My pet cat had an onset of severe allergies. His standard vet without really hearing our concerns said probably fleas because of the area we're in. Before bringing in the pet I looked up what could be causing the symptoms - I've had dogs before with flea outbreak so I know what flea eggs look like. I decided to try out dr woods to see if he he'd have other alternatives routes we could take and the risks; he listened and reasoned through some of the literature I found (I thought it could be allergies to a kibble we switched the cat to). He also explained that even though you don't visibly see flea eggs- pets could be allergic to a flea bite (which doesn't manifest into a flea outbreak). Made an appointment earlier this week and they were able to get me in to see Dr. Woods. I needed a checkup on my dog so it was nice they were able to get us in. I had called earlier to ask questions before making an appointment and they were really good about calling my back right away. Intake was quick and easy. They had paperwork I missed filling up before the appointment but it is short and completed in no time. The reception folks were super nice and chill -I had tried to go to a big name hospital vet last month and did not appreciate the attitude the front desk people gave. After intake, they weighed my dog and got us a room. We also didn't have to wait long to see the Dr. He was really calm which I liked as my dog is fearful reactive. Also, he was good about not pushing treatments for my boy that I did not feel comfortable about. I appreciate that reception also emailed an itemized copy of my receipt at end of day. The other clinic I had to call a week later to remind them to send it Service was great, I liked the people. Inside the clinic was cute and welcoming. It did smell like pee in the waiting room but it probably just happened before our appointment. I asked for training resources and and they gave me a card of a local trainer. I love them so much that we drive from LA to Orange! We've been going to Dr. Woods for about six years now. My pet has a complex health history, including severe allergies and heart disease. Dr. Woods and his team are very kind and understanding. They never push unnecessary treatments. They are also very punctual. I've almost never waited more than five minutes for my appointment. I've had terrible experiences with LA vets who are dismissive, overprescribe medication, are consistently late, and are overpriced. Dr. Woods only prescribes necessary medications. They communicate with my wife and I in a timely manner. Refills and appointments are available when we need them. Most recently my young dog was very sick and on the verge of death. Every time I called she didn't know any information and said she would have to ask and call me back. She sounded so unsure like it was her first say everyday. She never called back. I've had two pets who have seen Dr Woods. A great supplement to traditional medicine and 3rd opinion for my pets. His staff is timely with responses and always professional. I haven't been in the office to see what it looks like because it's not been accessible since COVID (even in 2023), but I am hoping that soon they will lift this so pet owners can be active in their pet's care. The doctor makes sure you understand what he's saying by speaking in layman's terms (Even though I'm a nurse and I understand a lot of things). I'm sure most people would appreciate that and the thorough time he takes with each pet. The only reason I give a lower rating is because I don't think the doctor or staff critically think about things when it comes to appointments and medication refills. They made me make an appointment to get a refill on a medication since it had been almost a year since last seen (last appointment 4/16 and today is 4/13). I agree that make a lot of sense. What didn't make sense was instead of thinking critically about the situation we are in and giving me the 5-6 more doses until my upcoming labs and US on 5/20, they want the doctor to do a physical exam and make recommendation as the pet is right now. That's not logical when his last labs and US was 6 months ago . I will have to stress out my terminally ill pet with two appointments where I might have worse results in a month where things need to once again be changed. Being a long term customer with multiple pets and compliant with their regimen means nothing to the doctor or staff. read more

Dr. Woods and his staff are wonderful. In my opinion, he is the most knowledgeable veterinarian on the west coast. Tigi, my 13 year old Yorkshire Terrier, and I have been seeing Dr. Woods for nearly 4 years -- following him from his office in Garden Grove now to Orange. When I first started looking for alternative medicine, he was one of the first and only, which is why I still travel from Phoenix, Arizona just to see him. What separates Dr. Woods from most veterinarians is his extensive knowledge of holistic medicine and the manner in which he treats his furry patients. He has kept Tigi off of prescription medications and has treated her incontinence problem with diet and Chinese medicine alone. As she ages and things change or certain problems resurface, he suggests slow adjustments to diet and medicine until the correct the problem. I never feel rushed through my appointments. He and his staff explain everything in great detail. When I am in need of medicine refills, his staff ships it out immediately. His conservative approach to medicine is assuring -- he treats the patient, not the disease. I especially am a huge fan of his use of ultrasounds to do internal organ/gut checks. For me, the ultrasounds bring a higher level of visual assurance knowing my pet is in good health. The new office is beautiful and very comfortable. The staff and veterinarian have been great with us. I used them a number of times for boarding our Senegal parrot. The vet and staff appear passionate in the care they provide for the care of dogs, cats and birds. They placed my Senegal in a separate room from the cats and dogs and it made me feel at ease when they took these precautions to avoid any potential accidents. They are great in keeping me informed while i am on vacation. I am glad I found a place very close to our home that would accommodate her. The staff and parrot have seem to get along perfectly without any reports of the parrot biting the vet or staff. I've had bad experiences with vets in the past, so I'm always leery to try a new doctor for my pup, but when she started limping out of the blue, I knew I needed to suck it up and take her in. I did research and loved that IVHC was a holistic veterinary office, so I made an appointment to bring her in. From start to finish, it was a great experience! Dr. Woods and his staff are the kindest most empathetic and gentle people. They are all in jobs perfect for each of them, as they all seem very happy, confident and knowledgeable in their aspects of the veterinarian office. The office is extremely clean and very tastefully decorated with an inviting feeling. Not your typical cold, stainless steel, animal hair everywhere animal office. I had to put my 13 year old shepherd with severe hip dysplasia down. I made an appointment and paid prior to the actual day. When I came in, they were ready for me even a little early. The private room (i believe there were three private rooms) was set up comfortably for us to sit on the floor with my dog on a large velour blanket with a pad underneath it. Dr. Woods was highly professional but also very personal and sensitive to our situation. The procedure was far less dreadful than I anticipated. He informed is exactly what to expect and gave us plenty of private time with my dog. In addition the price was better than other places I looked into.
