I would recommend KimFilms to anyone looking to capture their big moment. We booked them for our engagement shoot and whole wedding day (12 hours!), and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! I have been putting off writing this review, not because I don't love KimFilms and their work, but because I'm utterly speechless every time I look at their videos and photos from our engagement and our wedding. I wanted to make sure my words did them justice and could capture the overwhelming gratitude I have for their work, dedication and artistry. When it came time to find someone to document our wedding, I looked through instagram and google reviews for dozens of potential photographers/videographers, I did handfuls of calls to get to know them but nothing felt right...until KimFilms. I saw their work on instagram and I fell in love with their style. But it was after I did the consultation call with Marina, I knew we had found our team. Marina was energetic, lovely and easy to talk to. What impressed me was how organized she was and her high level of attention to detail in walking through a potential timeline for our day made me as a type A+ bride feel at ease. I knew we could count on them. My now husband, however, hates getting his picture taken and he was nervous and worried that getting your photos taken all day would be awkward. Our engagement photo shoot eased all of his concerns. Alex and Marina were so fun and made us feel comfortable right away. They knew when to direct and when to let us be totally us and natural. I can't say enough good things about KimFilms. The MOST important wedding vendor for us was videographer and we searched extensively for someone that fit our style even before we found a venue. We wanted someone that did film style editing and photography that didn't look posed. We wanted our wedding film and photos to look timeless and not cringey when we looked back in 20 years. We are also a gay couple so seeing that they had worked with other gay couples was a huge plus for us too. We could not have found a better team to check off all of our boxes. We did an engagement video shoot with the idea that we would use it as a save the date video. We gave them some inspo but mostly trusted their creative vision and WOW! The save the date video was EPIC! It was so us! I don't even know how they were able to capture us and who we are in just the 2 hours we were together to shoot and after having just met. Our friends and family LOVED the video so much and it really set the vibe and the tone for the wedding to come. My apologies for this long (literally), and much overdue review! There aren't enough glowing words to express how incredibly grateful and happy my now-husband and I were to be working with KimFilms on our engagement and wedding shoots. We first contacted Alexandr and Marina after seeing some of their work on their website. The quality and style of their images really stood out to us, as we were looking for a candid-style wedding photographer with a relaxed style that was both modern and timeless. After speaking with Marina and Alexandr, it became clear that we found a great match, both in terms of style and personality. They were so kind, patient, understanding, and prompt in their responses to our many questions and concerns. They made the process of working together very easy and were invested as we were in creating our timeline, ensuring we were comfortable, had time for the photos and videos we wanted, and overall understanding our engagement/wedding photography priorities. We loved working with them because every communication we had with them reminded us that they cared, listened, and were flexible as we were forced to change our wedding plans (at least twice) due to Covid. We had a wonderful time shooting our engagement photos with Alexandr. My husband and I had never done a professional shoot prior to this, so we were extremely nervous and out of our element but Alexandr knew exactly how to make us feel like we were just hanging out with a friend. He made us smile and laugh with jokes, talked us through poses, and was overall, so patient with us throughout the shoot. Due to Covid restrictions at the time, my husband and I had a small Catholic ceremony for our first wedding, followed by a larger second ceremony & reception months later when Covid restrictions started clearing. I hate to admit this... but I was that awful bride who ran late, both times to her own wedding while getting ready. To this day, I am still very apologetic for it but Marina, Alexandr, and the whole team were so professional and incredible about it. They were consistently communicative, agile, punctual throughout the entire process, and were incredibly efficient with managing time. Honestly, just having their presence made us feel calmer. Apart from capturing our special day, they checked in with us and made sure we were eating/drinking enough and had time to decompress in between photos. They were really good with our guests and with coordinating with our wedding coordinator and other vendors. The first time my husband and I saw our wedding photos and videos, we melted! Kimfilms blew our wildest expectations out of the water! We were in awe of how filled with love and light the images were. The most candid, intimate moments, captured so artfully and beautifully. Will not be booking/nor referring to anyone I know. Pandemic hit our wedding, causing a total cancellation. Worked with various vendors that were able to honor some credit, partial deposits back. But not KimFilms. They considered it liquidation for their services whereas it was not in our control to have this wedding canceled. They still gave us the option to post pone, but after getting married/eloping. There was no need for the services. All in contract, they stated "in the event the clients decide to cancel the wedding, the booking fee is non-refundable" For reference, clients did not cancel the contract. State mandates did. Not being allowed to have weddings of 50 or more ultimately ruled us out. Definitely other videographers that can work with you, are more aware of things out of the clientele control. And although I reached out for credits, they only honored it for the full package that we picked pre pandemic. But that's business, sometimes you lose. Just really disappointed. read more

My husband and I had a beautiful and intimate micro wedding June 2024. Our pictures came out AMAZING! I was initially concerned we would not get good shots since I am not photogenic. However, the photos and moments captured on camera were magazine worthy! Beautiful photos both in color and black and white. The best investment we made was hiring Marina and her husband Alex. Marina was wonderful and helped us plan our entire day. We shot in two locations in Beverly Hills and Pasadena. Both locations had great lighting and our vibe and vision came to life in the photos. Alexandr, Marina, and their team are rockstars! Since day one, they have been so responsive to all emails and phone calls. They even met us on video chat before the wedding to figure out logistics, as well as what we were looking for in our wedding video. What also really stood out to me was that they also specialize in other types of video, such as music videos, proposals, and parties. My now husband and I did not want a traditional/very romantic style wedding video, so having them create a wide range of videos styles really differentiated them, and that they are able to adapt based on the couples personality. The best decision we made regarding our wedding. Originally we were going to go without a videographer and I'm so beyond happy we decided to go ahead and do it! After much thought, I decided to write my honest review about working with Aleksandr. I was reluctant to be his only negative review but I owe it to the Yelp community considering it was his Yelp reviews that led me to him in the first place. My first email to Aleksandr stated "exactly" what I wanted to achieve for my project. We agreed on an affordable price and I also paid extra to retain the rights to all my footage. Aleksandr was to act as cinematographer and editor for my avant garde music video project. He met with the director and I at the studio location where we discussed again all we expected and what we needed to achieve that. All this and the actual shoot went smoothly and I was excited and looking forward. Editing is where the issues begin... Aleksandr first edit is something different from what we had all agreed on. The director and I after a few back and forths try to reach a middle ground deviating from our original plan in hopes of just getting a finished product. Any finished product at this point... Aleksandr replies at some point "You want to cook spaghetti but you ordered the macaroni." I found this to be extremely rude and ridiculous considering our vision had not changed from the very first email to which he quoted a price; and, we kept lowering expectations to accommodate his abilities. At this point I allowed the director handle communications till it was obvious we were getting no-where. I asked him to submit all my footage and end our working relationship; which he did. Now to add insult to injury; about 3 months later I am leisurely browsing through youtube and just happen to stumble on a video of me. I click and realized Aleksandr had about 2 or 3 videos of my unfinished music video and unreleased music still up on youtube. He had it up for 3 MONTHS! I sent emails to which he didn't reply. Reported to youTube. And finally called him from a blocked number; when he answered, he offered no apology and was extremely flippant about the fact that he had my unfinished music video and unreleased music up for any and everyone to access. I have emails documenting the above mentioned and more. read more

We all know that weddings are stressful, but let us tell you, Alex and Marina made this part of the wedding not only stress free, but also supper fun! We felt like we knew them forever!
