There were 4 cars in front of me and still I was in and out in less than 30 minutes! I waited for 3 hours to then finally get to the end of the line and not be able to open my insurance card online (stupid internet issues) I said I have a copy I can very quickly go get it I live 5 min away. I left and came back and the manager comes out to tell me they would not honor my place in line and needed to get back in line. If that is not an absolute F-u to their customer I don't know what is! Always call before coming in for a state inspection. The inspector's hours are NOT the same as the store's hours, and their hours are not consistent. Last time I got an inspection at 7 AM, right when they opened. Today, I go in at 7:00 to be told the inspector comes in at 9:00. Awesome. If you aren't going to offer services during business hours, at least put it on your website so customers don't waste their time (and gas). I've had good service here since moving in the neighborhood, and I'll still do business here, but they really need to be more transparent about their offered services/schedules. read more

I've been to this location multiple times for oil changes and inspections. They're totally nice and helpful and answer my questions without making me feel stupid. It does take a little longer than they initially say sometimes but they always apologize and communicate it if it happens. I think it's a great place and I trust them. When I pulled up I went to the closest line to me, not knowing it's for inspections only. There's no sign. Someone comes up to me and I told them I just need an oil change. Not so hard right? I took my "new to me" car to Jiffy Lube on Slaughter Lane @ Manchaca for an oil change. I wanted to ask questions such as where my oil and window washer fluid is located under the hood. Nick W., Team Lead, was VERY courteous and took his time to show me these things as well as how to manage my reminders on my dashboard. The next day after my oil change, I drove to their shop again to ask another question. Nick W., was more than happy to help an old lady with a new-to-her car. The little sticker on my windshield reminded me it was time to take my car in for some pampering a la Jiffy Lube. Good for the car, dreadful for me. Why? Well, the last time I went there, it went a little something like this: Me to the attendant: "I need to get my oil changed." After getting the once over (and feeling thoroughly skeeved out by this), the attendant says to me, "Okay, I'll need to get some information." "I'm already in the system," and am freaking out at the fact that you have access to my freakin' address. "Do you come here often?" No, I'm not joking, the guy really asked me that. I try not to make eye contact when he's asking me this stuff because I feel it will only encourage him more. "About every three months, with my boyfriend." So, I don't have a boyfriend, but I'm hoping this will get the guy off me and back to work. "Do you have a sister?" That was it! I maneuvered my way around the orange cones and gave the creepy guy a middle-fingered wave goodbye. So, on my latest visit the creep was gone, the line was super long, and they tried to upsell me on every possible thing in the book. But, I do like my mechanic told me to do, and just say no now. That, ladies and gentelman, is what you call the high cost of convenience. read more

I've been to this Jiffy Lube maybe a total of 3 times. Main purpose is for an oil change. While the staff is pleasant and the service is relatively quick, a recent occurrence has changed my otherwise 3-4 star review into a 1 star review. Normally when you get an oil change, they try to sell you more services. You know, air filter is dirty, such and such could stand to be replaced, etc, etc.. For some odd reason, this time around I decided, what the heck, I'll give in to the sales pitch and get that new air filter (I don't think I've ever changed it). The guy showed me my current air filter and it DID look pretty dirty. Fast forward 2 weeks later... I am driving on I-35 Northbound, when all the sudden my car dies while driving upon acceleration. I have to pull over on the highway to find that I can't start my car anymore. I didn't have enough oomph in my car to roll myself off into the next exit and where my car finally ended up pulling over was NOT a good spot for pulling over. Many cars whizzed by me with uncomfortably close proximity and my car stalled against the highway almost caused a severe accident. I finally got my car towed, only to find that the "Air filter replacement" i requested, never got replaced. So I was basically driving around with no air filter, and my engine or whatever got completely clogged. Even though this was a careless mistake of forgetting to replace an air filter and I did get Jiffy Lube to pay the bill for the maintenance work to fix it, it could have been a very serious safety issue. I would give the service here 10 stars if I could. Mike, the manager from San Marcos and the entire team did an amazing job for us. I went to a different Jiffy Lube first for a basic oil change, and the team could not figure out how to get my oil changed and when I left, my engine light was on. To their credit, they called Mike at the Manchaca location and Mike said he would take care of us. When we got there Mike opened the stripped oil pan drain plug, replaced the oil filter, replaced the stripped drain plug, changed the oil and ran a diagnostic to see why the engine light was on so he could fix that too. After all was said and done Mike would not charge us for any service because we had to drive from one Jiffy Lube to another across town. Simply the best service, the best people and the best manager in Mike. Take every car you have to see them! You will not regret it! read more

"Not-so-jiffy lube". Got here at 4pm, it is now 6:15pm... Still waiting... Last time I came it took a long while too. I figured it was a fluke so I came back for the $5 savings from the competition one block away. Not a fluke... If you come here, prepare to wait! There is another oil change place down the road just one block on slaughter and bilbrook slighty more $, but roughly 1000% faster. Unless you earn $2.50 an hour at your job avoid loosing two hours to waiting at the "not-so-jiffy lube" just to save $5. read more

I guess I am going to be the weird one here because I have never had anything but good experiences here. They are quick and friendly and once gave me a discount just because they thought my baby was cute. When I needed a new tire, they sent me to a much cheaper place to get a replacement when I mentioned going to Discount. When I needed new windshield wipers to pass my inspection, they let me whine my way into getting two blades for the price of one. And today I got a free car wash at H2O and $10 off which was awesome in itself. I am not sure why I haven't had the experiences of everyone else but I am happy with them. read more

My experience with this Jiffy Lube location goes a way back. I had great experiences with this Jiffy Lube when I first moved to South Austin in 2008. At first, like any Jiffy Lube they were fast and courteous. After a few months they stopped honoring my coupons. They had a perfect explanation, "We are already giving you our special, so we can't take this coupon." You guessed it the, "Special" was then one they have been running for years $29 dollar Oil Change. I was ok with their refusal to take my coupon. Their solution to not honoring my coupon however was even more ridiculous. The cashier looked me straight in the face and said with all seriousness, "Please take this coupon book for more savings on your next visit." How will coupons help me if they don't honor the coupon I want? My coupon debacle is the very definition of "Catch 22." Still I put up with Jiffy Lubes silly games, because they were close fast and my line in the sand was not quite crossed yet. What really stopped me from going there again was when the person doing my oil change was too lazy to even put the sticker in the window. Granted a sticker is a very little thing. However, this sticker was the straw that broke the camel's back. I now go to the Jiffy Lube on William and Cannon. I would recommend another Jiffy Lube. I just think the owner squeezes pennies at this location, and the effects have now caused the employees to act out as well. There are plenty of Jiffy Lubes in Austin. Speak with your money and go to one that offers you a little more dignity. read more

I wouldn't recommend going to this location, after Horachio did an oil change on my 2002 Infiniti I35 they over filled it by a whole quart and pretty much flooded my entire engine, sparkplugs, ignition coil and gasket was damaged due to this and I had to get a mechanic to repair it for me. Jiffy Lube is refusing to reimburse me for my expenses out of pocket to cover the charges I paid for the mechanic for their error. read more

My second bad experience here. I only came for an inspection today and since it's right by my house I figured I could deal with Jiffy Lube and give them another shot. When I pulled up I told them all I needed was an inspection. They said there were two vehicles ahead of me but I should be up in about 30 min and done in 45. An hour and fifteen minutes later I haven't been helped. The inspection bay has been vacant for over 30 minutes. I have already talked to three employees and all I've heard is, "the guy who does inspections has like three things going on right now so it's going to be a little bit, do you still want to wait?" In the meantime I see three other employees standing around. Okay, it has now been an hour and a half without being helped and a vacant inspection bay. I'm outta here and never coming back. Needed an oil change so I decided to drop into my local jiffy lube. I was greeted like usual when I pulled up by an older lady and I told her I would like Mobil 1 synthetic high milage please, she kindly said they would take care of me. After standing outside for a bit I decided to make sure that my desired oil was relayed to the tech, and he informed me that they don't even carry any Mobil 1 products. He calls the older lady who greeted me over and asks her what was said. She immediately throws me under the bus saying that I never specified an oil, and only asked for high milage oil. I let the tech know that for the last 3 years I have been only using Mobile 1 synthetic oil so I don't know why I wouldn't ask for it upon arrival. She keeps on going about how I'm wrong and lying saying that she is right, until the manager steps in and tries to remedy the situation The manager on site does the correct thing and drives over to a local parts store and picks up the correct oil to finish out the job correctly. Even though my situation was taken care of the right way by the manager, I don't know if I'll be back due to the down right shitty attitude of this lady. Oh and the fact that my oil change cost me $114.85!!!! Maybe the manager didn't handle thing correctly after all PS, I could see you talking trash about me to the other techs, maybe don't point and look at me so much when talking to the other employees. read more

I have lived by this Jiffy Lube for a while and of course there is a plethora of service stations to choose from but today solidified why I keep coming back. Unfortunately I am not a well informed person when it comes to vehicle maintenance aside from the normal oil change and how it should be changed every 3K miles. That being said Teddy at Jiffy Lube used little videos to show why he was offering to have a service done to my vehicle and what it did for my car. This Jiffy Lube used to have bad service but now their service is great. The attendants are polite, attentive to your car's needs and they don't push you when you decline having a service done at that moment. read more

How can one shop be so far below the others? I brought my vehicle in today for a state inspection. The vehicle was ready at 1:41 p.m., as I watched the tech park the car and bring the paperwork in. I waited for the assistant manager to call me up to claim my vehicle. He never did. Finally, after 30 minutes of watching others come and go, I walked over to the counter, and saw my name at the top of the monitor as "completed," and asked him if I could have my car. He said, "OK" and rang me up. I finally got my vehicle at 2:13 p.m. -- 32 minutes later. This sounds minor, but it's now a long lunch hour that I have to explain to my employer. I would understand a busy day, etc., but to have my vehicle just sitting there is not the kind of service I have come to expect from Jiffy Lube. It's not what I have experienced in other locations, and I can promise you I won't be back. ***UPDATE*** I received correspondence from the senior district manager who was very apologetic and even offered to refund my money for the service. That's grade-A customer service, and that gives Jiffy Lube a star back. read more

I had been a Jiffy Lube customer for 4 years or so now, on 3 vehicles. Saturday afternoon I dropped my car off for an oil change. They lost my keys, and were apologetic. Come to find out their auditor picked them up. Rather than return them immediately they returned them late Monday morning, at their convenience, after I had gone to work and they closed before I could pick them up. My wife picked them up for me Tuesday morning. They ignored her when she got there, were somewhat rude when she asked about it. Offered her an "it was an accident" and that was it. Planned my day around coming to jiffy lube on a Saturday at 7AM just to be told their machine for state inspections "might not be working" and "the inspection guy doesn't come in until 9 anyway" (then why open at 7??) but "he's not even sure if it works"...........Waste of my time and they were unclear as to whether they could do my state inspection or not. Honestly felt like they wanted me to leave. Also inconvenient to plan your day around this just for them to not have an accurate time you can visit for different services.
