Jonathan has a great lot with access to the south river. For people who live in the area, it's a…read moregreat way to shop for boats and get a look at a variety of cruisers and their layouts. This review is based on my experience selling a 26 foot cruiser. Jonathan is hit and miss as far as being able to get a hold of. He's much better contacting via phone than email. Email responses either didn't happen or were very slow. He's better if you can catch him via phone. As someone who's selling with him, he has the most expensive brokerage fees but i took that in consideration with his location and that he lists on many of the boating sales website. The fees also include keeping the boat on his lot and weekly cleanings. This was important since I wouldn't be in town when selling the boat. In the end, the boat took 3-4 weeks to actually get listed. I wasn't kept up to date as to the status of the boat until I called each week. The boat was never listed on his website so it never had a chance for more offers. Since I moved from the area and was doing this over the phone, I felt I should just accept the offer even though the boat didn't get the same marketing as other boats. I'm glad it sold soon after it was ready, but I wish it got the same change through extensive marketing as his other listings got. The 3 stars is for missed expectations. I expected the boat to be listed within a reasonable amount of time. There were some cosmetic items he said I should get. I spent over $2000 in cosmetic items which I was hesitant about on a $22k boat. I didn't know this would take over a month to complete. I expected the boat to be listed on his website through yacht world to get extensive internet exposure because I believe that many more boat buyers are buying online and I wanted that exposure for my boat. That didn't happen before receiving an offer 2k below asking. i felt I should take it but really wished the boat had more exposure online prior to being asked to accept the first offer. In the end, i believe Jonathan and his wife are good people and are honest, but I felt expectations weren't met when I signed on.

NEVER, EVER take your boat to these idiots!! Please heed my…read morewarning because you may pay dearly (money, time, aggravation) otherwise. There are plenty of competent boat shops out there, but this is not one of them. They have had our boat since May..... And they still have the boat (now September) - that's the entire 2025 summer waiting for them to fix a simple small oil leak. The boat was running when it went in, but apparently no longer runs. We did pay quite a large sum of money to briefly discover (in July) that the boat wouldn't run at all, even after they "water tested" it before we picked it up. So, back to the shop the boat went, and still remains today. We have never received a call to discuss diagnosis of the problem or plans for repair. The last conversation was today when i CALLED THEM and was told the engine is basically shot. So from a functioning boat to a blown engine under their watch. How happy would you be? How satisfied with their knowledge and customer service with would you be? Just some things to consider before you consider using them. And consider these things very carefully before you entrust your boats, etc to these incompetent people. I have a strong feeling we will be seeing them in small claims court very soon.

While most boat salesmen would have given me a few details and told me to come see for myself, the owner, Chris, went over the boat with a fine tooth comb telling me every minor scratch or issue. We even negotiated the sales price prior to my drive down there. Everything was exactly as he described it. The boat and motor (which they had tuned up prior to selling) run great. I as so impressed with their customer service, honesty, and Chris' knowledge of boats and motors that I took it back for installation of some electronics. Couldn't recommend these people higher. Well worth the drive.

This exception is not…read morebased on random experiences, rather a 20+ year history of having Rob fix all the stuff that naturally needs attention to a heavily used 29-year-old boat (1994 MasterCraft), AND our son's MasterCraft. For brevity, I'll simply provide a list of what I know about Rob: Tangibles: - Great mechanic - Knows boats - power, performance, history of quirks/tendencies - Dependable - what he commits to, he delivers Intangibles: - Memory (beyond boats) is uncanny - years ago I stopped saying, "you work on a lot of boats so I wouldn't expect you to remember..." I stopped because he remembers your name, boat and what he has done to it. - Knows the Lake - Very careful/mindful of your boat while it's in his care - ex: he takes off his shoes when in your boat. Who does that? - Honest/trustworthy - I don't know if it's instinctual or purposeful, but he gets it. The only way to be successful for as long as he has; ya gotta be honest & trustworthy.

Rob obviously has a heart for helping people, and he's wonderful to work with. There have been multiple occasions where our boat had a problem and Rob solved it quickly, easily, and gave us multiple options to stay within our means. Some friends on another lake always joke that BOAT stands for "Break Out Another Thousand", but here at Lake Anna we get to say, "Bring On Another Thing to Rob and get it done RIGHT!"
