We made reservations based on the Michelin guide. The location is great although it is on the 2nd floor. The atmosphere is welcoming with patio seating overlooking downtown Greenville. Our waiter was fantastic, unfortunately I do not remember his name. He provided exceptional recommendations for food and wine. I had the swordfish which was superb. The rock shrimp unfortunately were gritty, but the staff made adjustments and everything worked out. The cannoli dessert was a great finisher. Honestly, such a great experience. Derrick was an amazing server--super attentive and gave great suggestions. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the appetizers to the drinks to dessert. Really loved the food at Jiana. Look, you can get burrata at so many places, but not like this. This was probably the best burrata I've had anywhere. They just put the cheese in such a cool salad with sweetness and crunchiness. Really fabulous. Also really enjoyed casarece pasta with seafood and the octopus. The whipped ricotta was delish, as well. The other highlight was Derek our waiter. He was so friendly and attentive. He gave us some fantastic tips of things to do in Greenville and we had a great hike the next day due to his to his wonderful suggestion. I am so upset that I did not know of this place sooner. This place is absolutely magnificent. The service is spectacular - everyone we came across was incredibly friendly and polite. Our server was knowledgeable in the menu as far as suggestions. He also was always one step ahead as far as our water and boxing our leftover. Our entire experience was a delight - the food itself however speaks volumes of this place. The ricotta crostini is definitely THAT GOOD. They also gave us complimentary bread to ensure we finished our ricotta. The spaghetti may look "simple" but it is full of flavor and is definitely a large plate - could be two servings. The soup and sandwich were also fantastic - on the menu i didn't see it mentioned that the sandwich came with a pasta salad but it does as pictured. Everything seemed to be perfected i balancing the flavors and it was truly delicious. This was for lunch service - we are dying to go back for dinner !! read more

My husband and I had a fun date night at Jianna. The hostess and server were both very nice and overall the restaurant has a nice ambiance. I appreciate that they have gluten free pasta options - my husband has a gluten intolerance and was able to enjoy his food. We ordered a hugo spritz, a glass of processco and each ordered a different pasta. My pasta was a squid ink pasta of some sort, and I thought it was very good. My husband got a lobster pasta that was on special and it was just okay in my opinion. There was a puddle of watery sauce at the bottom and overall the pasta wasn't that flavorful. They had the windows wide open and we sat close to the windows and there were a lot of people outside walking by/standing around smoking cigarettes so we kept getting cigarette smells when the wind blew (I understand this is outside of the restaurant's control.) While walking down Main Street, we came across this restaurant and the menu caught our eye, so we decided to stop in for dinner. We made our way upstairs and were greeted by the hostess. When she asked how she could help, I politely requested a table for four. She didn't ask if we had a reservation, didn't check availability, and offered no alternatives just a dismissive response that made it clear we weren't welcome. I chose to walk out rather than continue the interaction. What struck me most was the reaction of another staff member standing right beside her she looked genuinely surprised and embarrassed by the way we were treated. For a restaurant on such a high traffic street, that kind of first impression is incredibly disappointing and completely avoidable. read more

This is a 4.5 out of 5. In terms of fresh pasta, you won't be able to do any better than Jianna. Super authentic and masterfully prepared. The gnocchi is cooked with bacon and perfectly fluffy. The grilled bread was amazing as well. The crab pasta dish was super crab flavored and cooked with sun-dried tomatoes. Very rich dish,. My said the spaghetti was a 7/10. Exceptional evening and exceptional meal. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary and it couldn't have been a better experience. We sat outside on the balcony overlooking Falls Park. It was a gorgeous night and our table was perfectly situated to enjoy views of Main Street. We were immediately greeted and wished a happy anniversary. When seated, we were presented with special menus noting the anniversary. Sam was our server and she was wonderful, so warm and friendly.We started with a half dozen East Coast oysters. Such a delicious service, complete with mignonette, hot sauce, and cocktail sauce. I had the scallop special and my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. They also have fresh oysters, and many other options, as their menu is always changing. With our party of five, everyone was able to find something they liked and everything we had was delicious. Came to Jiannas on a lazy Sunday afternoon hungry and in the mood for good Italian. We have been to Jiannas prior but never have been able to get a table due to it always being full or booked out by reservations. Luckily they were able to sit us down outside on the patio in the corner. Took about 15 minutes for the server to come just to bring us water. We stayed hopeful and ordered oysters and bread. Bread came almost instantly but the oysters took their time but both were tasty. After each interaction with our server we would not be checked on for at least another 30 minutes. We were needing water, sitting with dirty dishes and utensils and overall just wondering where she was. My husband later noticed her standing at the bar chitchat with the bartenders. The food eventually came and was a total disappointment. My husbands pasta was dry which seemed impossible for pasta and mine was borderline soupy. Needless to say we are not coming back. I truly do not understand the hype of this place other than overpriced noodles in sauce and bad service. If you want Italian go somewhere else read more

We had a dinner reservation for a party of 2 at 8 pm on Saturday, 3/22/25. We were celebrating a birthday, which they acknowledged with birthday wishes and a "Happy Birthday" menu, but that was it. No dessert on the house, which was a bummer. Katelyn was our waitress and she was great! We got a starter, bread, and we got all specials for the half order of pasta (the move!!) and our large plates. Here's what we got: - North Carolina Burrata ($15): More like a salad, doesn't come with bread. Very good! - Grilled Ciabatta ($4): Unfortunately, they don't offer free bread service. The bread was fine, but we wouldn't get it again. - Lamb Ragu Pasta Special (half order, $15): OMG. This was soo good. The half order was the perfect size too. Still dreaming about this. - Scallop Special ($45): The scallops melted in my mouth! Loved the mushrooms in the dish too! - Filet Special ($55): We ordered this medium, but it came out very medium rare. My husband was fine with that, so he ate it. It was good, but the side was even better! The potatoes, snap peas, and cauliflower were perfectly seasoned. So good! We were sadly too full for dessert. What an exceptional dining experience! Our server, Matt, was outstanding. His wine expertise truly elevated the evening. He described our selection so vividly that I could practically taste the wine before it arrived at our table. Through thoughtful questions, he guided us to the perfect selection: Il Colle di Carli. This was my first time visiting this place and everything was pure perfection! The food was sooo good, the gnocchi EVERYONE needs to try this. We ended up dipping our bread in the sauce because we truly couldn't enough of it. The service was phenomenal, our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and was constantly checking in on us. Had high expectations for Jianna, given the reviews and articles across the internet. Ambiance was open and seating was well executed. We didn't have reservations, yet we're seated within 15 min; service was mostly good. Recommendations were honest, from the perspective of the server, and service was met well overall. Admittedly, the menu items read much better than they tested. The descriptions, for sure, grabbed our attention, but the satisfaction wasn't quite met. The best ordered from our selection (inspired by recommendations) was certainly the Gemelli al Nero de Sepia which was made with: Maine Lobster, Haricot Verts, Aleppo Pepper, Garlic Breadcrumb. The black is due to squid ink, and the texture was perfectly al dente. The Poppyseed Radiatori honestly didn't taste different than a homemade pasta primavera. Not very much lump crab, which we thought would steal the show on this dish. Really appreciated the sunflower gremolata on the halibut, which completed the soft fish with texture. The fish, however, seemed overcooked. Would suggest leaving out the garlic cream sauce (had more of a resemblance to an aioli and/or mayo). The server did recommend the Char-grilled Octopus (Potato, Guanciale, Pistachio, Sherry-lemon Vinaigrette) and it didn't disappoint! Texture was not rubbery at all, and instead soft and easy to chew. I'm glad we checked it out, but it didn't really live up to the hype. It's possible that this could be a good taste for what Greenville is used to. It does, however, help that the area is fantastic, and the balcony is quite pleasant (and different from other venue spaces) which led to a nice digestive walk afterwards. read more
