My friends and I visited Jessup Cellars on a girls trip from Boston. It was our first time in Napa and we were having a tough time finding a winery without a reservations. We stumbled upon Jessup and I am so grateful that we did!! Tracy and the rest of the staff seriously turned our day around. They gave us a full tasting despite not having a reservation and provided us with some snacks when we mentioned how hungry we were. The wine was great, especially the Cabs and Red Blends. Jessup Cellars really felt like home and promoted the friendliest family environment out of all of the wineries we visited during our stay. I joined the wine club and am looking forward to my shipments in April and September. I will be back!! read more

Absolutely wonderful experience at their wine and cheese pairing tasting. This was our first tasting experience upon arrival. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything well. They have excellent customer service with booking and adjusting our reservation and were 100% accommodating when our party went from 4 to 8 last minute and we were 30 minutes late due to a delayed flight. I HEART JESSUP CELLARS and the Good Life Wine Collective! Rob Lloyd, in my opinion, is one of the BEST winemakers in this whole valley. Some wineries do great cabs or great zins or good chards...... Rob does EVERYTHING amazing! I am OBSESSED with his big malo-lactic Chardonnay and the blends he does are sublime. They really feature a great range of wines that are affordable, TASTY and unforgettable. They have, hands down, the best wine club events in Napa Valley and it is set up to be very social and friendly ~ we always meet new people when we attend their events and the cost of each event doesn't 'break the bank' like many others. They do a short film series, themed events with live music and food, generous pours... the works! The tasting room in downtown Yountville is casual and lively and the wine/cheese pairing is delicious! Don't miss it! read more

We visited on Labor Day and expected it to be crowded but it wasn't.. They didn't overbook and kept everyone seated inside because itit was about 110° outside. Carlos was awesome and so we're the wines! He let us taste a few extras and explained all the wines and cheeses to go with each one. So our party was riding along in a limo, stopping at a few wineries. This stop was one of the best of the entire trip. Why? The most awesome service and knowledgeable staff. We got a cheese platter with nuts and crackers and wine of course. If you buy wine from them, the tasting is free. We just had a great time with Bay. He was funny and light hearted and provided an awesome experience for us. He even let us borrow the menu from the Yountville deli so we could order our food in order to make it on time to our next appointment. Highly recommended. They do not have vineyard grounds like the other wineries, but that was easily made up by the friendly and enthusiastic staff. read more

Ay Bay Bay! Bay Reid is the man. To be honest, I have never been a big fan of wine and wasn't all THAT excited to go... But I put a big smile on my face and pretended to be very excited to embark on this Saturday event with my friends. (un)Fortunately, it was a beautiful day in Napa. I usually hate the heat (Miami Heat too). Anyhow, the weather was definitely very kind and the scenery was absolutely stunning. We hit up Mumm Napa, Jessup Cellars, and Beau Vigne. Jessup was easily our favorite and it was all free too! Our winebartenderman, Bay, was very knowledgeable and generous, all while being quite an entertainer. We tasted all the wine that was on the menu and were the first 4 people to try the "Table for Four 2008," which was not on the menu yet. I'd read up on the "table for four" on a yelp review and had asked Bay about it. He was surprised to see me ask and told me that their 2007 ones have been sold out. Then he pulled out a secret stash of 2008 and poured us a couple glasses of it. We joked around for a while and had a very pleasant time at the tasting bar. Bay was kind enough to explain each wine thoroughly and even showed us a keyring full of grape flashcards to show us what all these different grapes looked like. My personal favorites were the "Table for Four," "Juel," and "Manny's Blend." They were SO good. Turned a beer-man like myself into a beer-man-who-now-likes-wine! The entire staff was friendly and enthusiastic, making the whole experience much much better. Bay also gave us a voucher for free tasting at Beau Vigne across the street. All in all, I recommend this place 120%. Go look for Bay Reid. I told him I'd give him a shout out on yelp, so I hope you read this Bay! I took a day trip to Napa with some girlfriends back in August, and we stopped by Jessup Cellars because I remembered enjoying it on a prior visit in 2012. We had a wonderful tasting with our host Kate, and I ended up signing up for the wine club. I texted my husband Matt B. to let him know I was going for it, and he was convinced that I was drunk, and that I was making a huge mistake. As it turned out, I was only slightly tipsy, and I have no regrets about my Jessup membership. This is the only wine club I've ever signed up for, and so far, I've been very happy with my experience. There are a few different membership tiers, and I opted for the entry level Tasting Club, which comes with four shipments a year, each one containing three bottles of wine at a 15% discount. There is no choice in these wines, something Matt was quick to point out--we would never walk into a wine shop and give up our ability to choose for a 15% discount--but at this point, I've tried probably a dozen of Jessup's wines and loved them all. The shipments have been lovely, heavy on the reds, sent in nice boxes with detailed tasting notes. Most of Jessup's wines are ready or close to ready to drink, which is a good thing for the impatient. I've also enjoyed Jessup's emails, which have been low in volume and high in quality content. I actually bought six bottles of wine for 50% off through a holiday sale, which I was able to pick up in person. Matt and I spent MLK weekend in Yountville and made sure to visit Jessup. We were welcomed and treated, as they say, like family. We went on both the Saturday and the Sunday, and took two friends on the Sunday, taking advantage of the free tastings (which extend to up to four guests). We walked in on Saturday and reserved table space for Sunday, and this was definitely the way to go. Aaron helped us on both visits, and he was an awesome host. He was really fun to talk to, and he dropped some major knowledge about all of the wines he poured. There were some crackers to snack on at the counter, but the table tasting included some chocolates and a plate of cheese, which Aaron, a wine enthusiast and trained chef, had us pair with the wines. Wine and snacks with good company in a lovely setting--what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? We made it out of this wine tasting weekend without signing up for any additional wine clubs, but I'm really happy with our Jessup membership and will keep it going unless that changes. Even Matt seems content with it (at least he doesn't insist on my canceling it, like he does every month when we get our BarkBox, my other indulgent subscription). I've been to Jessup four times now and drank a large quantity of their wines. I have nothing but love for the hospitable service and wonderful wines, and hope to keep this relationship going far into the future. read more

Always scary to try a new winery right? Fellow Yelpers came through again by steering us to Jessup Cellars while visiting Yountville. We had a really great tasting experience overall. Let me summarize. The staff started us off with a taste of their Chardonnay while they readied a table for our party of 4. Our table was in a room adjacent to the main tasting room/bar area. The room serves as a small art gallery with different sized tables sprinkled throughout. Our server was Dan & he was definitely "The Man!" We all loved him & he was the main reason we left raving about Jessup. Dan just had a great personality, supreme knowledge of wine & great stories. We were furnished with a nibbler platter of olives, nuts, cheeses, crackers & chocolate. When we arrived at the ports, toward the end of our tasting, some additional chocolate magically appeared. Nice touch! We tasted 9 wines. We enjoyed most. Some, not so much, but that's how wine goes. It's all subjective right? We all found something we couldn't leave without & made some happy purchases. The most pleasantly surprising thing was that our private, 2 hour tasting of 9 wines with some treats to accompany them was complimentary. WOW! Complimentary tasting is a thing of the past in Napa. To have a tasting experience of this caliber be complimentary wowed us all. If you are in the cute little land of Yountville don't pass up Jessup. And don't forget to ask for Dan. Great little space!!! Free very small tasting room in the fun part of Yountville - near the shopping area and restaurants. It's free to taste but the wines are pricey if you plan to buy. All the wines were great and range from basic white, rose and deep reds to ports. They do take appointments and the pourers are very knowledge and kind. I would def come back! read more

Jessup was an unexpected reservation for us on our last trip wine tasting, but we were so pleasantly surprised! The tasting room has a beautiful gallery and the outdoors gives you a very Yountville garden-esk feel. The wine is delicious-the 2018 Chardonnay was TO DIE FOR, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon was well balanced and extremely smooth, and the 2016 "Table for Four" was, according to my tasting notes, "WOW!" We came home with a bottle of all 3. Lastly, the service was incredible! None of that stuffy business--we had the opportunity to enjoy each of our tastings in a very intimate manner and they did a great job taking social distancing precautions. Whitney was our hostess during our visit and not only was she extremely knowledgeable on the wine but she was sweet, funny, and made me feel like I was seeing an old friend--We will definitely return! read more

As a bay area local and wine lover, I make it up to wine country several times a year. Jessup is the only winery that I am sure to visit each time I'm in Napa. The wines are just simply outstanding. That's really the only reason I needed to keep coming back. Tastings used to be complimentary (although we always ended up buying something anyway) but recently they've needed to add a $20 tasting fee because too many people were taking advantage of the free tasting and coming in at the end of the day just to get drunk. That's just a waste of extraordinary wine on top of being a nuisance to other tasters, so I completely forgive the new $20 charge (which is waived if you buy anything so it's no different for those of us who always got something anyway). By the way, I MUST mention their ports. I don't understand how they're not famous for their ports because they certainly deserve to be. Both their cab and their zin ports are like silk. Honestly, their zin port is what turned me on to wines in the first place years ago. When I first brought my parents here when they were visiting from across the country, they also immediately saw how special these wines are (and again, they were also blown away by the ports) and ever since then, choosing Christmas gifts for them has been easy! Pro-tip #1: call and request a private tasting. There's no extra fee and you get to sit-down with your own personal server and have a simply wonderful experience. Going without a reservation is also definitely worth is, although you'll likely have standing room only and your server will be going between several guests. Pro-tip #2: end your day here by arriving around 4:30 and staying until closing time at 6. Then, walk to dinner at one of yountville's amazing restaurants so you have time to sober up before the drive home. Even without reservations, we've always been able to get bar-seating (even for 4 of us) right away at ad-hoc if we're there around 6. read more

Two thumbs way up for our host and wine maestro Dan. Dan the man. Jessup was the first stop on the bf and my wine tasting adventure in Napa, and it certainly set the tone for the rest of our visit. First off, the tasting room is spacious and beautifully illuminated, adorned with paintings and sculptures by local artists. Secondly, all of the staff that greeted us that day were not only accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, but also very approachable and warm; Dan not only kept us totally entertained and engaged throughout our tasting but was actually able to inform us about the wines in a comprehensible and genuine manner. As a wine enthusiast but novice, I really appreciate that the people at Jessup make wine tasting relaxing and approachable. Well, personal anecdotes, jokes, and the occasional dancing doesn't hurt either. Quite a few wines that we tasted that day really stood out. The 2011 Chardonnay was beautiful, very smooth with good citrus and vanilla flavor. The 2009 Table for Four was a perfectly balanced red blend, with just enough body and nuances to be complex but still very easy drinking for a variety of foods. Another favorite was the 2009 Manny's Blend (served gratis in addition to the regular tasting flights), it was sweet with notes of juicy berries given by the addition of Petite Sirah, but not overwhelmingly so. I'm normally not a huge fan of very juicy reds, but the Manny's Blend was truly great, especially when consumed with the bittersweet chocolates Dan provided. My mouth is actually watering right now as I'm thinking of that harmonious marriage of chocolate and vino in my mouth. It really saddens me that Jessup doesn't retail to any restaurants or retailers, so the chance of my finding a bottle out in NYC is pretty much slim to none. On a 2-day trip to Napa, this was our first stop and boy were we spoiled by this!! I decided to try this place after looking at the wineries/tastings listed on the Premier Winery Pass. We were looking for good deals so we could go to more wineries without spending our life savings. Being a Monday morning, we were the only ones there, so we got the full attention of, both, Mason and Grant. There is an option to taste 3 wines for $10 or 6 wines for $20. We just decided to start trying and see how far we got. Of course, I asked for suggestions of what they liked, to which Mason listed every single wine on the menu...not helpful, but also rather funny and a testament to how good their wines are. I ended up trying 5 wines - the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009 Petite Sirah, 2012 Zinfandel, and 2011 "Table for Four". The standouts for me were the Cab (hit me with such incredible aromatics) and the Zin (so drinkable and even a little sweet!). Bottles are reasonably priced between $29-$89, but the average bottle costs $45-$55 - not bad! Plus, if you buy a bottle of wine, the tasting fee is waived! (or buy two bottles if you have a flight of 6) Mason and Grant both grew up in wine country - Grant just east of Napa Valley and Mason in Sonoma - and they were both very knowledgeable about their wines and wine in general. Now, I like to try and drink wine, but I don't quite have the vocabulary of someone well-versed in describing a wine's oakiness or tannins or fruit scents or whatever else. Another friend of mine had recently described a wine as chewy and I was still trying to understand that. Grant so helpfully pulled out a chart of different words and characteristics commonly used to describe wine! Mason showed us a map and pointed out where each of Jessup's vines are located - leased across about 13 different vineyards in the area! Grant even gave us his own recommendations of other wineries in the valley to try (some of which we did and they are quite amazing, as well). We so enjoyed our time here - both because of the amazing wines and because of our incredible lesson on wine and even some history of Napa Valley! Jessup Cellars is fantastic and I will definitely be back, perhaps with a larger group of friends - they do seated tastings around the property. They also have an adjacent art gallery in which they also serve tastings! Grant and Mason - thanks for making our trip so fun! We stumbled upon this small winery on yelp and decided to check it out because of the great ratings. They are located in the little town of yountville. Parking out front and just go inside. They have a standing bar for walk ins, but if you make a reservation, they have table seating. Tasting is $10 for 3 wines or $20 for 5 wines. The tasting fee is waived if you purchase wine. Our sommelier was fantastic, great and knowledgable and helped us pick great tastings. We purchased a few bottles that were pretty affordable as well. read more

The best things in life are free! We walked in and were promptly treated to a wonderful tasting of 5 wines including the port. Everyone at Jessup was super friendly and we even got crackers to cleanse our palates. I only wish they had a larger outside area for people to enjoy the wine in! As it was a beautiful day, it would have been nice to walk around a bit, but we were confined to a little rectangle in the front. It's alright though, the whole tasting room is spacious enough and they also have private rooms for larger parties. Loved our time at Jessup, was too buzzed to really understand what I was drinking so I can't comment too much on the actual wines. Winemaker Mark Jessup worked for Robert Mondavi and became a winemaker for Opus one and now has been making his own wine for ten years! His signature wine is "a table for four" it is a meritage/red table wine. It is absoulutley scrumtious!! The tasting room is in downtown Yountville. Tasting is complimentary and they share their wisdom along with their juicy delicious wines. Jessup has six to eight varietals and is an excellent tasting room for those fellow "red wine " lovers. I also enjoyed the hospitlity of Patrick who did a private tasting for my family and I as well as the BEAUTIFUL art on display. ...the cheese and crackers weren't so shabby either! read more

What a cute little cellar for tasting! The tastings and cheese plates are FREE!!! If you are on a budget, this is the best place. The staff is so friendly and upbeat. There's music playing while you taste, and the wines are not bad!! I really like the Table for Four, but it's $80 a bottle. The port is exceptionally strong, but with the dark chocolate that comes with it, i actually liked it...and i hate port. However, they said that it pairs well with blue cheese...which i'm just not sure about. It just seems like explosive flavors that may not turn out well at all. read more

PLEASE go to Jessup Cellars! I cannot rave enough about this place. The ambience is quaint and reflects that rustic modern country style that Yountville loves so dearly. I was at Jessup Cellars towards the evening and was able to catch a spectacular sunset from their outdoor fireplace. Even though the bar is on the smaller side, the layout encourages you to look around at the chosen art pieces put on display. Jessup Cellars is located on Washington Street, the heart of Yountville. You have multiple restaurants next door as well as a few hotels and other tasting boutiques. Everything is within walking distance. No need to drive if you're staying in Yountville. The wines are scrumptious. I particularly loved the 2011 Pinot Noir. It's definitely on the fruity side with hints of raspberries and cherries, very soft and well-rounded. What really drew me to this place was the staff. I work within the wine industry and absolutely hate when I get poor service because I'm industry... I think tasting rooms in the Valley get the notion that we aren't buyers, we don't need as much attention, and that we aren't there for any number of reasons. Truth is, I'm there for the wine, the ambience and the staff. The staff complete the tasting room. They are the foundation of your experience. So, when I'm greeted with smiles, warmth and friendly conversations... You've sold me. Long story short, Jessup Cellars is worth it. I can't tell you how much that I love this place...it's just AMAZING! My first visit to Jessup was through a wine tasting tour with Platypus tours. We had a private tasting with Bob, and our group tasted many fine wines here. If I hadn't booked my tour with Platypus, I wouldn't have stopped here. It was such a memorable visit, that we've come back at least 3 more times. This past visit, I made a tasting appointment instead of just walking in. I figured with the Mustard Festival, and to avoid any large groups or parties...to set it up. It's the best thing to do if you want to take the time and enjoy your wines. Christine or Chris as we called her, was just amazing and wonderful. As we waited for our friends, Becky & Art, to join us...we started sampling some chardonnay. I'm not a fan of white wines...but this is their only white wine that they serve...and it's quite exceptional. It's not too buttery, but it's refreshing and light and I probably would have drink the entire bottle given on a hot summer day. Since we had made the appointment, we were sat at a private table filled with cheeses, nuts, crackers, chocolates...and we were able to stare and enjoy all the beautiful artwork on the walls, too. The way it works here, is you to side by side tastings of the vintages available, and you switch with your partner. Luckily, my husband was the driver...so I got to have a little more of his vino when I could sneak it in!! We had the Rose wine as well, which isn't really your "typical" rose wine, but it's quite refreshing and perfect for those picnic kind of days. I've been on the hunt for Zinfandels lately, and from my last visit I couldn't remember them - we had previously bought the Cabernet, Table for Four, and Port. Zinfandels was great, light, great flavor, beautiful coloring, and we would that 2005 was our winning choice. It's amazing what a difference one year will do to the vineyard. We have found that 2005 has been a great year for wines, we bought 2 of these. Then we got into the Cabernet comparables between 2005 and 2006. 2005 was slightly drier, and 2006 was a little fruitier...we loved 2005 again. But we still had one of these bottles had home from our previous trip. Then we had the 2004 Merlot....which is perfect for a hearty steak dinner. It had such a bite to it...amazing I tell you. Table for Four wasn't listed on our tasting menu because it's an exclusive wine for wine club members, it's available after March...but lucky us, Chris brought it out. I was in love...didn't dump that wine at all. If there is heaven in a cup, it's from Table for Four. Love that it's a blend, and it truly embodies all of their great vines. We tried "Manny's Blend" - which is a mix of their Syrah and Zinfandel...but I found it too sweet for a wine for me. I couldn't see myself drinking the entire glass, sorry I dumped that. Still a great wine, but not one for me. To end the wonderful tasting, we did comparable of Cabernet Sauvignon Port & Zinfandel Port...you indulge yourself when you have this. Perfect little ounce of it, and wow...you are floating in a cloud of fluff. Our pic is the Cabernet Sauvignon Port...it's not as sweet as the Zinfandel Port, but it's got a great bolder flavor to it as well. I'm thrilled that we started our wonderful wine tasting at Jessup Cellars, because they are always helpful, friendly and always knowledgeable. Yes, the wine prices are slightly higher here but you really do pay for what you get. It's totally worth it, and since I flew up I was able to get a shipper box to check in as luggage. You can drop it from 10 stories...and the wine won't break!!. They are one of the few places that offer complimentary tastings as well. You'll just fall in love with all their wines! read more

My aunt and I stumbled upon this place as we were killing time before we could check in to our Air BnB. I'm not familiar with Yountville so I Google'd "dog friendly tasting rooms" and boy am I glad that I did!! This place was phenomenal!!! The staff was super warm, friendly and inviting. My dog Bubba was welcome in to their tasting room with open arms. Most places only allow dogs in their outside areas, but at Jessup the fur babies are more than welcome to take a respite in their cool tasting room. They even provided dog treats and water bowels for him while we were there. We went on a Tuesday so it was relatively quiet, but the staff mentioned that they are both dog and family friendly. We did the wine and cheese/chocolate tasting. Every single one was divine! Matt, our wine expert for the afternoon, was so knowledgeable not only about the wines, but about the Napa Valley as well. He was a great conversationalist and made our impromptu afternoon so lovely and enjoyable. We ended up staying for more than 2 hours, and I definitely left with a few bottles in my bag. This will be one of my stops from now on when I'm in the Napa Valley. I highly recommend making Jessup Cellars one of your stops. You won't be disappointed. read more

The tasting area was small and beautiful. There was a little bar, as well as a few individual tables, where our group landed. The staff was delightful. The wines were delicious. This was my second time at Jessup and I arrived on a Saturday morning, staying about 45 minutes. Ambiance - (4/5) The tasting room is clean, classic, and consists of one smaller room with a counter and some tables and another room with art and tables for private tastings. It was not very busy and there were some crackers and chocolate to snack on. They are also dog-friendly! Service - (5/5) Our pourer was very friendly, personable, and recommended some additional wineries. We were also given two bonus pours, which is always nice. Cost - (3/5) One tasting was for $20 for five pours, waived with a purchase of wine Wines - (3/5) We tasted some real stand out wines here, including Manny's Blend (one of the bonus pours) which might have been the best red we tasted on our trip. The tasting had the following: 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley $28 - light floral 2009 Zinfandel, Napa Valley $39 - peppery, fruity, nice body 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley $55 - peppery, sharp, nothing standout 2008 Petite Syrah, Napa Valley $49 - sweet start, peppery end 2009 "Juel", Napa Valley $89 - 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, big, tannic Bonus pours: Manny's Blend $45 - jammy, big flabor, peppery finish 2008 Zinfandel Port, Estate Crown $38 - half the amount of residual sugar as other ports, was still sweet and very flavorful We bought one of the Sauvignon Blanc and two bottles of the Manny's Blend. Ok, *drumroll* Jessup Cellars is pretty much the best place you can go wine-tasting (that is not a festival, just a tasting room), ever. How do I know? As a girl in her mid-twenties, whom has at least a drink a week (and more in my early-twenties), I have indulged in many-a wine and beer tastings. Jessup Cellars is professional, they don't try to sidestep you in the price of their bottles (though no lie, as a twenty-something I find pretty steep) and each bottle is well-constructed as the price would command but nothing about this winery is pretentious. When I did my tasting here, I was led to a small room and they had a plate of cheese, fruit and chocolate ready for the wine. We were told which wine to pair with what and a long detailed history Jessup ensued. It was educational and good to know where my wine is coming from! I certainly enjoyed the tasting thoroughly. So my two cents is, if you're going to do a one tasting for the rest of your life (though I have no idea why you would only do one), Jessup is it! read more

This tasting room at Jessup was BY FAR the favorite place we visited while doing a napa tasting tour. NOTE - This is NOT their actual winery/ vineyard, which is located about 10 miles away and not open to visitors. (They truck the grapes, supplies and wines between the 3 locations). So this is a boutique winery.... Which means a) it is slightly pricey (cheap end $35 bottle, high end $100 bottle) b) this is some killer wine you can't buy in stores. $20 tasting (it used to be free until 2012 - it went from $0 to $20)!! The cab was the best cab I've ever tasted. Table for four was a close second (this is the wine they are known for - i was informed there are celebrities that visit and have their wine shipped to them). Bay was the guy who did our tasting and damn is he knowledgeable about wine! Born and raised in napa, worked on a family vineyard, he ever had viticulture flash cards (wine dork haha). He was probably a large majority of what made our experience so incredible. I would definitely return to taste/pick up a bottle on my next trip up to Napa. read more

I visited 10 wineries in 2 days and this place was at the top of my faves for two reasons... Reason # 1: BOB. He was fabulous! So knowledgable and funny. A wine connoisseur minus the snobbiness. If he does your wine tasting consider yourself lucky. Reason #2: Manny's Blend If you're not into sweet wines then forget it, but this stuff is da bomb! Next time I'm in Napa I'll be hitting this place up once again. read more

We checked this place out because we saw that they had free tastings on Yelp. Ha! not quite, try $20 for four or five wines! unfortunately, they only had two whites, one of which they were sold out of:(. Interestingly they only sell their wines on location. IMO a bit of a disappointment and not really worth the money as their is no redeeming atmosphere here. Please note, we are from the Finger Lakes wine region in New York where wine tours are equally beautiful (if not more so) but have much better value (think $3-5 tastings) and customer service. read more

Even though I called a few hours earlier to make an appointment for my party, I felt like we were being penalized because I had called the same day of the visit. We were told on the phone that they were so busy that we'd have to do a stand-up bar tasting, instead of a seated tasting. Well, that doesn't sound too bad if we can still get in, so we accepted it. But when we arrived, only two of the 5 or 6 tables were being used, and one of the two seated groups left about two minutes after we got there. I asked if we could get one of the four available tables as the bar was crowded and it was clear no-one else was using them, but was given a condescending "no". It felt like we were being judged as not worthy of the extra attention they would need to pay to us if we were seated. There were exactly three people seated in the entire seating area, but about twelve at the rather small bar area. They even asked us not to use one of the little round tables separate from the bar itself. The guy serving us from behind the bar seemed real nice, but the woman who seemed to be in charge of the appointments (larger young woman with shorter hair and huge round earrings), was very unpleasant. This was our last winery of the day and a seated tasting would have been much appreciated. Our party, well-dressed and well-behaved, and made up of a restaurant owner and two medical professionals, had purchased wine at every prior stop, but actually didn't buy any at Jessup. Maybe your pre-judgment of us was not a good business model? I have actually visited Jessup a number of times, and tend to go there when we have out-of-town guests. But I now think there are better options. read more
