This particular Jiffy Lube is a notch above the rest! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their jobs, especially about the smog testing process. These guys make customer service a priority, and I am yet to be disappointed in their services. I have now had several oil changes and smog tests done here and I will always try to come back to these guys. They also have really cold water inside to sip on while you wait! The only thing to remember is that because these guys are so good, sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, so just plan head and maybe go in the morning. read more

For three years now I have taken my car to this Jiffy Lube on Prater, Sparks, NV. The manager - Josh and his team are true professional and always go above and beyond caring for my car. When I leave there I am certain all the fluids are checked and filled. They are very good about making recommendations and letting me know if they see something out of the ordinary. Had a really great experience at this location. Josh called me in and said the oil looked clean and full and I didn't need a change. I thanked him for his honesty and explained that this was not my car and that the owner did not drive much but the oil was old and had them change it anyway. The guy who did my smog here told me I'd fail for a missing gas cap, and to run around the corner to buy one and come back so he could pass me. I left my car there hooked up to the machine, walked 20 yards to oreilly to buy a gas cap, and came back. He told me he had already failed me on my smog, even though I now had the gas cap and everything else passed. That means I had to go to the DMV to register now since he failed me and then signed off that I passed later. An hour later I'm still at the DMV, it'll be another hour or so before my number comes up so I can pay my registration which should've taken about 2 minutes had he just done what he said he'd do. My teenage daughter went to have her oil changed there after purchasing a groupon. They convinced her she needed a air filter change, which was probably accurate and estimated her a cost of about $15.00 then charged her $26.99. On what planet does an air filter cost $26.99! So the total cost of this oil change minus the groupon was $34.24, way to take advantage of a young lady. Such a rip off! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. read more

I've been taking my car here for 2 years. Joshua and the other guys recognize me and my car and I rarely see a new face! I love that about this jiffy lube location because I know they know my car well! I just sold my car for higher than kbb value because it's in immaculate condition and I partially credit this jiffy lube for always keeping me informed on my cars needs. They're honest and will tell me, you'll eventually need such and such work but it's not imperative to get it now, we'll keep our eye on it for you. No hard selling! No crazy prices! Every time we go to this location they are awesome but this time customer service was excellent. Ryan who was our cashier was so informative, did not hurry me and was very kind and professional. I was actually on the phone twice when he came out to get me which was probably my frustrating for him but he never showed any kind of irritation. There was no cussing or rude talk while I was waiting like I've seen at some places either. They went above and beyond with all they did. I took my Tacoma here yesterday for an oil change. Well to my surprise I was charged more for the first time ever here. The guy told me my truck takes extra oil and they had to charge me $8 more. Then when I left my service light was still on so I took it right to Toyota to have them take a look at it. Well for 1 they were shocked that i was charged for more oil (scam). Also Toyota was able to shut off the service light on my dash which took a few minutes. No wonder when I left Jiffy Lube the guy said to me with a laughing smile (see you tomorrow). Wow lesson learned. Also time for me to find a new place to go for an oil change. Not this place. read more

Came here for a smog check at 11:00am on a Sunday. They said the smog technician wouldn't be in until 2:00pm (they close at 4:00pm). I left and returned promptly at 2:10pm. The smog technician was not there but I was informed that he was on his way and it would be a 20-30min wait. 38 minutes later the smog technician arrived and he thankfully quickly got to work and got me out of there as well as giving me a discount. I was originally disappointed in having to wait the extra 38 minutes after being told a specific time, but life is full of disappointments right? Went there on two separate occasions for a smog check. The first time they said they were having trouble on a car they were working on and didn't have time for the smog check but would give us a discount if we came back. The second time we went we were told it would be 5-10 minutes. After waiting for 15 minutes we asked how much longer it would be I was told that yet again they had a car that they were having a difficult time working on and did not know how much longer it would be. Another employee, a rather rude young hispanic adolescent, chimed in and stated that other cars were ahead of us and they had "more expensive" services so we had to wait! So if you want a smog check or even an oil change be aware that this location does not value your time or the service you need if someone else will be spending more money! And two different times they were having difficulty with repairs! It seems that they really should stick to simple oil changes and leave the mechanic work for an actual shop! read more

I took my Ford Mustang here and I was not impressed. Usually I go to the one in Spanish Springs but I thought I'd switch it up. The guys were really nice however a couple things happened. First, they said they cleaned my windows but my windows looked exactly the same once I got into the sunlight. There were streaks left on the window. Second, they put a light bulb in my trunk brake light. So they had to open my trunk to get to it and when they finished they locked my keys in my trunk. Luckily I was able to get it out. I'm definitely sticking with the jiffy lube in Spanish springs. read more

Well I choose this location because it is on my way home, so it's more of a convenience than anything. When I arrived there was 1 car in bay. I needed smog so pulled up in front of smog area. Was seated inside, waiting, waiting and waiting. I kept telling myself should of went elsewhere, a smog takes less than 10 minutes, obviously longer here. Watched as more cars arrived and were pulled into bays. Decided to go out and look to see if anyone outside to smog my vehicle. I have been waiting now 30 minutes. No one to be found. No one to even let me know they were aware I have been waiting so long. Yes, lesson learned, even if they are not busy you will unfortunately wait longer than necessary. Thankfully only need smog once a year and oil change every 7500 miles. Will sacrifice location for quicker service in the future. read more

If ZERO STARS were an option-this JLube would be on the top of the list!!! I am a new resident in the area and sadly left my trusted mechanic back in Orange County; hence my options was the local service provider-JLube on Prater way. The young lady working the front is extremely polite and thorough, HOWEVER the owner STEVEN KNOX a different story. I am a female and do not know much about vehicles and for some reason I was under the impression I needed synthetic oil on my 2006 Toyota.....which I requested upon arrival. As the young lady is running through the price...I was like hold up....let me verify this with my mechanic. I called my mechanic and he said not to use synthetic oil or the brand PENZOIL due to the nature of my engine and the reaction caused by PENZOIL OIL. Well obviously Jiffy LUbe gets a kick back from using only PENZOIL brand because as soon as I requested a different brand of oil the owner went balistic on me-literally. He starts yelling at me telling me that my mechanic needs to go back to school...he obviously does not know about cars! etc etc. Mind you all, my mechanic works for the toyotaa dealear as the mechanic!! I had no choice to walk out since he had already drained the oil.....forcing my now to use the PENZOIL oil and pay for the lousy service. First time at a JL and WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! Only using one brand of oil and claiming that is the best for every vehicle is an ignorant and pathetic response from by the owner Knox. This owner is a joke! Fantastic customer service! I pulled in 7 min after they closed for a smog. Josh stayed almost 40 min after to help me out, then when I didn't smog he told me what I needed to do and to come back in the morning. When I showed back up he greeted us with a smile and wave! I love jiffy lube I've been going for years, its always a speedy process. The employees are extremely polite, and informative. The oil change is done right every time. I've gone to a couple different oil change places none of them are as quick, and efficient as jiffy lube. They even wash my windows and vacuum my floors which makes it really easy on me to get most of my errands done in one place. read more

I was going to get my vehicle done here but decided not too. I saw a worker dressed in a beer outfit not so funny. I also have seen them be hostile with other businesses around such as the tire and lube shops around thier reno vulcanizing and especially alpha tire.so I decided to take my vehicle to reno vulcanizing they were way more professional than the other two shops.
