My family and I faced a difficult roadblock with our dog, Bronson, earlier this month when we learned that our 6 yr bully had an intestinal blockage. For a moment, we felt hopeless-until we found Dr. Cruz. We truly cannot thank him enough for taking Bronson's case and giving him the care he needed. Thanks to his expertise, the squeaker toy causing the blockage was successfully removed from Bronson's intestine. We're happy to share that Bronson has made an amazing recovery and is back to his usual self. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Cruz and the entire team at Jet Hospital for their compassion, skill, and care during such a stressful time. Thank you for giving our boy a second chance.

Before finding Jet's Pet Hospital, I visited several veterinary hospitals and was quoted thousands of dollars for my dog's massive tumor removal surgery. I truly feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Cruz. Despite the risks involved, I trusted him, and I can honestly say he is doing God's work caring for our beloved pets. Not only did Dr. Cruz successfully perform the surgery, but he also personally reached out afterward to check on my dog's recovery. That level of compassion and dedication is rare, and it meant so much to me. It's clear that he genuinely cares about both his patients and their families. Even though the hospital is a bit of a drive for me, I will absolutely be making Jet's Pet Hospital my dog's primary veterinary clinic. The quality of care, kindness, and professionalism from Dr. Cruz and his entire staff make it more than worth the trip. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Cruz and his amazing team. Thank you for giving my dog a second chance and for treating him with such skill, compassion, and love. I can't recommend Jet's Pet Hospital highly enough.

Dr. Cruz, what an amazing veterinarian! He has amazing passion for his patients and their families. Not only passionate about his work, he is also an amazingly skilled surgeon. He is a gift to all who have found him and allowed to treat their family members (pets). Kind, considerate, and genuinely cares. It shows not only when you meet and speak with him but with his entire staff. What a rare find in a crazy fast paced world. Dr. Cruz, I can't thank you enough for taking a chance and saving Bronson! You are a true hero ! Thank you again and again and again for all you have done that allowed us to continue to spend time together with Bronson.

Excellent experience. The vet was incredibly caring and took me in right away for a last-minute emergency after my cat vomited blood. He calmly guided me through everything and made sure I understood the situation. Before I left, he even gave me his personal phone number in case my cat vomited blood again, which truly showed how much he cares. I usually go to another clinic in Newport, but I'll definitely be returning here for both of my cats. Very grateful for the care and service.

Our cat fell ill and we took her in to see Dr. Cruz. It turned out to be the best decision for us! The service (staff included) is amazing and Dr. Cruz is an experienced and highly compassionate veterinarian which made navigating my cats medical crisis that much more comforting. Most importantly, our Luna survived surgery and is thriving. The pricing is reasonable as well as fair. I will not be taking my pets anywhere else but Dr. Cruz!

Thank you for helping my baby boy with his surgery :) I'm happy his MCT was removed fast and safely. My brother recommended me here they're nice and informative. He's fussy with the vet so I do appreciate their patience with him now he's in recovery mode in his little recovery onesie.

Dr. Cruz was absolutely amazing from start to finish! My cat needed urgent surgery on very short notice, and he was just a quick text away. He even took time from his family to make sure my cat got the care she needed. His genuine concern and compassion truly stood out. Thanks to Dr. Cruz and his team, we were able to come in the very next morning for surgery, and everything went perfectly. He successfully removed the entire pyometra without any complications, and my cat has been recovering beautifully at home. She's healthy, active, and back to her normal self and less feisty! We have a 2-week post-op visit soon to remove her sutures, and even though we're driving all the way from DTLA to Fullerton, it's 100% worth it for the care and kindness they provide. Dr. Cruz and his staff are incredible, I can't recommend them enough!

Dr Cruz was by far the best vet I have ever encountered his patience and understanding was exactly what we needed the process of getting our pup taken care of same day when everywhere else wanted to schedule appointments he was able to help our pup get quick relief. Thank you for everything!!!

We've brought both of our dogs here. Our Doberman had a huge mass tumor that had developed, while other vets were not able to help much with the procedure, Dr Cruz was able to. I could not thank him enough. We've also brought in our mom's puppy for vaccines. Dr. Cruz was very kind, patient, and took the time to really explain everything clearly. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and want the best for them. The staff was also friendly and the whole visit felt very welcoming and professional. I left feeling reassured and confident about my pet's care. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cruz to anyone looking for a vet who is compassionate and knowledgeable. It's always been great experience with Dr. Cruz at Jets Pet Hospital !

I was in a really desperate situation when my dog needed emergency surgery for pyometra. I called vet after vet, and the cost was so overwhelming that I honestly felt like giving up. When I called Jet's Pet Hospital, everything changed. They took the time to understand my situation and worked with me to come up with a price that was reasonable and manageable. From start to finish, their attention to detail and level of care during my dog's surgery was truly amazing. Thanks to them, my dog was given a chance, and I'm incredibly grateful. I highly recommend Jet's Pet Hospital to anyone who truly cares about their pet's well-being.

We used to have a vet close to us that we loved. He got us through a couple of our dogs. He eventually retired but we still went to that clinic out of habit. We didn't like the direction the clinic went. Our little girl, Juniper was having issues and we decided to bring her to Jet's. Just walking and the feel of the clinic reminded me of how we felt with our old vet. The staff and the vet were awesome, straight forward, and I felt they genuinely cared. Juniper needed surgery to remove a stone from her bladder. The vet conferred with us himself and gave us the cost. What a breath of fresh air. Taking care of our pets is stressful enough. It was nice to deal with caring, honest people. We have found a new home for our dog's care!

Larry @ the vet when I literally thought he was going to die.
    Katherine H.

Dr. Cruz and the team at Jet's Pet Hospital are nothing short of miracle workers. I brought my cat Larry in when he was on the brink. He had zero energy, was not eating, was severely dehydrated, and in kidney failure. I was preparing for the worst. Dr. Cruz did exploratory surgery once he was stable, and discovered an intestinal blockage from something he'd swallowed and took action right away. Larry literally came back to life under his care. The entire staff treated us well from the moment we walked in. They were kind, calm, and clearly passionate about what they do. Dr. Cruz isn't just a vet; he's a life-saver. His compassion is obvious in everything he does, and I'll never stop being grateful for finding him when we needed him most. If you're looking for someone who leads with heart and heals with skill, Dr. Cruz is your person. I trust him with my whole heart (and Larry's nine lives).

    Great successful surgery

Around our house, he's simply known as The Cat Whisperer. Somehow he has this magical "Dr. Ash method" that can calm even my most nervous, difficult cats. Cats that normally hide, hiss, or make everyone work for it seem to trust him. I still haven't figured out his secret! What really sets Dr. Ash apart is the time he gives every patient and every pet parent. He never makes you feel rushed. He explains blood work and treatment options in incredible detail, answers every question, and has even called me in the evening to personally discuss test results. That level of care and dedication is almost unheard of. I also want to recognize his amazing staff. Raquel, Andrea, and everyone at the clinic are always so kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Whether they're drawing blood, collecting urine samples, trimming nails, or giving one of my cats a sanitary trim, they handle each cat with such compassion and professionalism. You can tell they truly love what they do. I've trusted Dr. Ash and his team with my cats for many years, and I wouldn't trust anyone more. They treat every one of my cats as if they were their own, and that means the world to me. And here's the highest compliment I can give him: if Dr. Ash ever moved to Timbuktu... I'd be pricing moving trucks the same day. That's how much I trust him. Thank you, Dr. Ash, Raquel, Andrea, and the entire team for the exceptional care you've given my furry family over the years. You are all simply the best.

She was perfectly fine before the visit. But when I arrived to pick her up, the groomer carried her out to me. She seemed different from her usual self. After the groomer put her down, she kept trying to sit down instead of walking normally. At the time, I assumed she was simply stressed from the grooming appointment. After we got home, she continued showing the same behavior and I realized she was unable to climb the stairs. Later that evening, I discovered significant bruising and swelling on her left thigh. I spent the night applying cold compresses and closely monitoring her condition. What disappointed me was their response when I called the shop the next morning. The manager did not apologize or express concern for my dog's condition. I was simply told that they didn't know what had happened. Later, a friend told me that one of the groomers from this shop had said the staff laughed after my phone call and commented that what I described was impossible, and hearing that was very upsetting. Animals cannot tell us when they are hurt. People who care for them should respond with genuine compassion and empathy, not laughter or dismissal. The attached photos show the bruising on my dog's left thigh, and I have also included a photo of her normal leg for comparison.

I still love this vet practice. Our dogs continue to be clients of Sunnycrest Animal Care Center,…read moreand we are very happy with the clinic. The staff are kind, the techs clearly care about our dogs, and we especially love Dr. Boram Lee. Our sweet girl recently had a sudden eye issue that scared us half to death, and Dr. Lee did an excellent job diagnosing and treating her. She clearly cares and works hard. We've also had good experiences with Dr. Tomko and Dr. Gaertner. That said, embedded in this 5-star experience is a very serious 1-star experience with Dr. Blanco, and I feel obligated to be very clear about it so other pet owners are aware. I hope all of your pets are able to avoid the negative outcome our poor pup experienced. A couple of years ago, we brought our other dog in because he was squinting and clearly uncomfortable. We suspected autoimmune dry eye (KCS), which is common in his breed, and we told her we had been giving him lubricating eye drops around the clock, which were helping. She was extremely dismissive and demeaning. She literally said to me, "Why would you want a dog with dry eyes?"--even though she herself has a dog with KCS. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, she insisted it was allergies (which, based on later visits, seems to be her default diagnosis even without clear signs). He never has had symptoms of allergies then or even now. She shamed me for even looking into the cause of his discomfort and scoffed when she found out my profession in the medical field, as if I was overstepping by trying to figure out what was going on with my dog. I simply was trying to provide him relief while waiting for the weekend to be over so he could get to the vet. She performed a dry eye test and said it was normal. What we later learned is that the test was invalid because we had given him lubricating drops beforehand. She knew this--we told her, and she documented it--but she did not tell us that it would invalidate the test, did not instruct us to stop drops beforehand, and did not repeat the test properly. Over multiple subsequent visits, we kept asking the same questions: Why is he squinting all the time? Why is there brown pigmentation developing in his eyes? Every time, it was dismissed. No real investigation, no change in plan. This year, when our other dog had an eye issue, Dr. Boram Lee immediately diagnosed dry eye and explicitly told us not to give lubricating drops before testing. She also tested our first dog, and his dry eye was significantly worse and clearly had been going on for a while. We took him to a veterinary ophthalmologist today, who confirmed the outcome: he now has vision impairment from chronic, untreated dry eye. He has a large area of pigment (about 1 cm) blocking his vision and fibrosis causing overall haziness. We were told this damage is largely irreversible and was very much preventable with appropriate diagnosis and treatment earlier. So to be clear: our dog spent years squinting and in pain--essentially feeling like he had sand in his eyes--while being dismissed. And now, at 7 years old, he has permanent vision loss that could have been avoided. We took our concerns to the head of the clinic, Dr. Glassberg, who was gracious and had a dignified balance between being supportive of his employee but also acknowledging our concerns. I still recommend Sunnycrest because we have had genuinely excellent care from other vets there. But I would strongly advise avoiding Dr. Blanco. This was not just bad bedside manner. This was a missed diagnosis with real consequences. If she cannot correctly diagnose a condition her own dog has--and dismisses owners raising valid concerns--there is a serious issue. There is no way to undo the damage. However, with clear evidence from the specialist that this resulted from untreated dry eye, I am hopeful the practice will take full accountability and step in to assist with these costs. His condition could have easily been managed by a general vet, but now we have to see the specialist to try to recover whatever we can. I wish there were a way to turn back time and prevent this vision loss, but sadly I do not have this option and it breaks my heart. I thought if I was attentive to my dogs and got them regular veterinary care, these outcomes could be avoided. I'm heartbroken that despite constant vigilance and repeated veterinary visits, this preventable outcome occurred. Now, I will trust my instincts instead of blindly trusting professionals and aim to only get my dogs care from vets I truly trust. I still love Sunnycrest and am a happy client there, but please heed my warning about Dr. Blanco and maybe my dog's suffering can save yours from a bad outcome. If sharing this prevents even one pet from going through what ours did, it's worth it.

I have been bringing my Doberman to this veterinary office since she was only a few months old,…read morewhich made my most recent experience extremely disappointing. My dog was in heat during this visit and was understandably a little more anxious than usual. While she did growl, this is not typical behavior for her, and I expected a veterinarian with years of experience and familiarity with my dog to be able to assess the situation professionally. Instead, the veterinarian never properly examined her. For most of the appointment, he only peeked his head into the room and would not come in. After I addressed my concerns, he finally entered but remained pressed against the wall, visibly fearful of my dog. It was shocking to see this level of discomfort from someone who has been treating her since she was a puppy. What was even more frustrating was being charged an examination fee when no meaningful examination actually took place. I specifically questioned the charge because, from my perspective, there was no exam performed. It felt unfair to pay for a service that was never provided, not to mention when I called to schedule the appointment I let the receptionist know that my dog was still on her period. Instead of telling me that it was too soon for her to come in for an examination she still scheduled my appointment. Once we began the "consultation" the vet tells me that it's too soon and that she needs to wait a couple of months. Why couldn't that have been said over the phone? We wouldn't have wasted our time to come in for a useless appointment, let alone be charged for an exam if the vet didn't even examine her?! I understand that safety is important, but if a veterinarian is unable or unwilling to properly assess a patient, that should be communicated honestly rather than charging for a full exam. After bringing my dog here for an entire year, this experience left me feeling disappointed, frustrated, and will no longer be bringing my dog here for any future visits.
