    Soda Bottle Starry
    Ramon R.

This was the worst Jersey Mike's experience I've ever had. I ordered a bottle of Starry soda and was given an expired drink. When I informed the manager and asked for a refund, she responded with a bad attitude and very poor customer service. She clearly didn't know how to properly approach or handle a customer. My son had already taken a sip of the expired drink, so before leaving, I checked other Starry bottles in the store. I was shocked to find that all of them were expired. I told the staff they needed to remove those drinks immediately before someone else consumed them. The manager took an extremely long time to process the refund. Eventually, I told her it was okay and that I didn't need the refund anymore I just wanted them to get rid of the expired drinks so no one else would be affected. When I was walking out, she didn't even apologize or say a single word.

Jersey Mike's number eight Mike's Way. Extra stale bread, please!

Wow! Really really disappointed. One of my favorite sandwich places just dropped the ball in a major way. Spoke to the general manager, Angel C, I explained to him I've been coming to Jersey Mike's for quite some time. And this is the first time that I ever had really stale bread. I mean, stale crusty bread. He exclaimed that the bread was made fresh in the morning mind you it's only 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I said it doesn't taste like the bread was made this morning. It taste like it was made a couple days ago. Hard and crusty. He apologized, which is fine but refused to get me a new sandwich or do anything outside of an apology for me. Just another example of this world going to shit. I'm deleting my jersey Mike's app and I will not be going there anymore. Probably won't matter to them. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned customer service?

    They are finally OPEN!!!

As I was getting ready to leave, she told me that it's best not to order pickup via the App cuz even tho, it should be quicker, the App still charges a higher cost even tho I was picking up and not having it delivered. Lesson learned. So okay, on my hard shell taco and my flautas (or taquitos) she topped it with guacamole, sour cream etc. My mistake. When I got home, they were already soggy. Still delicious, but some parts were soggy and falling apart. Anyways, I would be back. It's nearby, plenty of parking and it's delicious. Service was great and their menu was more extensive than imagined.

I'm not sure what has changed, but in recent experience the quality of the meat (specifically carne asada) is just not good. The meat is tough, chewy, fatty, and even cut up inconsistently (big and small pieces throughout the burrito). It almost tastes old ... To the point where I couldn't continue eating the burrito because I have to spit out the pieces of asada. They have such great potential to earn the spot back, maybe I've gone on a couple off days? Hope to be back in the future, but it just isn't like it was when I first tried it years ago.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.

The crispy chicken coupled with their savory dipping sauce has bold and zesty flavoring. I ordered through the drive thru line and although the line was lengthy it moved exceedingly quick. The vibe of this chain restaurant is usually casual and lax, but again I ordered through drive thru. The only thing I might recommend is making the fries a bit more crispy - mine turned out a tad soggy. Lastly, an improvement might be not charging extra for additional dipping sauces.
