Steak Skillet with toast
Anthony M.

Get family owned restaurant in North Chicago. 2nd time here both times great service & food! This time I ordered Steak Skillet with over easy eggs. Big portions. Great taste. Skillet definitely matches up with the "big name breakfasts spots" if not better.

Dry, hard, orange French toast.

Stopped in for breakfast and the chilaquiles were amazing. Also the homemade hot (and spicy) salsa was a treat. Great service!

Affordable, delicious, and great service. The salsa on the Spanish omelet was especially good.

Absolutely amazing. This place is on par with top tier Chicago dining scene. Tiny and mighty. The…read morefamily that owns it is beyond hospitable and accommodating. The food is made with love and executed with skill. Creative and inventive but not over the top where form trumps taste. Second time to this place and will return over and over. Fried pickle and avocado appetizer knocked my socks off. Served with two sauces (red/loosely based on 1000 island and green/not mint). Both pared perfectly with the course but brought out totally different notes. One highlighted and intensified the sourness of pickle and the other played on the creaminess of Avacado. Deserts are a must. Drinks are good but a little on the sweeter side. It's a hidden gem!

A t small restaurant with one chef, one server and one kitchen helper. Service was a tad slow…read more The two appetizers - fried calamari and fried avocado and pickle spears were all very tasty. The aioli that came with them was a little sweet and spicy. The roasted poblano soup was really delicious with deep flavors. My entrée was the roasted mini pumpkin with foie grass and apples. It was very tasty although a tad sweet and for a few extra dollars it would have been nice to have two slices of foie gras. Another of us ordered the trout and it did not state it had a creamy sauce that was going to smother the dish...two others ordered beef or the mixed grill and it was way too rare and chewy - not high enough quality meat. Not sure I would return.
