My 11-year-old labrador had been seen at an emergency vet for vomiting and dry heaving, where X-rays showed suspected foreign material in his duodenum that might have required surgery. Even though my dog wasn't an established patient with Dr. Cruz, he still took the time to respond to me and even let me know he could perform the surgery if it became necessary. He gave me clear instructions on what to watch for and how to manage my dog at home in the meantime. Thankfully, my dog ended up passing the foreign material on his own and is doing much better now. Personal information was shared for my animal, not for the purpose of harassing me after I had left as a client. Spoke to the California State BAR to see if any of this is legal, it is not. Reports for harassment have now been put into Fullerton PD, the California State BAR who makes sure people's follow the laws also recommended going to court the retaliation, withholding of care, intentional infliction of distress, essentially endless power plays. This has gone from "they broke the law & overall give bad care" to " I am fearing for my physical safety." Also all of this was after a cease and assist was issued officially for my safety. Because Dr Cruz has stated many times that he feels following the law is a matter of camaraderie not obligation, he completely ignored that cease and desist. Luckily Fullerton PD is really great about situations that mirror domestic violence, even in professional settings. They have been amazing through all of this! Best experience I've had with a Vet in far too long to remember. My cat Wiley consumed a string, as well as a mountain of hair,& it became lodged in her small intestine. I am so thankful I found Jet's Pet Hospital to perform my dog's surgery. My senior giant breed dog needed a mass removed from her face and our regular vet's estimate was way beyond what I could afford. Dr. Cruz had me send photos of the growth and was able to provide me with a very reasonable quote. He was able to schedule surgery a few days later with a preliminary exam. Everything was as expected with the exam, so we moved forward with the same price quoted! They did not try to upsell or recommend any unnecessary tests or treatments. 2 years ago, I met Dr.Cruz when he performed a surgery on my dog Maddux. He was the only vet who explained what was going on with him and his kidney stones that were stuck in his urethra. Dr.Cruz was able to take my dog in the same day I reached out for support to complete the surgery. He even cleaned his teeth while he was under anesthesia. I don't know what I would've done without his support during that health scare. Most recently, (5/1/25) I reached out to him to help me with a rash my dog had that was not going away and only getting worse. I made an appointment at his new clinic. He took a look at it and recommended a steroid shot, 2 kinds of medications, and a special shampoo. Prior to the visit, my dog wouldn't even allow me to touch his tummy. 3 weeks out and my dog's stomach is so much better. He's back to his normal self. During the 3week check up I asked about flea and tick medication because summer is coming up. Dr.Cruz recommended I also add the heart worm medication. So they tested Maddux, and within less than 10 minutes we had the results and were given his flea/ tick and heart worm medication. So thankful for everyone at the office, Dr.Cruz and his staff are great! I've recommended Dr.Cruz to many of my friends. Stay away with a 10 foot pole if you can! Dr Cruz should not be a vet, he borders on animal abuse during his exams. They only have footage of their lobby and not their exam rooms so they don't capture it on footage. Dr Cruz yanked my cat by its tail and then by its mid section to pull it out from under neath the table and dragged her face against the floor. I have never seen a "vet" act like this. I'm not sure if it's because he's a primary dog vet but do not take your animals here if they mean anything to you. I had to end the exam short and he got incredibly defensive and started talking about how he's better than other vets. I also heard them coaxing people in the lobby to leave a good review for a discount which explains their reviews on help. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN AS HE IS NOT IN IT FOR THE LOVE OF ANIMALS AND SHOULD BE REPORTED AND WILL BE TO THE CVMB. read more

Dr. Cruz has been a god send for us. Our dog quickly develop a mass on her abdomen and in the span of 4 weeks it started to ulcerate and perforate. My shared ownership with this dog made it difficult to agree on treatment options due to costs and possible surgery complications. We were looking at $7,000+ for mass removal at other vet hospitals, but here they just charged us $2,000. Dr. Cruz was able to give itemized estimates and was extremely responsive to our messages. He was not condescending at all and very understanding of our situation. He gave his opinion on removing the mass and within less than a week he was able to remove it. He's true to his words and I trust him completely with our dog. Dr. Cruz kept us updated on how the surgery and followed-up with us several times post-surgery so we could ask questions. We were considering options of blood transfusion due to a potential complication our dog had, and he was very accommodating and let us know what to expect in costs and preparation. When I learned that Ozzy urgently needed a blood transfusion due to anemia, I was devastated. I reached out to several clinics and ERs, but many were asking for $2,000 to $4,000 just for the transfusion, not including exam fees, additional charges, and up to $1,000 for an overnight stay. I contacted numerous organizations, but none of them responded. Then, one evening, I received a text from Dr. Cruz. He had heard about Ozzy's situation, offered helpful advice, and quoted me a reasonable price. He also suggested we find a donor, as ordering blood from a blood bank would cost approximately $1,500! Dr. Cruz went above and beyond by helping me find a donor. He reached out to a rescue organization, which assisted us in finding a suitable donor. Within two days, we were able to complete the transfusion. Although the blood transfusion is only a temporary solution, we are still working to determine the underlying cause of Ozzy's anemia, and Dr. Cruz is committed to helping us get to the bottom of it.
