Went there last year. Was told they couldn't get my oil fiter canister off and blamed it on the last person who changed the oil. Then told me I had a oil leak coming rear main seal was leaking. (It wasn't leaking before) then sent me on my way. Only to find out that they snapped off the oil drain plug. read more

PSA: do not take your vehicles to Valvoline Instant Oil Change My vehicle went there in November for a routine oil change, full synthetic. Due to a variety of reasons (covid, working from home, pregnancy, maternity) i did not become due for an oil change until recently. 9/22 we brought it in for its oil change and were informed by the Graham Valvoline location that my oil plug was stripped and that we need to take it back to the lacey location because its at the negligence of the prior oil change. So we brought it back. They had us take it to their local mechanic for diagnostic who confirmed the oil plug was stripped and caused the oil pan to need replacing. Since then its been a week and a half of trying to get answers. Today we were told that because its outside of the 3000 mile warranty they will not claim liability. Which begs the question, why have us take it to the mechanic for diagnostic, causing us to drive between 2 counties several times in a week with a 4 month old in tow. Why not tell me that 2 weeks ago when this started? Why would I know a tech damaged my car if it was NOT DUE for an oil change yet? This is the shittiest customer service. read more

Liars and over priced. Lady said she checked cars tire pressure during this so called vehicle inspection before the oil change. She would do caught my tires were in the mid 20s on psi. Tire pressure remained on. Small lies like that will turn me and other customers away. Service needs to improve, prices lowered, to be a great oil change establishment. I didn't bring it up there. On October 15th, I brought my car to Valvoline for an oil change. The technician put too much oil in my engine and destroyed my engine. He saw how much oil was in there because he pulled the dipstick, and yet let me drive off knowing full well he had put way too much oil in the engine. After the oil change, when he showed me the dipsitck, I said that I couldn't see it because it was clear. He condescendingly said, "That's what it's supposed to look like when it's clean," and laughed along with his buddies. Because I had had my oil changed there for many years, I trusted that they had put in enough oil and didn't even know you could put in too much oil. So he KNEW what he had done to my engine, and did nothing to stop the damage from occurring to my car. After the oil change, I drove home (less than 2 miles away). The next day, when I started my car, the oil light came on. I was driving straight to Valvoline when I was a block away from there, and white smoke started coming out of my exhaust pipe. I got to their building to find they were closed, so I went next door to an auto parts store. The person there looked at my car and pulled the dipstick. She showed me how far above the full level the oil was. It was several inches above the full line. When I was at their shop, they were very nonchalant and blase about the fact that they had overfilled the oil in my car. They also refused to put the information into the computer that I had brought my car back. After they drained the oil, I drove straight home and 2 blocks before my house, the oil light started flashing. I had the car towed to Toyota, who said that the engine was destroyed by overfilling it with oil. I filed a complaint with Valvoline's corporate office, and found out that this is a franchise. The manager of the other local location called me and led me to believe that they would take care of repairing my car. He asked for the information from the mechanic and expenses I've incurred. I uploaded the information I had to Valvoline's website. In addition, I had a second mechanic look at it who concurred about the damage and cause. That information was sent to the manager directly from the second mechanic. When I called Valvoline's corporate office to follow up, I was informed that the local "area manager" had closed he claim. Yesterday, I spoke with Rob, the "area manager," who was extremely rude and told me they were not paying for any damages. My car drove perfectly fine before they destroyed it by putting way too much oil in the engine. After they overfilled the engine, I drove it less than 8 miles back and forth between their location and my home. Now they are refusing to accept any responsibility and pay for the damage they caused to my vehicle. read more

This is the worst automotive experience I've had in my LIFE AND IM OVER 50! I made three trips to this location and two to their Shelton location. I had a Groupon coupon. The first time they said I didn't have the right number. The second time they said I needed the bar code on the Groupon which is not on the reciept anywhere. So I had to download the app and went back today only to be told they don't take Groupon offers. It's 26 miles each way for me. That's 52 miles each time. Twice they sent me to the only other location in our area (Shelton) who were the most RUDE people I've ever dealt with. If they don't take Groupon why make me keep returning with different information? They are awful and disgusting people at both places. One manager said "see you tried to save money and look what it got ya"! Do NOT go to these awful places! read more

I too have found them closed early on Sunday AND during the middle of the week by as much as an hour. They are very close to my house and that makes it convenient- but only if you can rely on them being open! Reading some of the other reviews, you might be better off somewhere else. read more

Hi! I would recommend a company wide mask education lesson. I tried to kindly explain that masks need to go over the nose as well as the mouth but I felt like a jerk. The oil change went fine I'm just part of an at-risk group so it was extremely uncomfortable and I did not feel safe. Corporate should make sure safety procedures are clear. Just want everyone to be happy and healthy. Be careful if you're part of an at risk group. Maybe call ahead and explain? Idk. read more

I pulled in for an oil change at 4:40 p.m. with one car in the bays. There were cones in front of both bays and I was told that they were working on the last car of the day. The sign says they're open till 7. Most of us have to work and the posted hours are convenient....when they're open. I have seen them closed several times during business hours. read more

The Valvoline on Yelm Highway in Lacey, WA is the best place for my oil change and other car related needs. The staff is unbelievably amazing and have never come close to disappointing me. They work extremely well and quickly together, have a great time, and provide outstanding customer service! They explain everything to me with ease and confidence. Even better, I never feel pressured into getting additional services. I have had many oil changes at multiple oil changing businesses and NOBODY can do it as well as the trustworthy and wonderful people at Valvoline. I will NEVER stop coming here. Took our 2000 Ford ranger to have the oil changed. They informed us they couldn't change the oil cause the oil filter was to close to the starter and they were afraid it would arc and cause a fire. If they were that afraid, unhook the battery cables. Won't be taking any of our other vehicles there. read more

Loved this place when it was Oil Can Henry's. Valvoline took over and it's been downhill since. Took my wife's car in for an oil change on 3/17/19. Less than a month later wife calls me and she's on the side of the road. One of the skid plates is dragging under the front of the car. Out of the 8 bolts required to hold the skid plate on, only 2 were present. They just tucked the edges and corners of the skid plate into the bumper and fender trim pieces to hold it. What happened to the other 6 bolts and the 8 retaining clips? Apparently they have no problem with having extra parts left over after they service your car. They have no problem sending the customer out the door with the car not properly put back together. Read the reviews for this and other Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) stores. It's a common theme to leave with parts missing. Leaving skid plates barely hanging on appear to be a VIOC specialty. Another VOIC specialty appears to be responding to negative reviews, inviting people to contact VOIC, then VOIC never responding. If only Oil Can Henry's would have held out and kept the business. Avoid VOIC. You'll only be spending money down the road to replace or repair what they F'ed up. read more

I've had my oil changed at this place a few times and found out recently that the entire time I've paid for oil changes, my oil filter has never been replaced. There are no cameras to verify what exactly staff are doing or not doing to your car that you are paying for. WARNING TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

Employee comes out and tells me it's been slow so they have already closed out the till and plan to go home early so they can't service anymore vehicles today. They are going to stand around for 40 minutes and get paid to do nothing? Customer service score ZERO. Told me to come back at 8 AM the next morning. Wonder if he stopped to think that I might have a job to go to on a Monday morning? More important that he gets off early than do the job he is being paid for? read more
