Brought my car in for a routine oil change. Few weeks later, the entire front portion of the skidplate detached on Rt. 70. I was lucky to be able to safely exit, and pull over without getting into an accident. This shop failed to reattach the skidplate, leaving the majority of the 8 to 10 screws out. The manager was nice enough when I called to tell him I was having my car towed to his shop so they could remedy what they failed to complete during my oil change. Avoid this shop unless you plan to quiz them after they are done, to make sure they've reassembled your car properly. Be prepared to wipe grease off the interior of your car too. No special care is taken to avoid grease on steering wheel, all surfaces they need to touch to complete an oil change. read more

I had a HORRIBLE, experience that resulted in a very Dangerous situation that put our 22-yr old daughter and two friends stranded on the road. After waiting for over 30 minutes and overhearing other customers complain about problems that resulted from their service, I drove off and got the car back to our daughter. Store #451 at 9267 Baltimore National Pike (Rt. 40) had cross-threaded the WRONG OIL FILTER in my Lexus. After enough oil had spilled out on the road, the engine just stopped in the middle of the road. I had to have the car towed to a garage and they fortunately were able to fix it. I asked the Manager of this store (#451) to compensate my daughter and I for our anxiety, the time it took to deal with the matter and the unknown damage that was caused to the engine, but was told NO. read more

I was reminded why I don't use Jiffy Lube. They pulled out my air filter with leaves in it. I told him that I would replace it. I asked them to just shake off the excess dirt/leaves and they refused. First time in this Jiffy Lube and talk about speed! Came about 630 PM and these guys changed the oil, air filter, and wind shield wipers in 15 minutes flat!! Amazing and some super friendly techs working at this station. These guys have it down to a science. I had been going to the "other" chain because you don't have to get out of your car, but this will be my go to place from now on. read more

These guys are great. It's my first time at this location and it won't be my last. Funny (short) story. I just took my husband's car to a different JL and they didn't really say much/do much. I dropped off that car, picked up mine and came to this location. One man put on PBS kids right away and then asked me what I came in for. Might not seem like a big deal, but with my littles in tow and it being close to lunch time - this is a huge gesture to me to show they care. Like really. read more

These men are the BEST !!! This has always been my go to location, but today I screwed up and went before they were open. I have worked retail and couldn't stand the early birds, Hahaha. But these awesome guys opened up for me!! They were their usual friendly professional selves, and my God, my interior is so clean!!! :) I have really let my car go since this whole pandemic mess, and I cannot express how much joy I feel, having the interior/floor boards spotless. The attendant who explained services and options was patient and professional and even let let know I could pull up coupons online. Blown engines seem to be a common outcome from taking your car to this Jiffy Lube after seeing some of the other reviews. This is, by far, the WORST Jiffy Lube imaginable. I always to go my trusted Jiffy Lube on Dobbin Rd in Columbia, but decided to go here since I was in Ellicott City and needed service. These imbalances were unorganized, slow, and the inadequate service performed on my vehicle that day caused my engine to blow, a mere 4 weeks later. I had the signature oil change (39.99), Internal Engine Cleaning (59.99), and TX7 Performance Coating (28.99) done. And all for what? A blown engine. Who knows what these idiots did to my car, but I implore to anyone reading this... DO NOT GO HERE! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. I just reported one of their managers to Corporate because the service was so bad. I came in for an oil change yesterday, which initially, was very smooth. At one point, a female mechanic named Steff, turns on my car, to which I hear the other workers screaming, "TURN THE CAR OFF! TURN THE CAR OFF!". I look up and see grey smoke coming out of my car. Of course any car owner that sees smoke come out of their car's front is going to be suspicious as hell. So Steff walks into the waiting area and she proceeds to check me out. I immediately asked her why was my car smoking, and she proceeds to tell me how "water hit the engine and steam was created". Ok, 1. why was water near my car? and 2. the steam happened when the car turned on, not when the water was spilled. I asked Steff if she could document that for me because I'm planning to get my car sold soon. She flat out refuses my request, and says how I didn't know how steam worked as a process. Steff then tells me how steam worked as if I were an 8-year old child. It was one of the rudest customer services I've ever received. If it wasn't so bad in your eyes, then why did you not want to document it and got in my face? My car kept smoking and smelling the entire car ride home, and my boyfriend and I immediately looked into it. It was that they spilled oil on the engine and when Steff started the car, it started to burn the oil on it. I guess that means she lied to me about the "water and steam" BS. Oh, and the kicker to all of this is that Steff is one of the managers. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs. It scares the s**t out of me that even the managers don't know what the hell they're doing to your car. read more

Oil change is quick. It took about 20 minutes. My kids and I waited in the waiting room which had a little tv. They did try to sell you other services like any other repair shop but they weren't pushy about it. They cleaned my windows and vacuumed my car but the did other parts a little dirty (the outside of it). Which is not a big deal. They were courteous and nice. My wife took her car in here with our 2 young kids. She told them not to touch the air filters since I just changed both of them. They acted offended when she said this. I'm not sure the rest of the details, but she said she felt intimidated there. They charged 89 dollars for synthetic, which was way too much for a 1.8L. Not bad for regular oil though, $41 and pretty fast service. Why act this way toward any customer, let alone a woman with kids? Pretty bad business practice. So far, no Jiffy Lube in Maryland has been a good experience, 0/3. The locations in the rural Southeast are much better in my experience, which I wouldn't have guessed. read more

As they are closer by, I tried out. Brought my own oil, charged me $40, since when did this oil change service fee has gotten so high? Somewhat understandable but employees are full of anger, seem to me. Slamming shut my hood is another, damn, show some decency to customers. Of course, I won't return to this one. I don't understand all the hate towards this location's Jiffy Lube. I've been going to them for all of my minor fixes and oil changes since I got my car (6 years ago). They've never over-charged me, and I've always been in and out in a reasonable amount of time, usually sooner than expected. They're always willing to help me out with little things like replacing my blown headlights, and they usually top off my fluids for free even when it's not required. read more

Haven't yet checked the oil levels (as people have complained about over filling), but only disappointment was that wiper fluid wasn't topped off & carpets weren't vacuumed. The negative reviews are right. Not only are the staff rude, but you can't trust them to do a good job, or to even do what you pay them to do. I don't understand how a business can come to be so bad as to even fail at supplying the product they advertise. They must only still be in the business based on the "Jiffy Lube" name being attached to them. But be warned, you will get very poor service here. Got there just after opening, second in line. Thinking this is going to be a 15-minute in-and-out job. Think again - manager Steff hadn't booted up the office computer prior to opening and got a fatal error message. This paralyzed the shop for an hour and a half, during which time they continued to take more customers as the cars stacked up out front. We had someplace to go and when we offered to leave our card information were told "be patient!" Essentially we were held hostage by a manager who had no clue what to do other than talk to corporate on the phone and snap at customers. Sorry, Steff, but there are too many other competitors out there who can do this job for me. I realize stuff happens, but you should either have a plan for these occurrences or be willing to make some reasonable accommodation. read more

This place tried twice to put the wrong oil in my car. Older cars are specified to use 5W30. Some current cars, particularly 4 cylinder cars, use 5W20. Their database has all 2.4L engines made by Chrysler listed as taking the thinner oil. They buy the thinner stuff by the barrel and put it in all cars. Some dealers play this game also. Avoid all of these. The one in Columbia is run by the same (bad) management. Avoid both. read more

They are okay, very average. I've been taking my car here for years for general maitenance and oil changes. Everything seems good enough. Free coffee in the waiting room, "mileage reminder" stickers, and regular car services. I've never had major problems with this place. As with all car service centers, sometimes when you go there you might feel pressured to get additional maitenance and may feel ripped off. But that's everywhere. This place is at least 10x better than Sears Auto care next to Columbia Mall. There you feel ripped off and they MESS UP the job. Jiffy lube does not screw up. read more

I had oil change today. This guy tries to sell you all kinds of service and talks so fast, you can't hear anything. He then shouts "He is on my way" and I could hear that even inside the waiting room. Worst mistake to go there today. This front desk person didn't even greet me.
