I had an oil change at the Plainfield Rt 59 location. The mechanic did a sloppy job of replacing the air filter, damaging a piece of it which resulted in fuel/air ratio problems and causing my engine light to turn on/off repeatedly. I had to pay another shop $250 for engine diagnostics and a new filter because of poor work. This is basic maintenance. DON'T GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. read more

One of the workers proceeded to send the person who was behind me inside and cut in front of me for the middle bay. When I called a worker over to ask why that person was put in front of me they just laughed and said the worker who did that was just stupid and gave a half hearted apology. Had been using this location for over 10 years. Never again. First, the aggressive up selling has gotten ridiculous. They view every customer not as a customer, but as a mark. I don't need a 21 year old jobber lecturing me about manufacturer recommended whatever. The volume and content of the mind numbing daytime television program is like something out of A Clockwork Orange. I'm surprised they don't pin my eyelids open. But lastly, I asked for regular oil, and the "technician" still attempted to charge me for full synthetic, which is almost twice as much. And 68 dollars for a simple 15 minute oil change is outrageous anyway. It was 20 bucks maybe 10-15 years ago. The larger problem is this: How many people has Jiffy Lube gotten away with overcharging? Probably thousands. Now I have to worry that since I pointed out the price "accident", that some kind of retaliation isn't carried out against my vehicle. And in case anyone with integrity from Jiffy Scam reads this, my invoice number is 430831. Perhaps you can view the price correction that was made in your system. Too expensive for what you get. Says they perform services like check air in tires, clean windows, check lights, and vacuum, but none were completed. The employees looked like they were hanging out chatting with each other while one actually did the oil change. Asked if my tire pressure was checked and told yes. Then the guy went out and asked and came back in and said no. They did pull it back in and air the tires, but interesting that I had to ask if they did something that was supposed to be part of the service. Anyway, the place is getting kind of expensive for oil changes. Impossible to get in at the dealer. So the mgr says your total is blah blah. I offer coupons , he wont look at any of them, and says I cant take them. I say why not? He says cause we're corporate owned here. I says never heard that line. So I look in my email and find another one and he wont look and says Ill give you .$8 off thats the std one. I said this one is for $10.50 and its for your store. He says I cant take it, the code wont work. I say you need to take your fingers and punch the keys and enter it. It will work. He says Ill give you $10 since youre so obsessed about coupons. Went in to get a simple oil change. They we're taking forever and people that came in after me were finished before me. Later the manager comes out and says the threads where my oil filter goes are stripped that they couldn't put more oil or a filter in my car. Then tried to blame whoever changed my oil last. I was left standing there with no way to leave with my car since it had no filter or oil in it. I had to call the owner to get them to actually do it. Then they were trying to get me for a whole new oil filter housing unit. long story short I took it to Honda and they said they never seen anything like it. that it's pretty hard to strip the threads and they could just take the threading out and put a new one in that I didn't need the whole housimf unit and they put a new filter and oil in for me at no extra cost. I'm still waiting on corporate to get back to me because instead of a simple oil change I ended up with two maintenance bills because Honda had to fix their mess up. The manager is the worst by the way too. thinks he knows it all and didn't like my tone after my car is just sitting with no filter or oil and me not able to drive it out of there. then they were laughing and talking because I was upset. very unprofessional read more

Waited for a long time for oil change, normal on a busy Saturday. Low air for tire light was on before and after oil change. They said they put air in it, light will go off after I drive around. Lie, my light goes off when the tire is filled. Drove around, light stays on won't borrow tire gauge to prove they didn't fill. Lady at counter was short, but not rude. Had to wait in line again to get air put in. Also said my coolant was low and offered to top it off for $6 but receipt says it was full? Went in for an oil change and got charged for the more expensive synthetic oil after they used that instead of the regular oil I always have them use. I told the manager I never asked for the upgrade and that I wanted to be reimbursed. He said you will get the difference on your next oil change. Next oil change I am told we can give you your Uber fleet discount. But I ALWAYS get my Uber discount. How is that getting my money back for YOUR mistake? His response: I don't know. They had my vehicle three times and I ended up with a horrible screeching noise every time I braked. After more than a month, I have not received a refund. Brought by VW here ONCE and it was probably the biggest mistake of my life. Everything went fine until i drive off and my engine light starts flashing with reduced power and a shaking engine. I immediately turn around and ask what the heck they did to mess up my car this bad and they wouldn't fess up to anything. It was about 2 days later when i found they used the wrong filter and oil causing the it to have less than the necessary oil pressures, leading to possible damage of the internals... after numerous phone calls i finally was able to talk to the franchise owner and then he basically told me to "fuck off". Funny enough my friend was bringing his Honda here and i told him numerous times not to bring it here he still did it anyways because in his words "how do you fuck up and oil change".... Literally the next day he started leaking oil from his drain plug, we initially thought it was loose but after trying to tighten it we found THE WHOLE OIL PAN ($600) WAS STRIPPED because they use impact guns to tighten the drain plugs... I cannot stress enough to just invest $100 in some tools and do your own oil change. Never go to a jiffy lube. read more

Went in to get my regular oil change 400 miles before the car was due. They decide to change it and claimed I had no oil in the reservoir, I had them change it then they came back to me saying there was a huge leak in the reservoir when it was driving perfectly fine before I went in. As soon as I drive the car it starts acting up! The car literally had zero problems and I wanted a oil change for it to result in more damages?! It does not make sense. It seems as if every time I bring my car into this shop they mess it up even more. This jiffy lube is a SCAM. Do not go to them they will damage your car so you have to comeback and pay them a hefty amount for a fix to a problem they originally have damaged. Unfair world we live in. Jiffy Lube on 59 is a SCAM. Do not go here. Now I have to spend thousands on a car that never had a problem to begin with. Absolutely hate this place. read more

Then one of the guis told use they didn't have the fluid. Then another guy said they did have it but was unable to do it still. They are some lazy people. read more

Claudia the unfriendly-unhelpful "manager" refuses to take said coupon...never dealt with her before however very rude. Laziest location I've ever been to. I was there maybe 10 minutes. Which is nice, but doesn't make me feel like they actually checked anything. They had a lot of workers there, but no customers. So they could've taken their time. On my receipt it said they washed the Windows and vacuumed. They very much DID NOT. So who knows what else they skipped. Not worth it for a $40 oil change. DO NOT GO FOR ANY SERVICE! went in for an oil change and got a basic oil change. I noticed oil spots on my drive way about a month or 2 later and I got concerned. I had only about a month left before another oil change so I waited as the drip wasn't to bad. So I went to my old mechanic and I advised them I had gotten the oil changed at the jiffy lube and to report any damage. It turns out that they had tightened the oil filter housing beyond reason and had 3 mechanics all hanging on the breaker bar trying to get it off. He had also informed me that it was WAY to right from either a impact drill or a body building leaning on it. As a result of their careless actions (jiffy lube) for tightening it that right they had cracked my housing for my filter and I was advised by my mechanic that if it was metal, they would of cracked my engine block, totaling my car. I had gone back after words to inform them that they had done damage to my car, I brought proof of damage and the bill I was charged for a new housing. The manager denied all accountability and kept on insisting that if it was a drop why didn't I come back? Well to answer that I didn't come back because if you can't do it right the first time, why would you be able to do it the first time. The manager was absolutely no help, and insisted they didn't use a impact drill and showed me a knock off version of the oil filter housing socket, I filed a claim and still have yet to hear back and it's been a few weeks. The lack of care and responsibility of these so called professionals(let me remind you it's mostly high school kids) has cost me a new oil filter housing and more than enough time and effort to get to the bottom. I WOULD STAY AWAY, THE MANAGER REFUSED TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY AND WAS ANOYED WITH MY REQUEST FOR THEM TO COVER THE DAMAGE THEY DID. Slowest place I have ever been. How long does it take to do an oil change? Maybe fifteen minutes. Had 2 cars in front of me took over an hour and a half when they said 30 minutes. My positive experience with this Jiffy Lube location started with a very negative experience getting my oil changed at Havoline in Lyons, IL. After getting my oil changed in the morning at the latter location, I drove 24mi to my workplace in Plainfield. On my way, there was smoke from burning oil coming up through the vents inside my car. Fast forward to the end of my shift at 7pm; I checked the dipstick for my engine oil and it was dry. It was 7:15 and 17 degrees outside and I was stranded 24mi away from home. I searched for oil change services in the area and this was the nearest one that was open. I called them at 7:30 (they close at 8) and talked to the manager (I believe his name was Tony) and explained my situation. By his reaction, I knew that what I suspected to be a dire situation truly was. He told me to come in and they would check it out. When I arrived one of the mechanics came up right as I stepped out of my car and stood and stared at the smoke coming from underneath the hood of my car. I gave him my keys and he told me so have a seat inside. I saw some of the other mechanics lift the hood of my car and pick up a flashlight. Then, one of them came to the door of the service bay and said "You're gonna want to come and take some pictures." They pointed to the oil filter gasket that was sitting on the engine bay and stated that was likely the problem; the mechanic at Havoline had not replaced the gasket and therefore the oil was leaking. They pulled out the filter and showed me that there was no gasket on it. They asked me what I wanted them to do and I told them to do whatever they needed to to fix it. They cleaned off all the oil that had leaked and burned everywhere. I even saw one of the mechanics top off my windshield fluid - which is something that the paperwork from Havoline stated they had already done, but clearly didn't. They told me that if I had all the photos I needed, I could go back and have a seat inside. Two of the mechanics typed up a report stating that there was an oil leak, the gasket was sitting on the engine bay, etc. so that I could have something to bring back to Havoline. They also took down all of my information so that, too would appear on the report/receipt. They printed it out and gave it to me and then said "You're all set." and started to walk back to the service bay. I said "So...there's no charge?" They shook their heads and said "No you're good, have a good night." I thanked them and told them they were the best. The mechanics at this Jiffy Lube location have converted me to being a Jiffy Lube customer. I truly appreciate the way they handled this situation. They went above and beyond to help me and fix a problem they didn't cause, but was caused by a competitor...and they did it for free. Suffice it to say, I'm impressed. read more

I really like Jiffy Lube as a company and have been visiting this location for the past several years. I am almost always very satisfied by their service. They are very nice and very good at what they do. I am usually in and out within 15 minutes, which is why i choose them consistently. They have a deal if you return within 3000 miles, it only cost $19.99 for an oil change. This is an amazing deal that i try to take advantage of every time. Only complaint I have is that they do not always turn my automatic lights back on after service. That being said, I do not take my car any place else for an oil change. They handle my car with care and they do not try to sell me anything unnecessary. They are honest people who provide a great service. read more

This location has earned my trust and business. I brought my car here for an oil change in late 2015. One of the new employees pushed my hood prop too far into the hole and they could not get it back out. My hood got bent and dented in the process of them trying. I could see this going on through the window, then one of the guys came in explained the situation and said they would have cut the hood prop off to close the hood. He told me that he would take care of all damages. He had a new hood made and installed on my car, it did take awhile, due to things out of his control. However, he always stayed in contact with me giving updates on the progress. He then ordered the new hood prop and I had that installed this week. Granted it took some time to get all corrected, but the service and follow up was fantastic. I will continue to use this location without reservation! read more

Tony, the MGR at this jiffy lube I'm sure is a very poor representation of the company. He was very rude and unprofessional. It is apparent that he is not qualified to run a business establishment as he is unable to properly manage the day to day business. I witnessed him not acknowledge every customer including myself that came in for service. When he decided to open his mouth to address the customers, he asked us if we were paying cash or charge. Another customer stated that he is paying cash, and Tony proceeded to tell him that he has no change. The gentlemen suggested that perhaps he make a bank run or find an alternative solution because that was all he had. Tony said well I don't know what to tell you. I can't help you. The customer was appalled as he was very rude. He asked to speak to the MGR. Tony said I am the mgr, and I'm not going to argue with you about this. He then told the customer he can go down the street to Midas. The gentleman left upset. I proceeded to witness 4 more cash paying customer get refused service as well. Fantastic place my wife purchased a used vehicle from dealership (2010 Hyundai Tucson) and after about a week of owning it my driveway started to notice oil spots on it and progressively started getting worse. My wife took it back to dealership where they wouldn't even look at it and instead put some sort of dye and told us to come back in 2 weeks after so "we" can see where it's coming from! I told my wife to take it to jiffy lube because I work so much and pay for an oil change....although I still had brand new oil in it. Pulled into bay and attendant noticed the issue right away. Said it was filter tightened it and said no charge...jiffy lube gets a bad wrap but when you got employees like this that strive for customer satisfaction over pushing a sale. They have my business and I will bring all 3 of my vehicles in here to be serviced for oil changes as needed. We just moved to the area from oak lawn and any other place would have tried selling my wife a air filter pcv valve trans flush and Ac recharge for a leaking oil filter!
