I was not impressed with my experience at the Jiffy Lube in Cockeysville, owned by Frank Fulco. I had a basic oil change and it was $93 including tax, which is ridiculous. Within five minutes of me sitting in the lounge, the technician, Lamar brings in my cabin filter and says I need a new one. I couldn't even understand what he was saying he was mumbling so bad. I had him repeat it. He said "cabin filter". I looked at the dirty filter and said "how much will that be?". He said $49.99. I said "no thank you". I looked up the filter on Amazon and it was $11 and will be at my house today (overnight). The representatives of this Jiffy Lube were less than impressive and courteous. When I got in my car, it smelled like marijuana. Some people might like that smell, I do not. Then as I was driving home the entire front of my car was smoking. When I pulled in the driveway, my husband came out and said "what the hell?", you just had an oil change and paid $93. So he called the store and whoever answered the phone and spoke to him basically said "there was nothing wrong with the oil change service provided , the new oil filter they put in or the service performed. That was it and they hung up. My husband was furious and he said to me "they absolutely could careless". Needless to say, we won't go back to Jiffy Lube anywhere ever again. read more

I've gone to this location multiple times over the years and they have always been so kind. Also, I know nothing about cars but each time I've asked questions or just wanted to learn they take the time to explain it to me without making me feel stupid. Today was a particularly light day so they took me out to show me how to check my oil on my own and explain what and wasn't a safe level.. even how to top it off on my own if I was in a pinch! Do not take your car to Jiffy Lube! They created an oil leak in my engine and my car is now leaking oil faster than I can put it in. I brought it to the Cockeysville Jiffy Lube without any issues. Not a drop was leaking. Now...my driveway is covered in oil! read more

Avoid this place and take your business elsewhere. Everything went fine--except the tire pressure indicator light was on when I left. All they did was give me a bunch of lame excuses on why this was the case, including telling me it might go away after I drove a little--which I know wasn't true. I went someplace else, and it turned out that the indicator just had to be reset--so it didn't cost me anything. Still, it was an inconvenience, and Jiffy Lube should have been able to correct the problem they created before I left. read more

Husband took my car to get an oil change. I put in my information online and got an estimate for 69.00 with high milage oil. He came home not long after with a receipt of 92.99!!! And they used synthetic oil! On top of that...I now live in Monkton instead of Baltimore so receipt says. Wtf. read more

Won't come back to this place. Brought my car in back in July. Was up sold on fluids which I don't mind. What I do mind is when one of their techs broke an inside light fixture ( probably cost about $1 to fix which I requested they do. Corey agreed to order the part to replace it. Fast forward 4 weeks and still no plastic part or resolution. After multiple times stopping in and getting the run around I let it go a couple of weeks. I came back 2 weeks ago and spoke with Lamont who said we didn't break it. Yes, you did because when I got home I found the part on my seat like someone had put it there and you were the only guys who were in my car that day! So here we are 6 weeks after my oil change and no resolution. I also called Fulco industries main number and left a message with one of their managers and a message with the office manager a week ago and nothing. Mind you, I spent $225 in this place and only asked for them to order the plastic piece and pop it on. I won't be back and I would suggest not bringing your car here. read more

This place is great for an oil change...(get online coupons so it is not 45 dollars.). They always take the air filter and cab filter out to show you "how dirty" it is. Spend 10 minutes looking things up, and you can replace both filters for less than what they charge you to replace ONE. The offer other services, and if they are willing to work with you....some can be good deals. Just know.....replacing a cab filter, does not cost 50 dollars. read more

This place is a fucking joke. Wife went in for an oil change and that is it. Told them that when she arrived. They tried the air filter scam and told her it would be $180.00 and she said no thank you. Good on her. Then they did something to her battery and tried to tell her it was bad because the car wouldn't start when they were done. They took the battery out of the car for some reason and that she would need a new one. I told her to tell them to put it back in and move the car outside when they are done. Each person was kind, friendly, and working so hard to keep it moving. Every time I go to this location, they make up some dumb excuse for why they can't give me an oil change. Last time, they said I was a couple hundred miles early which I knew, but I went early because I knew I wouldn't have the time in the coming weeks. Today, they told me they couldn't service my car because of some rattling they heard from my car. The staff are friendly and polite but there was one issue that was rather funny although completely incorrect regarding the oil level in my car. I brought in a 2010 Honda Accord for a regular oil change. The car was low on oil and the oil fill cap had come off and was sitting next to the mouth of the oil fill. Not a good start on my part but this was my 18 yo daughters car and I had not really touched it since purchase in May. The person responsible for advising me on what needed to be done suggested the oil had splattered out due to the cap coming off. the dipstick indicated it was about 2 quarts low. To which I stated that " I don't see any oil splattered all over the place" (Engine was rather clean and no oil streaks anywhere). To that he then suggested I go with synthetic oil over conventional oil since it "holds up much better to heat and the car won't burn through so much oil with synthetic like it does with regular oil." In fact this was the likely culprit, *the heat from the engine*! This is not water that evaporates, this is oil. There was clearly another (read: factual) reason for the very low oil level. Again, I bought none of the "evaporation argument" since that's not how the laws of physics works with respect to heat and oil at least not in an otherwise mechanically stable car. The real culprit (after I suggested looking at the drain plug) was an incorrectly fitted washer/gasket on the drain plug that the Honda dealership had installed. I had purchased this car used from Honda dealership and clearly that was their mistake as it had a genuine Honda oil filter and oil hadn't been changed since purchase. Thanks to me--not Jiffy Lube staff--for helping to diagnose the real problem. Cabin air filter: While I understand the need to make money, charging $40 for a cabin air filter is a little high when I can buy one at a Walmart for $19 and replace it in less than 5 minutes. Why not drop the price and get more volume in sales? The cabin air filter is easy to access and change as it sits right behind the glove box in many car models. They also offered brake service which was almost laughable given the synthetic vs conventional oil rationale I heard earlier. This isn't a bad outfit, but clearly they aren't hiring the best and brightest. That's ok, I feel like they generally do a decent job. If I have to have JL change my oil in the future, I will be sure to have a new cabin and intake manifold air filters just to avoid the obligatory up-sell discussion. It's just annoying and on top of that they really don't give out accurate diagnostic advice which instills zero confidence from a consumer perspective. read more

This place was awesome, they got me in and out in about 15 mins and there was like 6 guys all over my car doing all kinds of stuff, they vacuumed and cleaned everything, topped off my windshield wiper fluid, checked all my liquids and cleaned out my air filtered all in 15 mins. 10/10 recommend read more

Fast service but they recommended a new air filter for $50 and a brake fluid flush for $100. Showed me an absolutely filthy air filter and some strip that supposedly tested my brake fluid. Checked my records when I got home and less than a year ago my regular mechanic changed my air filter and flushed the brake fluid when I had front and rear brakes replaced. Checked my air filter and it looks almost brand new so Jiffy lube showed me a filter that wasn't mine!!!!! This is why I only use jiffy lube if I am in a hurry and don't have time to leave my car with my mechanic. Never trust them for any "recommendations"! read more

This was the third visit in 3 days... First- they didn't have the correct filter but they ordered it... Second- I was informed by a disinterested employee that they had a wait of over 40 minutes... Third- getting ready to leave when another disinterested employee informed me that it would be a 45 minute wait because they were short-staffed. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! They RIPPED me off today. They sold me an engine filter WITHOUT replacing my engine filter. I came for an Oil Change, wanted a conventional one and not a synthetic, I own a Toyota. So a conventional will do. I was pulled out of the waiting room and the guy got my information such as name and address. Then he told me I needed to get Synthetic because my car requires that and that my car even says it on there (pointing to it) I saw and said OK. Then he said my engine air filter was dirty and even showed it to me, he said you need to be able to see thru it and so I said ok. Oil change and engine air filter. I got in my car getting ready to go home, and I noticed that there is a big printer like machine on the passenger seat. It was my Glove compartment! I asked someone to fix it. and he did. I kept asking questions, how come they did this. He said its because your car has 2 engine filters, one inside the engine and one below your glove compartment. So then I said "ok,I paid for one of them look" (pointing to my receipt.) Which one is this that I paid for? He checked as he was putting the glove compartment back together he said not this one. He then asked me to pop the hood for him to check and it wasn't that one either. I learned my lesson. ALWAYS check and make sure they aren't pulling a fast one on you. They took advantage of me because I am young and am a female. It's not right. I am very hurt about this. I went home telling my boyfriend about it and just feeling like I can't trust anyone. I'm glad this experience happened because It will only make me stronger and have me making sure to always check. They then refunded me 25$ for the air filter that was never installed. They said they were out of stock....I was very disappointed.. and sad. I still ended up paying 99$ even after a 10$ coupon. I have no idea why, I will be returning to the store tomorrow to settle things. Everything was good about this place, they were nice to me, opened the door, offered coffee, opened the door to my car when I got in. Customer service is great. Took my car here today. I will never return. Although the staff seemed nice enough, they desperately tried to sell me services that I did not need. I came in for a standard oil change. This was the only service that I needed. I was told that my brake pads were at a "2" and needed to be changed and a tire balance and rotation. What the guy didn't know is that two months prior my car had been fully serviced with all new tires put on. I didn't need the over $300 in services that he was trying to sell me. I asked my 17 year old son to get an oil change and tire rotation for his car with 130K miles because regular mechanic could not get to it this weekend. Jiffy Lube upsold him a $100 coolant change + $200 new spark plugs saying he authorized both but my son claims was only told about oil change and air filter. WOW!!! Top 3 customer service experiences I have had in my life! As a business owner, I am always appreciative of the extra mile professionals go beyond just the job. I was greeted at my car by one attendant, another one took me into the waiting area and offered fresh coffee and told me the names of everyone helping me today, and within 15 minutes, my car was ready! I was already extremely pleased, but the kindness continued. A nice woman held open the waiting area door for me, and the experience was completed with a gentleman opening my car door for me! WOW!! You can tell some of them are just saying a script but Rob is a really stand up guy and always makes my day when i go in to get my oil done. This isn't to say no one else there is awesome, but Rob is usually the guy that takes care of me so I remember his name. I have been an extremely loyal jiffy lube customer for a few years for my routine oil changes but I will never be returning and will be telling others not to go due to my experience today. I went in for an oil change and also mentioned my engine light was on. My car had been running completely fine prior so I was just curious why it was on. They said they would see what it was and let me know. They came back and told me it was the thermostat coolant sensor and would cost $500 and would take 2 hours to do. I told them I would need to check with my dad and would let them know but was okay to start. I come back 5 minutes later to tell the guy who had been helping me that I didn't want to do it and to please stop whatever had started and would pay for the 5 mins of service out of inconveniencing them. He was visually frustrated but said okay and that my oil change was done. So I sit down and 30 minutes go by and I'm confused why it is taking long but figured they may be doing other things that go along with oil change and didn't want to be rude and rush as there were several other people there. Eventually it's 45 minutes and I go up to another guy, rob, who was not the original guy I talked to and said I wanted to clarify that they stopped the work as I stated to do so 40 minutes ago. He had no idea of that and said I owed 608!!! I was so confused and I asked to speak to the original guy I talked to and he said that he didn't want to come out and he would handle it. (Terrible customer service on the original guys part...I deserved a conversation). Rob worked with me and was very helpful in trying to rectify the situation but bottom line is I as stilled charged 140 dollars because they had to take out the parts they had put in. And literally 3 minutes after pooling out of the lot my car started to shake and broke down. Overall I am just extremely upset because I feel that I was taken advance of and not respected as a customer. I was given the decency to talk to the guy who I had spoken to and felt that to be extremely rude and terrible customer service. At the end of the day I was ripped off/scammed and ended up paying 140 dollars for them to mess with my car and make it not drivable. Will never be going back and will be warning others! read more
