I came to Rob and Juan with a laundry list of things I needed done to my 2016 Ford Focus RS. As a new car owner, you can imagine my trepidation. Spoke to Juan on Wednesday and he informed me I could get an appointment on Friday at 1pm to get a dashcam hard wired into the car. Show up today (Friday) at 1pm to find that Juan is away at a convention and my appointment was never recorded into the system so staff had other jobs booked in. Guy at the shop was still very kind and offered to try to get the work done today but it would require leaving car there for an indefinite period of time and that unfortunately didn't work for me. Too bad as every reviewer seems to have good experiences with JG. Hopefully I can reschedule at a later date and update review. read more

I called Juan to set an appointment for him to check out the auxiliary input in my VW Golf. It's been a little finicky and the sounds goes in and out at random times. I've had this issue for a couple of years now and have been putting it off on getting it fixed. Recently, I remembered my husband had a subwoofer installed in his truck by Juan so I asked my husband about Juan. My husband said Juan's a good and honest man to go to. He also said Juan went above and beyond his expectations, so I called and asked for a good time to come by. I bought front and rear dash cams (BlackVue 750S 2-channel w/ power magic pro) I but didn't want to even think about trying to install ourselves, so I found JG Audio & Alarm on Yelp and made the inquiry. I contacted them via Yelp for an estimate and got back an answer within an hour, then I proceed to call to make an appointment. Spoke to Juan and he was really courteous and asked about the dash cams I have and ensured that they have worked with many BlackVue dash cams. I dropped the car off and Rob was there to take it. The job took about 2 hours and it's one of the cleanest installations I have seen in a car! The wires were hidden very well and the installation of the power magic pro to the fuse panel is spotless. I proceeded to consult with Rob about sound system upgrade as my OEM sound is terrible. He gave me a lot of valuable information and explained sound system technicalities which I appreciated. He worked with numerous P-car so I feel comfortable to have JG Audion & Alarm to handle my future sound upgrade. I got a quote on the phone for a full detailing and made time In my schedule to get it done. When I arrived and asked them to go over what they were going to do to make sure we were on the same page, they asked me what I was quoted earlier. I said to tell me what it would cost first, knowing what they had quoted me, and what I had paid in the past for the same service. They raised the price an extra $150 more than the earlier quote and tried to pass it off that it would take more time, needed clay bar, etc. Juan had already told me it was going to get clay bar treatment. I raised my concerns about their pricing and loose approach to their quotes he just basically said whatever, and showed no interest in addressing their quotes. Unbelievable! Wasted my time and lost my trust with these clowns. So unprofessional. Steer clear from these guys. read more

I had a great experience here getting some interior work done and a detail. Piano black is the worst, just a terrible surface for a car's interior, and Rob covered it all in matte black vinyl wrap so well it looks factory perfect. An especially tricky bit was a shiny aluminum section of the steering wheel and it was expertly covered in matte black exactly how I imagined it. They also tinted the panoramic root expertly. The process was straightforward: I called and asked if they could do what I wanted. They said yes and we agreed on a time to bring the car in for a quote. At their shop, Rob and I talked over my goals and how best to meet them, how long it would take, and what it would cost. We then scheduled an appointment for the following week. I dropped off the car and several hours before it was supposed to be ready, I got a call it was done, for the agreed on price. Couldn't have been easier and I found everyone helpful and professional. I went to JG Audio with a malfunctioning electric issue I thought may have been caused by after market radio. They did a thorough diagnostic of all the relevant electrical components and isolated it to a faulty headlight switch. They didn't even charge me for the time they spent assessing it and referred me to someone else for the replacement work. It's funny, when I found these guys on Yelp and everybody talked about how nice they are I was a bit skeptical. I'm a female gadget hound and I've faced a fair amount of condescension from guys because of the "female" part of that description. But from the first phone call I had with Rob, these guys proved how right the reviews were. They had me come in and talk with them about what I wanted and what it would cost, and I immediately scheduled some work with them. Since then I've spent a small fortune (worth every penny!) having Rob and Juan install Dynamat and Dynapad throughout my car, and today they installed a new Hertz amp and front speakers plus a Pioneer compact sub I provided. The sound in my car now is so amazing. Just writing about it makes me want to go out and drive around some more just so I can listen to the stereo. But besides doing a great job on the sound, they also repaired/replaced a cord I damaged when installing the Kenwood stereo. This cord connects the sensor outputs on my car to the car stereo so I can see things like tire pressure and gauges on the stereo screen (I know - I already admitted to being a nerd!) It also allows me use the Toyota steering wheel controls with my aftermarket stereo. I've been waiting for WEEKS for a replacement cord from idatalink, but when I picked my car up tonight - lo and behold - they are all working! Rob must have fixed the cable for me! My gadget-loving heart is sooooo happy tonight :) Best of all, I look forward to the next time I need some car audio work. You can't always say that about people in car services and I'm delighted when I find someone that I trust so completely to be at once knowledgeable, respectful and kind. My 2006 Sprinter had a after market alarm installed in 2007. It was a rats nest of wiring and electrical tape hanging under the dash. When the alarm kept going off for no good reason, I took the wire cutters to the siren leads. That fixed the noise, but after that my van would even start. I didn't want to do any more damage, and wanted my van to start, so I called JG Alarm. Rob came out with his bag in hand and like a skilled surgeon excised the alarm relay and the wires and had my van running again in 15 minutes. I was impressed. Top notch! 10 stars!!! read more

The fiberglass work he did for my Hertz sub is like it came from factory. No issues with the top going down or closing. And the finish work was SO Tight! Moving up from Los Angeles recently , I was definitely worried about being able to find a shop, that I could not only put my trust in, but a shop that would value me as a customer. Needing a whole speaker, sub woofer, and amplifier installation, plus an HiD headlight/fog light installation, I set out to find a shop that would give me not only the best price, but the best customer service and quantity of work. I called a number of shops around the east bay area, and was amazed what some shops were charging for installs,and how disorganized and not knowledgeable they were about what I wanted to get done and what I needed for my car. Feeling discouraged that I would never find a shop, I decided to keep some optimism and give JG Audio a call, after reading all their great reviews. I must say WOW!, I am so happy that I called, because my search was over, and my worries were put to rest. The phone was answered by a man named Juan, who I now know is the shop owner, he was happy to take my call, asked me what I was looking to do, and after telling him, he off the top of his head told me exactly what I would need, and how much it would cost me. Without any bargaining or negotiating, Juan gave me the best price I had gotten throughout all my calls. After agreeing to come in, he set up an appointment time with me over the phone, and made sure he locked in enough time to work on my car, I mind you something very little shops do, always giving empty promises. I arrived the morning of my install, and was greeted by Juan right at the time he said my appointment would be at, and proceeded to tell me everything he was going to do and how much time he would need. I must say after even these initial few minutes I felt at home, and felt relaxed, as if Juan was going to treat my car just like one of his own. After heading back to the shop from grabbing a bite, I got the chance to see Juan finish the work on my car, and again I was so happy with the decision I made. I have seen many audio and electrical installs done, and not one of them has come close to the quality and attention to detail Juan works with. All the wiring, soldering, and installation of parts was done with organization and precision. After the install, Juan took the time to check over everything he did, check to see if it was running to his qaulity standards, and make sure I was informed of how everything worked. He even took the time to ask me if I was in school, how it was going, and my over well being, which I really appreciated. After all this he sent me off with confidence, letting me know that if I had any problems I could come back so he could check them out. A few weeks passed, and I was having some trouble with the HID kits that were installed, gave Juan a call, and he told me to come by, and we figured out that the parts were defective. I came back to see Juan again, and he was smiling like always ready to dismount all the parts and replace them. However, this same problem occurred again a week later, but Juan did not leave me on my own and did not let me lose confidence, he spent time he needed to use for other cars to diagnose the problem, and after he went through everything, he figured out that there infarct was an issue with now a single part that I had brought in, which he assured me that I would not have to bring in on my own and would order it for me himself. I tell you no other shop owner I have ever worked with has had so much patience and determination to make sure his customer was happy and had no concerns. I really have to say I am so happy I found this shop. Juan is an outstanding business owner and human being overall. Its not only me he made feel like family, but he treats every single person who comes into his shop this way, he treats all his customers with the utmost respect and gratefulness for their business, and really sets the gold standard for customer service. Its really a rarity to find a place like this, with a person who cares so much about his customers and quality of work. I have done a few car radio installations in my time, and it has always been a pain and a slightly less-than-perfect result. So this time I took it to the professional. Rob was terrific. He listened closely to my requirements and recommended a radio for my Toyota truck that I was happy with. He also suggested the placement of an external USB port on the dash where I could access it easily from a driving position. To top off Rob's excellent workmanship, he also diagnosed and fixed a rattle that had developed behind the glove compartment. Turns out it was a loose bolt that secured the passenger-side airbag to the frame. I would go back to Rob in a heartbeat. He did an awesome installation and has a great customer attitude. Thank you Rob and Juan for the awesome job on my stereo setup in my Boxster! I HIGHLY recommend Juan and Rob. I've had two previous cars with audio systems installed by other installers in the East Bay and the systems weren't setup nearly as well as my current Hertz and Pioneer deck system in the Boxster. These guys are meticulous at what they do and take their time and treat customers with respect. Both Juan and Rob were extremely professional and friendly. They didn't treat me any differently just becuase i didnt' own a Ferrari or Lambo. I've been to some shops previously where if you weren't spending 10K plus the owners brushed you off. It was so refreshing to work with these guys that had a good head on their shoulder in addition to being fantastic at their crafts. To top things off, I was initially quoted a price for a 2 channel Hertz but they didn't have it in stock so Juan went ahead and threw in the 4 channel Hertz and didn't charge me any extra. I mean, how often does that happen where a place charges you LESS and gives you MORE!? All in all, I'd give a 10 out of 5 if i could! and no i'm not related or know these guys just a satisfied new customer. I will be going back to them next year for a full 3M vinyl wrap! Juan is amazing! Quick backstory. After not using my car for a week, I turn it on and realize the stereo sounds horrible. Now I know nothing about audio, but I still decide to do my own diagnosis. Smart, right? I find a broken back speaker and determine that it must be the cause. I call the dealer and they tell me I need a whole back body piece $500. What?!?! Finally, one month later, I find Juan on yelp and decide to call. I stumbled my way through a very vague explanation. He listened patiently and kindly offered to stay open so I could in after work. I pull up and he immediately diagnosed the problem. Blown subwoofer. Now I know the terminology! Then he pulls out a few cans of stuff and bam, two minutes later, my speakers work! I am so happy! The rear quarter glass of my kinda new coupe was broken into and I wanted to get it retinted so that it would match my other windows. After calling another shop and having them tell me they can't just tint one window, I called JG audio and they gave me a straight forward quote and let me know they wouldn't be able to match it 100%. I've known about them for a while, but didn't go right away. My husband and I decided to get tint on both of our cars. One was older and the other newer. We also needed to get ClearBra on our new car (SUV). The old car had no tint and the new car had some tint in the rear from the manufacturer. Juan, Rob, and Eddie are very professional and realistic. They're not the type to try to sell you something that you don't need. Rob was our specialist that helped us out. I'm not the most well versed on tint, etc. . . So Rob was very helpful because he asked questions and tried to get a feel of what we were looking for. He told us about a variety of options and products. We ended up getting a dark tint on our new car (SUV) and on the older one, a lighter tint. The tint was done within a reasonable amount of time, we left it over the weekend. When we picked up, Rob explained what was done and instructions on how to take care of the tint while it continued to dry. About the ClearBra, I didn't have a lot of knowledge about it, but Rob was able to explain it in detail to me. If it was up to me, I would have covered the entire car in it, but I know that's ridiculous. Rob explained where the usual areas on the car the ClearBra is placed strategically. We left the SUV there over the weekend and picked it up. The work done was very good, you can't tell the ClearBra is even on it except if you look close. Rob again explained taking care of the ClearBra the first few days (no washing the SUV, etc.). We were very happy with his work. Their pricing is also reasonable. They provided us with excellent service and the product was even better than what we expected. We will definitely be going back to upgrade our stereo system in our new car. Juan, Rob, and Eddie have a lot of experience and easily share their knowledge so you don't have to do a lot of research. I called in to get a rear view camera put in my car, the stereo shop that put in my aftermarket Pioneer would not install the camera unless I purchased it from them...Juan made time for me the same day....i dropped off the car, went to lunch....when I came back, the camera was installed beautifully, they even hid my Sirius antenna under the dash (something the previous stereo store did not do....and even a fixed a sloppy dash install by cleaning up bad work from the previous installer...Juan left my dash looking new again...the previous job was sloppy, but i was living with it as i did not want to go back to those folks again...I highly recommend Juan and the entire JG team....Oh...super clean shop as well!! read more
