This is my neighborhood Jiffylube. Been going there for several years. Usual..oil change,inspection etc. Friendly crew and easy to deal with usually. Went in yesterday and found whole new crew. Change was not for the better. Elias performed inspection and came in to office and announced, Your car failed. Brake lights don't work!" No explanation or offer to show me the failure. When I told him the lights were working when I pulled in he became defensive and argumentive. I spoke to Steven and he agreed the failure should have been discussed at the car and could have been handled better. All in all a disappointing experience. My original review was removed by Yelp by request of a "member of the Yelp community " due to a lack of specificity. It takes little imagination to guess who that "member" might be. For a little historical background, here is my original review: "Unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional even by auto service standards. Just go somewhere else." As to the complaint that it lacks specificity: Guilty as charged. I should have provided detail, which I gladly supply in this review at the request of that Yelp member. However, Before I begin, I should note that in the 3 days that my review was on the Jiffy Yelp page that Jiffy did not reach out to me in any form or fashion to ask for specifics regards my complaint. Considering my experience with Jiffy at this location, that doesn't at all surprise me. Let me further preface the details of my experience by noting that in the many years I have used Yelp, this is the only time I've given a one star rating. ONE TIME. I'm a nice guy and don't like to give less than 3 stars except in extraordinarily bad experiences, which are very rare. So here is the deal. My registration expires at the end of the month and it's a Sunday and I'm heading out of town for the week. So, I need to get my vehicle inspected. I remember that there is a Jiffy Lube on the corner that is always open, so I figure I'll drop by there : quick, easy, no hassles, courteous: Right...... So, I pull in still a little grungy from my morning bike ride and tell the guy that I just need need an inspection. No problem so far. Dude leads me to the waiting area, which is dingy and cramped compared to many other similar places I've been too, such as Mister Lube, but whatever, it is an auto lube business and I didn't plan on spending the night or hosting my wedding there. Anyway, so far so good: in and out was my thinking. Ok, specifics are tiring. Anyway I'm sitting there looking busy playing with my phone, and this dude Scott waddles in to ask me a question, at least that was what I thought at first glance.... Instead, He looks down at my proof of insurance and says, "the plates don't match the registration. Did you take these off the Durango (my wife's car)?" I'm puzzled (thinking: 'what exactly is this guy accusing me of doing?' Hint: fraud) but answer "no." But Scott of Jiffy Lube gets there soon enough. I explain that back in in January, my front plat flew off into the abyss, never to return, and that I obtained new plates from the DMV, and the plates on the vehicle are the ones they sent me. Scott says: "these plates don't belong to you." OK. Now it was clear what he was getting at: since the plates don't match the registration, then I must have skulked out in the dead of night and stolen these plates. So I'm sitting there in their grimy little waiting room, phone in my hand, jaw dropped and speechless at the accusations coming from this dude in front of 4-5 people. Well, That is pretty dam embarrassing, pardon my language members of the Yelp community, and one member in particular. Anyway, like I said, I was dumbstruck and just reiterated that the plates are the replacement plates the DMV sent me and that beyond that, I don't know what he is talking about. So Scott of Jiffy Lube shakes his head and rolls his eyes at me as if I'm some petty criminal and then walks out. After he leaves, I'm literally sitting there thinking that the DMV sent me some body else's plates and that I'm at risk of going to jail if Scott reports me or, god forbid, I get pulled over! Im truly feeling embarrassed in front of these other customers and want to hide my face. I mean, it was crystal clear what he was implying. I'm thinking I'm going to call the DMV first thing Monday morning before I end up in the slammer. So as I sit there with my scarlet letter blazoned on my chest, Scott finally walks into deliver the news: gas cap failed. And, while shaking his head in clear moral judgement, says: "I probably shouldn't have even agreed to do the inspection....." I'll finish the insinuation: 'considering that you stole your plates.' Anyway, I gather from the floor what is left of my self-dignity and get in my vehicle. Ashamed and worried that I'm at risk of immediate arrest, I sped back to the security and relative safety of home (I'm married and have a tweenage (copyright) daughter, hence the qualifier 'relative'). I tell my wife what happened, and she comforts me as the good lord commands. I send an email to the DMV telling them what Scott told me and pleading with them to tell me ASAP Monday morning comes and I call the DMV. They verify that the plates on my car are registered to my vehicle but that they should have sent a new registration sticker, which they didn't. Also, she says that there was NO REASON for Jiffy to question me about the discrepancy!!! That is right. All that moral judgment from Jiffy Lube for no reason. So, thanks Jiffy. Terrible service! I went there 3 times trying to get a state inspection. First time, it was around 2:00 pm and was told that I needed to come back later because the state inspection guy told me he was about to take lunch break. Hello can't somebody else cover for you while on lunch? Second time I went at 6:15pm and was told the state inspection guy went home at 6:00 pm. Again, doesn't he have a backup? Third time I went I asked for an oil change, asked for air in my tire that was low, and for a state inspection. I was told I needed a transmission flush when I had just gotten one in July 2018, but naively believed the technician. He also upselled my oil change. He told me the transmission flush would take 20 minutes. I was there for an hour and a half and was told my car did not pass state inspection because of a malfunction with their equipment! When I drove my car away after being there for an hour and a half, my tire was not aired up and my computer was still showing I needed an oil change. I had to go back for a fourth time to get them to fix the computer to show I had an oil change!! I voiced all of my complaints to the manager who was not helpful at all! And I took my car to Christian Brothers and passed the inspection with a 20 minute wait! I will NEVER go to this Jiffy Lube again! read more

Don't go here. They take forever and all they did was throw the F-word all around the office. Got there for inspection and they told me my window tint would fail. It's been tested every time I have had an inspection. I tried to explain that and the manager just got crappy with me and kept arguing. Choose any other Jiffy lube. Stay away! read more

I have had the same insurance in Nevada for 20 years. Been in Austin four years now and have had four state inspections. The 2015 inspection was at this Jiffy Lube and I brought my receipt with me today. Went in today to get 2016 inspection and the Assistant Manager, Scott, told me they could not do a state inspection since I did not have Texas insurance. I gave him a copy of the receipt from last year and he basically didn't believe me. I went to the Jiffy Lube down the street (on the 620 across from HEB) and they did the inspection in less than 10 minutes without an issue. (MUCH cleaner/nicer lobby too!) Also, I tried to call Jiffy Lube NUMEROUS times this morning but no answer. When I mentioned this to Scott, he said he can't hear the phone if he is not in the lobby. DUDE - we are in the 21st century!! Get a ringer outside the lobby, a cell phone, SOMETHING but ANSWER YOUR DANG PHONE! Pass on this JL and hit the one across from HEB! read more

Not very jiffy - i went in early and was the first customer, but still took an hour for an oil change! Didn't push the upsale too bad, but probably won't go back. Can get cheaper oil changes elsewhere. read more

I had my emissions test performed at this Jiffy Lube location. I came at a busy time so I did expect to wait. LaTroy was my first contact. He was smiling, and so pleasant beyond my expectations. I told him what I was needing and he did not hesitate to continue to be kind and inform me of the wait, but they would get to me following the "such and such car" who was ahead of me. I backed into a parking spot under a tree along the back parking lot. As I sat in my car, I watched how LaTroy greeted customers and interacted with his co-workers. He was amazing! He was funny and helped lighten what could have been a boring wait. All customers appeared happy with their outcomes. The gentleman who did my emission test was very detailed in evaluating my car. One customer and I in the waiting room, while they were working on our cars, discussed how fun LaTroy and his co-workers are, and still acting professional. I had a fantastic experience at this Jiffy Lube. I will not hesitate to return for further service on any of my vehicles. read more

The kind they advertise as they wave to me as I pass by. I was kindly greeted by an attendant. He asked what I needed and told him just a basic service. I had some confusion with the manager over the price but feel like Jiffy Lube was quick to respond to my concerns. As a female I hate going in to get an oil change because I always feel that they're trying to pull a fast one on me and charge me for things I don't need....Went in this morning at 7:30am and these guys were in a great mood not only that they didn't pressure me into buying things! I went here about a year and a half ago to get an inspection. All the employees seemed to be just socializing weren't helping any clients at all in the garage. When one of them finally came up to my car I was told the person who does inspections is gone for the day...what? This is around 3 in the afternoon. I end up going to the other Jiffy Lube down the road on 620 and essentially was told that I was being lied to and they were being lazy. Luckily I had a good experience at the other one. read more

I have been coming to jiffy lube for as long as I can remember and the service has never been as good as today! Diego & Scott were so awesome! They got me in and out in less than 30min. They explained to me what they were doing and they actually took me out to my car after they were done to show me what they had done. The prices here are amazing! And I have to be honest and say that I will be coming back here as long as the service at this location is as amazing as it was today! Once again, an incredibly pleasant experience with Jiffy Lube. Manager walks in with the air filter to show me - "still looking okay- but you may want to plan on getting new one on your next visit." No hard sell, a straightforward review of upcoming recommended services based on mileage. I brought in two coupons, and manager tested both to get me the best deal. Everyone nice and polite. He would not give an estimated time of completion, yet he was willing to complain about the shortage of personnel in the shop. This Jiffy Lube location does a great job. The other 620 location (across from H-E-B) has screwed me over before by overcharging or messing something up and normally hassles me about other services. THIS location is awesome, always prompt and quick, does a great job and doesn't harass me about needing additional things done. Walter is the manager here and he is fantastic. Went to Jiffy Lube as I have been taking my vehicles there for years. The manager welcomed me and informed me that my 2004 Tundra was required to use synthetic oil. Obviously he was trying to increase cost. I ask if he could use the oil that I had been using and he said no problem. I ask for the price and next surprise was that the price increased almost $20. I noticed some banners over all 3 doors that said $29 for oil change. he quoted almost double the advertised price. He then told me that those signs were no good any longer. So I chose not to pay $55 plus tax. This place looks very crooked to me. BE CAREFUL........ read more

So, driving by this location every day, I see two things. (1) no customers, (2) a banner that says they take competitors coupons. Lucky for me, I have a coupon for an oil and filter change from a competitor, $19.99. I drive to jiffy lube. The attendant then proceeds to tell me that they only discount $15 for a competitor from their normal price. What's their normal price? $45. In a time where oil prices are lower than they've been in the past 30 years, somehow, jiffy lube's oil is worth much more than everyone else's. They've hiked their price $15-20 more than everywhere, than they are "willing" to discount by $15. They also stress all of the other things it includes, such as tire check, vacuum, etc. I tell him I don't want those things, just an oil and filter. The coupon I have is for an oil and filter, no frills. I want to compare apples to apples. Oil change to oil change. Problem is, they don't do that - they make you accept those frills, at a price of course. The guy says flat out that there's no way they'll match that price. The lowest they can possibly go is about $30. I guess their oil change is magic or something. During this time, no customers. Including me. I can live with their $15 fine print. But I'm not going to compare apples to their oranges by paying extra for air in tires, vacuum, and a bunch of other stuff I don't need. No thanks. I've been there a bunch of times in the past. I hate that crap sales pitch, where they try to replace my $50 washable air filter with their garbage $7 version that they charge $20 for. They even tried to sell my wife a bunch of stuff they don't actually do in the past. I don't think I'll ever be so pressed for time that is go back there again. I know why it's jiffy though - it better be jiffy! Everyone that walks in the door is first in line! If you're not prepared to actually accept a competitors coupon, than you probably shouldn't have a 15' banner outside saying that you do. I've had plenty of bad experience with jiffy lube in the past, and would generally not go there for anything. I accidentally pulled in with my motorcycle to jiffy lube instead of the place next door (they share a lot). Once I realized I was at the wrong place the guy had already started with the process and I figured I would just get it over with at that point. The guy insisted on taking my bike for a ride, which no other inspection place asks to take it for a ride, and I agreed, very uncomfortably, figuring they're the professionals. He comes back and tells me there an issue with my horn, on my brand new bike. At this point I was upset, and just took my bike and left. I went to the place next door, the professional had ME test it in front of him, horn was working perfectly fine and it passed inspection no problem. I would never go to jiffy lube again, they might seem friendly but they do not know vehicles and they will mess it up. read more
