I just have to say that working with Mia was such a wonderful experience. I went into her shop with very little knowledge about diamonds (first time ring buyer.) I was shopping around for an engagement ring for my girlfriend and was not liking the way I was treated everywhere I went. Before visiting Mia's I had been to roughly 5 other big name jewelry stores before trying a smaller independent shop. Mia was the only one who just didn't try pushing me to purchase and sell me on more and more expensive diamonds. What Mia did differently was she took the time to educate me. I learned so much about the 4 C's, what to look for in a diamond and how to pick out the perfect one for my needs and budget. She then spent time researching and bringing in diamonds for us to look at until we then found the perfect one for me. Once the diamond was purchased she helped me with the process of picking out/designing the custom band through Verragio. She sent the diamond to NY for me and followed up with them regularly to ensure completion in time for me to leave for vacation where I planned the proposal. She even kept me updated regularly with calls and texts. This level of service you will not find at a place like Kays, Zales or any other big name jewelry franchise. Another thing I noticed is every time I was in Mia's shop, regular customers of hers would come in for cleanings, new purchases, picking up jewelry, etc etc. All these customers also seemed so happy and personable with Mia. I found Mia's through the Verragio website. We went there to look at these particular rings that I'd always admire online. Turns out, they weren't entirely my style. We looked at a lot of her rings. All of her jewelry is beautiful!! After a while, I turn around and start admiring another engagement ring/band set. I think I fell in love immediately. WOW! WOW! WOW! Mia helped me create the greatest ring ever to propose to the love of my life with. Once I decided that I was going to propose, I asked my girlfriend to go look at rings because I wanted her to pick the setting she would like. In response to the G.K. post, I could not disagree more. I purchased a Tacori engagement ring from Mia's and plan on returning to purchase the matching band. If you are in the market for Tacori, there is no better dealer. I spent over four months and worked with every authorized dealer in the city and burbs. I found every store twists and turns their story to get you to buy whatever they have in stock or get you to overpay for the center stone. For example, one dealer almost had me convinced they can sell me a Tacori ring, size it, and set the stone all in-house. I contacted Tacori (which the manufacturer frowns heavily on), but they confirmed this is NOT the case. The only person who also told me this beforehand? Mia. I found that Mia's advice is the most accurate and closest to the manufacturer's. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to spend more on a gaudier version of the ring model my fiance wanted (not all Tacori models are identical). I also really appreciated that she did not leverage her status as one of a few authorized dealers to charge me double what the center stone would have cost online. Even though all of this was not in her best sales interest, Mia helped me find my answer. Buying an engagement ring can get pretty specific and complex if you do not do your homework. There are issues beyond simple finger size and $$. Since it is such a large purchase, you can set yourself up for a huge disappointment if you do not know the ins/outs of ring purchasing. I would recommend anyone who's fiance wants a Tacori to really lookup the technical aspects of rings and stones (not just cost and size). I spent triple the time researching this purchase than I did for my car! After you get your feet wet, go to Mia's first and she will give you the straight facts, an honest quote, and educate you on anything else you need to know. Some of it may be not what you want to hear, but at least it will be accurate. All other Tacori dealers rely on emotional appeal and dishonest practices. They try to tell you want to hear and it may not be the best from a quality of product or fair price standpoint. Buying a ring can be stressful with the amount of money, whether it's the right ring, and what not, but Mia and Monica went beyond my expectations. We looked at a couple of rings and narrowed it down to two, but couldn't pick they both were stunning. Mia had us consider more options between the two and it made the decision easier. We went with a Verragio and it was the best decision I had made. The ring is beautiful and the center stone Mia personally picked looks great every time I see it. Payment: Mia makes sure to work with you so you can have that special ring. There's financing plans she offers, but I paid 3-4 installments which she was fine with without financing. By personal message, with inaccurate facts, the business owner intimidated me and threatened me with legal action while not recognizing that the burden of proof is on her. Well, My experience is as far away as possible from the previous review. I would like to share my story because, I too am a business owner and the customer CARE I received was amazing, I would want my efforts to be shared for others to read/ hear about. Let me start by stating that Mia's is located in a older style commercial lot and could seem a bit hesitating, however i could not recommend them more. I stopped in there merely because another jeweler was closed on a monday that carried the Tacori designer. Mias was open, and was the closest in the area. Monica was the jeweler that was present and was so very nice to me. I mention to her that my fiancee was interested in the Tacori style rings and that I wanted to price them out. Monica was so helpful in explaining to me the due diligence process and the differences in how diamonds where measured. I was pretty well versed in the process before I stopped in, because like most of us, we always do our online homework before spending lots of money. Even though she was so helpful and clear, that most important information she told me was, to shop around and to have my fiancee try the ring on before I make any decision, since jewelry can be like trying on clothes. She was so open and honest with me, it was refreshing to feel that transparency. Since I was planning on surprising my fiancee with the ring, I was a little intimated about how to "try the ring on", Monica suggested that i bring her in and Mia and herself would pretend that we had never met. This of course still a daunting task however, its alway fun to try on jewelry, right ladies? ( plus it was perfect because Monica knew what styles my fiancee was interested, and it was a sure way to the her sized.) So one afternoon I brought her in, and Mia and Monica were both so helpful in getting her sized. As it turned out, to my surprise my fiancee hated the Tacori ring on her hand. It was a beautiful ring, just not for her. Mia and Monica then lead us in the direction of Verragio. She fell in love! I'm telling you, the biggest weight was lifted off my shoulders and my confidence was sky-high. After all that I returned to Mia's alone and the ladies had everything prepared, THE SIZE, THE BEST CUT FOR THE SETTING, THE BEST PRICE, (trust me I checked) everything I discussed with them prior. After all of this, their customer service did not stop, Since this was a designer ring and we were changing the cut of the center stone, ( which they also found out for me) the ring had to be ship back to the designer. Once returned Mia's would set the stone and it would be ready. I must have been a pain because I had to have this all done in 3 week since I was proposing in Colorado on a road trip. Let me say, they had everything completed to perfection, and the was never a sense of pressure from them. THEY ARE WONDERFUL, everything was beautiful and perfect! Mia's is definitely a different kind of jewelry shop. It is not part of a big-name chain. It is not located in an expensive neighborhood or a high-rent jewelry district or mall. However, they can still get the high-end products that you would find at a big-name store, and they provide impeccable customer service. I recently bought an engagement ring at Mia's, and I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. I turned to Mia's after searching the internet for authorized Tacori dealers; there are not many in the Chicago area. I read great online reviews and recommendations from other customers who purchased jewelry from Mia's and after having visited a big-name chain and browsed the internet, I decided to check them out. That is when I met Monica, the sales rep who helped me throughout the ring buying process; and it is more of a process than I initially anticipated. I thought you just showed up and purchased a ring. I was wrong. Despite that, Monica was able to get everything together for me a week before I was to leave town for the proposal. On my first visit to Mia's, Monica showed me the settings they had in the store. They did not have the one that I wanted in store but I was able to pull it up on their computer. (They can order any Tacori product.) I told her my overall budget and she showed me a stone that they had that was priced just out of my budget. She offered to look around for a cheaper stone for me, and we looked at diamond certifications online but did not find anything of similar quality. Monica assured me that I would not find a better deal, and she was right! I, however, was a bit uneasy committing to the purchase on my first visit just because this is the biggest expense that I have ever incurred, and, so, for my peace of mind Monica explained the basics of diamond shopping and suggested that I look around while I thought about it. After working with two other jewelers to look for stones I returned to Mia's. The stone Monica picked out for me was of far better quality than any the other jewelers or my online searches could produce within my budget. Moreover, the level of comfort Monica created on my first visit had already sealed the deal! At Mia's their goal is to produce lifelong customers. This was obvious in the time and attention that they dedicated to my single purchase, which was relatively small in the realm of engagement rings; and their commitment to working with me to get me as comfortably close to my budget as possible without reducing quality. I could not have afforded to purchase such an amazing engagement ring anywhere else. I will definitely be returning to purchase our wedding bands and they will always be my first stop for any future big jewelry purchases. Mia is the best jeweler ever. She helped turn the most memorable moment of my life into something more memorable than the disaster it was quickly turning out to be. I surprised my husband and flew his Mom in for his birthday the year we got engaged. He was so happy that he wanted to surprise me and propose to me while his Mom and my Mom were present. The problem was it was a Sunday and only the commercial jewelers were open. When we were looking, I thought it was just that, looking so I was not really looking, looking for that lifelong ring. Next thing I know he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was amazing. The problem was the ring. For the money he was paying for the two rings he bought it was not worth the price.
