I don't understand all the negative reviews, especially the ones complaining about the price of an oil change. Yeah, inflation sucks and it's not their fault. I've always been treated amazingly and if they find an issue, they ALWAYS ask if I want the service performed before they do it. "Jack"" is a jackass. On December 19, 2024, I went to a Jiffy Lube at 3300 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 for an oil change. I had gone for service at this location multiple times before over the course of several years, and had always been mostly satisfied. However, on this date, "Jack" (as stated on his jacket name patch, with Jack being a middle-aged white male with grey hair and some facial hair) was the receiving technician, and he was bizarrely sarcastic and rude. To make matters worse, his "jokes" (which only seemed to amuse himself) all centered around my obvious veteran status (e.g., I had a duffel bag on my back seat, and was wearing a military-style hat). "Jack" started off his "conversation" with me by attempting to address me as a "soldier," and to give me bizarre "orders." He then asked if I had brought any "GI Joe action figures" to have something to occupy myself with while I waited for service. I am a veteran, and I am also a calm man who responds proportionately. I told "Jack" that he was obviously an unfunny "Jackass" who clearly did not value my business, and I turned around and got service from one of your competitors on the same street. I will probably do this again for quite a while, and it's possible I will not return to this particular Jiffy Lube location at all in the future. I think it's a safe bet that "Jack" has this effect on many customers. Most especially, we, the 2% who serve, deserve much better treatment than this from your business. read more

I won't be returning since my EX works here, however since he had an attitude with me because of just simply existing, i won't be returning, however none of my employees from CNX will be returning here either, since i am the manager of CNX Well sites, my employees are now BARRED from coming here because of him, one employee will probably break our trucks or something, so a not so trust worthy business, never was never will be. We had a contract here, but no longer will Jiffy Lube or its subsidaries will have our business because of one unprofessional employee, outside of that, i'm changing this review. All I wanted was for my lights to be changed and new windshield wipers and it took them an hour to do it. It wasn't busy and when my car was getting fixed I watched the guys walk away from my car and had it untouched for 10 mins. When it was finally done it took 15 mins for someone to even come back in the room and I had to ask if I could pay so that I can leave. They also charged me for 3 lights even though I had a consultation for only 2 lights out. Unacceptable. read more

The employees on Plank Road near Fredericksburg must be deliberately trying to destroy the good name of Jiffy Lube. I took a wrong/illegal turn into the parking lot. I was wrong but no tires were screeching and no one was endangered. JL had NO CUSTOMERs. They all stared at me like I had murdered someone. Eventually one employee reluctantly came out. He had an attitude. I told him that I needed a tire rotation and an oil change. He said, "what oil do you want in it?" I said, "I normally take it to the dealer, I will have to look it up, can you look it up in the book for me". He said, "No that's for you to figure out." I said, "Is there a problem, I am sensing a bad vibe, is there something wrong" The guy said, "we all noticed that you turned the wrong way when you came up in here" I asked him, "are you the State Police?" I then drove away because it was clear that they didn't want to work. The good news is that they made me feel so bad about that one illegal turn...it will be a long time before I ever do that again. The bad news for Jiffy Lube and the people who worked hard to establish this business is that it's employees are trying to literally run away business. read more

Inadequate service provided causing damage to the vehicle. Given poor service from manager when brought to their attention followed by no return call from corporate until 3 additional calls made. Advised them that we understand accidents happen and to just make it right, even after being patient and spending well over $500 to fix the issue they caused their end response ..two weeks later. We will give you a voucher for services, now why would we return after this big of an repair issue was caused? A refund of the inadequate service provided is all that we wanted and would have parted ways and just never returned. So they choose to be dishonest in their service. I would not recommend. Even when errors occur they don't step up to correct only turn it around to avoid taking care of their consumers. Poorly run location will never return and I was a frequent. read more

First time at this specific location. Staff was mostly friendly however i was turned off by the greeter coming out and stating there is an hour and a half wait with only one car infront of me. He offered no explanation but i felt like he was insisting i go somwhere else. Naturally i asked what the car in front of me was doing and he stated he wasnt sure it just got pulled in. I replied that i guess id wait it out since i needed my oil changed. My truck was in the bay within 45 mins . Unfortunately it sat there for 30 mins while 2 gentlman stood talking. Finally they asked me ahat oil i wanted. Overall the staff was just not efficient at all. Total time in and out 1 hour 58 mins total time spent actually conducting my oil change 14 mins . My advice is if you need your oil changed and have to stop here male sure you have plenty of time. read more

He took the time to thoroughly explain to me the importance of a clean cabin filter and showed me the difference between a brand new one and mine. At the end of my visit he opens the truck door for me, replaces the sticker in the window, and then proceeds to make sure no smudges are on my truck door. This was my best Jiffy Lube experience ever. Zachary and Anthony were awesome. I told them I had a finite amount of time that I needed to get in and out, and that I wasn't interested in any ancillary services because I was going to drive my car into the ground. I had time to run to Chipotle and grab a lunch, because I was starving. My car was ready before I made it back. I asked for advice regarding my transmission and Zack did a great job odd breaking it down into layman's terms. The team was very personable and polite. Was greeted when pulled up and the man was nice however once I came in the lobby while they were doing my oil change and tire rotation, I watched the gentleman open my truck door and hit it on the pole, and watched two of the workers play around with my cameras and my sunroof on my truck( almost like they have never seen a car before)they consistently kept opening my doors and continued to not care that the door was being hit on the pole... I watched them open my console which they should have no reason with opening...... yes they may have completed the job but highly unprofessional considering the lobby has windows and you can see everything the workers are doing. As well as my total was 120 dollars when I can take it to ford and get it serviced for 40 dollars. read more

I brought my car in for a simple high mileage oil change. Before turning over the keys, I told the agreement I needed a high mileage oil change. He said no problem and lead me to the waiting room. A few minutes later, a different gentleman to my details, but told me that they don't carry high mileage oil in 10w30. I said that was fine, I'd take it elsewhere. It seemed strange to me that a place whose primary specialty is oil changes wouldn't have this oil, but whatever. The gentleman informed me that they'd already drained my oil! So they drained my oil without having the oil they *AGREED* to put in the car before I gave them the keys. The gentleman said the closest thing they could do for me would be to use conventional oil, and then put in some generic brand additive that I'd never heard of, which he said was the component that made regular oil high mileage. I honestly have no idea if this is true or not, but even if it is, it's still not the actual oil I asked for. I didn't have a lot of options with my car being drained of oil, so I asked how much that would be. The price he gave me was $10 *more* than the high mileage oil change. So they drained my oil, without having what they agreed to replace it with, and then they wanted me to pay them an extra $10 for some jurry-rigged equivalent. That wasn't happening. I told him that I wanted the conventional oil change, and I wanted him to throw in that additive for free, because I felt like this was a bait-and-switch. He went to get his manager. I explained to the manager that my car was completely drained of oil even though they didn't have the oil they agreed to replace it with, and that I felt like my car was being held hostage until I paid them an extra charge for something I didn't really even want. Now, if I was this guy, as a professional, I'd feel embarrassed for how this reflects on my shop. I would have apologize for my employee's mistake and comped the whole thing. This guy just agreed to drop the $10. So I'm still paying the same amount I would have for the high-mileage oil I wanted, but I'm not actually *getting* that oil. I'm getting their "mixture." It's like going to McDonalds and being told "we don't have any more quarter pounder patties, but we can give you this double cheeseburger, and that's pretty much the same amount of meat. By the way, the doors are locked, so if you want to leave, you have to buy this." I really wasn't in the mood to get into any kind of big fight over an oil change in 85 degree heat, so I just agreed to his terms. The best part is, after all this, he gives me instructions on what to ask for next time I come back. I had to stifle a laugh. "When I come back?" Buddy, if you think you're ever going to see me in your shop again you're out of mind. Clearly this man did not have an accurate read on this situation. read more

I love this location. The people who work here have pride in what they do. They are friendly, kind and thoughtful. Every time I have been here I am met with a warm smile and open door. Very shady operation. Quoted $40 to do basic oil change, then it ended up being $74 out the door for reasons that were not explained. Difficult to complain when they have your car. Still not confident they did it right....guy was pouring in oil from a plastic jug that didn't have the correct oil type on the label. Maybe it's just a jug thay re-use for any oil, but the whole operation seems very sketchy. read more

Went to this Jiffy Lube because it is on my way home from work. I haven't been there before but had gone to other Jiffy Lube locations and had not been overly impressed. This Jiffy Lube is quite different from the rest. The guys working in here are polite, courteous, knowledgeable and very attentive to detail. They take time to talk with you even if they are extremely busy. Every customer in the shop receives the same individualized treatment. Impressive. I have been here on three occasions. The first time was fine. Twice since, I have had issues. Once, a piece of metal got embedded in my tire. I drove the car out of their lot, noticed the issue, turned right back around to let them know that it did not feel right. They did remove the item for me, but refused to take any ownership of the issue. Just today I went for a routine oil change. They recommended to remove the tires and take a look at the brakes. After waiting for an hour, I finally got to leave. Halfway home I noticed a shaking and thumping near the rear of my vehicle. I was able to make it home, initially thinking there may be something, again, stuck in the tire. After some investigation, I noticed that the tire was wobbling back and forth as the lug-nuts had not been properly fastened. This could have turned out really badly for me. I am still waiting to hear back from the regional manager about how they are going to resolve this issue. I really hope they don't offer a free oil change, because I will not be using them, or any other location, in future. read more

I never have to wait long, if at all, for them to start on my car. They're very polite, and take the time to explain their recommendations even though I ask a lot of questions. And the one time in two years I had an issue where they didn't tighten my fan belt enough, they stood by their work and took care of it with no complaints. read more

I was passing through town when my brakes began to fail. They had a sign out front saying that they now do brake service. They pulled me in to a bay and started their free "brake inspection" of which was done without ever removing a wheel. The guy told me that I had a stuck caliper and needed to replace both rear calipers, both rear disks, brake pads and brake lines. Total price....$1100! I about blew a gasket. I argued with the guy for a few minutes and he kept saying that he would replace a caliper unless he does both sides, because he would be held responsible if the other one failed after leaving. Really!?! Responsible for a part that he didn't change? Never heard that one before. I told him to get my truck out of their bay, I was leaving. I left and went to Pep Boys down the street. They did what I wanted which was replaced the caliper, both disks, and pads. Driven it for about 500 miles and all is great. And the cost....$521. This place is a total rip off! They thought they had me because I was passing through town and had brake problems. read more

This is my first post to yelp (I have never been so shocked at blatant shylock behavior). My pregnant, 20 year old daughter brought my 2007 suburban in for differential gasket leak - clear leak that was causing smoke when the diff was hot. Unlike every other Jiffy Lube I've ever had a diff flush and fluid change done, these guys don't change the housing gasket "we flush through the drain plug". So the gasket is leaking and they dump new oil in despite my telling the manager on duty over the phone that the diff is leaking and I want the gasket changed. The young manager on duty when I brought it back was very gracious, admitted that the gasket was bad and suggested I could go to a nearby Jiffy Lube that does change the gasket as a part of the service and have it done at cost of parts- no labor. Before he could arrange that he called his general manager who wanted to speak to me on the phone - very clear the business values (or lack thereof) emanate from the top - he made it clear that this was a unique policy (not changing the gasket when the fluid is flushed and changed) to this location . He refused acknowledge the gasket was leaking despite 3 of his employees agreeing and also refused to come down and look at it himself. He was offended that I suggested he was ripping me and probably other people off. Also said he was offended that I was upset by that. I would never bring a vehicle to this Jiffy Lube location again and I hope the national brand folks understand that this kind of behavior tarnishes what was a long standing positive view of the company. Icalled to ask them if they could adjust my windshield wipers because I got my windshield replaced by a company and the put my wipers on wrong. They told me they could fix it, so I went it to get it done and a lady told me someone should be in the waiting room to talk to me. I waited almost an hour for someone to talk to me. When the man called me up to pay he told me it was going to cost $83! I WAS PISSED!!! I don't understand why they don't quote a price before doing any type of work. I asked him why it cost that much and he said because of labor and its $99 an hour for labor. My point is if you would've told me ahead of time that it was going to cost $99 an hour to adjust my wipers I could've decided if I wanted to get them fixed. I took my car in today for an oil change at the Plank Road Jiffy lube in Fredericksburg. When I arrived at 10:30, I very specifically stated that I only wanted an oil change. The attendant responded that 'OK, so you only want an oil change'. He told me that it would be about a 45 minute wait, which was fine. At around 12:00, I was called back into the bay to review a list of service that 'the manufacturer recommended'. The mechanic has my air filer and my cabin air filter sitting on the bench to show me that it was dirty. Removing my cabin air filter requires removing my glove box on the interior of my car! I specifically did not want any work done other than an oil change and I cannot understand why this was a challenge. I then had to argue with the mechanic because I did not want the filters changed! Then it took another 40 minutes to get oil in and get my car back together! Then I had to wait more until the mechanic came up so I could pay my bill. When I mentioned this to the mechanic/cashier and stated that I was unhappy, his response was 'what you have never been to Jiffy Lube? You don't know about our 'service here''? I get my bill paid and the guy directs me to the door and takes my receipt with him. He then proceeds to my car and messes with the doors as my kids and I are trying to get in. I had to wait outside my car for him to finally bring me my receipt. He then would not move away from my car door. I told him it's OK, I have it, and he barely moved back. I couldn't get my door all the way open and I had to ask him to move again. When he again wouldn't move, I literally told him to get away from my car! And he still barely moved away! As I recently hurt my back, It's pretty frustrating to need to open your door all the way and having to argue with someone just to get into your car. Then as I'm driving down the road, leaves and dirt start flying out of my car vents! After I get home and look around, I discover that the mechanic had simply jammed the cabin air filter into the hole and not bothered to clean out any of the debris! Which is the entire reason that I only wanted an oil change with no other services! So I then had to spend an hour this afternoon going over my car after getting service at Jiffy Lube! I then discovered that the engine air filter was covered in leaves on both sides. After screwing with my filters after I told then not to, they didn't even have the decency to clean out leaves in my engine air filter box! My power steering fluid and brake fluid are borderline low, and my coolant is extremely low! So I look at my receipt and it show the power steering and brake fluid are 'OK' and my coolant is marked as low which the mechanic did not mention even though he thought it was OK to take apart the inside of my car! I am once again reminded why no one with any sense should ever that their car to Jiffy Lube. I could had waited 2 hours for an oil change at any garage and had confidence that all of my fluids were actually filled! I would not recommend Jiffy Lube to anyone! read more

Is it appropriate to tune a customers radio to porn and listen to it instead of working? This is, by far, the most violated I have felt at any business in my lifetime. First off, it took over an hour for an oil change, while others were in and out in 20 minutes, I peaked through the window and saw employees sitting in my car laughing. They rotated in and out and one, in particular, reclined the seat and sat in the vehicle for 20 mins. When I got in my car, post service, there was a porn station on SiriusXM blaring in my car and they had programmed the station on my pre-sets. After speaking to the manager, Andra, about the issue, he didn't offer an apology, rather he stated (I'm paraphrasing) in front of a lobby full of customers "it's not my concern what you do in your car, I think your taste is disgusting and it's your prerogative to listen to porn." When I got out of the car to take pictures of the employees and video the response a 17 year old named Kevin threatened me to get back in my car, dropped the F-bomb, and the manager said he was going to call the police. Whatever you do, don't let the employee Devin work on your car or you risk being violated. read more

I had been going to the Jiffy Lube in Frederick, Maryland for years and they took great care of my car. I recently moved to Spotsylvania and am highly disappointed with this Jiffy Lube. The staff is friendly and fast, but every time I've had my car serviced there for oil changes I end up coming home with a problem. The first time my vehicle was leaking oil for two days after the oil change and that has never happened before with previous oil changes. After my last visit a strange noise began coming from my wheel well. I took my vehicle back and they explained I was due for front brakes soon. That was fine, but when I received my vehicle back it looked as though a knife was taken to my tan leather steering wheel. The deeply indented gash was noticeable right away and I spoke with the manager about it. All of the employees denied doing it and I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the franchise's main office. I don't understand why someone would feel provoked to do this? Avoid this location!!! read more

I took my car there for a simple oil change. They convinced me I needed the synthetic oil for $70 dollars which is not needed if you change your oil on a regular (5K) basis and you are not driving a high performance vehicle or in extreme conditions. But it does make them more money. Like magic our cabin filter also needed changing, which was just done two oil changes at the dealer. Now this part is what really ticked me off. They informed me that the brake fluid level was so low they could not even see any fluid in the reservoir. Instead of just offering to add to bring the level back to normal they informed me they needed to totally flush the brake system for $70 dollars. Keep in the mind the car is a 2015 model with only 34K miles. I said no. My friend looked at the car once I got home and the fluid level was a tad below the halfway point of the max-min level marks in the reservoir. In short was not even close to being low. It is very sad when a place like this pulls crap like this. Suggest you get your car serviced elsewhere. read more
