Just get your oil changed here. They can do that efficiently and typically do a good job. I do check the services done on my car and they get an 85%. The tire pressures are not always checked, not all fluids are always topped off, but the oil is changed. Side note: I'm a retired mechanic due to arthritis in my fingers and I have various services done to my car depending on what I need and unable to do myself. I typically get my oil changes at various quick lube spots and this Jiffy Lube is close to my house. The problem I have: They constantly try and up-sell me on work that I know damn-well doesn't need to be done on my car. I recently had my breaks changed a couple months before rolling in for an oil change and one of the mechanics called me out to my car and said "I know you don't know what I'm looking at, but I do and you need new breaks all around your vehicle." Now either he doesn't know what he's actually looking at or he's been coached to try and up-sell customers on everything and anything. I'm going with the latter. I get that Jiffy Lubes wants your service and wants to make money, but I think integrity is a better way of going about that. Not offering bullshit services that waste time, money, and future referrals. I never tell any service place that I'm a retired mechanic. I just let them roll and see what kind of integrity, or the lack thereof, comes from their mouths. That's the benefit of being a retired female mechanic I guess. The best I can do is leave reviews of places I know have issues with their integrity, while also reviewing the places that pride themselves in it. read more

The team that runs this location are very nice - however, I was disappointed to learn when I took my car to a different Jiffy Lube that they put the wrong cabin air filter (that I paid $50) completely ridiculous now that I know I can do it myself for less than $8. I came in because my brakes were squeaking (for 6 months), and it turns out I shouldve come in earlier---my rotors and other mechanisms were affected b/c the brake pads were GONE! As I sat humbly in the waiting room, I was able to remote work, charge my phone behind the water cooler, and the bathroom was so clean! Then came the bad news... After being quoted before servicing $550, and after paying the amount, the Service Team found another issue. As they test drove the car, they found another weird sound---turns out there was a bent screw-thingy in the emergency parking brake that needed fixing and a new part. They did this extra service and gave me the part--for FREE! I was really worried about going back to work (I had been there for 2 hours by then), and Tony and his service crew colleagues did this added servicing for the brake screw in under an hour--did I mention for free? I am glad I chose Jiffy Lube Annandale, and I suggest everyone come here and ask for Tony. read more

Received a call from someone who identified as the store mgr. He wanted to rectify the complaint. How did he do this? By insulting my wife, saying she didn't have all the information. Odd since she was the one there being demeaned. Then he says he didn't even speak to the guy who tried to upsell my wife with lies and threats. I told him we didn't have anything to discuss until he had all the facts. We will not be returning to this store to do business and I recommend women in general to stay away from here as threats and lies seem to be the way they do business with women. read more

I have gone to jiffy lube all over the region several times due to how quick they can get the job done at a reasonable cost (they usually always have some sort of coupon on their website for their signature oil change). When we got there, they changed our oil quickly and then called us over afterwards to tell us to change our brakes ASAP. They said our filters were fine (which makes sense since we just changed it), but warned us that we should not be driving with these brakes. After hearing this, I was seriously alarmed that we needed to change out our brakes but also wanted a second opinion and said we would pass. We drove to our usual mechanic to get it checked, and he said that the brakes were fine. The contrast between the two technicians remarks really alarmed me. I don't know what the Jiffy Lube technician saw that warranted such a scary warning about our brakes. We probably should have inquired more. However, I am also now questioning whether he really saw something. I always appreciate when people warn you of safety risks, esp regarding car safety, but I am not sure why the Jiffy Lube technician made it seem so serious we had to change our brakes right away. read more

I came here just 10 minutes ago, because for about a month, I had my tire pressure monitoring system alert come on, and I had no time to go and put air in myself. Last time, I did it, I must have done it incorrectly, because the light came on not soon after, so I just don't trust myself lol The young guy came to ask me what I needed and he was so nice. I really liked his demeanor. They checked and helped fill in my tires, and I was good to go! They didn't charge me :o I thought they would, but nope. Whoever says they just want money, I don't think that's the case here; otherwise, they would have charged me. He genuinely wanted help me with my car. I will come here again for sure!! Summary: Car worked fine when we brought it in and asked for an oil change. After upsell to about $500 in services, a couple hours later they said, "sorry, your car won't start now and you need to tow it." The timing chain slipped 3 teeth - due to lack of oil pressure - and the car needs about $5,000 (yes you read that right) of work including a new head. After going back and forth with the Operations Manager (Steve Nugent), his stance is, "No one can prove we did anything wrong, so we won't pay anything. We will not charge you for the services we did." (they only completed about half of the work before they broke the car.) He also refused my request to have the owner of Lube, Inc., Tim "Dale" Smith contact me to discuss. We've been without our car for nearly 3 weeks, incurred 3 weeks of rental car costs, have had a lot of inconvenience trying to get to work and our kids' events, and of course the looming cost of the repair. Received this response from the Jiffy Lube General Manager Steve Nugent over two weeks after the incident: "At your request and out of good will, we have attached the Jiffy Lube receipt at no cost to you. We stand by our decision not to contribute to your repair based on our video proof. The video proves no negligence on our part and that the service was performed properly. Regards" He had originally offered to pay half of our incurred costs, but when he came back around he said that wasn't an offer, just "a discussion." ---------------------------------------------------- I've watched the videos with their service manager - and they show whatever the viewer wants to see. It appears this owner is focused on simple transactions versus positive business and community relationships. ---------------------------------------------------- PS. We have done many dozens of oil changes on our own. In life, you can only do so much - kids' activities, volunteering, mowing the lawn, home repairs, etc. - something has to give. Been going there for years. Ever since they use to use to give you a car wash when the oil changed has been completed. I am done with them from now on. Asked specifically that the reset light for when an oil change is due again is reset after the service has been completed. Again it was not done correctly. I had my oil changed at a jiffy lube last time so I figured why not again. I stopped at this location and they told me they didn't carry the oil filter for a Fiat. So I said fine and went around the block to another place. As I am sitting here waiting I decided to google to see if indeed was a strange filter type. (We all have the power of google jiffy lube) turns out that was a lie. It's a normal canister filter. In the search however I learned that it does take a little bit longer to get to the filter. I'm actually glad I didn't go here after all. If they are that lazy and dishonest who knows what other things they may have overlooked or missed. I would stay away from this one. read more

I had my brake fluid changed somewhere else in July. The staff at jiffy lube told me my brake fluid needed changing at that it was in the worst quality range. I declined replacement and took the car back to the original store. They rechecked the fluid and it was perfect. I feel that I was being scammed to allow them to do a $139 service. DO NOT GO TO JIFFY LUBE!! My husband asked for a simple oil change. They overflowed the oil and damaged his power steering to the point that he could not drive it for more than a few miles. They refused to acknowledge their mistake and the manager yelled at my husband in front of everyone. Why would he bring it for an oil change if he could barely drive the car?? It was a $535 repair that was caused my Jiffy Lube!!! On top of that, customer service rep cussed my husband out and refused to do anything with his claim. They are completely useless. Service was fine and I was able to stay in my car. My main quibble is that the gentleman who greeted me at intake-- and had me roll down my window-- was not wearing a mask at all the entire time. The same was true with the cashier inside. Otherwise, all of the other technicians were observed wearing masks. I found this slightly distressing as I am in a vulnerable category... Next time, I would insist that the individuals interacting with me at my window put on a mask or I will take my service elsewhere. read more

Waiting area is small and basic, but no different than anywhere else, and I was happy that they had plenty of seating. $5 off coupon for oil change was accepted without problems. I have been going to this Jiffy Lube location for 3+ years and have decided not to ever go again. They always recommend services like air filters, differential and wipers. Today I expressed my concern over the quality and cost of their replacement wipers from the previous visit and my concerns were shrugged off. The guy, Bobby, also tried to sell me air filters which had been replaced a few months earlier. He had a dirty one pulled out that was obviously from another vehicle. He also said I needed work on the differential. I didn't expect such shady practices from a brand name oil shop. They also no longer wash your car at this location. The reason I gave them two stars is because the guy that takes your car initially and vacuums it is very courteous and professional. read more

I've always been taking all of my vehicles to jiffy lube over the years as they are always pretty fast in and out. What they charge for full synthetic is pretty pricey but again, it's fast. Based on some undercover investigative news reports a few years back about shady practices, I always stand outside the bays and watch them. On one occasion they told me I needed to have my differential fluid flushed and I was perplexed since my jeep was brand new with only 5000 miles on it. I let that instance go since I knew they were just trying to get me to buy a service I didn't need. Today however when I brought my truck in they were supposed to do full synthetic. I watched as they pulled the hose down from the top and started putting in oil. I thought that was odd as they usually have a separate container marked Mobil 1. I confront the manager and he yells to the other guy putting the oil in. Then he tells me, "I got you buddy". I am really disappointed in jiffy lube and want to let others know to be careful.
