His prices are fair and I always love my cut (and the experience is usually pretty quick). He's also super chill to talk to during the cut. I had a pretty traumatic haircut experience prior to meeting Richard where the lady chopped my hair way, way shorter than I asked because she said it was "healthier" for it. I came to Richard apprehensive because of this experience but he always cuts the hair a little longer for me and adjusts as we go, which I really appreciate. I've also had him color my hair a few times as well. Both of these experiences were positive and while I'm back to my natural color again, if I ever decided to go dark again, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Richard. He was able to bleach my hair from a super dark brown to platinum blonde, all while preserving the integrity of my hair. I wasn't quite sure what color I wanted but trusting in his suggestion, I went with ombre golden sky pink and it came out absolutely gorgeous. If you have a specific color in mind, he can work with you to achieve it but if you're also open to suggestions, he can create many different color combinations. I get so many compliments regarding the color of my hair, as well as how healthy it is. I appreciate that Andy has his own suite- the privacy and ambience of the salon is very chic. You can tell how someone would treat your hair based on their workspace and Andy is all about quality! I very much enjoy going to him for my hair journey, not only because he does a superb job, but also because he is very down-to-earth and cares about your hair's health.

I know my family and I will be going to Aldo for years to come. Before finding Aldo, I was going to a well-known, high-end salon on PCH in Newport Beach. Somewhere along the way, they stopped listening to what I wanted. My hair always looked great when I walked out of the salon, but the moment I washed it myself, I realized the cut just wasn't right. Either it wasn't a good cut, or it simply didn't suit my face. I'm a busy person--I don't have time to spend every morning styling my hair just to make a haircut work. I spent weeks researching salons on Yelp and probably overthought the whole process before finally making an appointment with Aldo. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had found the right person. He's genuine, straightforward, and refreshingly honest--no fluff, no sales pitch, just someone who truly cares about doing great work. The salon has such a fun, welcoming energy, and it's obvious everyone genuinely enjoys working together. Aldo took the time to really listen. We talked at length about what I had liked--and more importantly, what I hadn't liked--about previous cuts. She did very fine highlights, but because my hair is naturally frizzy, the highlights were almost invisible. It just looked like my hair had naturally become dry and brassy. The second time, I thought a Chinese stylist would understand Asian hair better. Unfortunately, the bleach wasn't lifted enough, and once the color faded, my hair turned green. It looked terrible. This time, I actually asked Allen why that happened before, and he immediately explained that it was because the hair hadn't been lightened enough before toning. That gave me a lot of confidence because he clearly understood the issue instead of just guessing. One of my friends has been getting highlights from Allen for a long time, and her color always lasts for months. Even after the toner fades, the underlying blonde still looks beautiful instead of turning weird colors. Before we started, I also asked Allen how long this color would last. He confidently told me I wouldn't need to color my hair again for at least a year. I loved that confidence--and after spending six hours carefully working on my hair, he absolutely delivered. The color is exactly what I wanted, but what impressed me the most was the placement and thickness of the highlights. Nothing looks too chunky or too fine.
