My sister happened to meet Jessie through a dear friend and I am so glad we went with her to capture our engagement photos and our wedding... We were hesitant to do engagement photos, (let's be honest we've all seen the ones that are a little awkward), but were so glad we did. Jessie captured photos that are truly "us", and represent the fun-loving and slightly silly spirit of our relationship incredibly. She worked with us ahead of time to coordinate a location in San Francisco and traipsed around the beach and the Land's End area with us for hours to make sure we got a variety of shots. Words cannot express my appreciation and awe of Jessie. It is clear just how talented Jessie is by browsing through her website. Every image, whether wedding, engagement or family, is beautifully captured. She shot our wedding in September and we are beyond thrilled with our photos. Not only do my husband and I have beautifully-staged photographs, there so many small moments with each other and with our family and friends that we had no idea could be so perfectly captured. Jessie did our maternity and newborn session. I'll write about both below: Maternity- This was one of the most amazing experiences. Initially, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do maternity photos, but I am SO glad I did. Jessie was incredibly fun to be around and made me feel beautiful (which is always appreciated as a pregnant woman!). I loved the beach and coastal locations that she recommended. They really encapsulated this season of our lives because of where we live. She did a wonderful job of giving me ideas for posing, but was also very accepting to any ideas I had. I really appreciated this because it was more collaborative and I ended up having a more personal stamp on the photos. It's hard to fully express how much these photos mean to me. Pregnancy is so full of anticipation, wonder, and sacredness. Jessie was able to capture all of this. I am SO grateful to have these photos and it's going to be such an incredible gift to show them to my daughter when she's older. These pictures will better depict my excitement than any formulation of words could. Newborn- Let me preface this by saying what an emotional time this was for us as a new family. My husband had just come home from Afghanistan purely for the birth of our daughter, and was to return in a few days of this shoot. Also, our daughter had a medical emergency on day 5 which added a lot of stress (so grateful she's ok!). All that to say, Jessie did an amazing job of catering to our emotional needs and being flexible with our shoot date given we had to go to the ER a couple times. She came to our house to do the shoot- which is especially wonderful being that it is crazy hard getting a newborn out of the house in a timely schedule! She captured pictures of us in our living room, bedroom, nursery, and front porch. She even let our dog be in the photos- even the ones on our bed! My most treasured photos that Jessie took (all of them are amazing) are the ones of my 8 day old smiling (dimple and all), and close ups of me holding my baby. The latter photos still choke me up because they elicit such strong emotions. I cannot stress enough the importance of having pictures of this time. Your baby will never be this new or little, and you will never have the same novice relationship of mother-child. Lastly, my husband told me countless times how priceless these photos were for him during the remainder of his deployment. I am SO glad we have them and SO glad we hired Jessie. We Facetimed for our consults leading up to the wedding only met her on the day of the wedding since we were out of town in the Bay Area. Jessie is amazing! She took some photos for me when I graduated from college and I loved them. When I got engaged, I thought of Jessie to take our photos for our engagement shoot and for our wedding. Let's start out this review by stating that while my husband and I like being the center of attention, we feel SUPER weird having a our photos taken. That being said, when we got engaged we knew we wanted a photographer for the big day, but didn't know whether or not we should do an engagement session. After doing some research, we came across Jess. We loved her work on her website, and it we began to suspect through the one million emails I sent her leading up to our signing the contract/scheduling our engagement photos that she was fun, flexible, lightning-fast at responding to emails/texts, and incredibly down to earth. Our suspicions were confirmed when we finally got to meet in person for our engagement shoot at Grand Central Market. Instead of immediately forcing us into a bunch of awkward poses, she sat with us, drank a beer, and got to know us as a couple. It feel so above-and-beyond what we expected, and made the engagement shoot so much less stressful and actually fun for us. We are SO happy that we did the engagement shoot, as we not only got some amazing photos of us in the city that we love, but we got to know Jess and got comfortable around her. The same was true on our wedding day. Jess was awesome about helping me hammer out a photography timeline for the day, and she was a trooper through the many family photos we had to take, as well as a rapid-fire-round of pictures right after the ceremony with all of our guests. She got our photos to us a month after our wedding, which seemed so quick, and sent them not only digitally, but also printed a handful and sent them to us in a gorgeous wooden keepsake box. Not only was Jessica an amazingly talented photographer but she made every photo we took on our wedding day feel special and comfortable. She fit right into our special day and many of our guests and wedding party had nothing but wonderful things to say about how kind and outgoing she was. Our wedding was in April at a beautiful indoor venue and the photos, inside and outside, were all absolutely perfect. Not only that, but we were able to see pictures in just a few days after our wedding day.
