Have eaten here several times. Tacos are decent for what is in the area. Came today and my daughter and I ordered 4 street tacos (total), rice and beans and one coke. Total was $15.43. We didn't get our rice and beans. When I asked doe them, she didn't ring them up. I asked for a refund, she said they are not allowed to give a refund. I asked for a receipt and she said prices recently went up and are not as stated on the menu. Wrote down the times I ordered and a total without prices next to each item. I asked her to add price per item and she just wrote random numbers on my receipt. Asked for manager. She was "on vacation".. There are other restaurants we will choose to support in the future. 20 tacos for $20! Why not!!!! So we got 5 beef, 5 chicken, 5 barbacoa, and 5 pastor. And a beef torta with French fries. All was delicious. Not the best I've ever had- could use a bit more seasoning on the meat. But pretty good for Terrell, TX. I'd rather visit this little Mexican restaurant any day over those bigger Tex-mex restaurants. Barbacoa and shredded beef were the favs. I LOVED the grilled jalapeños! It was spicy and was a perfect addition. It also came with grilled onions on the side. The green chile sauce at the was good. I wish they had the red chile sauce too. The Fresh kind, not the store bought chile sauces . Torta was good. 4/5 rating. Still not the best. But still satisfying. Food is inconsistent, the pricing is different every time you go in, and the employees are generally short and rude with you. I feel like we get ripped off every time because prices don't reflect what's on the menu, there is no receipt given to show what you paid for, and they're still using Covid as an excuse for high prices and outdated menu. Visuals: Two Jalapeno Tacos is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Their store sign looks faded, so there is a high chance of driving pass it. If so, it's a must-drive back and eat here! Parking might be a problem when the restaurant gets busy. The restaurant furnishings were basic- just tables and chairs, no booths. They do have a two hanging tvs to watch the new or soap opera when eating though. Food: Their menu provides many options to choose from- crispy or soft tacos, enchiladas, tamales, etc. My boyfriend and I ordered their Combo Plates. For my dish, I ordered Chicken Enchilada with chili sauce and pastor soft taco with rice and beans. The chicken enchilada was dry. I was expecting shredded chicken but it was more of a grounded chicken texture. The pastor taco was delicious and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered a beef enchilada with chili sauce and barbacoa soft taco with rice and beans. The beef enchilada was the better of the two enchiladas. The grounded beef tasted a lot better than the chicken. The barbacoa soft taco was good too. Personally, I liked my dish a lot better than my boyfriend's. Drinks: Aside from your normal soda selections, Two Jalapeno Tacos does offer horchata, cranberry juice, and tamarind drink options. You can sample the drinks, so don't hesitate to ask! Both my boyfriend and I ordered the horchata! It was so refreshing! I'd definitely recommend it! Service: There's no hostess or waiter, so orders were made at the counter. It was a simple process. The overhead menus were easy to read. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Our food was made and served quickly. Overall, my dining experience was enjoyable. Great tacos decent price. Def an authentic taste n they have fresh made horchata and hibiscus aguas as well as glass bottle mexican sodas.

Everything was amazing! This was our first time coming here and we will definitely be back anytime we are in the area. The tacos are cooked/spiced perfectly the way street tacos should be. They came with all of the toppings that should be there and a side of cheese (we didn't use). All three salsas were very good and the one that came with chips had a good spice to it. The rice and beans are really good too. Yelps directions to the restaurant from the freeway are weird though. It takes u past the turn to make a u turn, which is unnecessary there is a little street u can turn right before the restaurant. read more

I don't understand the good reviews. Or they came with a different chef, or they don't know anything about good food. I'm a Mexican food connoisseur, and this was bad. Everything was tasteless, bland. We had to put salt on everything. The rice was undercooked. The guacamole wasn't fresh--the fish without any flavor, not even salt. The one star is for their home salsa, which was the only thing good about this place. The service could be better too. We stopped by only because we were in the area for the first time and wanted to try local Mexican food based on Yelp reviews. read more

On 9/21 ordered carne asada and a can of soda, zero prices on the menus as they claim they are changing but they seem to have been changing some time. Price was $18.10 which for a hole in the wall was high to me, quality of the food was extremely poor, the meat was very thin and extremely over cooked. Also had a friend that was with me order the taco plate with an extra taco and rice and beans with a can of soda, total was also $18. Oh my gosh these are good tacos. If you get the taco plate it's $5.99 for 3 tacos plus rice and beans. Portions were a good size and the sides were great! They let me get a different meat for each taco. Carnitas and barbacoa were good, but hands down the al pastor was the best. I would get all Al Pastor next time. Comes with a really good side of salsa verde and grilled onions and a grilled jalapeño. The woman who ran the cash register was really sweet. My to-go order only took a few minutes and I would definitely come back here regularly if I lived closer. But any time I'm in Terrell I know where I am eating. read more

Very clean taqueria. Alan took our order with a very pleasant smile and excellent friendly service. I had the 3-tacos al pastor (beef) w/rice & refried beans. The meat was well seasoned and the rice was fluffy and tasty. Hubby ordered the al pastor burrito, very tasty too. Prices are a great deal and very reasonable (BTW, tacos are $1.25/ea.) Food didn't hit us like a ton of bricks like some Mexican food restaurants tend to do. A little oily on the tacos but too bad. Free refills on drinks would be more reasonable. The previous reviews are right, authentic tacos! ! I had the taco dinner plate, 3 great tacos along with rice and beans. In addition there was a generous amount of carmalized onion on the plate as well as a pan rosted hot pepper. All for this for $5.50, in fact all of their dinner plates are $5.50, can it get any better than this? The store is small, its very clean and the counter staff is nice and eager to help. The restaurant was clean and the people were friendly. The menu is simple, but plenty variety to satisfy the whole family. The food was great and very affordable.
