Oil change, wouldn't use any jiffy lube anywhere after my recent encounter of having my oil changed, I have been coming to the Tumwater Jiffy Lube on capitol Blvd for about a year. Thought great service, and returned a few times. Couple days ago as jiffy lube is changing my oil a tech gets in tells me the back brakes are metal to metal and the front are well worn and for 1229.00 they.could do that job that, then he said well we.could do half today you could come back later. Hmm I said no Thanks. Went to my tire dealer today to rotate tires and chexk out the brakes and guess what folks. The brakes do not need replaced and are not even close to needing changed. So there ya go, don't use Jiffy Lube!! read more

Great service, but they don't post prices and the upsell is crazy. I came in for an oil change which I thought would be maybe $100 at the most. I walked away with a bill of about $175. Damn! I just realized I paid almost $200 for ONE!!! oil change. What was I thinking!?! Plus they recommended other services that would have tacked on $600 if I'd said yes, even though my last service was a 100K mi service at the dealer and they didn't think I needed those services. The lack of posted prices tells me that they're gonna blindside you with all those other charges, so I'm going to go elsewhere. read more

This is by far the best JL location I've been to in ages. I get my oil changed like clockwork but happened to be driving by the Tumwater location and noticed there wasn't a line so decided to give them a try. Nobody has checked my lights in probably a year, and these guys were on it. I've had a regular headlight out for a long time and have been told by two different locations that they couldn't access it. Evan heard that and accepted the challenge...in the same time as it took for my oil to be changed, he had the bulb out and a new one put in! They were all so friendly, helpful and efficient I cannot recommend them any more. I will be frequenting this location on a regular basis now...thank you Jared and Evan!!! read more

I got my front breaks and rotors done here about two weeks ago...so I thought. I went back there last week when my car wouldn't stop shaking. They said everything looked fine. My vehicle kept shaking. Went to Les Schwab they said my rotors have definitely not been changed.... This is not the Jiffy lube location where I usually go but, I was passing by and thought I'd get the oil topped off in my car. They did the work and I drove home I left home the next day, for work and left the car at home. It was used a couple of times while I was gone and smoke was pouring out from under the hood. When A week later, when I returned, I popped open the hood and the engine oil cap was sitting on top of the radiator! I took it the the Jiffy lube where I usually go and cleaned things up for me. My partner and I came in to get our Toyota Warrior Winnebego serviced. We are both mechanically inclined and noticing some transmission challenges. We don't really want to deal with transmission work ourselves so we thought we might try getting it serviced hoping our possible transmission "O/D off" error code would go away with a transmission service. All the staff were incredibly helpful. Mike talked with us directly, his knowledge, customer service, and kindness were above and beyond. He listened to exactly what we needed and was honest that he didn't think that would be the best service for us when he easily could have taken our money. I'm honestly shocked by the price of an oil change here. I normally go to the Honda dealer to get my oil changed but today I decided to try something different and go to Jiffy Lube. The cost for the same oil 0W20 on a Honda Fit was over double what I paid at the dealer. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this place again. I can get a much better deal at the dealer without them trying to upsell me on everything. read more

Trying to give this location a second shot after they forgot to put my oil cap back on last year and I had to have the whole engine cleaned. Today is the first time ever seen them spray a bunch of cleaner up underneath my car. Wtf, I've never had anyone spray cleaner underneath my car for an oil change, it's unnecessary. The kid working says they do it all the time, this is a first for me. I saw the cleaner shooting out the top of my engine as the hood was open. read more

Stopped in today to get my tranny fluid checked and the guys were more than prepared to share that I had more tranny fluid than I needed, which was done at the error of the VW dealership that had installed my new transmission! Pulled in and an attendant asked what I needed. I asked for an oil change and they showed me to the waiting room. There were no other cars so everyone was working on my vehicle. They checked it out, offered up sells and I authorized what I wanted. Fast and courteous service. I would have given a better review but they didn't attach my oil pan cover properly and it's broken and had to be removed. The wind ripped it off as I was driving down the interstate. The noise scared me so I pulled into the slow lane and slowed down. The noise stopped. Made it to work and forgot about it. Left work that night and the noise was much worse. It's now scraping the pavement. I pulled off the interstate to see it was dangling by one bolt. I had to completely remove it because it was irreparable. read more

I took my car here to get my oil changed before a trip to Oregon last year. They had a deal that they would change the oil, do a full check on the car and top off all the other fluids for about $40/$50. I was thinking that it was a great deal and I thought that the attendants were really helpful and nice. It was a super long wait and all the stale coffee and weird daytime PBS shows didn't help. When I finally was checked out, the whole thing ended up costing $100 which was more than twice what the deal was. Turns out they added on windshield wipers (at half off, but I never approved them putting them in) and they charged me for a really expensive synthetic (I think) kind of oil in addition to the oil change. Just because I am a woman AND came into an auto shop by myself does not mean I should be taken advantage of! I'm definitely not going back. read more

I had a bad experience at the Jiffy Lube in University Place, WA. I was waiting to hear back from corporate- but still needed an oil change. I was in Olympia, and saw no waiting at this location. BOY am I glad I stopped in!!!! I was greeted at my car before I even shut it off. In and out in less than 15 minutes, and no aggressive upsell - even though I was on a corporate account!!! Well it's been roughly 3000 miles ago that it was time to change my oil. After realizing my Saturn Dealership closed up shop, I took an chance and ran to a chain lube. Scary...I know. The customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. Opening doors, being polite, talking clearly, clean, and extremely friendly. They kept me updated and made my wait feel like nothing at all. I like their screen service so you can see everything as they add it on and enter your information. Even a guy checked out my glass for cracks. My darlin lil car was vacuumed and all windows were cleaned. Price was good for the market. So you're asking why only three stars!? 1. The waiting room is very dull and worn, not dirty but in need of updating. A very unwelcoming feeling especially compared to the awesome service. a. The layout made it a tight squeeze. At one point we had seven people in this tiny waiting room plus two employees. I would have bet the walls were closing in. 2. The phone I had to use to call my insurance company to repair the rock chip was VERY dirty and kinda grossed me out. 3. They didn't have the air filter type for my car, it is a brand new model but still, don't offer if you don't have it. 4. While it didn't seem like I waited a long time, I was there for 45 minutes. I think they could have been a little faster. I would and most likely will go back. read more

In and out in under 15 minutes - I barely had time to read the Kelly Clarkson interview in the Redbook in their waiting room. It helps that I was the only customer, but the crew was fast, friendly, and competent. They vacuumed my car, which was desperately needed, and walked me to and from my car for safety. Couldn't have asked for better or faster service! Was worth calling in advance to see how busy they were. I was driving from Seattle to Portland, and had tried one Jiffy Lube prior that told me there would be an hour wait. I decided to keep on my route and try another store, and this Tumwater shop was the right answer for sure! read more

This is my absolute go to place to get my car serviced. The guys are friendly and informative and as a woman, I never feel taken advantage of. They make recommendations based on what shape my filters, wipers, fluids, etc. are in and honor whatever decision I make regarding my vehicle. I never feel pressured to spend more money, and I feel like I get a great value every time I go. I appreciate the knowledge they share with me and I don't feel like I'm just a dollar sign to them. I don't get these other reviews that say they do services without consent or they overcharged them. Yes, I spend the extra for the good oil. I'd rather spend 100 bucks on car services to keep me running well, rather than buy a new car before I need to because I skimped and got the cheapo service. Go see these guys in Tumwater. I took my Cherokee here for a full fluid change on a Sunday. They were pretty busy, and explained that it would take a little while. I was OK with that. I did have to stand a while, but not because the waiting area was so tiny, but because there was a family of 7 that was waiting ahead of me. Once they left the waiting area proved adequate. The guy at the desk was knowledgeable, and while it's obviously his job to recommend things to help generate revenue, he was not pushy. I got all my fluids replaced (vehicle was not driven much for over a year while I was in deployed) including changing to thicker fluid in my axles to accommodate my new hitch (it is wise to use thicker fluid if you tow things are submit your vehicle to hard conditions). After all the parts and labor and minus my Military discount, I paid about $300 for all the work I had performed which is fairly competitive. (I had a LOT done). So my recap is: Bit of a wait, but it WAS on a Sunday and there were several cars in front of me and it is a small shop. So good considering all that. Location, not the easiest to get into. I had to go into the parking lot of the shopping center, and then sort of run a maze, but it wasn't that bad in retrospect. Service was good, and the price - well if I wanted to save money, I would have done it myself. Worth it to me to not have to put on old clothes, pull up on ramps in my driveway by myself (which is a 2 person job for safety reasons) and then lay on my damp driveway and do it, and then have to take the old fluids somewhere to dispose of properly). I'll probably be a regular. read more

What an amazing experience! My oil light came on while I was driving I5 North. I called Jiffy Lube (found using Waze app) and asked if they could take a look since I wasn't scheduled for another oil change for several months. I drove right on in, the professional gentleman remembered my call, looked at my oil, reset my counter and topped off my window washer fluid ... all in about 2 minutes. I asked how much I owed them ... and they said nothing, we didn't perform any services and we are happy to help! I used to be a fleet manager for a university in Oklahoma. I had mixed experiences with Jiffy Lube. I was always on guard for the up-sale. Today I took my company bus to this location and was told that I didn't need new oil, that the oil was fine (low miles). I had them change the oil filter anyway. There was no pressure to change the air or transmission filters. No coolant flush. Best of all, there was no charge for the filter or topping off the fluids! I believe this is because of the new manager, he told me his name, but I forgot it (sorry). I will be bringing my own vehicles here. read more

Read some pretty mediocre things about this place but yelp is often full of over the top people complaining about less than perfection. Excellent, quick, polite service. These guys are really on top of things and the manager (I assume...big guy... Stephen, I believe) was a gentleman, which you don't always see when you drive in for an oil change with a bunch of manly men knuckle draggers. He is always nice enough to walk me to my car with a great big smile. These guys always take the time to ask me how my day has been no matter how busy they are. They seem to have great communication making this business a quick and well oiled machine (look...I'm being punny). I gave up on other Jiffy Lubes and Oil Can Henry's who do ok work but seem short and like they are annoyed as soon as I pull in and they have to do their jobs.
