Avoid This Jeweler - Rude and Unprofessional Do not do business with this jeweler. Their service is not only terrible but also insulting. My husband dropped off two chains for repair several months ago and never received an update. After multiple unanswered calls and messages, he finally realized the jeweler had written down his contact information incorrectly. I called to check if the store was open so I could pick up the repaired chains for my husband, and the owner was immediately rude and defensive. He refused to do business with me simply because I was a woman, repeatedly insisting on speaking with my husband instead--even though I was just there to pick up and pay for the chains. To make matters worse, he tried to overcharge me beyond the agreed price. While I was willing to pay the original cost, the additional charge seemed unfair. The final insult? He actually asked me if I could read English. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere. read more

Sorry, I can't give a five star, because he only changed my watch battery. All went well. I've broken a watch doing it myself, so have gone to a Jeweler ever since. It's not a slam dunk. Mo, I do not normally post reviews but have to do one for this business. The owner of jewelry forever, is a wonderful person. I've taken my watches to him for the last 6-7 years. I've never felt like he has ever taken advantage of me. He always looks for the least expensive but yet most safe solution for my watch. I took three to him this month alone. He pressure tests all of his work for leaks. He is extremely friendly, very, very knowledgeable and is just an overall great guy. After Mehdad gave me an estimate and explained his service procedure I asked how much more it would cost to replace the crystal. I was helping my father-in-law move a storage unit and got my hand caught and bent my wedding band from a circle to an oval. I immediately called Jared where I bought the band. They asked if had the extended warranty and since I did not, it was going to cost $90 to reshape my ring. Terrible service and small inventory. When my fiancé came in to get a necklace repaired, Mo took the initiative to insult her engagement ring, simply because it wasn't purchased there. She never asked for his opinion. He took it upon himself to give his unsolicited opinion and to make himself look a real jerk in doing so. It's very clear that he has poor values, judgement and business practices. Plenty of other jewelry shops nearby that offer much better service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. My grandpa brought my necklace in to be cleaned last week. The owner said he could clean the chain but not the pendant. Well the chain I got back is completely different. Mine was a nice silver and the one I received back was a thinner chain, about 2 inches longer, and turned my chest and neck red. When I confronted him he continued to tell me that it was indeed the same chain. After much arguing he then had the audacity to imply that maybe my grandpa switched the chain out. He offered to give me a new chain because "they only cost him $4". Love small businesses but not when the owner is a crook. read more

I had a very bad experience with this jeweler recently. I was planning to have him set a family diamond in an engagement ring for my future fiancé. Initially Mo was very pleasant... talking to me about my various ring options, sizing, allowing me to look at the diamond through his microscope to view the inclusions etc. At one point during the conversation he shared that he's a certified gemologist. My grandfather was a jeweler and, talking to other people in the industry, I know that's not an easy certification to attain and requires extensive education from an accredited gemology school. As I was leaving the store I politely asked for a business card or something with his credentials. His demeanor suddenly changed. He said he didn't have a card and quickly ushered me out of the store. I thought that was very odd. Not 5 minutes later I received a phone call from him saying he will not do business with me and saying I was "a very pushy man." I was shocked but also somewhat bemused. I know the jewelry business can be shady hence me asking for credentials in the first place. And when a customer utilizes services from any type of specialist - whether it's a doctor, a mechanic, a financial advisor, or a jeweler - it's perfectly acceptable to want to see their credentials. And if you're going to claim to be a high level specialist with a unique certification, you better be able to back it up. Mo's irate and defensive reaction to this normal request leads me to believe he is hiding something. It's very suspicious. It's unfortunate too because, up until that point, he was quite amiable and I was planning to have him work on the ring. However that kind of impulsive and irrational response is definitely cause for concern. Long story short, be very cautious if you plan to do business with him. read more

Some years ago I took in a Swiss watch which had stopped working and asked Mo to look at it and give me an estimate. I was prepared to spend some money because it had sentimental value. Turns out the seal was broken and had had become lodged in the mechanism. He didn't charge me anything to fix it and that impressed me. Since then he has done repairs and alterations to some heirloom pieces and I trust him always to do a great job. I always enjoy a visit to his store and love to look at his selection of interesting and individual jewelry - so different from the ostentatious bling in the larger stores. read more

So.....I was strolling down Del Mar a few weeks ago and saw that this shop repairs watches. I have a SKAGEN watch that I have had for a while and I just can't get rid of it.....I LOVE IT for some dumb reason.... It works and has been all over with me but the glass is scratched up....Mo had told me that he does glass replacements if I wanted to keep it so I figured I'd come back and check it out another day. Today rolls around and I am on my lunch break so I decide to pop in and just DO IT.....Here is the great part of it all....I walked out without the new glass on this watch....Mo tells me that unless my watch has some sentimental value he wouldn't replace it for me unless I wanted him to. He suggested that for a reasonable price, I could go online and buy a new watch (same brand). I totally appreciated his honesty! He could have seriously just made money by doing it for me but was so upfront with me (rarely see this type of business person anymore by the way) Long, long, long story short....I would do business with this nice man anytime in the future and he is on my list of trustworthy people around...He is a gemologist too! Happen to be walking by this jewelry shop and saw my one of a kind necklace sitting in his store. Was able to prove to him that that was mine with photos and Sheriffs deputy dept. He was so kind to sell this back to me at over 10X the price of what he bought it for from the drug addict and their!! With tax!!! Lovely. Mo said he would need to buy a new piece to put on each earring and that it would cost $45 per earring. When I picked them up, he only charged for one earring as he said he was able to repair the other without replacing anything. I have a beautiful white Michele watch with diamonds that stopped working. I went here because I had been in before and the owner, Mo - seems extremely knowledgeable and honest. I gave him the watch to get a new battery and a few days later came back for it. I honestly thought it was a brand new watch! Mo serviced and fixed my automatic "Link" Tag-Heuer better than the manufacture (Tag-Heuer) and better than another local certified dealer/repair shop. Actually, the other shop incorrectly forced a repair and caused more problems. Tag kept my watch for warranty repair for four months and returned it un-repaired. Mo make my watch runs better than the day I bought it new. He charged a fraction of the other shop's price and completed the work in just a couple days.
