You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The boots are very comfortable and raised off the floor. We were brought a platter of corn muffins and butter but no plates so we had to use napkins to eat them on. I ordered the stuffed baked potato with brisket and the stuffed macaroni and cheese balls. I ordered the potato without sour cream but it came with it. The potato was enormous so I could only eat the brisket and bacon. The brisket was perfectly cooked. The Mac and cheese balls were amazing One companion ordered a turkey sandwich. She loved the turkey so much that she plans to order a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. Another diner had the 1 pound plate of ribs. The meat fell off the bone and he loved the sauce. The other diner had the 3 meat special with ribs, turkey and brisket. It was all delicious. A special mention for the ice.

We recently placed a pickup order here. We arrived about 10 minutes before the stated time the food would be ready... and the food was NOT ready until the time they had promised. My bad for underestimating time spent in traffic! Food was great and our customized orders were correct. The family deals are the way to go!

What is there to say about Jim 'N Nick's that would help you enjoy this location? Is it that this is the only location you have to go to the counter and order? You get to refill your own drinks? That your order has a 3 in 10 chance of being what the Menu says it is? While it gives you the appearance of a good BBQ place that is misguided. My opinion would be to steer clear of the Turkey Sandwich. That would be the Joe's Original Turkey. What comes on it you may ask? Lettuce; Tomato and Honey Mustard but I asked to add Mayo. My fellow dinner asked for Mayo but no honey mustard. She did not get the mayo or honey mustard and I did not get honey mustard but did get mayo. Simple mixup but you have to remember the sides and I wanted mayo and honey mustard. I know it was one time no this was the second time this month for the same sandwich and the first time is came with no lettuce; tomato; or anything else when asked. This first time there was a 3rd with us who wanted corn but the corn was looked like it was dehydrated. The look and feel along with prices of a high end BBQ place you would think better. I can truly only think of one worse place and that would be Martin's BBQ.

I come to Jim 'N Nick's whenever I'm looking for a quick but delicious meal and they consistently do great each time I come! I normally order the chicken tender basket or the burger with corn or baked beans and it is always amazing! I always have to get the house salad too. Each time I order from this location my order is hot, yummy, and accurate. I can't speak too much on the ambiance inside, but what I can say is that the dress code is casual. I mostly order either through the drive-thru or via the website as a pick-up order but I often see patrons entering and exiting the establishment casually dressed. Overall, this is one of my favorite casual spots and I can't wait to come back! Tip: You cannot pick up curbside orders from the drive through.

I was already not loving the new layout and concept of ordering at the counter then found out we no longer get biscuits for the table. WHAT?! Both issues for corporate for sure BUT this specific location has its own issues...we were served a potato WITH a coach roach in the meat. So unfortunately I'm done with Jim N Nicks ‍

They were not stingy at all. My food quality was peak, despite the nearness of closing time. My bbq pork was succulent and perfectly sliced. There was no tough meat. There was plenty of sauce, pickles, and chow chow. The potato salad was sweet, tangy, and creamy and the mac and cheese was deliciously cheesy. I love their mac and cheese because while creamy and cheesy it doesn't taste like Velvetta. It reminds me of my mom's home made baked version. The entire experience was grea

Buddy's was the first of the BBQ places in Alabaster; been here since before the Shelby county boom. It's simple; nothing fancy here. We got the pork plates. It came with 2 sides, so fries and potato salad. Fries were good. The potato salad was runny. There was a little too much sauce, but the meat itself had a good flavor to it. I need to make more of an effort to come back more often and try some different sides. But I do recommend the burgers; always worth the wait.

Bun was soft inside and nicely toasted in the outside. Bread and butter pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce topped it off. But the star of the show were the fries cooked in beef tallow!! Only concern was I asked for Champy's sauce with the tender basket, looked at it in the parking lot and noticed it looked like their honey mustard instead. Tried it, confirmed it tasted like honey mustard, then went inside with my receipt asking for it to be switched for Champy's sauce. Spoke to a waitress (not the one who helped us at drive thru) and I explained that I wanted Champy's sauce. She said "uh huh" confused and I held up what I had saying it tasted like honey mustard. She said yes Champy's sauce is honey mustard based. I told her I've been to (and worked as a teenager) at Champy's before in Tennessee and the color was more yellow than the orange I'm used to (like they added too much honey mustard) and again it tasted exactly like honey mustard. She explained that the Champy's sauce (and red heat) recipe was different at their location. I took her answer and left. Not sure if I indeed had honey mustard (they come in the same containers) and she didn't want to double check or if their Champy's sauce recipe really is just primarily honey mustard. I think the people of Alabama are missing out though on the champys sauce from the original location in Chattanooga, not sure why there is so much variation between locations.
