I would not normally give someone a single star but I feel it was justified here. I went to get my car serviced. The tech then came to say that I needed to replace my serpentine belt ASAP as it is bad and they could do it for $99. I asked him twice do we really need to do it as I did not feel like I could spend the money this time. He said he would not have strongly suggested it if it was not needed but I felt he was pushy. I then declined and took the car to my mechanic. My mechanic said the serpentine belt was in perfect shape and there was no reason at all to replace it. No cracks whatsoever. Jiffy lube has got to stop pushing out the agenda for their techs to oversell so they can get commission. This is becoming an issue of trust. read more

I generally do my own repairs, but was so busy, I had to bite the bullet and stop here. Went for a basic oil change, and had them throw in a new air filter as well. I get my car back, and immediately feel that it is running tougher than it had before they got their hands on it. I pop the hood, and find out they didn't tighten down a single screw for the air box when replacing the air filter. I had to finish the job they started. I had my daughter take her car to this Jiffy Lube for an oil change. They sold her a Premium oil change for $80. She told them she had a brake light out, they checked and said 3 bulbs were out and charged $60. She text me to tell me the cost and I said not to do the bulbs, she went back told the guy working on the car she didn't want them done (2 minutes after saying it was okay), and in an effort to humiliate her, he said "wait" and announced in the bay area very loudly "everyone stop, we need to remove the bulbs, she has changed her mind". I will not only never go to this Jiffy Lube, it is the last time I will take any of our vehicles to ANY Jiffy Lube. They are less than mediocre in their work, but expert thieves! read more

We were told 25 minutes because there was one vehicle ahead of us but they were done in 20 and the car looked great. Windows clean, carpets vacuumed, all fluids and tire pressure checked. read more

The worst Jiffy Lube I've ever been to! I would never recommend this to anybody! First thing they did was rip my windshield wiper blades. That's right I said ripped not checked. It took the guy in additional 15 minutes to try to upsell me five different things that I did not need. And in the end my cabin air filter was missing... Like gone... Where did it go? It's never been missing before! with the signature oil change it was supposed to get my windows wiped down, but it's obvious this guy didn't care about that since he left smudges on every single window. Went in for a simple oil change and to see if they could identify the noise that I was hearing. They were very professional and the technician that greeted me was very helpful.His name was Myles. I knew I needed a lot of things addressed and they performed the oil change, replaced my serpentine belt (noise I was hearing), and replaced cabin filter and air filter . Would rate lower if I could. Very pushy about upsells. Tried to sell me a serpentine belt for $90 because mine was supposedly cracked and the guy told me I'd be sorry when my "engine went boom." Little did he know that belt was about 2 weeks old. Should have made it weird asked them to show me, but I just wanted out of there so I politely declined. Also tried to sell my wife nitrogen in her tires for like $40 because regular air won't do. Stay away. read more

Every time I went for oil change, they "always" "always" recommended additional services (e.g., wiper blades, cabin filters, light cleaning...). If you just ask them to do it if necessary, you will always pay more than $100. There are more honest shops in this area. I don't recommend this shop. read more

I went here for an oil change and everything went fine. A few weeks later I took my Rav4 to the toyota dealership to get alignment and state inspection done. The head service tech at toyota told me that the cabin air filter was not placed properly and crammed in. The last people to touch the air filters were, of course, Jiffy Lube gainesville when they took them out to try to up-sell new air filters. Im not sure how hard it is to place an air filter back into place, but if you cant do that properly then what else are jiffy lube's techs not doing properly. Terrible. Sometimes fast service isn't worth it in the end. read more

I went back to this shop recently after having boycotted them for over 2 years previously because the "tech" TOLD me I didn't need the oil change I asked for. I asked for synthetic, he said "you don't need that", though my owner's manual specifies it. As usual, they tried to sell me everything including replacing the warp drive...or whatever. Anyway, I came back in January for an oil change because it was too cold out to do it myself, and it was past due. This time, I told them I wanted synthetic, and that was okay by them, but as usual, they tried to sell me services I know I didn't need. I have a K&N cold air intake with reusable filter, which they took off to show me how "dirty" it was (I know it wasn't because I clean and oil it on a regular schedule). I said "no thank you, please put it back". They did the oil change (tried to sell me a manual transmission oil change and differential oil change), and sent me on my way. Today, I thought I'd look to see if the filter needed changing, only to find out that it was never re-attached. So I have been driving over 1,000 miles with no air filtration. I am hoping that my engine or Mass Airflow sensor are not damaged. We will have to see. read more

After I left the place I was waiting for a friend in the IHOP parki g lot nearby when I noticed smoke coming from the hood of my car. When I had someone look at it the coolant was leaking all over the place due to a loose cap. I can in on a Sunday afternoon as they were closing up because I stripped the drain plug on my new car while changing the oil (first time changing it and I swear the last person to change the oil was the Hulk). I had my Honda odyssey's oil changed here on January 11th. We were traveling from out of town and I missed that I needed an oil change before we took off. I only use three quality places here in GA typically. Last Thursday, I took my van in to one of my trusted providers bc of strange engine noises that I've never heard before. They looked it over and said the only thing they noticed was that I had a temporary oil plug in my oil pan and that it was leaking and assured me they don't even use those here. I knew the other places here don't use them either. This jiffy lube had to have done it. My only problem is not one person there that day said a word to me about it and sent me on my way with my three youngest children in tow...knowing I was an out of state customer. I'd be very careful using this location. They appear to not be upfront with us consumers. I thought about calling, but I'd prefer to let the public know. read more

They showed him "our cars filthy air filter" and recommended being replaced for $75/filter, needed 2. My father politely declined, on the way home, purchased the 2 air filters, came home to replace, noticed neither filters were ever removed, instead showed him some other filter from their shop. My wife, daughter and I have used Jiffy Lube on 29 in Gainesville since it first opened. I was happy with the service for the first several years. That's changed over the past year. First, I noticed a puddle of fluid under my SUV about a year ago. My first thought was that I had a serious engine problem, so I took it in to the dealership. Turns out the oil filter hadn't been fully tightened and had come loose and was leaking oil. Next, I bought a newer SUV last fall. I took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and tire rotation in February. The technician asked for the locking lug nut key and, since I hadn't had the vehicle long, I wasn't sure where it was located. She and I walked around to the back and found it beneath the rear hatch cover in a special lug nut key holder next to the spare tire and jack. They changed my oil and rotated my tires, and I left. My wife took my SUV in a week ago while I was out of town. She asked Jiffy Lube to change the oil and rotate the tires. This time, they couldn't find the locking lug nut key. My wife called me and I told her it was in the back in a special holder next to the spare. She checked and it wasn't there. End result was no tire rotation. When I got home, I went through the vehicle thoroughly and could not find the key. I called Jiffy Lube and spoke with a technician who then put the manager on the phone. I explained that the last and only time I had seen the lug nut key was at Jiffy Lube when they rotated my tires and that I'd had no reason to need it again until the vehicle went back to Jiffy Lube and it was gone. He said there were no lost lug nut keys sitting around the store and that they always returned the key after doing a rotation. I explained that I had not touched it since I handed it to his technician in February and that I had gone over every inch of the vehicle trying to find it and it wasn't there. He repeated that they always return the key. I repeated that the last person to touch it was his technician. He repeated that they always return it. From his words and tone, it seemed he was suggesting that I was lying and just trying to stick him with the bill. I didn't spend 25 years in uniform to have someone challenge my integrity over a locking lug nut key. The end result was I spent 2 hours in traffic one evening this week after work to visit the Lexus dealership to buy a new locking lug nut key for $34.50. The other end result is that my years of being a regular Jiffy Lube customer are over. read more

On my way home from this Jiffy Lube after getting the signature oil change my car started pouring white smoke and was leaking oil terribly. I'm not sure how an oil change place can mess up a simple oil change so badly. I had to take my car back which defeats the whole point of going there for quick service. They supposedly fixed my car but it continued to smell of burning oil for several days which is unacceptable since I have a child who must ride in my car daily. I will never return to this Jiffy Lube location again and I certainly don't recommend it. read more

I have been going to Jiffy Lube for years now. They truly are nice, knowledgeable people. The great thing is that they maintain the same staff. Both Kaylynn and Hector are always helpful and friendly and they actually remember me! I like the fact that they suggest things to keep your car running well. If you don't maintain a car, it will not be reliable. I usually get 1 or 2 extra services each time. My car is older and it is still running great. I've been there twice now, and have no complaints other than the teeensy waiting room. Yesterday I was there and it was super busy. The room was packed with guys, and they were watching football (of course). Not much room for me to sit and even read a magazine, and it wasn't warm enough really to step outside for the wait. At least with a little more room I could have not been elbow to elbow with others. The service itself was fine, though they always try to sell me stuff. I knew my husband wouldn't want the engine additives or the other stuff, so I declined. Considering how busy they were, I was out fairly quickly, as they had all lanes open. It's not the closest oil change to me, but they seem clean and friendly. read more
