. read more

For a chain sandwich shop, they did a great job of incorporating little bits of Tualatin (look for the crawfish and the pumpkin regatta as well as Mt. Hood) in the mural on the wall. When Firehouse Subs opened in Nyberg Rivers earlier this year, my boys were eager to try it. One in particular loves meatball subs, which is one of their specialties. We typically frequent Subway, so I was curious how they would compare in his eyes. And he says it is a draw. At Firehouse, their subs come in two sizes (medium and foot-long) and like Goldilocks and The Three Bears, one size seems too big and the other too small for my teenager on any given day. We always feel like we order incorrectly. I'm usually happy with one of the 'Under 500' subs on a smaller bun. I love chicken salad in general, but when I order the Momma's Homemade Chicken Salad, I've been disappointed. It is a bit bland for my taste. I've been happier with the Hook & Ladder Light and the Turkey & Cranberry. My son loves the Freestyle Coke machine and so do I when we visit on a quiet day. Otherwise, I agree with the other reviewers who note it can cause a hold-up around the order line when people are stuck looking at all the choices. Also, our experience is that food takes longer to arrive and the prices are higher than Subway, which is my direct comparison. Two things I especially like about their system is they ask when you are ordering if you want a pickle on the side. If you have a kid (or an adult for that matter) who hates pickles, you'll know it is nice not to have that little surprise when your food arrives. The interior is cute as a button with the fireman theme and Dalmatian table tops. Staff has always been nice and usually do a group greeting when we enter. But I just went and bought lunch from the Tualatin location and my Mac and cheese was cold, it tasted like it had been frozen and thawed :( The salad wasn't good as the ingredients didn't seem fresh at all. The food is good but you'd better have time to waste. I order in the evening and the kids working at that time are always late and often make mistakes with toppings. They try but their efficiency and sense of urgency is just not there. You'll usually get your food in a bag that's covered in greasy fingerprints or other ingredients from the sandwiches, too. Second time here. Both times the customer service is outstanding. Welcome as soon as you step in the door. Asked questions and got response right away. The sandwich selection is good. First time I had the Italian. Very tasty. Second time I had the pastrami. Ingredients were fresh and taste well. I have two complaints 1st is the pastrami is ok. Not great not bad. For me the best pastrami is from Togo's. This had very little pastrami flavor. The 2nd complaints is amount of food (meat) to bread ratio and cost. The sandwich is good but for what I'm getting the cost is way overpriced. Researching found a single meat sandwich gets 6 oz of meat for a large at 12.49 I was expecting more. Suggestions lower the price or increase to 8oz of meat. Had the chili for the second time...liked it but still overpriced for the amount I got. Dinning room was clean. Watching the staff they were always doing something from making food, helping customers or cleaning but still had time to stop by and ask if everything was ok. Subway who? Oh yeah, I used to date her, we went out forever and I was loyal to her, sure she tried some new things to keep me interested but it was just stuff the others were already doing. I wasn't really looking for a new interest in my life but isn't that always the way, when you stop looking that's when you find the one. The Wife and I are into volunteering for public safety, I help the police, she helps the fire department, so when she found out about Firehouse Subs and the good they do in so many communities we decided to try it. We didn't expect much just hoped for an edible meal. What we found was an amazing sub sandwich place with innovative recipes and steamed to perfection. My favorites are the Steamer and the Smokehouse, but I haven't had a bad sandwich here yet. You get the typical assortment of chips and a drink, but the upside on the drinks is they the Freestyle Coke Machine which gives you exactly a bazillion and six flavor combinations which is good. Waiting for the people in front of you to choose is less good, the younger the person, the longer the wait. However, for these sandwiches and the customer service it is a small bump in a generally smooth road. One thing I ask of you, when the cashier is getting to the climatic end of taking your money they will ask if you want to round up to the nearest dollar to donate to their grant program. This allows Firehouse Subs to bestow equipment to departments in need as well as education. It is very important work, check the good they do on their web page. My husband and I really like this place. The sandwiches are warm because they steam the meat before putting your sub together. The stream helps melt the cheese and any dressings you have all meld together giving you a flavourful sandwich. They also have a hot sauce bar on the counter that you can try different sauces or add then to your sandwich. I like there sweet tea, it's made with can sugar and try a brownie, they are really fudgy and remind me of something my mom used to make. Even though this is a chain, Firehouse Subs is dedicated to helping our local firefighters and first responders by raising money through their foundation. read more

I will preface this review by saying that this was the first time I ever visited the store, and that there were almost certainly better items that I could've selected. Having said that, I have to say that I got the wrong sandwich. I ordered a beef brisket with cheese and some other items on it, I don't recall what it was called. What I got was a sandwich with beef and barbecue sauce only. Actually, very bland and quite dry. That was not what I was looking for. I would feel differently about it if it had been busy. It was not busy- I was one of only three other people who had an order in, and two of them were ahead of me. In all fairness, everyone was courteous, the place was clean, the food seemed fresh enough and prepared to order, but I think that when all you DO is sandwiches, you need to be dead certain about the sandwich. Gave this new sub shop a try the other day. It's a small shop, and it was pretty crowded on the weekend lunchtime we visited. It's not entirely clear what the ordering process is - there were lots of people milling around inside the front door, but the order register is at the far end... I think they were waiting for take out or a table. Anyway, we ordered (wish they had some printed menus to look at, rather than the board above/behind the counter). I had the Turkey Bacon Ranch on wheat bread. It came served warm and was pretty tasty. Not a lot of bacon but the flavors were pretty good. The guys both had the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. They ate it, liked it, but didn't love it. The pickles are dill but are that weird bright yellowish green that usually signifies canned sweet pickles. The drink machine is one of those Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. Lots of choices, but because there are so many choices it takes f'in forever for people to make up their minds and get their drinks. They would do well to have a separate fountain for water. The drink line was pretty crazy. I thought there was a drive-thru for this place since it's right next to the front door of Firehouse Subs, but it's actually for the Wendy's that shares the building. Not sure we'll be going here all the time, since there are already a bunch of sub shops within a 1/4 mile. Plus, parking at this center is insane. read more

They have so many good subs to chose from here! Hard to go with the same one like I normally do at the other sub shops! I've gotten most of the subs on the menu now, and they will add different meats to any sub if asked. While yes, I am a Pepsi drinker- they have the Freestyle Coke machine at all Firehouse subs, and surprised it hasn't been said so far, yes it was started by a Fireman! So, I would highly recommend going right pass Subway, and go straight here whenever there is a Firehouse Subs in town! They put a lot more meat on their subs then Subway does! read more
