We've been long time fans of Jettywave, and it's a must visit location every time we're in halfmoon bay. The sitting area and fire pits make for an amazing environment to relax, enjoy absolutely unreal cocktails, and eat creative and delicious food. It's also very family friendly, and we regularly take our kids who play their boardgames and have one of their creative non-alcoholic beverages. For my wife's birthday this year, we worked with Kim to set up a private party on a Saturday afternoon for about 20 people and it could not have possibly gone better. Kim was incredibly helpful when it came to the process and the different offerings that Jettywave can provide. We ended up getting the charcuterie board, dips spreads, and antipasto for the group. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food for everyone. We also hosted an open bar for the group, and Jettywave makes the process extremely easy by providing tokens to the party for the drinks which was made it feel a little more special than it wouldve otherwise. And the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly the whole time we were there, making great drink suggestions and accommodations when needed. JettyWave kindly hosted a fundraiser for our local school. Parents enjoyed a kid-free evening filled with delicious cocktails/mocktails and heavenly plates from Gibraltar Gems. No bad dish on this menu! The staff was kind and helpful. Leading up to the event they communicated well and were so organized. They even let us use their sound system for announcements. Not gonna lie, part of me wants to hold back on this 5 star review because I want it to stay a well kept secret. But, here goes...this place is awesome. Let's start with the great chill vibe boosted by a comfy outdoor patio setting, some tables with their own gas fireplace pits, local live music at times, bar games to use for free, and a strong local scene feel. The cocktails are consistently fantastic. The harbor master old fashion, their take on the classic Moscow mule, and those that highlight the distilleries moonshine offerings were all enjoyable, just to name a few. Don't judge, not all on one visit! . And, lastly the team behind the bar is super friendly and just seems to be having fun doing their job. We spotted Jettywave on our way to dinner and decided we needed to pop-in for a quick taste. We were all delighted with the experience - the staff were engaged, informative, and generous. We did the Setwave double pour tasting, and before we began, our bartender explained the history, each of the tastes we would experience, and gave us the one we didn't pick for the tasting as a baseline comparison. She was quick to share cocktail ideas and how we might further enjoy the goods. At the end of our tasting, she offered us some mixers to try and experiment with various flavors, which really encouraged us to imagine having this in our home bar. We leaned into our tasting of moonshines, bourbon, vodka, and gin. My favorites were the Honey Moonshine, California Botanical Gin (CBG), and the CBG Barrel Aged. We ended up buying the CBG because it was the favorite of all of us! I'm not a big drinker and I really prefer cocktails to straight liquor, but the CBG really impressed me with the juniper and cardamom and other herbal flavors. We chose it because it made for a fun edition to cocktails as well as straight-up drink. We'll be working this into our cocktail menus and can't wait to go back and see what inspires us next time. I would personally skip the bar drinks and go straight for the tasting menu which was a better value and super fun experience! read more

Okay, first of all, Jettywave is fabulous. It's fun and alive and has wonderful atmosphere. The live music there is always first rate and entertaining. The cocktails are creative and delicious. Even if it's sometimes cold out there, the fire pits make things bearable. It's a fun place to spend a weekend afternoon. Now that I've gotten that out of the way...let's talk about the food. Maybe 15 years ago or so our favorite restaurant in the the Bay Area was Cafe Gibraltar, first in Montara then in El Grenada. I honestly thought it was in the top 10 restaurants in the whole area. Better than about 90% of restaurants in SF. Then it closed. About 6 months ago I noticed the sign over the little food kiosk here at Jettywave....Gibraltar Gems, and I thought, No, it couldn't be? It IS! Cafe Gibraltar's spectacularly gifted chef is serving wonderfully creative food here. I feel like I'm exposing a secret. Since this discovery we stopped dinning anywhere else on the coast. I haven't been back to Pasta Moon, or It's Italia or La Costenera or ANYWHERE else since this discovery. My daughter said "What do you want to do on Fathers Day?" Guess where we went...again! I wish I lived closer-this would be my home away from home. The ambiance is amazing. Staff was incredibly friendly (and not just in that superficial be nice to get a good tip way) and welcoming. The cocktails are creative and delicious. The spirits that they are using (while their house brand is still in the works) are all amazing quality and mostly locally sourced. We sampled bourbon, vodka and tequila based drinks-each was unique and not overtly sweet. Definitely created by an artist. I worked with Kimberlee to coordinate a corporate event at Jettywave for 28 people. She was incredibly helpful from the beginning and completely understood how to cater to our needs. She made sure all dietary requirements were covered, and suggested extra treats like using their fire pit as a s'more's bar. She had a bunch of outdoor games on hand for our group, however we mostly stuck to competitive Big Jenga the whole time (but there were a ton of options to choose from). The bartenders were super friendly with our group and made us all feel at home as well. I really felt like I coordinated the event with a partner in Kimberlee and she delivered in making sure everything was covered with a high attention to detail and sticking pretty close to budget. The staff is super friendly and they even had a cute, enthusiastic 10 year old son helping his parents bus tables. All the drinks we tried were on point!! If you sit at the bar you only get alcohol from their collection and you have to walk around for getting the food and non-Jettywave cocktails. But I suppose that's part of the experience. A new favorite hangout in Half Moon Bay. Cool vibe, amazing cocktails, delicious food, and great staff. What more could you ask for? The Good Their cocktails are really amazing. The distillery is just getting moving and they have yet to bring whiskey, gin, or vodka to their customers, but they are working on it. That being said, their drink menu at the Swell Lounge is impressive and we have yet to have a bad drink. The Humpback Migration is my favorite cocktail. A spicy tequila beverage that is delightful. The Shiso Lovely and Paddle the Volga are also very good. The staff is engaging, fun, and very attentive. Kimberly is an amazing host and will ensure you are taken care of. The owner, Mishelle, is truly awesome and wants the best experience for her patrons. They have lots of wonderful plans and we look forward to seeing the great things to come. Their Master Distiller, Anthony, is equally amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable and will share fascinating details about the distillation process and history. I had such a great time as a guest that I booked a team building event here to mix cocktails/mocktails and get a tour of the distillery. I highly recommend Jettywave for corporate events. It is a unique experience and my team keeps talking about it. Everyone wants to go back soon. The Bad The only bummer is that they are open Friday through Sunday and the first Thursday of the month for Locals Night. My wife and I always seem to want to go when they are closed. We will have to wait until Friday to have a wonderful evening on the patio. In Conclusion This is a very special place. Only open since January, they are doing everything right and I can only imagine it will get better. I highly recommend Jettywave. I got a bit nervous because we were initially anticipating hosting 40 people but it morphed to 50. I was reassured me that there would be plenty of room, food and cocktails for all, and it was that flexibility and support that really put my mind at ease. When I came to set-up the event, Kimberlee told me that whatever I needed (moving tables, taking up extra space, locking up personal items, needing plates to place desserts, etc.) was just fine and she responded immediately! The Swell Lounge, stopped right at opening on Sunday. Beautiful set up outside, very clean and fun. We ordered the ginger and soy Beef skewers served with rice with an Asian flare. The beef was like butter and had the taste of being cooked on a wood fire grill. The rice was jasmine with a small sprinkling shredded carrots, arugula, scallions and peanuts.
