I've been a long time customer here, brought several cars in, and even referred friends because the service was fast and convenient. The good reviews on that are fair, which is why I stayed loyal. But the reviews about scams are true too. In the past year, I've noticed reviews regarding scams disappearing, including one that said the staff shows customers dirty air filters to pressure them into buying replacements, even though the customer's filter looks different when they check it themselves. Based on my experiences and of others, this place targets people they think don't know much about cars. My family owns an auto shop in the South Bay, and I've been taught how to do most of my own maintenance, but I come here because it's right next to my house. When I came in the first time for an oil change, they showed me a dirty cabin air filter that looked completely different from the brand I had just installed myself weeks prior. I ignored it at first, but it didn't sit right. Another pattern I've noticed: every single time I get an oil change here, my car's system alerts me that the tire pressure is low. The same thing happened to my mom's car after she went here. I checked both cars with a tire pressure gauge, and every time, the pressure was lower than before the oil change. A few days after the last time this happened, I went back and asked them to fill up my tires...nothing else. While I was in the lobby, they tried to ring me up for an oil change! I told them I only needed air in my tires. They gave me a look like I didn't know what I was talking about and must been too stupid to fill up my own tires. Then told me "it was about time" and that I'd "be safer". I said no, because why would it be about time for another oil change if I had one last week? Let me guess my cabin air filter is filthy... Anyways, after they "finished," the low tire pressure light was still on, even after recalibrating, and the pressure reading hadn't changed at all. There was also a review mentioning that the oil seems to wear out faster after coming here compared to other shops. That actually makes sense because when your tire pressure is low, your engine has to work harder, which causes more resistance and makes the oil break down quicker. It feels like this place is intentionally setting people up for more problems so they come back for unnecessary services. When I sent my mom's car in about the low tire pressure, they said her sensor was broken. They said the same thing about my car's recalibration system and my friend's car too. So I decided to ask my boyfriend to take the same cars in, and the "broken" sensors are suddenly fixed and the tires are fully inflated. This whole situation really frustrates me. I've supported this shop for years, but it's clear they take advantage of people who they assume won't notice the small things. It's not just shady, it's manipulative. And judging by how many negative reviews have mysteriously disappeared, they're trying hard to hide it. Don't be fooled by their quick service!!! read more

I took my new company Nissan truck there for an oil change and tire rotation. They performed the oil change and tire rotation, but also changed the windshield wipers and the interior cabin air filter. I noticed this on the bill which is paid for by a third-party company. I told them the wipers did not need to be changed as they were still brand new, and the same thing with the air filter for the cabin. I was told the windshield wipers were worn and the manufacturer suggested replacement. I told him the manufacture, would never suggest anything as ridiculous as that, and he walked out of the office and back into the garage. I was charged $59.98 for each windshield wiper. The cabin air filter what's $59.99. I will never take my company vehicle there again, and I will notify the company to not allow any other vehicles to go to this franchise The quality inspection performed by S. Tinoco Palacios. This place doesn't honor all Jiffylube coupons (especially codes on the web). There was a Jiffylube oil change coupon for $26.99 at another location that their manager honored after inquiring further about this inconsistency and confusion. More importantly, they upsell you on everything and mark up the pricing even on air filters by over 200%. I can get an air filter for $9 instead of $20 from them with do it yourself videos to change it. My maintenance will handle my transition, brakes, fluids, tire changes, etc. What puzzles me is how my oil change was done within 5 minutes after they cancelled my order. Thus, I'll check if it was done right since one review showed that they did everything wrong! read more

I went to Jiffy Lube for oil change drove away and skip plate came off. I took it back and they said they would not replace the skid plate. It was all tore up. They said because there's a couple screws missing before I bought the car in the last time I had to oil changed 8000 miles ago which Jiffy Lube changed the oil back then at another store. so why did you skip they come off after they change my oil they refuse to pay for the skid plate after I talk to the manager don't ever do business with these people all they want is your money. As a matter fact, Jiffy Lube, the only one who's ever change my oil on this vehicle. . So if any screws are missing prior to the last oil change, it would be on them The manager said to talk to the upper manager, but he already talk to. The manager said they were not replace it. These mfers tried to scam me. They provided a free battery test, which is nice, but then they told me a I needed a new battery urgently. I almost believed them, because my battery is in fact 4+ years old, but I went elsewhere to get a second opinion, and was informed that my battery was actually testing like a brand new battery. I find it very difficult to believe that this was an innocent mistake on the part of Jiffy Lube. It's been over a year and my battery is still testing like a brand new battery. I know true car enthusiasts don't typically take their cars to a Jiffy Lube for any kind of service, but when you want that last minute oil change and don't mind that it is a franchise of sorts, this specific JL is where you need to go. For living in Pittsburg, there's a reason I come out here just for an oil change, and that has everything to do with their service. For being a oil changer chain, these guys are truly some of the most caring and friendly guys I've met. Yesterday, I decided to turn into their driveway, not knowing that they were closed. One gentleman came up to the window and said that they were closed but that the difference between them and other car services was that they'd never turn someone away, AND THEY DIDN'T! When you come at closing time and don't get any type of attitude or rude look, you know you're in the right place. Because of COVID, they are essentially a drive thru oil changers, which I love! Aside from their service, they are all around friendly and happy people. They don't make you nervous for what mysterious problems may be found either, so it's always a quick and enjoyable experience. Be aware! Prices posted are not same as what they end up charging. Even after calling and confirming if they accept coupons, when I got there they changed the value of coupons, they also did not notify me that the lowest option for oil type was not available ( pump or pipe is broken). They made me go through all the process first before and even asked me what type of oil grade would you like, when I said the lowest grade then they disclosed that it was not available. read more

Dear Owner of This Jiffy Lube, Hubby and I have been coming to the location for many years due to the professionalism, great service and low cost. Unfortunately, that has all come to an end as of January 13. We pulled up to this Jiffy Lube like we have a hundred times. The guys take the keys and tell us to wait inside where we thought they would come in and ask us what service we wanted, but that didn't happen. What happened was us watching through the window while the boys drive the truck into the bay and start tearing apart our engine! Seriously! The Manager grabbed a huge screwdriver and was trying to pry off the screwed-on, aftermarket air cleaner. My husband banged on the window and yelled at him to stop. That's when the manager started screaming at as, yelling that we shouldn't bang on his window. Huh? We told them to just pull the truck through and we'd go. Instead, the Manager backed the truck out into the entrance and parked it in the driveway, forcing us to back it out into the busy rush hour El Camino traffic. Yup, you read that right. Bring back the old crew that we knew and loved for years and send this man to work someplace else where his charming personality will not interfere with the job he is supposed to be performing. This has nothing to do with the employees, they were great. However, management needs to give the employees what they need. Was one of the first in line when they opened and it took over an hour, because they were short staff. In addition, was not able to get the full service, because they needed to get the cars out. They were understanding and offered a discount. If not enough employees available to work, then management needs to step up and be there to work. read more

I wanted to go with my husband to his normal Jiffy Lube oil change. I usually go to my mechanic to get mine done, and it's no where near as fast as this place. But, I pay about half in cost. So it's a 50/50 kind of deal. What I did liked about Jiffy Lube was their customer service. The guys who work there are so sweet. They make everyone feel comfortable. While sitting in the waiting room, you can watch the Jiffy boys work on you car through the window. There is a single employee dedicated to washing your car windows. What??? They move fast here. I was the first in line and I just wanted a fluid top off, but we discovered I needed an oil change. My car had decided to start eating oil since my last oil change. So, there you go. A month ago, this JL location changed the oil in my '17 Honda Civic. Last week, while driving on the freeway, I heard weird scrapping sounds when I'd pass over a bump in the road. I stopped to check under the car, and discovered that the steel rock guard under the engine had lost most of the bolts attaching it to the under frame and it was dragging on high points in the road. Because the front was the low point, it could have caught on a pavement edge and crumpled up under the engine. Potentially dangerous. After I got back into town, I took the car back to JL to let them know they'd forgotten to reattach the rock guard after they changed the oil. The manager quickly took my car into their garage and worked to reattach the rock guard. He took pictures of his repair and shared them with me to reassure that his work was correct this go-around. So here's my view: (1) Good job manager for working to fix the botched oil change. (2) Points off because he did not offer to compensate me for the scratches on the under tray and accident risk. That's likely the policy of JL corporate, so not his fault. Nevertheless, not the best customer satisfaction policy. (3) He said he hoped I would come back in the future. That was more a plea than an apology - it didn't go over well. Would I go back? Maybe, but I would certainly check their work before I left their shop next time. If I wasn't already knowledgeable about cars, I'd never go back, ever. read more

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! On 6/23/2017, I brought my 1998 Toyota 4 Runner in for service. Since that time I have discovered that a new oil leak in my driveway was a result of a finger-tight oil drain plug and a loose oil filter that was ready to fall off. Luckily for this shop, I didn't drop all of my oil and lose an engine. Don't bring your vehicle here!!! You'll be sorry like me you did... I'm a strong believer that everyone makes mistakes. What makes a good customer service, is how you treat customer after and handle the problem once it happens. My wife brought her Mazda Tribute into this shop back in June to get an oil change. After a couple weeks, I noticed there was oil stains on the driveway. I initially didn't think anything of it, nothing this was a 12 year car and it just had the service; could have been residue oil or something. But the problem was still there after a couple months. I check under the car and it looked like the oil drain plug was loose. I tried tightening it and it just spun. Turns out i could pull it out the plug with my bare hands! That's not good. I called Jiffy Lube and were very apologetic and said to bring it in. Keep in mind, this is the first time we've brought our cars to this Jiffy Lube, but have been bringing them to the one in Newark for years. When i brought the car in, I worked with JP. He was extremely professional and even though the shop had minor issues due a downed compressor, he still insisted on trying to diagnose the problem and hope to get a solution. And he did! He went out of his way to get the problem resolved. Changed the oil plug, oil filter and topped off the oil, free of charge. the entire time, he was very nice, professional, friendly all while still apologizing for the inconvenience. He is the reason I am rating it 5 stars. As said, everyone makes mistakes, even companies. How they handle it is what matters. Jiffy Lube and especially JP did a fantastic job of this. Went in for an oil change and after I left I noticed my glove compartment was broken. I have no idea how they could have done this, but it wasn't broken when I got there. They told me they vacuumed the inside of the car and washed the windows but did not give me the courtesy of letting me know they broke something. Will not be going back. read more
