Looking for Detroit style pizza while visiting Lexington Kentucky, well Jet's pizza is your place. Arriving late in town for an unfortunate visit, Jet's pizza was open for delivery so I decided to give them a try. I ordered online via their website which as pretty easy to use. All varieties, choices, toppings, drinks and extras were displayed and the price was shown. Discounts were available and could be easily applied. I ordered for delivery service for I was so tired from my long journey. I listed the hotel and my room number as the delivery address. This is when it gets interesting; when the delivery person arrived and gave my name to the front desk, he was told I was not checked in at that hotel, why they would ay such a thing is beyond me. But the delivery person did not give up on me, instead, he called me directly and told me he was outside the hotel. I told him I would be right down. I love that this delivery person went the extra mile to make sure the pizza was delivered, he could have easily left. The pizza was good but I think the cheese was a little old; the next day I had an upset stomach with diarrhea. Luckily I had some medications. The pizza is Detroit style so it is tradition to be thick crust, stuffed with cheese and fresh toppings. Despite the later, I would be given them another try next time I'm in town. Jet's is the worst pizza place I have been to in Lexington. The custom service is poor and the pizza is horrible. I had a horrible experience and called and received a credit. The credit was only for half the amount I paid. They asked me to bring the pizza in, then they said it was not necessary. When I redeemed the credit I was told I only had half of what I paid. Okay, I have to admit I am a bit of a pizza snob. I curl my nose up at Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and all the "lesser" chains. Well, pretty much all the chains, except for Jet. I can't say they are the absolute best pizza I have ever eaten. I've been around the pizza world a bit. In Louisville, you've got hot competition like Imperazelli's and DiOrio's, and even in Lexington, Mad Mushroom is no slouch, especially with their deliciously cheesy pizzas. However, Jet holds it's own and stands above the chains. Far above, imo. Thick crust is tasty, and has the crunchy corners that make it delicious. It's fairly consistent, too. I've eaten it for years. The only time it falls down a little is when they rarely, but occasionally, overcook it. Even then, it's still good. Add a little red pepper, and it's golden for me. It's not cheap for a chain, but these days, none of them really are cheap. Even going to Sonic costs over $10 for a combo burger meal. So I still wouldn't call Jet's expensive. I do think when you're eating in, they could probably walk it to you table rather than expect you to sit down, then get back up and get the pizza. Table service is pretty iffy here. Sometimes you get it, often not, just depending on the person serving you and their temperament. But I have no major gripes. If you want solid Detroit-style pizza in Lexington, this is it for my tastes. read more

Ask for the cauliflower crust lightly baked, it is delicious. It's clean and bathrooms are clean and smell nice. The only reason I left off a star is that it's $17 for a small cauliflower crust pizza. read more

Well this was my first time eating out since Covid-19 swooped in and shut the world down. Honestly I've been skeptical of anything I didn't prepare myself. I was really wanting pizza today and we had never had Jet's before so we decided to give it a try. I placed my pickup order over the phone at 6:30 and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. We arrived at Jet's at 7:00. Upon arrival we did as instructed and called the number ready to give our order number to whoever answered. After 3 minutes of the phone ringing, it was finally picked up. I said hello, gave my order number and then the call disconnected. No acknowledgement that they heard me, just hung up. Now we start waiting. We see that there's only one young man bringing out the orders so we know it may be a while since several others are waiting. Minutes pass and it's 7:15, then 7:30, then 7:40. Finally here comes our order, 45-50 minutes past the time we were told. I understand it's a high stress time for everyone right now so no hard feelings. We got our pizza and left. Once we made it home I was anxious to taste everything. It looked good, hopefully the taste would be just as good. After popping everything in the oven for a few additional minutes just to be safe, we were ready to dig in. The pizza was just ok. Nothing memorable. No amazing taste, just an ok pizza. We got one round pepperoni with a garlic crust. I tasted no garlic whatsoever. We also got a Detroit style deep dish with bold pepperoni. Other than the pepperonis being a little smaller, there was no difference between the bold and regular pepperoni. They certainly tasted the same. The chicken Parmesan sub was unimpressive, and the cheese sticks were ok. Again, nothing memorable here, just bread with cheese on top. I wanted to give Jet's a try and now I've had it. I probably won't have it again anytime soon. I am glad that we were able to support Jet's during this crazy time. read more

A Cold ass pepperoni pizza was worth making an upset customer who was still understanding just sitting here wondering why I ever called jets. I will never eat at this location again. Ordered a small pizza ave arrived when they said it wood be ready. They had the door locked and a sign in the window with a phone number saying curbside only. I like Jets pizza a lot but I won't be ordering from there again. I placed my order at 4:26. I still hadn't received it at 6:26 so I called to check on it. I was told that it hadn't gone out yet but I could come pick it up. So essentially, I placed an order for delivery, upon me calling, they realized it hadn't gone out and that I was allowed to come pick up my one and half to two hour old pizza. The hilarious thing was I asked if when I came to pick up the pizza it would be hot (essentially asking if they would be making me new pizzas) and she said "it has been sitting in the hot box," as if that's what the customer wants is pizza that has been cooked for an hour and a half and has been sitting under a warmer. AWFUL SERVICE, managers don't care about customer needs. They look for a pity party any time they cant follow through with an offer THEY made. THEY offered delivery during a snowstorm. I ordered before the storm hit and it still took 3 hours to deliver, my food was so cold, there was ice forming, and my pizza box had been dented so much my food was exposed. I also ordered a 2L and recieved a 20oz. I was refused a refund and told there was nothing anyone could do. I called the corporate office and never recieved a response. Horrible customer service. Called a total of 3 times to try and order pizza. Was told the first time they don't deliver to my address when the restaurant is .9 miles from my house and they had delivered there previously a week before. Second time I called to verify that and they said it was not true, they would deliver but offered no apologies, took my order and credit card number but did not ask my name or address. Was told it would be 30-45 min. Waited over an hour and called to check up on the order only to be told it was never actually put in. Told the kid on the phone not to even worry about it and he just hung up. I try to give places the benefit of the doubt because Of everything going on and I have worked in food service before but I still do not believe paying customers should be treated this way. Stopped in today to order a Detriot Style Pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms to take home. Waited a little longer due asking for crust to be well done. The girl that took my order asked specifically what kind of crust I wanted and the Detroit Style is the only the reason I get pizza from Jet's. They call my name and the pizza is a thin crust, mind you this order is to go. I asked for a refund as I didnt want to wait on another pizza and some guy came to the register and said we don't do refunds which I paid $17.99 cash, we only give store credit. I just wanted my money back. I leave with a pizza I didn't want. I promise I will never spend another cent at any Lexington, KY area Jet's Pizza and that sucks because I have been a fan of Jet's Detroit style pizza for years. Awesome to see how you treat your customers. Well done thin crust sucks, guess the garbage can will like it. I wasn't trying to be a pain. I just wanted my money back and was going to move on. Very simple request that wasn't worth honoring and losing a many year customer. I guess Jet's track record of poor customer service finally caught up to me. My review is based upon the customer service of this location. I was disappointed because this business would not honor its own coupons effective for the month of February 2015. I received coupons in the mail and attempted to use them when I ordered only to hear that the individual franchise was purchased by the corporate enterprise and because of this, they would not honor the franchise coupons I received that had an expiration date of 2/28/15. While they did offer an accommodation and were polite, this type of "bait and switch" advertising called into question the integrity of the new ownership (corporate?) in its failure to honor the obligations it should have assumed upon the purchase of the franchise. I like the pizza but this is a perfect example of corporate thumbing their nose at customers. read more
