I have been getting a sub almost weekly from Jersey Mikes at Landstown and normally they have been pretty good. Today I got my normal Ham and Provolone to go. Got it home and the roll was as hard as a rock. You would think that on a Monday the bread would be nice and fresh but not today. The bread is just as important and the rest of the fixings. Perhaps it is because I don't see as many customers as I used to. I'll give them one more chance, if there is no improvement there will be one more less customer at that location. read more

To the point. Fresh, clean, quick with quality. With that, the sandwiches hit just a little different than other places. The location is a big congested and tight but not a problem to get in and out. The manager and co-worker seemed a bit busy with orders coming in but took care of me quickly and professional. Almost too professional as in "it's only 10:30am" and he was on top of the A game lol. Can't be mad at that though. Overall solid and really can't go wrong...well, still feel it's pricey these days and if you have a family getting combos, you will drop 40+ easily but that's life now days isn't it! We've been ordering on the app and picking up from here a couple times, or more, a month lately. The orders are usually ready on time, or after a brief wait. They are always correct and always delicious! It's really refreshing to have such good quality and accuracy of orders. We all know things go wrong but it seems this store is being run pretty well to be so consistent. There's not much to say, if you like a nice, fresh sub, stop by here. The points system is nice and it's easy to use their app or put your phone number in at the store. Our subs or bowls are always neatly packed and made. The store is located at Landstown Commons on the side with the CHKD. It's one of the first stores when you turn in. This Jersey Mike's was conveniently located en-route to Sandbridge Beach in a cookie-cutter shopping center filled with chains. My friend and I stopped purely out of convenience and efficiency; also we didn't want 7-Eleven for lunch. I ordered the regular-sized club with chips and added a bottle of water for $12. It didn't take long for the sandwich to be prepped and I do like that you can see them make it. They had a bunch of workers; it looked so crowded back there! Honestly it had been years since my last Jersey Mike's visit. I used to love the chain in college but haven't been a frequent patron by any means since then. I'm a transplant from Jersey, but I don't feel any pangs of homesickness when I walk inside this chain. We ordered 3 subs from Postmates. They were all perfect, fresh and hot. As pictured I got the giant Chipotle Chicken Cheese Steak. I added jalapeños and asked for extra chipotle mayo. I wish there would have been a liiiiitle but more mayo but otherwise everything was delicious and priced well. My husband got 2 regular sized subs because he couldn't decide! Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. As with all jersey mikes locations I was greeted upon walking in. My friend and I ordered a giant #7 (turkey and provolone on wheat, mikes way). Service was excellent -- workers seem excited to be there and are very tentative with what we wanted. Jersey Mikes subs are always the best of all the fast food sub places. The ingredients used are freshly cut and always full of flavor. I can't think of a more delightful combination of toppings and dressing besides mikes way (tomato, lettuce, onions, oil, vinegar and oregano?) and they never skimp on any ingredients! read more

I love Jersey mikes and frequent very often BUT how many times can I complain about them not caring how they make my sandwich at THIS location to the manager. Great Italian sub! I'm normally hesitant about ordering Italian subs because it's just too much deli meat (personal opinion.. I know some people love that, my boyfriend included). We ordered the Giant Italian to split and I must say, it was delicious. The meat was sliced thin and there wasn't too much of any one kind. My boyfriend felt like it was a hearty sandwich and I didn't feel like it was meat overload. The perfect balance. We got it "Mike's Way" and both left feeling very content! I like Jersey Mike's, especially their "giant" that's enough for two meals. They have a decent formula that makes it easy to succeed. Only a dozen or so different sandwiches, only a couple of different toppings and they slice the meat to order. It's tasty, it's quick and it's filling. Is it the best sandwich in the world? I have to start by saying I have been going to Jersey Mikes since the 80's being born and raised in Lakewood New Jersey. With that being said I was ecstatic when Jersey Mike's came to Hampton Roads. Lately I have noticed that the Customer Service at this particular location is very poor. My order was not as requested however I added the necessary items that were left out instead of complaining. Today I called to place an order asked for the mgr I explained what happen the prior week and if he would take my order. He agreed I asked his name he refused to give it to me. This store just opened Mid-2014 as part of the expansion of the Landstown Commons Shopping Center. This was my first time trying a Jersey Mikes. I give them a 3-star: Better than a Subway, but not as good as Firehouse Subs as far as Sub Restaurants go. Also, I'd rank them above Jimmy Johns also because most of their subs are HOT, which I think makes a better sandwich. Sandwich here more like a 4-star. Price seemed a little bit on the high side. Dining area is nice at this location. Price is a tad higher than I am used to, but every once and again, I may have to drop in to try other varieties of these HOT and tasty subs. :-) read more

I can see why people have rated Jersey Mike's low overall. It was our first time trying JM and I think it's safe to say it's probably our last by choice. Customer service was bland and uncomfortable. The only time I felt some time of genuine greeting was when a female employee who was cleaning the front door asked if we were coming in. After that, it was like tension was thick around the room. Decided on the big Kahuna no onions, chipotle cheesesteak, and chicken parm. To be honest, the kahuna and chipotle tasted very similar except the kahuna comes with mushrooms. We opted for no chips or drinks but we purchased one of their white chocolate "baked fresh daily" cookies. Maybe it's more of "baked fresh every other day" because that's what it tasted like. The sandwiches were just ok. Nothing to rave about. In the words of Simon Cowell: "it's forgettable." Bland customer service + bland sandwiches = bland ratings. 95% certain I won't be returning or recommending. read more

Jmikes is my favorite chain sub joint and I've always ordered the same thing; a number 9 without the Turkey. I'm well aware that means I get less meat (some places just swap the Turkey for extra roast beef but it is never something I expect) I have come to this location 3 times and the older gentleman who slices the meat has literally argued with me every time I try to order it this way. Probably the worst experience I've ever had a any type of restaurant! First they messed up the order and put steak on the sandwich instead of chicken...which happens so no big deal just remake it...then they tried to tell me that the sandwich had chicken on it but their grill was really dirty so it looks like steak (keep in mind I took a bite before I returned it)...not sure what's worse that you're telling me the steak is chicken or that you continue to make sandwiches for customers on a grill that is that dirty?! Okay, new spot for me to try. I really only had about 15 minutes for lunch. While I was eager to sit down somewhere and enjoy a meal, I really had no time so I popped in to grab something to go. The chicken Caesar wrapped called my name. Not good, not bad, but certainly not the spot as I had to eat whole behind the wheel. By the way, their stuff isn't messy so kudos! Food: would have given them more like 4 stars. It isn't the best sandwich I ever had, but it was pretty dang good. I really liked their menu options (wraps, hot subs and cold subs) and the different toppings. Customer service: more like 2 stars. It's pretty obvious that they are a new establishment and haven't quite figured out the pace of things yet. They have a flawed system with their employees. We came when there was only 1 person ahead of our group and it took a significant amount of time to get our food. They have one person that stays on register, one that makes the subs, one that cuts the meat, and one that works the oven. The problem with this was that the guy that made the subs got REALLY backed up. Instead of offering to help, all the other employees just stood there. The register guy could have asked "while you are waiting on subs would you like to go ahead and pay?" or the guy working the grill (who wasn't doing anything) could have offered to help with the subs. Just seemed like they lacked teamwork and didn't care. I really hate their tipping system as well. It was incredibly abrasive. The receipt showed us how much it would be to tip 15, 18 and 20% on the meal. This isn't a restaurant, so tipping 20% I feel should only be reserved for GREAT service. I have no problem throwing in a few dollars at a place like this (you get better service and food if you usually do!) but to have the tipping system so demanding made me turn off from it. So, the customer service was mediocre compared to the other locations I've been to. One situation that really stood out to me in particular is when I couldn't hear the associate at one point when he asked me a question and I asked him to repeat himself, he stopped and took a whole 10 seconds to repeat his question as if I wasn't paying attention and he was irritated that he had to repeat himself. I was VERY close to verbally ripping him to shreds due to the blatant rudeness, but decided not to play into it. Enunciate and project, mush mouth. And you'll probably get pretty far. My favorite location in the area. Always friendly and fast service along with a very clean sandwich setting. There are countless sub shops in this area to try, but for some reason I continue to come here. I really enjoy the Rosemary Parmesan bread. It gives a nice overtone to each bite. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be this: can they please come up with a size that is in between regular and giant? Just tried this chain for the first time. I had the Italian Sub. The meat was good and bread was tasty. It's about the same experience as Jimmy Johns but their toppings and options are a little more simple. Quality is not quite as good as Firehouse, but Firehouse uses honey ham on their Italian which ruins it so I'll probably be back here any time I need a quick, simple sub from somewhere close to my house. Good cold SANDWICH. I thought I paid too much for a 6" Sandwich. Also I'm paying with a card and the cashier says that the card machine will ask me a few questions like a survey. That's fine but what comes up is a suggestion for a 15, 20, or 25% tip to be charged to my card. I felt obligated to give which I did give. Customer service was great and nothing against the employees but 6" Sandwich without the combo for $9.00 is a bit HIGH. I tested both Jimmy Johns and this one because they're next to each other. I literally went to both at the same lunch and grabbed a small Italian with the works. Jersey Mike's was hands down much better than Jimmy's. The Wine and vinegar sauce at Jersey Mike's made the sandwich. The sandwich seemed meatier too. Jimmy Johns was a flat sub(Less than 1"). Mostly due to them ripping the soft part of the bread off the sub roll, but seemed worse than a sub made at home. This gets knocked down a star because they can't toast their sub.
