All amalgamating into some of the best carne asada fries I ever had. The dude running the truck was especially nice. He recommended his hot sauce which was fantastic! Late review but they were kind enough to drive out to the Inland Empire for our baby shower catering of 150 people guests. It was such a hit! They offered so many different types of burgers and had FRESH fries. They also had refreshments which really helped, even though we had our own. This was our deal breaker when we learned In-N-Out only does chips instead of fries. I'm 100% going to use them again! My neighbors definitely got their card. I got the single cheeseburger with the burning bun sauce. The meat is very tender and freshly grilled. And the burning bun sauce was the right amount of spicy (I have a high spice tolerance) so if you're sensitive, do not get the burning bun sauce. I love the soft and fluffy brioche bun and how it soaks up all the delicious sauces and juices from the patty. The fries were one of the crispiest and crunchiest fries I've had. That have that amazing thin glass skin texture that just crunches delicately followed by the softness of the interior of the potato. It takes skill to achieve a glass-like crust while still maintaining the softness of the interior of the fries. They were a little bit too salty though. It was $18.50 for a cheeseburger + fries. Decided to go down to Bottle Logic Brewery on Sunday just to get out. Burning Buns was their food truck for that day. I mean I love a good burger so I had to check them out. When I got up to order I knew I was gonna try their Jalapeño Burger, and I asked for a recommendation on a second and it was the Frankenstein burger. Let me say I was not disappointed. The Jalapeño burger had fresh jalapeños, which actually weren't as hot as I was expecting them to be. Sometimes when you get something that is marketed as hot it could wind up being enjoyably hot, this was not the case. The bun was fantastic. All the ingredients were quality and you could just tell from the taste. The second burger I got was the Frankenstein. I wasn't sure how this one was going to go down because it had a piece of ham on it. There was also bacon. I was told this was the burger selection to go with, so I said let's do it. Obviously the ingredients were just as prime and fresh as the first. The ham came with a glaze that made the burger sweet almost like a Hawaiian. The bacon added a nice salty element plus some texture. Let me say I was so satisfied with these two burgers I had to go up and tell them. I am not very religious, but I will practice lent just as a way to show myself that I can hold off. This year I did away with fries. I was a little upset because I saw that they had some good fry options on there. With that being said I let them know, I had stayed away from burgers because it almost seems incomplete to have a burger without fries. This burger was so good that I didn't even feel the need like I was missing out without the fries. The meat was packed with flavor that I really didn't need to put the fancy pants sauce on it. The menu is pretty self explanatory. Super friendly service and great food! I tried The Southerner with a side of Truffle Fries Top. The Southerner had super soft buns, sweet BBQ sauce, and a crispy and thick onion ring. Great textures, great flavors. The Truffle Fries Top had thick parmesan shavings and was a little bit salty, but oh so good. I mean this in the best possible way - the texture of the fries is very similar to McDonald's. Crispy on the outside, soft and steamy on the inside. They're also cut to the perfect thickness. Loved it! I want to mention a few things about the experience. At the event we were at, Burning Buns was the only food truck. There were literally hundreds of people, and the line was continually long. But they consistently had a great attitude and even admitted a mistake they made on an order from someone a few spots ahead of me. They made it right for her, and she was very appreciative. For someone else in front of me, they accommodated his order when he requested seasoning adjustments. For my order, I had 2 burgers and an order of fries. I was also carrying my kid and asked if they had any suggestions for how to hold everything. They stacked the burgers and fries thoughtfully in a bag for me and sent me on my way. I don't eat beef and opted to try their vegetarian burger option. I had it placed in the southerner and asked for the non spicy BBQ sauce. When I saw they make truffle fries, I didn't need them, but just had to try those too. Both of these were to DIE for! Best meal of my life. The vegetarian patty tastes homemade with a really nice texture and taste. The buns here are SO good and really add to the full flavor and texture experience as you bight through the layers. The truffle fries are a nice large portion, with fresh sliced Parmesan on shoe string fries that are crisp and soft. I noticed below in some of the comments that $17 for a burger is thought to be too expensive for what is offered. With inflation, that is the average cost for say going to a basic place like Red Robin. Sure you get fries, but it's just a good burger. The experience with burning buns is like eating something from a Michelin star restaurant. It is truly gourmet , and has my mouth watering just writing about it. Our Laurel Glen Community Manager informed us of a last minute change to the food truck that was coming. I never heard of burning buns and after looking at their menu my Wife and I wanted to order the Cubano sandwiches and Carne asada fries. I looked at their website and tried to place an order there, unfortunately there was no location to place an order. My second attempt to place an order ahead of time was with the phone number they provided. I called three times until some girl picks up and informs me that I needed to call after five because they don't take orders ahead of time. When I called after five there was no answer and I tried texting but received no reply. I continued to call but no one answered and was so frustrated that we decided to get something else. As I drove past their food truck I saw one person there and he didn't look very happy. When I returned to our community after picking up our meal I noticed that there was no one there. I usually don't get food from a food truck. But the last couple days, I've decided to give it a shot. Burning Buns is an really good start to try some food from a food truck. Found them via Instagram. The very next day (after finding them on Instagram), I drove all the way to Irvine, California for their burger. I came up in to order window, I met Jessie (owner of Burning Buns). Very nice gentleman. Since I haven't eaten something from a food truck for a long time (if I don't count taco truck), I started off with getting a single burger with creamy chipotle sauce (with fries and drink). While waiting for the burger, I had a nice conversation with Jessie. How cool is that? As soon I got my meal, went back to my car and eat. I must say quality of the burger was excellent. I didn't need to get a double burger or a triple, single burger and fries was more than enough for me. Fries were amazing. This is when I was going to write a review based on that, but I want try one more thing from Burning Buns, so I went again the next day. Next day, they went to Norwalk, California. It was close by to my area. I ordered a really good carne asada. Comes with cheese, avocado spread, and creamy chipotle sauce. Heck yea to that. Got my dinner and I started eating it. It was so good. It was the best carne asada fries I've had. Really love the idea of avocado spread and chipotle sauce. Combination was perfect. The service I got was amazing, thanks to some guy (didn't get his name), Kali (Jessie's amazing wife), and Jessie himself. I will always remember you guys.
