A very cute downtown little bakery with plenty of tasty pastries, cakes, muffins and sandwiches. Great coffee and my bacon, egg and cheese English muffin was delicious. Hot off the griddle, it was fresh and toasty with crispy bacon and a perfect egg. And the home made blueberry muffin was so tender fluffy and wonderful. A melt in your mouth experience. I bought a dozen of their cupcakes to take home and was delighted at how delicious they were. Chocolate, Cookies and Cream and Red Velvet to name a few. Decent bakery. Their food is good, but nothing too special. The cannolis were tasty, but the eclair was okay. The breakfast sandwich was good, however the ambiance was lacking. The employee was very polite. I didn't try lots of their food or buy a custom made cake (which appear to be wonderful in other photos and reviews) so I cannot be too critical. Overall a decent bakery, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here unless I wanted a custom baked cake. If you're in the area and want a sweet treat though, come here! read more

I have to share my experience with Jill's Cakes and Bakes! I needed a cake for a baby shower across the country and found this gem. From the very first call, they understood exactly what I wanted. Their communication was top-notch, and everyone I spoke to was on the same page.   I sent them some decorations for the cake, and they applied them perfectly! It's so amazingly good. Best cake I have found. I am something of a cake enthusiast and have literally scoured the earth for great cake. This is amazing cake. Also some of the best cinnamon rolls to be found. Cookies are great too. We have used them for multiple events now and don't mind making the drive to Ball Ground; it's totally worth it. I am only reviewing the breakfast at this time. I ordered a bagel (not baked in the house) tosted with cream cheese and a slice tomatoes and then the only items that they made in house which are the biscuit and croissant tosted with butter. I spent $10.08 for the 3 items. Sadly, the bagel was disappointing, thrybforgot to add tomato to the order (still charged me) also the bagel was so was tiny, and definitely not in any way gourmet, l so if you are used to panera bread bagels, then don't go here. You will be disappointed by just looking at it. Regarding the croissant and the biscuit, they were not gourmet or in any way special. Sadly, Publix bagels, croissants, and biscuits are much better quality I honestly hate having to write this review as I love to support local businesses but for almost $4+ dollars per item the quality should been much better. read more

It was OK. The best thing we ordered was the chocolate covered peanut butter balls. It was essentially a large sized buckeye. They should seriously consider a white chocolate version. The macaroons had a weird chewy consistency to their filling. I would not order them again. I am going to give this place another chance for sure. They have a lot of lunch options. Perhaps the worst macaroon I've ever had and the most blah cupcake. My visit here was inconsistent and hopefully not an example of the quality of their goods. I had a macaroon, a cupcake, and a peanut butter ball. The macaroon was just awful. There is no nicer way to explain it. The flavor was off, the shell was not crisp, and the filling had a terrible gummy texture/feel. It was chewy, almost the texture and feel of already chewed gum. After reading some other reviews I think I know what was wrong...it was old. The strawberry cupcake was...meh. The cupcake itself was fine, it just tasted and seemed very...Duncan Hines. The peanut butter ball was the best thing I had this visit. It was a ball of peanut butter covered in chocolate...you really can't get that wrong and it was good. Would I go back...not sure. If I do, I definitely will not be having another one of their macaroons. read more

Disappointing lunch! No eggs for an Eggwich, no white bread, no potatoes...must've hit them at a bad time. Two Turkey "plates" with two sodas...$28. Essentially one piece of iceberg lettuce with maybe two slices of Oscar Mayer turkey, slice of tomato, and a missing avocado, and some unknown sauce. Stick to their sweets/baked goods and skip the actual real food. I got a tomato grilled cheese and was pretty disappointed. It was made with two thin slices of American fake cheese that weren't even melted all the way. I could easily make better at home in the same amount of time. I suggest using a generous amount of extra sharp cheddar, which is more expensive but totally worth it, and spreading the insides of the bread with mayo and mustard. I rated 2 stars because even though their bakery products are decent enough they recently changed their brownie recipe. A few months ago when I first went by their brownie was like something out of some first class New York bakery. Now it tastes like they're using a mix. I can make mix brownies at home. I stopped by unexpectedly today after having lunch right down the road! I have a habit of checking restaurants on Yelp before walking into them, and I saw Jill's Bakery's Yelp deal!! My friend and I purchased a cake pop, and with it, we got two free cupcakes! We both chose the strawberry. Oh my gosh, these cupcakes were GOOD. Their icing was cream cheese, and it was sweet but not over powering! I'm not an icing fan, so I did scrape some off (scraped off some calories?) but that was my own personal preference. The cake itself was so moist and flavorful, even right before closing! There were even some strawberry pieces in the cake. I loved that! Their service is awesome, and so was the food.
