First visit. Lunch for 11. We had a reservation for 11.30am. Table was ready and nicely presented , water and place mats were on the table. The restaurant got very busy and loud very quickly. We had to wait a while before our orders were taken so asked for some bread. We received nice warm bread with a Mediterranean dip. They serve a lunch special with Entree Salad and drink(soda) included for $13.99. You had a choice of Cesar or Garden salad. Both were delicious and fresh. Entrees were also good. Lasagne, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Meatball sub and fries. Everything was fresh and tasty. 20% Tip was automatically added to our check as it was a large party and 3% if you paid by credit card. We had a great time and loved the food

The place is beautiful! They did a great job with Holiday decorations. It wasn't too busy, which was nice since I couldn't place a reservation online (which isn't ideal when you're trying to make plans). The service was good and everyone was friendly. The food was decent, but it didn't impress. The pasta was al dente, and the chicken was juicy and crispy under a very generous serving of cheese. The penne left a little something up be desired. It was bland and missed the rich flavors. It felt watered down. The bread was soft and delicious, but the dipping sauce they provided was described as butter but was spicy for some reason. As someone who doesn't like spice, it was jarring and a little frustrating that there wasn't a warning and regular butter wasn't served with it.

Mediocre "pasta for lunch" dishes. The heaviest, toughest dinner roll ever, impossible to eat-- like, under baked on the bottom and then reheated in the microwave?. The loose baked ziti's tomato sauce tasted like tomato but was also reminiscent of canned tomato soup. Butterfield Chicken had rather firm onions and strangely way too many chicken chunks; quite bland. Caesar salad not tossed with dressing but a thin version of the dressing was served on the side; thinly sliced Romaine made it a struggle to get a decent forkful. The bruschetta app tasty though dominated by a raw-garlic note.

Arrive around 3 with quick seating and initial service. There were only a few people in the restaurant when I arrived. After ordering appetizers they came out pretty quickly. But after that the food and service was pretty slim. The dip that came with the bread was terrible. The meatballs were basic in flavor and I wish they would have been warmer. The buffalo shrimp were basic as well. The lobster crab ravioli sauce was delicious however the pasta was not cooked long enough. It was the same with the mushroom pasta. It could have also been cooked longer. I also ordered a piece of cannoli cheesecake and it was just basic. I was hoping it was cannoli flavored but it just was topped with a cute cannoli. I would try the other deserts and pizza but as far as sit down service I don't know if I'll go back.

    Greek Spaghetti - not great

Ordered as takeout/delivery for a large group both times. Most people seemed to enjoy their food and the portions were pretty solid. We als each got a piece of bread. I ordered the greek spaghetti with chicken the first time and did not really like it, it was FAR too buttery and kinda flavorless honestly. The second time i got pasta primavera (penne) with chicken and it was super good. The vegetables were sautéed nicely and it was not too heavy. However the second time we got no bread which was so sad because the bread was yummy

Last minute pizza take out order called in from the mall. Ordered veggie and Mediterranean pies. The order was ready in 25 minutes, perfect crusts, not smothered with cheese and so flavorful and satisfying! Can easily become a default pizza ordering place for us!!

My sister and I met one of our cousins and his wife at this restaurant that they selected for dinner. It was a great choice! Service was outstanding. I ordered the Lasagna and my sister ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. My cousin's wife ordered the Chicken Pitca and he ordered the Shrimp salad. Everyone loved their food. My cousin and his wife come here often. We ordered Fettuccine Alfredo to go for my granddaughter. She loved her food as well.

Busy but able to get a table for 1 quickly. Servers and staff stayed super busy, quickly moving around to clean tables and prep for the next party. I chose the lobster ravioli and it was fantastic! Not a dish I go for usually but looked good and it lived up to the pictures. Great bread along with the meal which was a great dip with the leftover sauce. Would visit here again!

When I write a review, I usually will compare the restaurant to what they state they are trying to do and let that be the judge. One example of that would be Waffle House compared to a more upscale brunch restaurant such as Another Broken Egg. They each have their lane and stay in it such that it is not a precise comparison to view them as two breakfast places. They are each striving to serve a different clientele. Thus, if Basilico is working towards being the best Italian restaurant in town, they have a long way to go. The space seemed recently refurbished and was brightly candlelit or soft lighting. It was an early dinner for us, around 6:30. Several family members of the restaurant staff, some small children, were at the first couple of tables, dining and caring for an infant. Lot's of foot traffic in and out for carry-out pizza. My dad had the lasagna and a salad. Both were just okay. The lasagna sauce did not have the depth of flavor that we expected. I had chicken Marsala, which was very salty and the sauce was not the silky Marsala expected (because of their ambition) but rather was thin and watery. The portions were generous and we had enough to share. The staff was attentive. I could recognize that they have positioned this space for private events or receptions. Overall, it was just three stars, okay. I personally have no reason that I would come back here for Italian food. There are many better options in town. That said, for a quick bite, near the hospital or when passing by, this will do. It's just not on that next level.

Probably the best Italian restaurant I've been to in terms of food taste. They actually know how to cook al dente pasta. Note: This is extremely rare. Most restaurants, baffling enough, cannot. The service was prompt and the food brought in a reasonable time frame. This is a nicer location with more of a date feel to it. You get a basket of bread with sauce. They have some vegetarian options but it's not clearly labeled. The boom boom shrimp was good. The breading was such that you could eat the tail no issue. The chicken alfredo was much lighter than typical so it doesn't sit as heavy on your stomach. The eggplant parmigiana was cooked well. Crisp enough to not get too soggy. House salad is alright. The Caesar salad is good but only use like half of the sauce provided. Noodles for both were seasoned correctly. We both left satisfied in non-bloated.

Solid spot to grab a meal if you're in the mood for Italian. Came on a Saturday night & we were sat quickly by a friendly staff. I will say once your food comes, there's not much service after that. Could be a good or a bad thing depending on what your preferences are. For the starter we were brought bread & a creamy sauce that was actually pretty tasty for being the free portion of the meal (lol). We also decided to try the sampler which includes mozzarella cheese puffs, fried ravioli toscana, & chika strips. Very, very tasty & would recommend. For our entrees we ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli - very rich creamy alfredo sauce that was absolutely delicious & the Chicken Parmigiana that was very filling & had a nice crispy outside but was still tender on the inside. Only reason i'm giving this 4 stars is because it does seem slightly overpriced for what you're getting food wise. I've been to some higher end Italian restaurants that were priced about the same. Either way I'd recommend others to try it for themselves.

I went out to eat on my birthday, July 12 to eat an early dinner at the Italian restaurant Basilico Greenville. I've passed by it many times, and I wanted to try it. It was the place I wanted to eat dinner for my birthday. We met at Basilico at 4 pm and it wasn't crowded. It's not a very big restaurant, but they do well with the space they do have. After 5 pm the amount of people increased and the noise level was high, there was a group of people that were very loud. Our server Olivia was nice and friendly, she brought our appetizers and entrees out quickly. My niece ordered the Basilico sampler with fried ravioli, chicken strips and mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. The appetizer was ok, nothing I would order again. For my entree I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with the house salad and ranch dressing. The sliced chicken was tender there was plenty of Alfredo sauce, the pasta was cooked the way I like it, it was an enjoyable dish, but not outstanding( The Trex Cafe prehistoric pasta is still fresh in my mind, was "the bomb" sorry for the comparison). The salad was swimming in water at the bottom of the salad bowl. The bathroom had no hand soap, my niece arrived before the rest of the party to get a table l, she told management at 3 pm that the soap dispenser was out. I went to the restroom at 6 pm STILL NO SOAP. Some of my family said they would come back again, I'm not sure that I will. It was nice dining with family on my birthday, but I'm still undecided about another visit.

We were trying to plan a beautiful wedding for a military couple stationed in Japan. His family is from Greenville area. There were to be between 100-120 guest. The venue manager said the venue would hold 150 easily with no issues, as stated on the website. This is completely incorrect. The venue only has 10 sixty inch round tables for guests to be seated at and those tables only hold 8 comfortably. It seemed once they had a deposit then things started to change. The venue only had 50 chairs and we would have to rent an additional 60 as an extra charge. The entire function was cramped. We had 111 people confirmed and 6 no showed. So with 111 confirmed we had to have an 11th table that they did not have. They charged us to rent that extra table and chairs too. The venue was too small and should change their website. Another mis-truth on the website is that you have several choices of vendors. This is not true either, we were told that the caterer Southern way has exclusivity. They were more expensive than others we got menus from, so that was disappointing. The manager, Steve was rude and condescending at most times. Communication was difficult. On the day of set up, he used our muscle to help put together an Arbor that we had to pay $150 to rent for 30 mins. That's unbelievable to me that he has no employees to help him and that it wasn't included in the venue since it was in their photos online. It seemed there was an extra charge for many things, such as tablecloths. We were also charged for a security guard that was never there. At the end of the function, we had to tear it down and take the trash to the dumpster a block away. Really? Why would you rent a place that is this disorganized and includes nothing. It was a HUGE disappointment! Spend your money elsewhere. Ask lots of questions before you sign a contract. I believe this military couple was taken advantage of at contract signing because of the lies they were told. The Upper Room Greenville should be ashamed of themselves.
