You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The boots are very comfortable and raised off the floor. We were brought a platter of corn muffins and butter but no plates so we had to use napkins to eat them on. I ordered the stuffed baked potato with brisket and the stuffed macaroni and cheese balls. I ordered the potato without sour cream but it came with it. The potato was enormous so I could only eat the brisket and bacon. The brisket was perfectly cooked. The Mac and cheese balls were amazing One companion ordered a turkey sandwich. She loved the turkey so much that she plans to order a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. Another diner had the 1 pound plate of ribs. The meat fell off the bone and he loved the sauce. The other diner had the 3 meat special with ribs, turkey and brisket. It was all delicious. A special mention for the ice.

I'm so glad to see that the location is still here. The bbq is very good and the staff is friendly. I placed my order to go and everything got placed correctly in the bag. You need to stop and get your order tonight, the chicken was tender and had great flavor. Not a huge fan of the collard greens but love the potato salad. My daughter's said that the ribs are better than my dad. So go place an order right now.

We recently placed a pickup order here. We arrived about 10 minutes before the stated time the food would be ready... and the food was NOT ready until the time they had promised. My bad for underestimating time spent in traffic! Food was great and our customized orders were correct. The family deals are the way to go!

What is there to say about Jim 'N Nick's that would help you enjoy this location? Is it that this is the only location you have to go to the counter and order? You get to refill your own drinks? That your order has a 3 in 10 chance of being what the Menu says it is? While it gives you the appearance of a good BBQ place that is misguided. My opinion would be to steer clear of the Turkey Sandwich. That would be the Joe's Original Turkey. What comes on it you may ask? Lettuce; Tomato and Honey Mustard but I asked to add Mayo. My fellow dinner asked for Mayo but no honey mustard. She did not get the mayo or honey mustard and I did not get honey mustard but did get mayo. Simple mixup but you have to remember the sides and I wanted mayo and honey mustard. I know it was one time no this was the second time this month for the same sandwich and the first time is came with no lettuce; tomato; or anything else when asked. This first time there was a 3rd with us who wanted corn but the corn was looked like it was dehydrated. The look and feel along with prices of a high end BBQ place you would think better. I can truly only think of one worse place and that would be Martin's BBQ.

I come to Jim 'N Nick's whenever I'm looking for a quick but delicious meal and they consistently do great each time I come! I normally order the chicken tender basket or the burger with corn or baked beans and it is always amazing! I always have to get the house salad too. Each time I order from this location my order is hot, yummy, and accurate. I can't speak too much on the ambiance inside, but what I can say is that the dress code is casual. I mostly order either through the drive-thru or via the website as a pick-up order but I often see patrons entering and exiting the establishment casually dressed. Overall, this is one of my favorite casual spots and I can't wait to come back! Tip: You cannot pick up curbside orders from the drive through.

There was plenty of sauce, pickles, and chow chow. The potato salad was sweet, tangy, and creamy and the mac and cheese was deliciously cheesy. The restaurant is sitting on the corner of Pelham Parkway and County Road 68 East, across from The Foundry Superthrift Outlet and Dollar General, and next door to TherapySouth. It is a nice sized place and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was helped by Dyron, who seemed like he never knew a stranger. He was so kind to everyone, including those on the phone. I even heard him say, "So we got your dad covered - what can I get started for YOU?" He was excited when he found out I was a "newbie". I love the menu. Each item has some form of "hit" in the name - slappin', crackin', slammin', and more. I ended up with the "Bussin' Burger" and a side of fries to go (since I was heading back to work). The food is cooked upon ordering, so my meal was nice and hot when I left. And I am here to tell you, the name of the burger was totally accurate! It was delicious - seasoned very well, and the perfect amount of toppings. The fries were good, but that burger - so good! No wonder Hit Different is a 2026 Shelby County Small Business of the Year Nominee! They deserve it and then some! Do yourself a favor, listen to the other Yelpers, and head down Highway 31 for an amazing meal at Hit Different! I am going back!

We were greeted promptly and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I LOVE roast beef, so it peaked my interest. My wife chose the Smiley burger. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. My wife ordered the Fried Mississippi Catfish with fries and coleslaw, along with jalapeño hush puppies. The fried chicken and catfish were the stars of the meal. Both came out piping hot, crispy, and well seasoned. My chicken had plenty of flavor to stand on its own, but the Sweet Heat sauce complemented it nicely and added another layer of flavor without overpowering the chicken. The French fries were excellent and easily the best side. Crispy, hot, and exactly how fries should arrive. The remaining sides didn't reach the same level. We both found the vinegar-and-mayo coleslaw somewhere between average and below average. I felt about the same about my baked beans. My wife thought the jalapeño hush puppies were average. If you want excellent hush puppies, Shrimp & Co. in Hueytown remains our standard. Both of our meals were also served with a thick slice of white bread, which fit the simple, down-home presentation. This was our second or third visit to Champy's, and the food that matters most has been excellent each time. The sides may be hit or miss, but they know how to fry some chicken and catfish.
