For my 4,600th review, I decided to stop at the Jewel-Osco on Weber Road. I passed by this Jewel-Osco numerous times and I've never decided to stop here until recently. My wife wanted me to pick up some stuff on my way home and I figured that this Jewel Oscar would give me the golden opportunity to finally make me visit this place. The layout is a little bit tricky to understand just because it wasn't familiar to other Jewel Osco locations. I felt that this store had a better selection of alcohol as well. The store felt very clean and upscale compared to other Jewel Oscars I've been to. Mainly the one further down Larkin Avenue. Staff here was moderately friendly as well but the food prices here were astronomically expensive. Overall, I just thought that this Jewel Oscar was just your average grocery store to say the least. read more

I find the store to be extremely frustrating. Not the food offered, or the selections, but the overwhelming entitlement of customers. It doesn't matter the day or time, but there are always cars parked unattended in the fire lanes. People just leave their cars there and go in and do their shopping. There are no consequences, and as a result, it's a constant occurrence. read more

Went on Wednesday morning, assuming ad items would be stocked and store 'ready to go' Ground beef section had only 2 pkgs at wrong price and yogurt section BLOCKED by stocking carts-with cases sitting on top of shelved items???? Wish I could rate them without a star because they don't deserve the star. They are always out of their sale items even in the 1st day. Today I ordered chicken for our family dinner only to find out they closed the chicken area because their employees didn't show up for work. They never have enough help in that area and their employees that do show up look miserable. Maybe they should investigate why they can't keep help at that store. read more

The service at this location is beyond ridiculously ignorant. I have been a shopper since this store was built. I'm told by a checkout supervisor that self checkout only allows 15 items. I had 18 items in my cart. I didn't know of the minimum. I've been in there when self checkout is the only available option. I guess risking to lose another loyal customer is more important. The quality of food in the meat department is exceptionally disgusting. A few times now I have bought rotten meat. I think an inspector is needed to ensure they're not cutting corners. One day you'll have a good lawsuit on your hands. Jewel you could and should do better. read more

The whole store seems to go above and beyond. the store is clean, and well stocked. maybe they were short staffed for awhile, but boy, we didn't experience any of that. A++!! I went here today to grab a couple things and a young gentleman named Kyle helped me out. He was very respectful and patient with me. I am 74 years old and all I needed was a little time to think. He gave me all the time I needed to remember what was on the list that I forgot at home. This store has gone down hill fast. I used to enjoy shopping here and even spending a little more money just to shop there. Now they have remodeled the store and the line for checkout remind you of the scene at your neighborhood Walmart. I've spoken to corporate and the store manager and it hasn't changed. Fast forward to today. My wife bought some fresh cauliflower and chopped it up to eat raw for lunch. Before eating it she noticed a green larvae like caterpillar. I want to commend some staff members at the Romeoville store, Charles and Alana. They are a great team and were very helpful in serving me today. I got the Barefoot moscato before the store sold out and initially my coupon Would not come up. Alana was patient and courteous. Charles bagged my groceries and even walked me to the door and offered to load my groceries in my truck. I was not expecting that. Good staff there at Jewel. I had a good experience with an African American lady in the deli who I ordered fresh grilled chicken with today as well. Didn't catch her name but she had short really hair and I was being picky with the meat I wanted. She was patient and had an upbeat attitude. Thanks Jewel and staff! Drive up and go has been consistently ready earlier than scheduled which works for me. It takes awhile for them to come outside, but it's worth the wait since I am not exposing myself to other customers. Thank you Jewelosco staff. I went in to buy beer and the man in front of me also had beer, So he had to wait until an over 21 person could come and ring up the beer. when the person came her name was Joyce and I commented that I also Had beer and she angrily responded 'if she should put it on the man's bill the one that was before me at the register. Joyce came back 4 mins later and rang up my beer and I told ( joyce) that was not very nice the way you spoke to me. joyce said'I'm very busy that's why I told you I would be back. Shame on Jewel Management for overworking Joyce because she's taking it out the customers. I just wanted her stay so she could ring me up and wouldnt have to wait this not the first time this happens and they have customers waiting and waiting. read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever! Too many times now I've had critical prescriptions for both myself and my girlfriend that were supposed to be on AUTO-RENEW be allowed to lapse without these lazy people even bothering to fax a renewal request to the doctors. What kind of a pharmacy doesn't comprehend that something like birth control and anti-depressant medication is continual and is completely fine with a person being stuck without it? I've specifically called and requested a script to be renewed, only to find out days later that the request wasn't even sent. I should not have to baby sit these prescriptions every month when Ive already authorized them to be auto-filled on a reoccurring schedule. Absolutely ridiculous. This place should be investigated for ethics violations. read more

The only grocery store in Romeoville IL, has turned into a dirty and very disappointing place. Ever since the store manager was transferred. I walk in there today broken freezer doors cardboarded up products all over the aisles and there are out of 25 percent of their products. I went to Jewel on weber Rd specifically looking for the frozen pizzas that were on sale. I got to the aisle, two pallets and two shelf stockers had completely blocked the freezer Doors. Not down the middle of the aisle as most stores do, they completely covered the glass doors. I announced my presence and said " I'm going to have to squeeze in here guys, I'm looking for the pizza". No response or acknowledgment . As I approach the glass door the female stocker was struggling with her load and three boxes were about to fall on her head. the other stocker never offered her any assistance, so Like any normal person would do, I grabbed one of the boxes about to hit her, to stop her from getting hurt. Not only did she NOT say thank you or even acknowledge me, but she went back to her freezer case and left me holding a large box of frozen foods. I had to say, "are you going to take this? " She walked up, took the box from me and turned away.. Unbelievable!!! I realize she didn't ask for help, but who does when they're about to be clobbered unknowingly. Today's youth is so angry and rude, and I don't know why. read more

I love this Jewel! This is by far my favorite grocery store in the area and I make sure to come here when possible. There is a common misconception that Jewel is a lot more expensive than those dumpy places like Walmart, but that is so wrong. They have sales all the time and their Jewel brand food is awesome. The salespeople are way nice and they have the self checkout stations so neurotic people like me who don't like their food touched by strangers can bag their own items! I also love that Jewel is still a little old school. They will still offer to help put the food in the car and they still run rewards programs. I got a stockpot for free with rewards stickers this year! Their produce section is great, their deli chicken salad is the best ever and I only get cakes from their bakery. Liquor section is plentiful as well, where they occasionally do sampling on Saturdays. I love Jewel. read more

Staff is friendly. There is a nice sized Natural and Organic section. The smell of fresh baked bread in the morning always makes me buy something. There is self check out lanes if you are in a hurry. Big selection of wine. The flowers are always great looking. Nothing ever looks like it is dying. read more

This Jewel has the seemingly standard layout for most Jewels. They have recently added a Walk in Clinic for those in need. For the past couple years, they seem to have maintained many of the same employees up at the front. The managers up front are great in the morning and the evening. One of my favorite things they do is the buy one get one free's on meat. It keeps us coming back, nothing better than getting to $30 roasts for the price of one. Recently, they added Bison to their selection. The ground meat is higher priced than ground beef but definitely worth a try. We picked up the Bison burgers, the taste was very similar to Jewel's own Pub burgers, which if you have not tried, they are a must! They also have a great selection of Gluten free foods in the First aisle by the cereals. And a nice selection of Mexican foods, which I am and love. Don't forget that they have Jarritos and they get Fresa (strawberry). I'm not huge on their selection/freshness of the tortillas though. It's close to home and my gym! read more

By far my favorite grocery store in the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Managers monitor the check out lines and will open additional lines, if needed. If there is an item you would like, but the store doesn't carry, just let the service desk know and they will get if for you if they can! Produce is always fresh and love the salmon from the seafood market. Pricing is a little higher than some other big box stores, but red carpet service is worth it. read more

Went to the deli today to order a Thanksgiving meal and to buy some fried chicken. Michelle Sopkin, waited on us. She was very rude and appeared to have an attitude problem. Not very friendly. Very poor customer service! When we asked her a question about the Thanksgiving meal, she was rude and when we ordered the chicken, she was very huffy and slammed the door to the chicken display case.
