Maddox did a great job serving us on Valentine's Day 2026. The manager checked in on our table at the end to ensure our satisfaction as guests, which is always a nice touch. A couple that had never been to a Jim N Nicks joined us for dinner and they thoroughly enjoyed their combo meat meal. Our picture features the 2nd basket of cheesy corn muffins delivered to the table. Why? Because the waitress was very friendly and had to apologize that the food was so slow to arrive. The OG Turkey sandwich was pretty darn tasty. However the corn wasn't completely cooked and the pulled pork was a bit too fatty. She returned after another 10 minutes to inform us that they were out of pork, chicken, and turkey. The only meats they had were ribs and brisket. So we had to pivot and order the brisket and chili. Just ordered a large order of food for my parents to take back to their Lakehouse. Usually, they like Moes BBQ but they we're so pleased with their Jim 'N Nicks BBQ so much! This is my second time trying Jim 'N Nick's and our food could not be beat! We had the following: Deviled Eggs-made with sweet relish, just like my moms! Delish! Classic Pulled Pork Sandwich-my father devoured it and it was piled high with meat with their special BBQ sauce. Onion rings- hand cut and fried crispy! So good cause they are homemade! Smoked wings- fried to perfection with a sweet red habanera sauce. Served with celery, carrots and blue cheese dipping sauce. Cheese biscuits- these mini biscuits are like popovers... and we popped them right in our mouths. Don't start nibbling cause you can't stop! Couldn't be any happier with our food! My son and I came here for our first time. It was lunch time and not real busy. My son had a Carolina pulled pork sandwich with corn on the cob. I had the fried catfish with fries and onion rings. My son said he was very pleased with his food. He agreed with me when I said the onion rings were the best I had ever had. Michael was our server, he was excellent. I will certainly be returning as my wife and daughter will want to come when they see my review. They have outside seating within we liked. The ambiance was great. We stopped here on our drive through Alabama in hopes for a good BBQ meal. We went through the drive-thru which did take longer than expected. However the staff did provide two $10 gift cards for when we return. This would be the only saving grace - how accommodating the staff were. Once we got the meal - the Southern Burger with Fries and Carolina-Style Pork Sandwich with the Collars Greens - it unfortunately was not worth the wait. The Southern Burger was enjoyed but the fries were limp and not salted. The collard greens were way too salty. I couldn't even finish it. The Carolina-Style Pork Sandwich was supposed to be pulled pork with Carolina style bbq sauce and coleslaw. None of that was on the sandwich and the pulled pork along tasted like pork - not enjoyable. I couldn't even finish it ... The food was pretty good. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Others at my table had a burger and a salad. The server didn't ask for the temperature of the burger so it was well done which wasn't the preference of my fellow diner. Unfortunately they were very short staffed this evening and the server was very busy and we were there for longer than needed to be. Decor/service: a nice bbq place that overall was pretty clean and had a nice style. The service was lacking however. It was after a auburn game so we expected it to be busy but the service was still a let down. The waiter said he would get cheesy biscuits for everyone but said it may take a while due to them being so busy. We watched him take biscuits to numerous tables who arrived after us and never even brought them despite us asking 3 times and him saying "we are busy and everyone gets 2 so they can take awhile" well if we arrived before others why are they getting theirs before us. 1/5 Food- Everyone at the tables food was Luke warm at best with 2 of us food basically being cold. I got the chicken-Turkey combo platter and so did one other person at our table. The chicken and Turkey looked 100% different than each other's. I went here with my sis and one of my best friends for dinner while visiting the area. I haven't been in a while so I was excited! We started off with appetizers: queso dip + a sausage appetizer with pimento cheese. I'm not a fan of pimento cheese, but it was decent and the sausage was delectable! The queso was creamy and very good. The salsa added a nice balance and the peppers were a huge KICK! I ordered an island combo which I thought would be very good, but it was more juice like. The bread is to die for!!! I ordered the catfish platter. The fish was hot, fries were fresh and the Mac and cheese was good. The service wasn't the best, but it wasn't terrible either. This goes out to Jack... or whatever your name was. I came in today around 7 to come eat dinner with my 5 friends. We got there and were immediately sat but we waited 15 minutes to even be greeted and the only reason we were was because i have to ask a busser why we had to wait so long. He arrived at the table and threw straws at us on the table. He acted like we were just a bother the whole time. It took us another 10 minutes to get our drinks. You acted like you couldn't talk to us and communicate with us. We ordered and waited about 40 minutes to an hour for our food to come out. When we needed refills and were needing a few extra items at our table he was no where to be found. Luckily there was another server who had the decency to come up to us and help us out. I wish he would have been our server in the first place. When we got our food it was cold and the baked beans were undercooked and cold. When we asked for hot food he replied people were complaining about the beans being cold. Well if it's cold, why don't you fix it. But anyways he brought more out and they were STILL COLD. We received the bills and they were all messed up. Mine and my friend's bills got swapped and charged me and my husband more than what we got. People should not be on the floor interacting with guests if they will act this way. If you don't like your job then do not come to work a customer service job. The overall environment was pretty crappy. Plenty of the servers and bussers passed us and said nothing but kept looking at us. As someone who works in the food industry and has for a while, it is very unprofessional for you to act this way working at a company. We just needed a little more than the bare minimum tonight and it was not there. If there was a 0 stars i would have chosen that. read more

So I'll start by saying the biscuits they bring out first are very yummy! But lots of cons unfortunately :// I had to ask for more water and some lemons multiple times before our server finally brought them. She was rude about it and brought me an entire new glass of water STRAIGHT from the tap like tasted like water hose water. I got the plain baked potato with nothing on it and a side of black eyed peas. My bill was 10$she ended up charging me 5.99$ for an absolutely plain baked potato with NOTHING ON IT ??????? She also messed up the entire tables drink order. Won't be coming back Update: A few days ago I received a personal phone call from the head of this company. I am absolutely overwhelmed with how they handled this situation. The top guy called me on his personal cell phone and wanted every detail of my visit to fix their issues, down to the fact they already had technicians checking the taps (bc the water tasted like hose water). He then proceeded to send me a 100$ gift card for my troubles. It was probably the BEST customer service from a company I have EVER received. I came in town for Auburn Career Fair and stopped in to get a walk in to-go to take back to hotel. Lisa was absolutely fabulous, very friendly, efficient and really on top of providing her guests with the best service and a smile. While I only got a small house salad, the deviled eggs (which were DELICIOUS) and a to go Coke Zero she treated me well. (Some servers would be bothered by this). I didn't even have time to ask for a refill on my to go soda before she had asked if I wanted a top off! I served for 10 years so I can appreciate this type of server who was just on their game. This was my first visit to this highly recommended barbeque restaurant located off of College Street in Auburn, AL. We were seated quickly but drink orders took a while since no one came by our table. The Yuengling tap was empty, very disappointing so Blue Moon was the next choice. Food orders were taken but the server forgot to place the order and lost the food order notes. He came back 20 minutes later and apologized that he forgot our order and asked again for our selection choices to our surprise. He did comp the beer but couldn't believe he didn't place out orders the first time around. Once the food did arrive, the selection was very good. We were in town for a couple of days and needed a place for lunch. Jim 'N Nick's was recommended by our hotel. BBQ from Alabama was high on my list and, oh by, was this the place! Sitting at our table, watching them serve another group with a full rack of ribs, I almost fell out. The 1/2 rack was double the amount of tasty, falling off the ribs, BBQ. Another of our group described the ribs and meaty, and they weren't wrong. Service was excellence, the place was comfortable, but the ribs.... Why talk about anything else. I've been here a handful of times, and BBQ places tons of times. I'm not sure why the rating is so low on this place, but I think that the food here is delicious and always a solid choice. I've had lots of things on the menu here. They always start off with these cheese puffs, half bread, half cheese. They're always so great. You can also buy the mix if you wanted. My go to is either the pulled pork or the grilled chicken breast. Sides of Collard greens and the friend green tomatoes. It's a solid meal with that blend of flavor and texture that leaves you satisfied. The collard greens have a light, but full flavor to them. The tomatoes are perfectly crispy. The meats on the other hand - always juicy, and the chicken always has a nice crust on the outside from the grill. Come back whenever I'm in Auburn. read more
