I offered to trade some of my estate watches towards the purchase & Manny offered to take a look. I traded a men's vintage *Tag Heuer* and a *Vintage Tiffany Rolex* Sub Mariner. I added some cash into the deal. I collected vintage from estate sales inexpensively, but was totally naive as to their value. The Rolex alone had value perhaps twice the Bertolucci. It must've been clear to jewelers. I see the rate Tiffany Rolex seeking for stunning prices. I was and am still stunned Manny would take advantage of me and the family. They were going to hold my watch for the owner, Lisa, to replace the battery but luckily, she came in while I was still there and quickly made the repair. Also, I sold them my broken gold chain. So I still came out ahead. The owner and her staff were very nice, the jewelry cases have some gorgeous pieces, and I think it says a lot about a person if they have their dog at their establishment.

He found Glenview Jewelers (thanks Yelp) and purchased a lovely bracelet that can be worn and all times- day and night. When I first tried it on it was huge so I went back to the jeweler to get it fitted. The very sweet woman who was in the store seemed excited to meet me after mentioning she had helped my husband pick out the bracelet. They said it would take about a week to fix and would call me when it was ready. I did a little browsing of my own while in there and they have such beautiful jewelry that I can imagine it was difficult to choose one thing. When my bracelet was ready I went to pick it up twice and both times the store was closed, even though it was during their typical opening hours. It was a little annoying since it's at least a 20 minute drive to my house. I stopped by a third time when in the area and the third time was the charm because it was ready for me. She told me that they would be $50 per band, and I was very specific I wanted them before I left town over Labor Day weekend. She said no problem and she would call me when they were ready for pick up. On Friday 8/26 I called the shop after not hearing from anyone to ask if they might be ready? She left me a voicemail saying they are backed up and that it was now $75 a band. I will say the the woman I worked was professional and nice when I first went there. However, no call was made to let me know that they were even behind. To me that would've nice to know. As apparently the sizing is not done on sight. I'm disappointed as I feel they over promised and undelivered. What was communicated at the time turned out not to be. And when the owner called me to let me know my rings were back at the shop on Sat for pick up. She never apologized or tried to even save the sale. So I was disappointed all the way around. I think it's clear this store strengths centers around original designs but for the service I was looking for it fell short. As a former sales person, it's all about the service. And for this experience is was lacking.

After getting our appraisals and getting our jewelry back, the watch they appraised and cleaned was…read morerunning very slow. It was not that way when I dropped it off for appraisal. We paid $50 extra to have the watch cleaned, so assumed they were cleaning the entire watch. When I called to ask if they could take a look at and fix the watch, they told me to bring it in and they would quote me for the fix. I pushed back and they said this happens sometimes - a watch will be cleaned and coincidentally will develop an unrelated problem. That's when I asked if something could have happened when they cleaned the watch. I was told they only cleaned the band and not the watch itself. This was not what was explained when I agreed to the cleaning. Simply stated, they asked if I wanted the watched cleaned for another $50. I think they probably meant the band but that wasn't how it was proposed to me. The quote was $275 to fix it, I find it is very odd that you drop off a perfectly working watch for appraisal and the timing mechanism develops a problem while just sitting there. I don't understanding but will give Daniel's the benefit of the doubt and agree it must have just been bad timing. I'm still happy with Daniel's Jewelry overall but have to knock off one star for the confusion around the appraisal followed by the repair.

Franz jewelers spent over an hour going through every piece so I could know what was of value. They then cleaned everything. I had at least 50 pieces of jewelry that was a combination of rings, necklaces, earring etc. They didn't charge me even though I so insisted on paying something. But they wouldn't take any $. We used a family jeweler growing up and I am so glad that I can have a family jeweler in our neighborhood that is trustworthy and thoughtful! They are the best!
