I brought my car for a diagnostic for a grinding sound when braking. They told me my rotors were "rusted, warped and pitted" and needed to be replaced for $785. Charged me $50 for the diagnostic. I brought my vehicle to Mr. Tire for a second opinion (FREE DIAGNOSTIC BRAKE CHECK). Mr. Tire said my rotors where fine I just needed a brake adjustment and some additional brake fluid for $185. In addition to the deceptive business practices, the Store Manager lied about contacting my warranty company.... He said they denied my claim. When I inquired about the denied claim the Warranty Company said there was no record of a Claim Submission. He lied about contacting me as well, saying he left me a message when he did not. So I have taken my car here for oil changes over the years. They said they couldn't do a repair on my Mazda 6 and to take it somewhere else. I started stopping in to get my tire pressure checked. I always tip the guys so it's not free. One day the manager decides to charge me $13 for the air! I said "They never charged me before" and he said "Now we do." Very poor customer service and do not recommend. How long does it take to check the tires when they have the equipment? Less than 5 minutes. Wow is all I can say. read more

I was broke down and towed into their shop no one told me about $125 diagnostic fee they tried to take it vantage of me because I was from out of state I need my car fixed to solder three wires back together that broke from the exhaust manifold area they wanted $600 for Four hours of labor only. 2 hour walk-in oil change. About a hour and half slower than doing it myself. I got here at 9am. 3 managers and a front desk guy upfront in the office/waiting area eating snack an drinking coffee. At least 2 mechanics visited the vending machine and it's not even 10am. It's just a oil change. How is this convenient or profitable? Seriously this should be in and out in a half hour. Perhaps multi tasking would help. You know remove the plug drain the oil while you are doing something else. No progress report after a hour of sitting here. So far only one customer paid and left on over a hour. Now it's 10:30 no one has said a word to me. 10:35 it's fi P.S. The Trump bobblehead should not be in a place of business. Why? Be he is a horrible human being. And since the management obviously supports him and the company allows the display of the trump bobblehead. I knew the moment I spoke with them what they were capable of and I decided to just let them handle business. I'm used to bothering a shop for updates, but I knew in my gut they knew the assignment and that they actually gave a damn about the quality of their work. These guys saved me several thousand dollars, several months of waiting for parts, and made absolutely sure my SRT got the performance parts needed to keep it running the way it was designed. My warranty company was fighting to cut corners on a job that would've made my car a paper weight, if left undone. Not only did they get it done, they did it without me having to get involved and they kept me in the loop the whole time. Took my car in for wheel alignment. The guys behind the counter all greeted me and I didn't have a long wait due to a scheduled appointment. Jason from Precision Tune Auto Care of Hunt Valley was very professional and thoroughly explained to me why they couldn't due to a wheel alignment repair. He pointed out what needed to be repair in order for them to do a wheel alignment. He had the parts, labor, time and pricing for the repairs printed out for me. They are honest. I came back a few weeks later without an appointment. Again, I was greeted by the guys with professionalism. Jason remembered me from my last visit. He squeezed me in that day and I am grateful for that. I waited for my car to be serviced and was out of there about a little over an hour. Jason, thank you. I came in for a tire patch. Most of the job seemed fine. It took 45 minutes. There was a comfortable waiting room with free WiFi. However at the end I checked my tire pressures. The patched tire was at 30 psi. While the opposite tire was 40 psi. It was easy enough to adjust the pressure, but it seems sloppy and careless of them to not make sure the tire pressures were equal and makes me concerned about what else they might miss. This location and the staff were so great from the very beginning. I found the location because I purchased a Groupon. Not only were they able to show me exactly what was wrong woth my vehicle ( I needed new front brakes and rotars) but they explained it in a way that didnt make me feel incompetent ( I am not a car guy). The entire staff especially Nolan was friendly and courteous and best part I was in and out in 90 minutes! On Jan. 10, 2019, I brought our Toyota Highlander to this shop to have new tires mounted and balanced, along with an alignment. While getting this work done, I was told that the rear brake pads were down to the metal (0/32), and were eating into the rotors. The additional "recommended" brake work totaled $435. I declined the additional work, and when I got home, I discovered that what I'd been told was false. I checked the rear brakes, and the pads were fine - between 4/32 (piston side) and 6/32 (non-piston side). They had plenty of wear left, and were not even close to the wear sensors. This was obviously an attempt to generate additional work which was not needed. It's fraudulent conduct, and I recommend staying as far away from this shop as possible. read more

The quality of repair service here is excellent. They are very thorough and have always carefully explained everything so that even a dummy like me can understand exactly why/what they are doing when it comes to repairs. The main reason I chose 5 stars is the great attention to customer service. I had an issue that basically involved an unexpected last second repair that was discovered 95% of the way into repair. It was a significant amount, though it had to be done. I expressed my discontent over it, and went about my way. The manager seemed unhappy that I was unhappy. So he rolled out the red carpet and showed that the quality of their repairs is 2nd to the quality of their customer service. They've done so much to make it up to me that I know for sure I will continue to use them when I need them. I trust this shop to do the right thing, and would highly recommend the front end manager Stan as a professional that takes pride in his shop and the customer experience. read more

They sold my wife an overpriced fuel system clean that was unnecessary. They took advantage of her naivety. We have no issue with fuel injectors, or carbon build up. For all they knew I could have had the service done previously. It is not a recommended service by the manufacturer. They had a new customer and they screwed us for a few more dollars. I began coming here a couple years ago. I needed a major repair. I couldn't afford it, they financed me. I continued to use their services until they began finding things wrong with my car. I took it to another mechanic who said the repairs needed to be done but not with the urgency that Precision claimed. They told me I would need new brakes in 5,000 miles. After 10,000 miles my brakes were still working fine. Needed a new set of tires, went to their competition. Guess what? My brakes are in excellent condition. I needed a shop to work on a diesel truck because my trusted mechanic for nearly 20 years doesn't work on diesels. A friend who is a car guy (like me) recommended the team at Precision Tune. I must admit I struggled with the name at first because Precision Tune used to "tune-up" my cars in the 1980's. The need for an old fashioned "Tune-up" died with carburetors. I followed my friend's advise and found the shop to be exactly as he described. The team is friendly, knowledgeable, and customer focused. I trusted them to do a lot of work on the truck (none of which you would expect given their company name) and they went out of their way to make sure I was fully satisfied. I would say I'm tougher to satisfy than the typical car owner because I've owned over 30 cars and like to tinker with them myself. This was not the first shop I tried after I bought this diesel truck, but I'm happy to report it's the last one I need to try. They won my business and would recommend them to anybody. read more

We purchased a Groupon for Precision Tune and the York Road location was mistakenly chosen. We live close to the York Road facility, however when trying to make an appointment it took several calls for them to even answer the phone, and when they did, the gentleman was flip and dismissive. It didn't instill a lot of confidence. We called the corporate headquarters and explained that we'd like to change our selection to the Timonium branch. They said that was privately owned, but if Timonium agreed to honor the Groupon, corporate would work out the details. We called Timonium and Nolan was a treat to deal with. Our Groupon was accepted and we had them look at a few things not covered by it. We now have a re-charged AC system and our brakes no longer squeal. In this day and age, it is refreshing to come across retailers who put customers first. Nolan and his staff certainly do that. We drove 10 miles further to have our car serviced in Timonium and we're not sorry we did. We will continue to choose this location. Thanks, Nolan! read more

It took almost two hours for an oil change for which I had an appointment. They didn't take my car into the bay until I said something about my car still sitting where I parked it. When I shared my concerns about it taking so long, the manager did say, "Well, you were late for your appointment." I did arrive 8 minutes late after calling to say I was on my way. At no point was I told there would be a delay. The upcharge for a synthetic oil change with the coupon is $30, which is to say there is no special, coupon, or deal for synthetic oil. Just call a spade, a spade, and stop jerking me around. Not returning. read more

Ripped off and blown off: A friend who works near the Precision Tune in Cockeysville referred me to them when my transmission was acting up. I went in and told them my car was shifting hard and that I thought it was the transmission. After they looked at the car, they told me I needed new engine mounts because the old ones were so worn, which was causing the shifting problem. They also welded the exhaust hangar and the total charge was over $700. The next day I was still experiencing the shifting problems, so I emailed them 2 days later and told them this, but then waited a few weeks to take it back to see if it improved. When it didn't improve, I went back and then they told me I needed a new transmission... which is what I told them in the first place. They gave me an estimate of $4500 for a remanufactured transmission. I called several other places, all of which were cheaper and they gave me several options upfront... different used transmissions with different mileages and warranties etc ranging from $2000-$3500. One place even told me he would have replaced the engine mounts for FREE because they need to be removed to get to the transmission! Needless to say, I went elsewhere for the transmission and called Precision Tune asking to speak to the owner and to get at least a partial refund on the labor charges, since the work they did on the engine mounts did not fix the issue. The exhaust hangar also broke again. I called numerous times for at least 3 months but was just blown off. When I finally talked to the owner, he told me I could have a credit towards a few oil changes but he would not refund any of my money. No thanks! My attorney also contacted them but received no response. My friend who referred me to them feels terrible. I will never return to this place and will make sure no one I know ever goes there either. read more

Rip off. Paid $29 for an oil change on Groupon. Get there to discover 60$ in additional fees. Told me oil plug is spinning so have to get replacement pan. Went back to jiffy lube (where I got last oil change) and he can replace part for a few dollars and do whole oil change for a little more than the additional fees alone at Precision. So spent $29 on Groupon to sit there for a half hour, that's it. Hate that place don't go there. read more

Not only are they polite and professional but they are very generous, providing courtesy pickup/dropoff service, and even providing free services for being a returning customer.
