    Spinach pie
    Arthur S.

Great spot off the beaten path. Weiners were fresh and delicious. I ordered a spinach pie and had them add pepperoni and cheese. It was very good and I'm glad I stopped in. I ate outside at the picnic table, which was tucked away in the shade and really wasn't attended to by the looks of it. The inside wasn't to welcoming to guests, as the covid measures were still in place and the dining area was blocked off. As I was there, several happy customers came in and out quickly to grab take out. I was surprised how busy it got here. Some took it to go and some ate in there car. I opted for the unwelcoming picnic table to avoid the weiner smell in my car that seems to last for days :)

It's a very unassuming diner with little signage. We stopped here for a quick bite after berry picking across the street and it hit the spot. This little joint served up some very tasty weiners all the way. We also enjoyed a steak and cheese sandwich... crispy buttered, grilled grinder roll chock full of griddle fried shaved steak topped with cheese. It was closed for indoor dining when we were there but has a retro, original feel of what you'd expect for a local eatery. Service was friendly and prompt. Worth a visit!

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

Our waitress was very nice and patient with us while we took awhile to order. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my friend got the ceasar wrap. The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

I tried the special venison smashed burger. The frybread is perfect as buns. The fries you can totally tell are made in house. They have a thick texture and the spice is on point. Absolutely loved them. Definitely great to have as two meals! For dessert, we did the strawberry and blueberry frybread. With the whipped cream, it was a nice sweet treat. The restaurant has a modern but cozy style, with lots of seating and a lively vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends or going out with family. It felt comfortable but still exciting at the same time. The food was definitely the highlight. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they care about quality. The service was also great. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick without making us feel rushed. They checked in at the right times and made sure everything was correct. The dining area has honeycomb, black and white tile floor, the reclaimed wood slats on the benches and tables and big metal bowl lights all made for vibe cool. The bar is Big & oval bar must seat 20 people, It's a good spot too. Our libations were very tasty, I enjoyed one of the best Aperol spritz ($12) I have tasted and my date had the old-fashioned banana foster $14. We were both very happy with these choices. For a meal we ordered bowls, $25 each. I had the ahi Tuna bowl and she had the salmon bowl. They really cut back on the fish in these bowls... shrink- flation? Added lots of rice and I had to ask for more kimchi and carrots just to see more vegetables, but in general, it was fine. The Salmon bowl on the other hand had so much broccoli that it was overpowering the entire balance of the dish. I'll pick differently next time. The good service and the convenience of the tavern in Garden City will bring me back.
