Staff was very polite, but that's the only positive I have to report. I took my fiancee's vehicle in for an oil change and they proceeded to tell me that her car had the following issues: missing plug where the transmition fluid was and that fluid was everywhere covering the engine (needed to replace the plug and do a fluid flush), a hole in the oil pan (repair that), and that her breaks were barely hanging on and very thin. They wanted a little under $2000 for all of these repairs or replacements. I paid for the oil change and air filter replacement. I took the paperwork they gave me to a garage down the street and they said that everything I was told was a complete lie. Transmition fluid needed changed with mileage but the plug was still there and it was not "all over the engine". Breaks were squeaky but fine. There was nothing wrong with the oil pan. She got the fluid changed today for much less than they wanted. This place sucks out loud. They just want to upcharge everything and take your money. I went to the JL in S. Lakeland on Florida Ave. They said I needed a valve cover gasket. The check engine light was on when their inexperienced mechanic was done. I returned the next day and was told the wrong gasket was used. Came back 2 days later for them to change the gasket, again. This time the the trac light came on, in addition to the check engine light. After numerous return trips of them trying to figure out why these lights were on, they referred me to an auto repair shop not associated with them. There I was told that JL, again, put the wrong gasket on and that I was lucky I didn't blow my engine up. There was a visible gap between the top and bottom valve covers and the gasket was bulging out. This place put the correct gasket on but one of the lights remained on. JL refused to pay any more so I had to pay out of pocket for a new sensor. I have been using JL for many years. After this horrific experience, I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!!!! What made things even worse was the repair shop I was sent to told me they were where JL sent all the vehicles to be fixed that were screwed up by JL. Great advertisement, right?????? Be careful. I have been visiting the Lakeland Jiffy Lube on S Florida Ave with both of my vehicles for 3 years. I took my minivan in for an oil change on 12/19 for my normal oil change, got one other recommended item done, then I was told I needed new brakes. New brake pads and new rotors were estimated at $1191.77. This needed to be done sooner than later as it was a safety issue. I took the estimate, thanked them, had a serious conversation about safety and moved on. I was not experiencing any grinding or anything so my family and I decided it could wait a week or two. I purchased the pads and rotors from the auto parts store for $450 and brought it to my brother at the beginning of the year. Once he got the front pads off, he came in and informed me that whoever told me I needed new brakes was either not knowledgeable or not trustworthy. I still had a little more than HALF of my brake pads remaining. So if a brake pad is worthy of 40,000 miles, half of that would allow me another 20,000 miles.....which should last another year and a half! I was told my safety was in jeopardy....but for $1200, I could sleep easy. If I had paid Jiffy Lube $1200, they would have replaced my brakes and rotors and I would have never known that there was nothing wrong with my brakes!!!! IF they truly cannot tell if the brake pads are at HALF, there is a training issue. IF they can tell the brake pads are at HALF, and I am a female, so I won't know, there is a morality issue. Either way, I feel like everything they have told me is a scam. I just feel that there is enough profit to be had in the things that are actually wrong. I was made to feel like my vehicle was unsafe and this needed to be taken care of right away (he actually said it needed to be done "sooner rather than later"). I sent my 20 year old, college student daughter to the Jiffy Lube in the 3600 block of S Florida Avenue for a quick oil change on her way back to school. I get a call from an older sounding man telling me her front brakes were non-existent and it was dangerous for her to drive. He was very forceful and unprofessional. I had her go to our Company's mechanic, fearful of her to drive based on the Jiffy Lube manager, there was 30% brake pad left on the front and 40% on the rear. Additionally, they installed the wrong oil which triggered a check engine light. So after spending $117 Friday, I got to spend $120 to have it done properly. Their so called Synthetic Oil came out of unmarked used containers i really don't think there's much of a chance I received the very expensive oil I paid for who would use discolored cutout greasy unmarked containers for selling premium oil? They didn't check the fluids except the washer fluid saying its a additional expense and they didn't even check the tire inflation. They did take out my air cleaner filter and leave greasy handprints on it to show it to me. I waited in line for 20 minutes it took another hour to complete the oil change. The shop is filthy and disorganized plus the waiting room was full of people I'm not sure what they were waiting for maybe there's supposed to be mechanical work going on but I didn't see any. I had a coupon for $30 off that did me no good they just added another $30 in fees like oil disposal which is usually included and I'm certain oil disposal doesn't cost them several dollars a quart if anything. I had stopped by to get my radiator and brake fluids done. Thankfully the place wasn't super busy and the crew was very nice. They made short order of the service and I was on my way. The only thing that I wasn't too thrilled about was the fact that they don't honor any Jiffy Lube coupons or specials. They tell you that it's for Jiffy Lube and not so and so's Jiffy Lube. This Jiffy Lube location is better than other locations because of the staff. Al the service tech is genuine and he runs a good store. Like most Jiffy Lubes up selling is common and expected. Just say,"No." At Jiffy Lube one pays for convenience. A conventional oil change costs nearly $50.00 dollars. As high or higher than some dealerships. However, I can't blame them for the high prices. Needed a tail light fixed , I had the light already but come to find out it wasn't the right one so luckily I was still able to get it replaced with his help, they had one to fit my car already there! My 22 yr old college student went to the Jiffy Lube on Florida Ave for a regular oil change and tire roatation. $219 later ( with a $10 coupon) the oil was changed but the tires were not rotated because they told her she didn't need to have that done. They also asked her what kind of oil the car used ..which is ridiculous that they had to ask her. That's what the place is for ...changing oil. She told them that her brakes were squealing and they changed her brake fluid $99 and told her that was the reason her brakes were making noise...AGAIN...stupid! She also said the car was hesitating to start (probably because it had sat for the summer) but they told her the oil change would fix the battery starting the car. Unfortunately I wasn't available for her to call me or it would have just been the oil change. Shame on you for taking advantage of females who come in to get an oil change, upsale them and feed them a crock of **** to get more money out of them. DO NOT go to this place for anything! I have had good experiences in the past with this location, however this day when my daughters oil change was done the supervisor stated I was missing a cabin filter and needed a new air filter. I expect the employees to up sell, however I do not expect someone to straight lie to me. Very bad for business. She stated that the cabin filters are the same price as auto zone because she gets them there herself. She stated they were about $40 and that I really needed one. I told her no thank you. Now, what she doesn't know is that I'm a woman who knows how to change my own oil, brakes and I replace my own filters. I looked up the filters at autozone, the cabin one was only 20. I bought both the air and cabin filter for 40. We were getting our oil changed there only because it was my daughters vehicle and she goes there. I went here for one of those cheap oil change specials. They try to upsell you of course, that was expected. Didn't have to wait long, and was a little amused with their red carpet gag. The problem I found was after looking at the receipt. They claim to have a multi-point inspection. One of the items checked off was windshield washer fluid topped off. My fluid cap was covered with leaves, just as it was prior to my arrival. If they were too lazy (on a slow day) to do this, what else did they lie about? Had an oil change on a Tuesday. That Thursday, my car decides not to start with the oil can icon lit up on the dash. At the oil change, these guys were running down a list of things that were clearly already done trying to get me to do the work again with them. There were several kids "working" on my car and they all had opinions about things they didn't even seem to know basic knowledge of in regards to my car 's condition. Rather rattling on about why you need to "do this and get this done", etc. There is some sort of sales commission set up with am imbalance. I hope these guys get a normal hourly rate because they seem desperate or trained to get some other work out of you. They miraculously cleared my battery on their checklist, which had just been replaced but guess which light also appeared on my dash? You guessed it, the battery light. When I called to tell them my car wouldn't start due to an oil notification (which they allegedly charged me for 48 hours prior), they said " Ok, bring it on by". I'd love to, if it would start (and why would I pay to tow it there if I'd thought they may have actually caused the incident?). Also, after spelling out my 9 digit name and giving my car make and model and the day it was serviced, they could not find me in their computer system: What? There is a silver lining here. The man I spoke to on the phone offered to come by and look at it (to my home, which I found odd). However I was willing to see what he had to offer ... Mike, the manager came and looked at my car in my driveway. He concluded that the issue was not triggered by the oil change. He was friendly and cordial. However, I still did not get the impression that the boys working on my car were very knowledgable. Overall - a sketchy experience, but the Latino man who checked me out was kind and accepted my coupon. I moved to Lakeland recently and got a coupon in the mail for Jiffy Lube oil change. I usually get car service at dealer but thought it would be just an oil change and, what could go wrong? Big mistake! I did the oil change 06/02/22. After that my car started misfiring slightly and then more severely and the check engine light came on. I took it back on 06/06/22 and asked them to check to see if something was touched or disconnected when they performed their service checks. They swore up and down that it could not have been anything they did. Finally we got their mechanic, Mike to hook up their diagnostic computer and it revealed a problem in the vacuum lines. He tightened something and I took it for a drive. Came back and situation was so bad, the car would die as soon as started and I had to call a tow truck. They wanted to change my battery but this was not the problem and I would have been out a few hundred dollars more if I went along with what they were telling me. Mike was kind enough to keep checking and he found that when they were checking the engine air filter, they removed the plug for a vacuum sensor and did not push it back in place well to plug it in properly. This seemed to be the cause and I canceled the tow truck. I don't believe it was done intentionally but they use employees very young who have very little experience and lack of knowledge of what they are doing and who are not properly supervised or trained. They did not accept that this was something they caused and don't know if Mike convinced them of this. Bottom line is don't get any work done there, even if you think it is minor because they can turn it into something very major very quickly and you could be out of hundreds of dollars in repairs. read more

Stopped off here at 10am for an oil change. There were 4 cars in front of me, and they told me it would be a 2 hour wait! Seriously, I kid you not. First off, why does it take 2 hours to take care of 4 cars, with 3 lines open. So, considering I don't have all day to get my oil changed, I decided to go to Take Five Oil change. They got me in and out in 15 minutes. Gave me a 25% military discount. Cleaned my windows and gave me a cold bottle of water. They also didn't nag me about buying a bunch of crap i didn't need. On my way home we passed up jiffy lube. They were completely empty! lol if there was a good example of how not to leave your customers satisfied but also utterly shove away the potential to ever create a loyal customer; well dang, Jiffy lube hit the nail on the head there. I arrived at Jiffy Lube in a 2008 Toyota Sienna. The employee came out and immediately told me Toyota recommends synthetic oil. I explained conventional oil would be just fine. He then asked how many miles I have. I told him 116,000 and he explained I should get the high mileage oil, which happens to be about $20 more. I again said conventional oil will be fine. He then offered a system flush to get the sludge out, and he explained it's not good to just change the oil and leave all the sludge. Apparently now oil changes don't actually do much good without an up-sell. I again said just a conventional oil change is all I wanted. He said ok and showed me to the waiting area. The job took about 30 minutes. Near the end, another person showed me my cabin and engine air filters and said I should replace the engine filter. Truthfully, it's at a point where replacing it would be reasonable, but it's not bad. Then the employee explained the various other services the Sienna needs, such as an AC system service, radiator service, etc. All in all, they probably offered another $700 in services. They did the oil change, and I have no problems with the basic oil change. Just be prepared for them to offer many more services for lots of extra money. read more

When I pulled up to Jiffy Lube, I was immediately greeted by a female automotive technician (fist pump because I am a female and have never seen a woman outside of the office or from behind the counter at any place that has to do with vehicle service). I filled out a brief form and was shown my options of service (I was there for a high mileage oil & filter change -$69.99) and the PRICE (no surprises). I was escorted to the waiting area. They didn't try to push any sales or services on me. Just advised me on some issues and then moved on after I politely declined. They opened doors for me and rolled out a red carpet (literally).
