Front office staff was very courteous and professional. The cleaning staff were also nice. My main complaint is that their vacuums are substandard. My family and I have been using cleaning companies for the past 20 years. One hallmark of a good cleaning company is after they clean your dwelling place, you can visually see the clean and smell the clean. The vacuum was a canister vac with no spinning brush to deep clean the carpet. Dog hair remained on my area rugs, which I then had to vacuum up myself, voiding the purpose of them being here. Prior to the crew leaving, I did the "finger test" on the stove. It was still dirty, and the crew took a wet paper towel to clean the areas again. That's not professional. Humor me and spray disinfect to look like you want to clean it. I keep finding things that weren't properly cleaned, which motivated this review. The couch was barely vacuumed as well. I wish I had seen my area rugs and also the couch and mentioned their lack of being clean prior to them leaving, but it's the equipment that is the problem. You can't use canister vacuums in this industry. You must use commercial vacuums with spinning brushes ONLY. read more

I've been using Jiffy Maids to clean my three bedroom house for almost a year, and I'm really happy with the service and the cleaning. They do a thorough job and have never broken anything (some of the other reviews complain about that, but I've never had a single problem). I'd give five stars, but upon occasion, I've asked them to do an extra project (cleaning out window sills or the refrigerator) for an extra fee, and the results haven't been great. I've used Jiffy Maids since 2013, for bi-weekly apartment cleanings, and in that entire time never had one problem. The cleanings were consistent and delivered as promised. Natalie, who runs customer service (or possibly the whole operation, I'm not sure) was always responsive, friendly and helpful. I've recommended this service to a few people and they've always been happy with it as well. My only word of mild warning is that "morning" cleanings can sometimes mean 10:30am, sometimes 9am and sometimes 8:30am. I am very glad that I happened to call Jiffy Maids based up on their ad. I have been with Jiffy Maids now for a few years, and have been incredibly happy. Their office staff is extremely professional and responsive. Their cleaning crews are very good, friendly, and very efficient. Additionally, it is wonderful to have a company that is so trustworthy. I had been missing my Passport since before I hired Jiffy Maids, and on their first cleaning after they were finished, I noticed stacked on my counter, my passport and two checkbooks that they had found. I mean, can you ask for anything better? Lastly, I also have them clean a rental unit, and the tenants are very happy with the service and have never once had any complaints. Their price is absolutely reasonable, they're trustworthy, and I've never had an issue that they haven't been able to resolve quickly. My place is always clean to the highest standards, they are very responsive and courteous on the phone, and they're easy to work with. AWFUL! Do not waste your time with Jiffy Maids when there are other cleaners out there that are honest and efficient. They overcharged me for the initial cleaning (excluding windows, because apparently that is extra??) and they didn't even do a good job with what they did clean. Jiffy Maids is the best! -I've used them for 2 years and never had a negative experience or complaint -reasonable price -helpful and friendly customer service lady who makes the appointments -timely -very thorough cleaning -never broken anything -trustworthy They've been cleaning my 3 bedroom/1 bath house for almost 2 years now. I first used them to do a "Move In" clean when the previous tenants of my house had left it so disgusting. The ladies did an amazing job and saved me probably 10 hours of cleaning. After that I tried a few cheap Groupon cleaning deals for monthly regular house cleaning service but they were all disappointing. Breaking picture frames and glasses, not doing a thorough job etc. So, I decided to call Jiffy Maids and make a regular monthly cleaning appointment with them. So much better than the sketchy Groupon deals! They usually send a team of 3 ladies to my house and they do any awesome job. I have used multiple cleaning services in different cities. I recently moved into a house in NW DC and used Jiffy Maids to provide an initial clean. The booking service was fast, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the cleaning service was poor. I had to arrange for the cleaning team to come in again and after the second visit opted to clean the property myself as I needed to move in and did not have time for them to return for a third attempt at cleaning the property. Jiffy Maids presents themselves as a cleaning service, which includes mopping floors, clearning appliances, and cleaning inside cabinets. I have hard floors throughout the house, which were not mopped (merely vacuumed) and there were whole cabinets and appliances which had not be touched, even after the second attempt. I was not offered any reimbursement or discount on the price of the service. I would not recommend this company to anyone wanting to get their residential property cleaned. read more

They do spend a really short amount of time at the house, but are working hard the entire time and working really efficiently. They sometimes need to be reminded to clean every corner - but are really responsive to any request. "I wanted to tried Jiffy Maids since a lot of the reviews were positive on yelp and I wanted to compare services from my regular cleaners....well...my review is that I will be sticking to my regular cleaners forever. Jiffy Maids were not only late, for more than 30 minutes, but I actually had to called the company to find out where they where. When they finally found them they happened to be having "breakfast" in the car. (No mind that the company knew that I needed to be out the door and the only reason I booked the cleaning was that they promised to be at my house by 8am). After sharing with the cleaning crew that dusting was my priority, and instructing them to clean the bathroom and kitchen, and sweeping the floors in the living room and cleaning behind the couch....I came home to: 1) An apartment that reeks the smell of clorox; 2) Dishes still in the kitchen sink with a kitchen sink not clean 3) A sponge in the bathroom floor 4) An entrance and bathroom rugs not clean/still full of dust and hair 5) Hair and dust in the living room floors 6) Un-made bed 7) Un-dust bookshelf 8) Bathroom towels 9) Couch pillows completely un-care for in the couch (just left all messy as if someone had just sat on it) 10) trash cans without new trashbags put in The list continues....I'm in utter shock that they left my apartment the way they did and charged me $100.00. When I called to complain they refused to refund me money and wanted to send another "crew" to rectify the mistake...at their time and convenience. I had such high hopes for Jiffy Maids after reading other reviews. When I came home I was looking forward to having such relief from having a clean place - and I did not get that feeling. Yes- the floors, kitchen sink and bathrooms are clean. But the crew seemed to do the bare minimum. For example -there was a cup of milk that my husband had left on the kitchen table from breakfast that was still there. They had wiped down the table underneath the cup, but did not take the time to bring the cup to the kitchen. Same goes for a blanket on our couch - crumpled up when I left and still crumpled when I got home. Overall - they cleaned the surfaces - but did not seem to CLEAN our place. I know that folding blankets and picking up our mess is not on their "checklist" - but I for $150 I would hope for some more attention to detail. Terrible service. Worked out to about $40 an hour for a cursory cleaning. Since they barely spoke English I'm sure Jiffy Maids is getting about 80% of that. The vacuum they use is like a wet vac (no brush) and doesn't actually get the carpet clean. If the kitchen floor was mopped I couldn't tell since there were still tomato stains on the tile. I specifically asked them to mop behind the TV because my cat decided to try pooping in a new area and tipped the maid 20 bucks as soon as she came in. She said it wouldn't be a problem but all she did was stick the vacuum head back there for a couple seconds. She seemed actively annoyed when I told her it wasn't exactly clean back there and then left without making much more of an effort. I called Jiffy Maids after they left and they told me to send them an email. That was a week ago and I haven't heard back. Absolutely terrible customer service. With tip it cost me $160 for a small one bedroom apartment. Total rip-off. I will NEVER go back to them. read more

Upon arriving home I was happy, the place appeared to be clean....upon further and closer inspection it looked like a quick, rushed job. If easily reached with zero effort then it was cleaned. Floors in kitchen was clean but then I went to the sink and the faucet had not been cleaned. The area beside my toilet was admittedly very dirty and not cleaned at all!!! I posted photos. I called and they said they would return to clean, but I wanted my money back. They offered $5. I would hope they would do great work on the first time so they would be fired again. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I will never use their service again. I saw there were a lot of negative reviews and pictures, but I was in a bind to get someone out quickly and figured even if they didn't do the best job it was ok. What I was NOT prepared for was to have them arrive, call me to say my house is "exceptionally" dirty, then try to get me to pay more money. I asked them to take pictures to show what specifically was such a mess above and beyond the normal, and they said no. I said they could leave and I would get someone else in and they said no, don't worry about it. I am a neat freak to the point where my boyfriend wonders why we even need a cleaning service. I spend an afternoon each weekend cleaning. I mean down on the floors using the vacuum attachment to get under furniture and everything. I attached a picture I took three days ago when a friend asked how my weekend was and I responded it was great because I cleaned my house. I hired Jiffy Maids for the first and last time last week (9/2/2011). Making the appointment to fit my schedule was very convenient, but I was unhappy to learn that wiping ordinary household soil (coffee, in the most obvious instance) from the wall could not be done without calling the office to arrange for an additional service fee. Given that the initial price was 20% higher than what I have paid for comparable cleaning in the same apartment (that included removing actual scuff marks from the walls, in addition to coffee), I will not hire this company again. read more

I'm not sure who is answering the phone there at Jiffy Maids, but I can't get a conversation with the owner! The woman who answers the phone is so rude, all she ever says is "They're unavailable". I called back a second time today to see if someone else might answer the phone and engage me in a conversation about their service, etc. No such luck as the woman who answered hung-up on me! If the woman who answers the phone is one of the owners - I'd steer clear of this service. 3.5 stars. I recently paid $135 for cleaning my place, which we negotiated to be 1 BR (I have a roommate, and I didn't pay for his room to be cleaned), 800 SF, living room, dining room, 1.5 baths. I wasn't that impressed with the quality of the service. For one thing, the cleaners were at my house for less than an hour and a half. Granted, there were two of them. Also, I will concede that if the place was sparkling, well it doesn't really matter how much time they spent.. Well let's start with the good stuff - the bathrooms looked great (at least the tub and mirrors, etc). But the negatives outweighted the positives: 1. I don't think they wiped basebaords and the top of door frames, as they were supposed to (and per the website). 2. Floor mopping was subpar. I definitely saw them mop the living room, but it didn't look like my upstairs wood floors or my bathrooms floors were mopped. i.e. When I mop, my floor sparkles. When they mopped, it looked pretty much the same. 3. They were supposed to dust surfaces, but they missed a lot of stuff. For example, my TV and the TV console were pretty dusty. 4. I have a ton of pillows on my couch. It was pretty messy when they arrived (pillows thrown haphazardly), and it was still pretty messy when they left. You would think they would arrange the pillows to make it "look" less messy but they pretty much left it the way it was. 5. Kitchen cabinets didn't really sparkle. 6. And here's the worst part - the job includes taking out the trash. I told the cleaners where my trash bags were. Well after they had left, I found a trail of liquid from my condo door to the building door. I guess the trash bag was leaking; I found liquid on the stair treads and the downstairs hallway. Obviously I had to clean it up (so that my neighbors wouldn't kick my ass), but cleaning the stair treads is a big effort which I didn't do. I did put a call to them, and the manager that responded seemed pretty nice. He asked if he wanted me to have his cleaners come back. I said no, because I had already cleaned up their mess and the stuff they missed. So that was nice. On the other hand, given the price and the care (not) taken, I'm not sure I'll hire them again. read more

Jiffy Maids makes the process of obtaining a cleaning fairly easy via email communication and electronic payment. I have a small 1BR, 1BA and the cleaning service was fairly comprehensive. I think you can specify if you want anything cleaned in particular and they leave the names of the cleaning team. This is useful if you want to retain the services of a specific team. The pricing is reasonable albeit on market for such services. Generally you get better service via these firms with larger teams compared to one maid contractors. I've had one cleaning and will keep the Yelp community up to date with the continued service quality of Jiffy Maids. read more

Been using Jiffy Maids for some time now. They get the house pretty clean, nothing special, an are generally on time. They are pretty pricey, I will admit. My most recent experience with Jiffy Maids did cause me to reduce from 4 stars to two. They came on Friday to clean. At the end of the cleaning one of the two women on my crew grabbed the trash to taken it out. I let her know that it's downstairs in a locked room and I would handle it. She insisted she would take it with her, so I allowed her. Fast forward to today Wednesday, I find the trash bags she took from my home in the back stair case sitting in the hall with rotted food. I guess she changed her mind and decided to leave it in the hall of my condo building instead of returning it to me. :-/ Probably won't be returning to Jiffy Maids if this is the kind of service they provide to a returning customer. read more

This was my first experience ordering a maid service, and I will be ordering another. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work done, but I question whether the 2 maids sent utilized their time well. The dispatch called to let me know the cleaners were on their way to my place, this was very helpful. The cleaners arrived, and were friendly and began assessing the job immediately. There was a language barrier, but we did pretty well. I was most concerned about my kitchens, floors and bathroom. I ordered a 3 hour Premium deep cleaning, but did not get a full deep clean, although the workers did a good overall job. None of the insides of my cabinets were cleaned or wiped out, and my floors don't feel 100%. The work in the bathroom was excellent, although the inside of the cabinets weren't cleaned. In retrospect, I would've spent more time monitoring the work as it's being done, ask the cleaners to start on the hardest to clean areas first and possibly tackle one area at a time instead of trying to get multiple areas done at once. read more
