Lately there's been a change. Recently had the 2 front wheel speed sensors replaced and was very disappointed that the bill was over $500. In my neighborhood I'm prohibited from doing car repairs myself but, were I able, I would have done this job for less than $100 . (ATE sensors for $30 / each at FCP Euro). I expected to be charged maybe $250 to $300. After a previous oil change, I had to return to the shop, next day, because oil was leaking onto my carport driveway. Drain plug wasn't fully tightened. I'm going to find a new shop.

We had an overheating auto while on vacation at Surfside Beach and a scheduled departure the following day. I limped into the Car Doc's place with a temperature gauge that was about to fly off the dashboard, a wife and 2 year old in the car. They were the nicest folks imaginable and immediately set to taking a look at my car issues. They not only diagnosed and repaired my faulty thermostat in record time, they did it for parts and 1 & 1/2 hours of labor. And this was on a not-easy-to-work-on Cadillac DTS engine. Just getting to the engine requires a half hour as does reassembling everything. They took me and my family down the road to where we were staying, and came back to pick us up when the repair was done. Honestly I don't think a dealership's "concierge service" could possibly have been any better. We pulled into the Car Doc completely stressed out with a car that was massively overheating and short timeline to get anything done, and walked out a couple of hours later with the peace of mind that the car was fixed. I've dealt with some mechanics that would have done the same thing, but too many that wouldn't have. The cost was absolutely minimal, and we drove home would perfectly functioning cooling system in some serious heat. Thanks to the good folks at the Car Doc for your much-needed help in a tight situation. I cannot thank you enough!
