I just received my picture files from Jessica Lake Photography and I LOVE them! I took my children(3 & 1 year old) to get their pictures taken at her photo studio for the very 1st time. She had a Santa Mini Session and luckily she had a time slot available. My daughter had so much fun going to see Santa and getting her picture taken with him. My one year old son did pretty good, didn't cry. Jessica is an amazing,professional photographer that knows how to get children to smile. As soon as I walked into her studio, I handed my children over to her so she could work her magic. I stood to the side so my children couldn't see me. For some reason my children act up when i'm around:) With Jessica they were all smiles and laughing. Of coarse Jessica was playing peek-a-boo with my youngest and being silly with him. It worked! The pictures I received are beautiful. I even got a little emotional looking at them, my babies looked so cute. They're growing up so fast! I'm just so happy that she captured that moment of their visit with Santa. Jessica's photo studio is very nice with so many props and backdrops to chose from. She is patient and kind to my girls and has never made me feel rushed or uneasy with dealing with my girls who are not always up for taking pictures. Absolutely love Jessica Lake Photography! Navy and Jessica are very talented. I love the studio shots and the on sight shots. I got my first pictures done with them when my daughter was a newborn. I've used these guys for 3 years until I moved. I've got Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day Halloween, 4th of July and my daughters first Birthday shots. I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time now...I have been using Jessica Lake Photography since 2016, so almost 2 years now. Jessica and Navy are truly talented at capturing some great shots of my son. My oldest son is 2 years old (and strong willed)... I don't know what they do, but they get THE BEST shots of him and I am so pleased with every picture from each session. I love that they offer mini-sessions throughout the year to capturing all these wonderful memories especially her holiday sets. after 5 months i no longer see red over how badly she treated me. i gave her props where props were due. she DOES do good work, WHEN she is in the mood. if she's not, good luck, bud. i just wanted to update this review to say THANK YOU for upsetting me so much that i looked elsewhere for decent service. to date, i have found 2 new photographers that deserve some attention. 1) Winter from Winter Wonderland Photography. she does 20 min"mini sessions" that cost $60-75 and you get the disc of EVERYTHING, which is like 50-80 pictures. she touches up what she likes and deletes the ones with closed eyes and such. i tried her once and while the session felt like it was kinda too fast (as all 20minute sessions seem to feel like) the outcome was pretty damn awesome. she is based in Corona and does weekend shoots all the time in lots of different parks...one thing to note. she is like J.Lake where sessions are scheduled 3:00, 3:20, 3:40, 4:00, so you better be ready to go when it is your turn! but the fact that you DO get a lot of good pictures, plus it is SO cheap...worth it!!! check her out and see if you like what she does~ she does tea party, cake smash, Easter and a lot of other types of sessions..she is versatile! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Winters-Wonderland-Photography/101577933224808 2) Nicolette Moku photography -wow. she is RIDICULOUS. RIDICULOUS GOOD. she charges $75 for a 1hr photo shoot, and you get 10 images retouched in a disc. she is gearing towards specializing in wedding photography, but for now she is super flexible and actually takes the time to talk to you to see what you are looking for. she is a newbie to the field, but it actually helps her since she is still "fresh" and energetic and really passionate about what she is doing. her top desire is to see YOU happy. she also does not book back to back sessions so she can really focus on you and your family. she recently did a shoot for my sister and they were awesome. last month she did my Laguna Niguel beach shots and WOW...canvas print quality work! anybody who has seen them are wowed by her work and have already asked me for her info. i've seen her work with engagement pictures, families at the park...weddings...makes me want to get married again so she can take my pictures! i foresee a wonderful future for her in the world of photography http://nicolettemoku.com/ the way that i was treated by J.Lake left a lasting impression. she hurt me terribly by the way she callously handled the aftermath of that horrible session. she never should have led me to believe that we were friends as well, since it made the hurt that much deeper. if you want to maintain professionalism, why make plans to go to spas and dinner? why attend my daughter's birthday party? the world of photography is kinda personal and the lines were blurred by her. that last session i was horrified by how off she was, i still remember so clearly how different she was and how bad i felt during the session. she had a softball game scheduled right after our session but since the earlier session ran over so long she had to cancel. she was all upset and frayed from the shoot immediately before us and it was bad for all parties involved. she should have just not done the session and rescheduled for when her head was clear. i was 100% sure that she didn't give a shit...and the pictures after only confirmed that it was not the quality that she is known for. and instead of trying to redo the session or offering another to fix it, zip. just insulted my daughter for being difficult and telling me that for future sessions she will be more professional. as if i would spend another dime on her after she treated me like that? i showed her work to many others, and they agreed that the last one sucked compared to her earlier work. after recommending her so highly and getting 4 clients to plunk some of their hard earned $$$ on her, wow. not in a good way. thing is, even the good pictures that she took in happier times make me sad now, and i am no longer proud to show them to anybody. every time i look at them, i remember how badly she treated me in either capacity whether client or friend. total fail. this is simply my opinion and a little history of what happened while i associated with her. there are a TON of great photographers out there. i know for sure i won't be wasting my hard earned money on someone who doesn't care or appreciate me~ i foresee me doing many cutesy mini session with Winter Wonderland and lots of outdoor family shots with Nicolette... in any case, the lesson i learned the hard way is the risk of doing multi pre-paid sessions! since that fiasco i have learned to book sessions one at a time to see if the work is good enough for a repeat~ i work hard for the $$ i spend and i expect to get what i paid for. when i do not, i certainly have an opinion! in any case, my last words to her is thanks for being such a jerk to me~ read more

I will keep this review to the facts. 1. My first session with her went well. However a day after the session she called me to tell me that she lost all of photographs of my family and that we would have to take all the photos again. 2. Make up session. She shows up with her camera but no battery! At the time I had a 6month old on a nap schedule. We waited outside in cold for someone to bring her the camera battery. She showed up with less props and lighting equipment the second time. The pictures came out better the first time. 3. she tells you to be on time especially for her mini sessions but she is always late! I would bend over backward to be on time then she would keep me waiting for one reason or another. 4. Her pictures are hit and miss. The last photoshoot I had with her she had the nerve to turn in a photo to me with a shadow half way across my child's face. 5. facts are facts. Wow!!! I have to say I am both shocked and offended by this recent review of Jessica Lake Photography. Not only because of the rude and foul language used but also because my family has had our pictures taken at JLP and NEVER have I been unsatisfied. In fact we just had our kids pictures taken with Santa and our family pictures taken on location. If you look at JLP's Facebook page there are countless comments about how terrific her pictures are and how happy people are with her service. I also do not understand why someone would continue to go to a photographer they are unhappy with and blame them for making you look bad. I'm not a fan of pictures of myself but I am pleased with how they've turn out with Jessica as the photographer. Never would I think to blame the photographer!! Jessica is amazing!!!!! She took newborn photos (8 days old) of our 3rd child, along with photos of our other children and family photos. She is extremely talented, knows what she is doing and very patient. It takes a special person to take newborn pics. I've have them done two other times (for the other two children) and she knew things the others did not. She knew to make the room very warm to keep baby comfortable, how to put the baby to sleep, and how to move him around without waking him. She spent a long time with us and the pictures were fantastic. Worth every penny and more. Wonderful person and photographer!!!! read more

I am sad to say that my experience with this business was less that positive. Her work is just ok. With the rise of digital photography and the limitless photography business that have flooded the market this combination of lackluster effort, unprofessionalism, and limited talent puts this business in a subpar ranking. I have chosen to keep my critiques to a minimum because after looking at her responses to other reviews it is apparent she finds it challenging to learn from constructive criticism. She has the ability to take quality photographs which is evidenced by her website. However there was a disconnect between the quality of the photos on her website and the final product she presented to me and my family. This was the most puzzling part. I would think that a business owner would want to repeatedly produce their best work. More attention to the poses, lighting, a little time spent on Photoshop she could have turned out lovely photos that looked polished and professional. Regardless of my experience I wish this business well, it appears as though not everyone shares my opinion but I would say that I walk away better for this experience. I have learned that consistency is an important quality to look for in a photographer. Unfortunately this individual does not display this very important trait. Jessica Lake Photography has been capturing pictures of my kids for the last 4 years, beginning at birth. I booked her after seeing her beautiful newborn photos on FB, and I continue to use her because of her quality of work, creativity, and her wonderful ability to connect with my kids. I have boy/girl twins (4) & another little girl who is 3 and it is not an easy feat to capture 3 kids that are so small, let alone capture images that are beautiful! In addition to the photos being amazing, I really feel like she has the ability to capture each of the kids' personalities. The sets are always so creative, both indoor & outdoor, and the whole experience is also fun for the kids. Both Jessica & her assistant Navy are extremely creative, patient, honest & flexible. I would highly recommend her for family photos as well, she also did "grandparents" photos with my parents which I'll treasure forever. read more
