Our first trip to Alaska.. Andrew took us out. We saw everything from puffin to humpback whales to starfish, otters and tons of seals!! It was an awesome time. Boat was clean and prepared . Andrew was enjoyable and informative. My husband usually gets very seasick, but Andrew did such a wonderful job guiding the boat...Highly recommend the company!!!

This excursion was amazing!!! Had such a great time. We saw jellyfish, bald eagles, seals, sea lions, otters, and goats scaling the cliffs of the mountain side. The scenery was amazing, as well!! Snow capped mountains, pristine water, glaciers, and just overall amazing views of the fjords. And, the staff were great!! This is an absolute must when in the area!!

What an amazing experience. My husband and I booked a private tour and Andrew was our captain. He was knowledgable and the boat was incredibly smooth. I get motion sickness so easily, but this was a dream for me and Andrew was very kind to pay attention to the best spots and how to avoid choppy waters. We were lucky to see two whales, star fish, seals, otters, eagles, and so much more. Can't wait to come back!

Our guide was so great ! He asked how we wanted to the day to go and did not disappoint. He knew all the right places to take us where we would most likely see wildlife. What an amazing day! The view was like nothing I have ever seen before.

He spotted a bald eagle for us!

This was absolutely hands down the best experience!!! Connor was absolutely fantastic, the ride was absolutely beautiful and we really loved every second of it. They keep in touch with all the boats to make sure you miss NO opportunity to see all the wildlife that are presenting themselves. It was a tiny boat so it made it feel so much more personal rather than the bigger boats. It was heated in the cabin if you stayed in there but so nice to be able to move around the boat and stay outside the whole time. We were a party of 4 and we had the whole boat to ourselves. You will be immensely happy with the money spent and make great memories for sure!

Booked a half day tour with Captain Andrew. Everyone in our group, including my 2 1/2 year old toddler had the best time. Easy cruising through the bay telling us about the geography and history of the area. Spotted bald eagles, stellar sea lions, puffins, seals, and sea otters. Even learned there are 2 types of sea gulls. A week or so late for any whale sightings but nevertheless this was a highlight of our time in Alaska!

An awesome tour service and our favorite excursion a weekend trip to Alaska -- we came a little after the peak tourist season and were having a hard time finding activities, but they operate year-round and I seriously cannot recommend this crew enough! They take out smaller boats of ~6 people -- we were able to see a lot more than some of the larger boats, and get stunning views of the glaciers in Kenai Fjords National Park. The boats are comfortable and have a heated cabin, and the back deck is perfect to get some fresh air. They're communicative and helped us navigate to the dock when we were a bit lost, as well as kept us in-the-loop about weather conditions. We got lucky with the most beautiful sunshine in late September! The guides are knowledgeable and attentive -- we had requests to see wildlife and beach the boat. It was no longer orca season, but we saw sea lions, lots of bald eagles, jelly fish, otters, and more. We stopped over on a small sand bar and got to explore the land, and our captain had hot chocolate waiting for us when we got back! Resurrection Bay is beautiful and these folks are the best people to show it to you -- I cannot recommend it enough, and can't wait to be back for another tour during the summertime!

INCREDIBLE once in a lifetime trip. Captain Calley was first of all amazing at her job. She was friendly, excited, funny, personable and very knowledgeable. We were so lucky to have a sunny, flat, beautiful day to be out on the water. She knew the area, had a great eye for eagles, mountain goats and birds, and knew everything about every bird we came across. She got us to some gorgeous views, gave us recommendations for food and coffee in Seward, and just made you feel like you've been friends forever. Will absolutely recommend and I will definitely be back again.

We booked the 3.5hr tour, and was hands down the best tour I've been on. Captain Andrew was very informative and knowledgeable. We were able to see a multitude of sea fowl, otters, sea lions, and so much more! Highly recommend this tour!

An absolute must do experience! Sea Otters, River Otters, Eagles, Mountain Goats, Stellar Sea Lions, Dall's Porpoises and countless sea and shorebirds. I can't say enough good things about this trip and our amazing captain Joanna who was exceptionally knowledgeable about the wildlife, geology and history of the area. Communication with the business owners and whole team was seamless.

Our captain was great, very knowledgeable. The sites were beautiful. Would 100 % recommend you do this!

As a lifelong Alaskan a whale watching has been on my bucket list and I finally got to cross it off. I chose a smaller company to avoid the crowds and I'm glad that I did. There were four of us plus the captain. Calley was super friendly and knowledgeable not only about the marine life we were viewing as well as the surrounding landscape and glaciers. We spent a lot of time heading far into the Gulf of Alaska to catch the Orca pod as it was a big to see on all of our lists. We got to see even see one of the new Orca calves! We also got to see humpbacks, sea lions, many different marine birds, orcas and porpoise. There were lots of glaciers to see. We didn't see some of the stops as we were chasing Orca, but next time :)

The snow-capped mountains were incomprehensibly wondrous! The massive blue glaciers were numerous! The oceans, streams, rivers, and lakes were plentiful. We were anble to see sea otters, stellar sea lions, Dall's porpoises, puffins, and a juvenile eagle, among several other types of birds. All of that being said, my most cherished memory was seeing the humpback whales spouting and playfully rolling around in the seawater! It, unfortunately, is STILL my dream to see a whale breaching the water! After gaining the knowledge bestowed upon us by this crew and before returning back to the harbor, we were served lunch. Stale tortilla chips & salsa were served alongside a re-heated burrito. Being pre-heated and then reheated, the burritos were not at all appetizing! The salsa did not help the tortillas at all, either. The crew aboard this boat was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and very patient with this particular group of passengers, many of whom ended up hanging over the sides of the boat while seasickness. I definitely recommend this tour and hope you get this particular crew (Captain Greg, Senior Bobbi, Clint, and Max.)

A special shout-out to the two young servers on board. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the cruise. When we reached the glacier, they even helped us take photos while we held pieces of glacier ice, creating memories we'll treasure forever. I would 100% recommend this cruise--as long as you don't get seasick. The water can get rough. Unfortunately, even though our daughter took Dramamine before boarding, she still became seasick and couldn't fully enjoy the experience. If you're prone to motion sickness, consider talking to your doctor about stronger prevention options before your trip. Overall, this cruise is an absolute must-do in Seward. Dress warmly, bring a good camera, and prepare for one of the most unforgettable experiences Alaska has to offer!

Several recommended Alaska Saltwater Lodge for its small boat tours. So I called to book. They don't always answer their phones so you have to leave a message or call back. I found the best time to call was after 5pm Alaska time. You meet the tour in front of a bakery across from the visitor center. There's a $10 all day parking lot there. Met the deckhand Joe who was really nice with a great sense of humor. Walked the 11 of us out to the boat where we met the captain Lindsey. A little safety instructions and off we went. Right in the harbor were a couple of bald eagles. Father out Lindsey spotted some humpback whales bubble feeding. It was a pod of about 20. We got up close - probably about 25 yards and what an amazing experience. Also saw seals, otters, puffins, sea lions and of course the glacier. The day was beautiful, mostly sunny, but what made the experience was Joe and Lindsey. We're out there 9 hours so had a chance to chat with both of them about living in Alaska, how she liked captaining the boat, etc. Really made the experience much more personal. When we got off we all agreed it was more like a day of boating with friends instead of a tour. Can't recommend Saltwater Lodge tours highly enough for their small group sizes, personalized service and great crew.

What a great little town & superb hosts! James & Kathleen made me feel right at home in their cozy, quiet, & comfortable B&B. The bed was comfy, the room was just the right size, & the curtains cancelled most of the constant sunlight shining in Alaska during the time of year in which I visited (this is very important, trust me). I found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality of my quarters, as well as my proximity to eateries & the dock. It was a quick walk from my B&B to the dock in order to meet up with everyone taking the Full-Day, Small-Group Whale-Watching, Wildlife, & Glacier Tour (the same people who have the Dairy Hill Lodging also head this tour). Once aboard, the cloud cover parted & we immediately starting seeing bald eagles & otters. We eventually also saw seals, two types of puffins, sea lions, & a large variety of beautiful birds. The calving glaciers sounded like thunder (you realize how small you are when they're close). Humpbacks & Orcas breached & played close to our boat several times, which was breathtaking. I was giddy when we discovered that two Dall's porpoises decided to have a little fun with us & glided alongside our boat, jumping & having a ball. It truly was an all-day adventure full of memorable moments & well worth the money/time. I cannot recommend the tour highly enough & thoroughly loved their Dairy Hill Lodging accommodations. I really hope I can return to Seward, & if I do, these guys will definitely be a part of my itinerary!

The window seats at the tables are first come, first served, so that's something to keep in mind. The service was good, and everyone throughout the tour was very helpful and kind. The captain and crew were great and provided lots of interesting information about the surrounding area, wildlife, and glaciers. They also offered a tequila tasting when we reached the glacier area, with the tequila served over glacier ice, which was a unique touch. At the end of the cruise, they gave us a complimentary brownie, which was a nice little treat. Drink price and quality plus hot dog that we ordered were good. When booking online, we had the option to choose our meal, and we requested a gluten-free turkey club. Unfortunately, when our section was called for food, the gluten-free meal wasn't ready and took quite a while to arrive. Also the regular snack option included chips and a granola bar, while the gluten-free option came with two bags of chips instead. It would have been nice to have a little more variety for the gluten-free option. Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise, the scenery, and the wonderful staff. It was a memorable experience and I would recommend it.
